So far, very easy and comfortable environment, great equipment and spa options to wind down after a workout...not overly crowded, but this newer location seems to have all a gym newbie would need!

We have been members for years. We travel a lot so we have seen many planet fitness. Today we got up at 4am headed to the gym and arrived at 4:30 am the door was locked but the manager was inside( she could see us as well). Our location is 24/7 and we did not even think to look( our bad) . At 4:40 another staff member showed up . I asked if my husband could use the washroom . He said he would ask his manager. By this time it had started to rain on us. We had walked from our hotel so we had no cover. He came back out and said that the manager said no. No to a man that is a member using their washroom and no to letting 2 members standing in the rain come into the entrance. The manager then waited till exactly 5am to open the door knowing that my husband needed the facilities and we were standing in the rain.
This seemed like a power trip and truly just rude. If we had not had so many good experiences during our travels I would be looking to join a different national gym. Do better.

Clean, equipment in great shape. Carol the manager is the only one who has remembered my name out of thousands of people I'm sure she sees, feels good to be called by name when I walk in! Love it! I've got their black card membership, i worked out hard almost every day for a over a year and i finally lost 41 lbs. M6t starting weight was 188 lb, current weight 147.6 lb I was determined to lose it this past year, and i successfully succeeded!

Just a demoralizing experience. I wanted to get a workout in while on vacation. My normal planet fitness back home is 24/7 and ALWAYS nice and respectful. I was unaware that this one was not and the woman came up to me before they closed, while I was working out to rudely tell me if I knew they closed at 11. I went out of my comfort zone as is trying a new gym and to be talked to like that ruined my night.

I have no choice but to leave a bad review at this place. I have been trying to cancel my membership here. I live in Chattanooga now and do not regularly make the drive to Knoxville. I simply requested over the phone to cancel my membership and they told me to cancel online, to no avail. They then told me to email the email address listed on my contract. I emailed them requesting to cancel my membership, to which they responded that I either had to go in person or send in a letter. I explained over email that a letter would not get to them in time before my next payment is due and that I do not live in the city of my home club anymore. Not only that- it is listed as an option to cancel IN MY CONTRACT. No response. Fast forward a few days ago I am in Knoxville again. As expected, they click a button and my membership has been cancelled. I asked if I could get a refund for the last month that I have not gone to the gym and have repeatedly tried to cancel during to which the woman said the manager will be here in 45 minutes and told me to leave a name and number. So, I did. No call, of course. I tried calling today and it is like pulling teeth to even talk to a real person, and then what do you know, they transfer me to the front desk and it says “we are not in operating hours call back when we are open”. It is 2pm. Don’t get a membership here unless you want a nightmare when you inevitably want to cancel. I have a membership at the Y for cheaper and vastly more amenities.

small, had to wait for tanning beds bc there’s not enough, tanning bed NOT being cleaned by staff in between uses. bad design honestly. brand new build but old tanning beds? and something that resembles a camera in the ceiling of the tanning bed room.

The Powell gym isn't to crowed in the early morning weekends, the treadmills are a little dated but it's something staff is always nice and it's in a area easy to get in and get out and if you need to run errands there is plenty of local businesses around

Absolutely spotless, clean gym with new and well-maintained machines. I came to this one after my home gym Planet Fitness on Broadway turned extremely janky and disgusting with broken down machines and nobody ever cleaning the locker rooms. I was so glad to actually find a clean gym with friendly, helpful staff and working machines.

I love this gym! If you are looking for a place to belong where you can just do your own thing without feeling like you’re being looked at or judged this is your place! All of the equipment is awesome and the staff is amazing! They are definitely on top of their game. I have never had an experience where the bathroom/locker room was dirty. The machines are constantly being dusted and cleaned! Well worth it to get the black card! The hydro massage bed is literally heaven 😄. Come check this place out!

My wife Cynthia Price paused her account 3 months ago because she has surgery which prevents her from working out. Well for the last two months they have charged her the monthly fee. When she called last month they said they refund it and the account is on hold. Well today they charged another payment and still havent refunded the last one. They just lie to there customers here and refuse to refund anyone for there mistakes. If dont mind getting robbed go here to work out.

This gym is absolutely fantastic! The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the manager, Carol, goes above and beyond to be helpful. What really stands out is the cleanliness—it's spotless! I've even seen staff scrubbing the floors by hand, which shows their commitment to maintaining a pristine environment. As someone new to the gym experience, I was naturally a bit nervous, but their kindness and warm approach made me feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Do NOT sign up here. The manager has been fraudulently stealing money from my personal bank account after we BOTH SIGNED an official Planet Fitness form for cancellation over a year ago. That’s right: the manager of the Powell location is stealing money from me well after a year of cancelling this terrible gym, and after reaching out to corporate, they notified me they will do nothing as it’s my responsibility to manage my account. But I don’t have an account: I cancelled! If you look on Reddit, you will find many horror stories like this. Go somewhere else. Anywhere. PF is a national scam and they will be sued soon for this grossly fraudulent and criminal behavior. You cannot charge people who are not customers anymore and have proof of cancellation. They are also taking more money out of my account than when I was a member, proving the charges aren’t even real or legitimate—just theft. The manager of Powell knows they will get away with theft so they do it anyway. I’m working on a solution. But I am warning you that if you sign up here and they choose YOU to steal from (they only do this with a few accounts per location to not get caught by the federal government)—that you will not get any help from Planet Fitness. You will have to take it to court and that is both time consuming and stressful. Do you want to go to court with your gym when you move or cancel? Think about it. I’ve said my piece and I hope you don’t get stolen from. It feels worse and more humiliating than it hurts to lose $75/month for cancelling. If I had stayed a “member”, at least it would have been $50/month (even though I stopped going and didn’t like this location as much as others in Knoxville).

I've worked out at this gym for a year or so now. Staff is cordial. Facility is always well kept and cleaned. I will say the cardio equipment could probably be cut down by a third or half at least. They're never fully occupied. I would love to see space created for more plate loaded machines such as a hack squat, chest press, calf raise, etc.

Powell PF is the best PF in the area . As a cleaning specialists they keep the cleanliness of their facilities maintained , the members there are so friendly and helpful. All equipment has been in working use. And the staff has shown to be both knowledgeable , and attentive.

VERY DEGRADING!

Came in on Tuesday, October 8th as I just got here from Florida and wanted to use the restroom and freshen up. Need I remind you I've been an active member for over a year and still am in Florida. Came to Tennessee to evacuate the hurricane.
The lady at the from desk (not sure if it was the manger or an employee), informed me I only have a Classic membership and that members here wouldn't want an "outsider" using the restroom or facility. But that she would let me use the bathroom this one time. That the next time I would have to upgrade my membership to do so. I used the restroom and was fixing my hair. She came in twice to check in on me. Hence I was the only one in the restroom, then second time she called me by my name and said she only allowed me to use the restroom and I needed to leave. Told her to have a blessed day and thanked her for her "kindness". She was the only one working the front desk and as I was leaving someone was waiting on her but he left. If she didn't treat me as if I was beneath her, like I was going to steal something she would have been at her post actually doing her job. As a multiple business owner. I have Never been more insulted in how someone treated me. Definitely NOT how you do business. We should uphold ourselves to a specific standard and treat clients with kindness and respect at all times.

Went down there maybe five times. Changed my account over to the black account so that I could take my 14-year-old daughter with me once. Little did I know that if you sign up for a black account that you are under contract for 12 months. When I went to cancel my membership they want to charge me a $60 cancellation fee. Completely the opposite of what the spirit of their advertisements are, which is no strings attached. Manager @carol was rude and hung up on me in the end.

Signed up before the grand opening. Kept being promised staffing was going to be setup to accommodate 24hr location. Months since grand opening and they still don't have staffing to allow for 24hr. On top of that the only time I can work out is in the morning during the week and the place is way to crowded. Between people taking up benches to do these fad exercises they learned on tik tok (Spoiler, they don't need a bench they just don't want to use a mat on the floor) in an already cramped gym, waiting 5 min in between sets to get a bench is lame.

I feel like this planet fitness location is WAY to small, and way to many treadmills and ellipticals take up the footprint. Overall, no consideration from the members, lack of space, and no way to accommodate people who can only work out at night has forced me to cancel my membership.

It’s a very clean gym with newer machines and space to work out… However, customer service lacks. I’m currently looking for a gym so I signed up for a free day pass to check out this location. No one bothered to show me around or offer to sign me up/answer any questions I may have. I could have just walked out and no one would have cared. I had to go out of my way to ask a female in the front with rainbow glasses questions about their gym hours and how I could sign up. I won’t be signing up or going back if the employees can’t bother to make people feel welcomed.
