If you’re looking for a trainer who will push you to your limits, make you question your life choices then Bobby Taylor is your guy! He’s like a cross between Jack Lalane and Lou Farigno. I trained with Bobby several years ago when he was working out of a prominent gym in Los Angeles. Prior to meeting Bobby, I thought I didn’t need a trainer. I was incredibly wrong. Bobby Taylor is not only a coach but a high quality strength training mentor. I am a former UCLA women’s soccer D1 National Champion and he was pivotal in my career change to strength coaching. He inspired me to invest in getting my CSCS Certification through NSCA and then proceeded to aid me in studying for the exam. He was able to help me navigate the focal points on the exam since the prep and study materials were so abundant. After succeeding in passing the exam on the first attempt, he didn’t stop there. He then taught me how to be a coach. He opened my eyes to the process of training and assessing clients to be able to coach them properly, not just passively. He was demonstrating ways to efficiently coach clients and facilitate the environment for effective movements that are performed safely. Bobby is an incredible trainer who really knows the science behind his training methods. I served with Coach Bobby in San Diego on a medium sized ship with a crew of about 400 sailors. We were in charge of the command fitness program and responsible for keeping all the crew in top shape. It was very difficult due to the fact that we had almost no time on shore, and the crew was tested twice a year for fitness. Coach Bobby ran most of the exercise sessions and he even stepped up and ran the extra program for sailors that had weight and endurance issues. We never lost a sailor (it was policy to discharge overweight and failures on the tests) and Bobby kept them motivated during deployment. He was also in charge of documenting the crew's progress on the DOD website and many times he ran the test for the whole crew by himself. The man is a consummate professional with a vast knowledge of fitness and nutrition. What else can you expect from a accomplished veteran!

I've been training at Bobby since May 2019--hundreds of sessions to date--and can't say enough good things about my experience.
What I love:
- The personal training really is personal. It started with an hourlong fitness assessment where we went over my exercise history, current state, and future goals. Now, each time a training block is completed, we go over goals again and customize a new training block accordingly. I've seen other client's workouts and they're entirely different than mine. This is definitely not a "one size fits all" model.
- It's your time. I've worked with other trainers who seemed content to show up, play their music, and look at their phones. Not here. You pick the music, you pick the mood. It's your time and he's 100% present for you.
- So. Much. Knowledge. Both Bobby is a lifelong learner. The fitness intellect he possesses is staggering. He's always able to answer the underlying "why" questions I have about particular training methodologies used and recommendations made.
- Phenomenal value. Sessions aren't cheap, but that first time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and think "oh wow, is that me?!", you'll know it's worth every penny. It's cliche, but this really is an investment in yourself.
Things to keep in mind:
- Minimal traditional cardio equipment. I am primarily focused on strength training, so this isn't an issue for me, but if you're looking an elliptical, a bike, and a rower, you won't find them here.
- Lack of shower/locker room. This is a dedicated fitness facility and every inch is utilized for training. Unfortunately that means no shower. Not a deal breaker, but it would be a nice addition down the road.
TL;DR: I'm in better shape now than I've ever been and it's due in large part to the time I've spent with Bobby. Give him a call and start with the fitness assessment. It may just be the best decision you'll ever make.

Excellent trainer, knows what he is doing and cares. He takes time to make sure you understand some of the movements that are required in the training. He makes sure to motivate and push you. Will motivate you and make you feel like you can push beyond of what you can do. When I trained with him I was always pumped and when I felt like giving up he just motivated me more to be better.

I worked with Bobby on a program to strengthen my lower body to prevent injuries. I tore my Achilles tendon years earlier and didn't want future soft tissue injuries to prevent me from a long life hiking and continuing to play sports.
Bobby knows strength. Bobby knows conditioning. He taught me the right set of lifts to strengthen surrounding muscle and keep my mobility high, particularly for golf. He's the right mix of demanding, challenging, and engaging that makes you look forward to your next session.

Before I met Bobby, I had so much success by myself when it came to losing weight. However, I did not have confidence in myself so I often found myself hiding in one corner of the gym doing random workouts with no goals. I also did not like lifting weights as I believed that it will morph my body i to a more masculine form. When I met Bobby, I noticed how knowledgeable he is when it comes to his element. When I was recommended to Bobby, I never would expect what would come next. A 5+++ Star Rating :-)
While I have had many trainers in my life, most of them seemed to ignore what I was trying to accomplish and instead gave me what seemed to be a generic plan. That all changed when I met Bobby!
Unlike many trainers, Bobby creates an individual and unique program for each client. After a long conversation on what I desired, my past injuries, my weak areas (ie, back) and my goals of loosing 15 lbs, increasing strength and muscle development, he created my plan.
After only a few weeks of my workout routine the pain I had had in my lower back all my life was gone. I never forget the first time he introduced me to the deadlift. I was afraid to even try it but his calm, reassuring way of being with me and other clients (who I spoke to) made it easier for me to trust him. During the following conversations with Bobby I learned that while I thought I had a bad back, turns out it was only weak muscles. The first time I deadlift I was only able to lift 95 lbs. After a few months I was lifting 250 and a few more weeks I was up to 300 lbs working weight with my one time lift at 330.
Bobbie also taught me how to monitor my food intake using advanced planning techniques that considered more than how many calories I ate. And needless to say I easily lost the 15 lbs I wanted and started looking more ripped. Keep in mind I was age 50 when I began. And now I was looking and feeling more like a 35 year old.
If you are looking to get in the best shape of your life, to have a sexy muscular looking body and to feel younger than give Bobby a call. After one conversation you will see that you have found yourself a gem of a trainer. One you can be confident in and one who is very knowledgable in not just building muscles, but in how all body processes interact with the muscle-building process.
PS- Besides have a pre-medical degree, having prepared special operations candidates for training pipelines and those seeking officer commissions., he spends a great deal of time researching on what works in the development of ones body.

I worked with Bobby from 2020-2022 and he is hands down the best coach I have ever had. It is evident that he cares deeply about his clients and his sessions are worth every single penny. I had no idea what I was doing until I met Bobby. I could go to the gym and do machines, but free weights were completely foreign to me. Bobby is an incredible strength and conditioning coach. The best personal trainer I’ve had. He’s very motivating and has such a great attention to detail. Bobby is an incredible trainer. He has a unique coaching style that pushed me beyond my own limits. When we first worked together, I had no knowledge on what a proper squat should look and feel like. We chipped away throughout the months with big goals in mind- power lifting. At the time, I was 130 lbs and had the goal of squatting 200 lbs (2x5) and deadlifting double body weight. Not only did Bobby encourage me, push me, and track my progress, he was also educated me throughout our sessions. By the end of my program, not only did I hit my goals, I surpassed them. Hitting 225 back squat and (3x5) 265 deadlift. Many members and trainers would come up to me and ask me who’s training me and if I plan to compete. While I never had aspirations to compete, training like a true athlete is something I always strived for. Thanks to Bobby and my experience with him, I continue reflect on my capabilities and push my limits.

I trained with Bobby for a little over a year; he was the best personal trainer I've had across cities and probably the only one I was happy with and saw results.
I was humbled by a DEXA scan early on, but dropped a solid amount of fat while feeling my strongest over our work together. Bobby is also super knowlegable about nutrition/health, entertained my random questions, and got me to a point where I was self-sufficient in my workouts.

When I started training with Bobby T in 2018, he was running a grassroots program. His dedication to building his company is quite admirable and I am very grateful to be a part of it and where it has become what it is today. His charisma, and dedication to creating a “better you” (apologies for the cliche), is not short of stellar.
Bobby makes working out fun and that’s, in my opinion, half the battle. His relatable demeanor, non-judgemental attitude and adherence to a safe and stringent training program makes you look forward to every workout. And if you’re into music, well, that’s an added perk. I trained with Bobby for two years before moving to London (age 28 - 30.) This was the first time that the time and energy for strength training found itself in my life and there is with him this whole paradox of working much harder / lifting way more / getting much stronger yet the entire relationship felt more like playdates. I never thought of the sessions as "training" per se. I wish other trainers would have the confidence in their own self to seem like they merely happened to be the weightlifting bro who was in the room with you.

I have been training with Bobby since September 2019 and it has been an incredible experience. I had initially avoided seeking out a personal trainer because I was afraid of/didn't want to lift weights and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg to work out. Eventually I became frustrated with my lack of progress with my fitness and health goals and met with Bobby to learn more about his services and expertise. Bobby does a great job of listening and developing a plan that is fully tailored to your goals whether that be cardio, weight lifting, range of motion work, or nutrition. Since I started training with him I have lost weight, improved my body composition (I look and feel great) and have developed much better eating habits that have improved my overall health conditions. He is incredibly knowledgeable, very helpful at debunking weight loss or workout myths, and so calming when you're having any anxiety about weight loss goals or food habits.
