9/10 times when I come in here late night or early morning to an empty gym the basketball goals are up and they refuse to put them down. They tell me that it's reserved gym tonight and it'll be 9:30pm and empty until close at 11pm. I'll dribble for an hour with no goal and watch as 0 people even walk by.
It's not like you can't ask me just to leave if anyone comes in. They treat patrons like children here.
This combined with the parking issues on campus are two huge reasons not to come to school here. Lazy and stubborn administration acting like Karens because they are too rude to let me shoot basketball when there's literally nobody in the gym.
Throw in random events and the entire gym being used by intramurals 95% of the year and it's a complete waste of money that I have to pay for this gym membership.
Can't even use the gym when there's no events or intramurals at the beginning of the year "in case someone wants to play Pickelball" at 10pm.. not like I couldn't leave if they showed up.

This place catches a lot of flack, but when it comes down to what matters, this gym is great. Plenty of plates, great dumbbell range, rouge bars galore, two platforms, two sets of double cables, plenty of benches and racks, and good isolation machines. Itβs not a pretty gym, no, but if thatβs what youβre looking for, go to planet fitness...

Medocre in every way. Hours are awful (good luck ever being able to go during the summer) , there are 2 squat racks and 3 benches, and most of the space in the gym is wasted on tredmils or the TWO basketball courts. Sorry tech, but you dont get to act like this is a real fitness center if you dont have enough modern workout equipment. Tech CLAIMS to be building a new fitness center but
1: who will be around to even see that 5 years from now?
2: why would they bother to be any better about weightlifting equipment. I expect them to "planet fitness" the gym and make it worthless like a lot of other gyms are doing these days.
Feel like most of my money that goes to tech is put towards things I will never see or get to use. And what they have is not maintained well.

90s look and feel. Dumbbells are all rusty and lots of missing paint on equipment

Has all the equipment you need for exercise including two basketball courts, several racquet ball courts, a running track and a swimming pool. Requires about $50 per semester (3 months).

Great resource for TTU students to exercise and workout. Lockers in the locker rooms are available for rent, there's a sixth of a mile indoor track, two basketball courts, plenty of workout and cardio machines, and racquetball courts as well. Showers are located in the locker rooms for use by patrons.

The TTU Fit is a fairly aged facility but it gets the job done well for its students. It offers an indoor heated pool, 8 racquetball courts, 2 basketball courts, a free weight room, an upstairs track, cardio equipment, a dance studio, and more. The only issue, which is fairly negligible, is they carry fairly restrictive hours and you must learn to plan around that. The facility is maintained primarily by students so you have to be understanding of their need to sleep.
