Fun climbing center with knowledgeable staff. Belay and bouldering day pass with shoes, harness and chalk was only $28/person. Good deal for a couple hours out if you've never been before.

Extremely disappointed that there were no Yerba Mate's for sale and only Celsius energy drinks. But the route setting was great, and the staff was very friendly. I had to have them explain the grading scale to me, since it looked like it was made by Jackson Pollock, but the boulders themselves were very accurately graded in my professional opinion. Also, there doesn't seem to be any air conditioning in the gym, so it was very hot inside. I went in feeling like John Hamm, and left feeling like Kevin Bacon...

I've never been to another climbing gym. I learned to climb outdoors. I don't know all the terminology. I've only been climbing for 6 years. But when I come here, I'm supported and treated equally. I feel at home here and that is important to me. They are always changing the routes. They always having me wanting to do more.

The Climbing Center has been an incredible place to cultivate my climbing skills and train for outdoor adventures. Itβs not just a gym; itβs a welcoming community that makes every visit enjoyable and productive.
The staff here, particularly Mary and Mark, are phenomenal. Their friendliness and helpfulness create such a positive atmosphere, whether youβre a seasoned climber or just starting. Theyβre always ready to offer tips or simply chat about your climbing goals, which makes the gym feel like a second home.
The route setting is creative and stylish, offering challenges that push you in all the right ways. While the variety of holds could use a bit of an upgrade to keep things fresh and exciting, the quality of the current routes shows the passion and expertise of the setting team.
One thing Iβd love to see is earlier hours of operation. With a busier schedule, having the option to come in early would make it easier to fit climbing into my dayβand Iβm sure other members would appreciate it too!
This gym has been instrumental in my climbing journey, and with a little extra support and investment, it has the potential to be even better. Huge thanks to everyone who makes The Climbing Center such a special place!

I love this place. The employees are true climbers who love their jobs and love sharing the stoke! I don't normally like bouldering, but it's super fun to get into there. The rope setting is also enjoyable!

Honestly the worst gym I ever been to. Setting is not that good, small gym, and its confusing as heck with no end tape and similar colors next to each boulder. I have been to over a hundred gyms and I can only think of one other gym in sacramento, ca thats still an obvious second worst gym but only cuz their walls are slick not necessarily cuz the setting. I don't know why this place is still in business nor why the rating is so high.

Great climbing gym! There's bouldering problems and routes for climbers of every level, and the community is amazing. The patrons are amazing, and will often climb in groups, and the staff are all amazing. The programs they offer are also great, including Kids Camps/Climbs, (hosted by Coach Melissa, who is amazing) Women's Climbing Coalition Events, Pride Nights, and the High School climbing league, which includes nearby Blount and Knox County schools, as well as private and homeschool teams. There's also been word of extending it to include a Junior League for middle schools, which I'm sure will be absolutely wonderful as well. If you're looking to climb in an amazing environment with a supportive community in Knoxville, this is the place to be.

This is the friendly down-home Knoxville gym. Extremely supportive community of members! I started coming here a few years ago as a complete and utter beginner who could barely complete a V0. But they've built such a comfortable environment that I felt welcome back each time, even though I was always surrounded by much more skilled climbers than me. Now I can regularly do V3s and I'm still always sore after each time I go!
Additionally, this place is highly affordable. $10/visit for students, $12/visit regular price, discounts after 6pm on Fridays, and only $50 for a 1-month membership and $350 for 1 year. Super worth it and I'm beyond happy with my membership.

I want to start out by saying I haven't rock climbed in years, but this was one of the better experiences I have had with it. The staff in the climbing center were helpful, friendly, and had a wealth of knowledge for beginners. The bouldering was a great way to jump back into a hobby I really enjoyed in the past. I didn't expect to be so sore, but I will definitely be coming back

This is a great place to go rock climbing and bring friends. I've been going for about 4-5 years now, and I absolutely love climbing here! There are tons unique routes, both challenging and rewarding. They have a 45% wall, auto belays, top rope, and bouldering. The staff have helpful insight for climbing, and willing to give beta if you ask. The climb is definitely worth the cost!

**Edited to add COVID precautions they are taking**
Due to COVID, they have online sign up for two hour time frames and allow 6 people in during those 2 hours. They have signs to wear masks and to wear them above the nose. They have sanitizer out, in case it's needed.
I have been climbing at TCC for 3 1/2 years. I feel like I became part of a family. I love climbing here because the employees are amazing. They change out the walls weekly, so there's always something new to try out. I've met many strong, kind, compassionate people while climbing here and I'm thankful those people are in my life. The atmosphere is relaxed with music playing. The prices are incredibly fair and the experience is fun. I love it here.

Great Center, lots of walls to climb, and all the People are friendly. I have been coming for about four years and have had an amazing experience everytime I come in. The staff are really knowledgeable and willing to help you figure out difficult routes and problems. I love how they frequently change the climbing routes, creating new and unique problems to solve. I highly recommend it to anyone of any skill level.

Truly a gem of a climbing gym! I was visiting from Hawaii for a week and came in on three nights to keep up with training. The auto-belay routes are plenty tall to get a good workout in and as much fun to down climb as they are on the way up. The bouldering walls offer a huge variety from big dynos to crimp sequences that will leave you pumped. The rental shoes are in great shape and the facilities are solid. I pay $65 a month at home for a tiny, crowded bouldering gym - at $45-55/mo this place is a phenomenal value. Mark, Mary, Joe and the other staff made me feel like family and are what make this gym so fantastic. Keep it up TCC team!

Great atmosphere for the family! We have a membership and visit at minimum once per week. My oldest daughter just turned 5 years old and loves it. She is non stop. Our youngest just turned 2 and is starting to try it out. The staff is excellent, both of our girls love being around them and they are all so helpful! The Manager Mary really goes above and beyond as far as customer service goes, and continues to keep the place inviting and fun.
