First and foremost, I do not dislike the planet fitness franchise. However, this one in Shelbyville is extremely toxic. The drama at this place is way to high for the small place that it is. The "judgement free" attitude is completely opposite here. I would definitely advise people getting into working out to go to a planet fitness, BUT do not go to this one at all unless you love the drama, constantly being judge, or want a toxic management system to be completely unhelpful. P.S. do not get your hopes up for a manager to ever be there when you need assistance with anything they control.

Specifically, this Planet Fitness in Shelbyville is extremely dirty. The bathrooms always smell bad and there's paper on the floor. It rains and gets wet inside. They want to strictly enforce the rules like they're the police, but the facilities, which we pay for because it's not free, don't deserve it. The massage chairs hurt because they haven't been updated in years. Two to three machines aren't working all week. One girl on staff is super rude! And I'm going to make it a point to update and upload photos every day to prove what I'm saying. And I'm not ending my membership because I also go to Murfreesboro and it's totally different.

Today was only my second day at Planet Fitness, and I have throughly enjoyed it so far! The facility is clean and offers a wide variety of workout equipment and machines to meet your fitness goals. Staff have also been friendly upon arrival and departure. I hope I stick with it and this becomes a new lifestyle. I definitely recommend it for beginners like myself, who may be a little hesitant about joining a gym or anyone looking for a great gym environment.

Any time the Hispanic lady is working it's ridiculously hot in the facility. It is for the customers comfort who are moving around and working out not employees. I don't want to sweat because of the temp ridiculous to say the least about to find a new gym because it's constant and disgusting to say the least.

Love it best time to go is First Shift hours not much people. I usually go around 4 or 5am and there will sometimes be only one person!!!! But I been going around 10-12 ish M-F and hardly no one is there, also later at night there is a crowd but a very chill one.. No one's hawking you down lol.. Staff keeps it Sooo clean and Keith will help you with anything I swear I ask him how to use certain equipment and he helps without any hesitation. I Also ask him if I'm using them correctly lol he is sooooooo helpful!!!! Love going when he's there!!

This is by far my favorite PF. I'm a black card member and drive a semi, so I've been to a few. Dany and Sammie H at the front were just so fantastic. They explained their perks ie the red light therapy, tanning beds, and massaging bed options. No other PF has ever mentioned red light. I got to encounter them 2 days in a row and they remembered me the second day, that says something. The facility was clean and the other members working out were all friendly as well.

Spoke with member on staff about cancellation and they said it had to be at least 24 hours before the 17th of the month and I cancelled the 14th in person. The woman I talked to said I would not get bill for the following month and my last day to use my membership would be the 15th. However I was still charged and I called and they said the last day to cancel was the 10th. The person I spoke with over the phone was rude and not helpful in any way. Said she would have the manager call me and it has been 4 days and I still haven't heard anything back. Charge to much and was always crowded. In the app you could schedule for classes but they never meet or did them in the Shelbyville facility.

It's a decent place. Although it's not huge and for that reason doesn't have a large amount of equipment. For it's size, it has a good selection and the tanning beds/towers and massage chairs/beds are really nice that they're included given the gyms small size. Of course the free weights like traditional squat bars and such lacking there are a huge let down to me. It's still cheap and convenient to me for what's there.
