24 hour fitness is a wonderful place to work out. The Valley Ranch gym is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. We could use some new treadmills, bikes, and some new and updated workout equipment, but other than that it is a nice workout facility. We could also use a new hot tub.

Walked in today with my partner to utilize the guest passes…was greeted by a nice staff member (forgot to get his name). He assisted my partner with signing up, once it was my turn another member Corey Dickenson(Dickerson?) walks up, starts asking me for my ID which was already provided to the previous employee. He asks what brings me in, I tell him to utilize the guest pass for the day and I show him my code. He then asks me where so I live, I told him maybe 40mins from here (I in fact live downtown) so he tells me I can’t use the guest pass because “I need to live about 3-5miles from the locations Lol what a joke. So I say the website doesn’t state that at all, and why would it when it’s for a guest pass. My partner is in town visiting so he wanted to try a new gym for the time he’s here. After a brief back and forth about the website with Corey I leave feeling uneasy and honestly sad! I went right on over to LA Fitness just down the road and use a guest pass no problem. Let’s do better Corey.

I recently downloaded a guest pass to check out this gym, but my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

When I arrived, the parking lot was half empty, which should have been my first clue. Upon entering, I was greeted with a lukewarm “welcome” from the front desk receptionist. I explained that I had a guest pass and wanted to tour the facility. Instead of asking for the pass, she immediately asked for my ID and informed me that only the General Manager, Torrance, could enter guest pass information into the system.

After waiting, Torrance finally appeared, asked for my ID again, and then proceeded to question me about why I was in the area—simply because my driver’s license is from Texas. I found this interrogation unnecessary and unprofessional. I was told that guest passes were for “local residents only,” even though that restriction is not mentioned anywhere on the website or in the confirmation email.

By that point, I was already turned off by the negative energy, outdated music, and poor staff attitude. The facility itself didn’t help—the plastic “Do Not Sit” signs taped to chairs made the space look tacky and unwelcoming.

As a former corporate employee and longtime member of a luxury gym, I’ve experienced many fitness facilities, and this location stands out for all the wrong reasons. The lack of customer service here is astounding. This is a service-based, membership-driven business, yet the GM seems more focused on his ego and title than on creating a positive experience for guests and members the very people who keep the gym open.

Torrance never apologized, showed empathy, or made any effort to correct the situation. It’s standard practice for the membership sales team to welcome and onboard guests and potential members not the GM to interrogate them. Not only is the GM harassing guest’s, he’s turning away potential commissions from his sales team.

After this experience, it’s easy to see why the gym was nearly empty. A poor attitude from leadership sets the tone for the entire facility.

Straightforward and the money I have paid for my plan was not will given to me and not provide the access of the location even money was paid and has been mistake happened by the staff. I joined this gym primarily to swim. Yet for over one-third of my six months there, the pool (and, quite often, the sauna and/or hot tub) was closed for repairs. First it was electric, reportedly, then plumbing and then lights — each closure measured in weeks. My favorite sport became asking gym personnel, on the phone or in person, “what happened? for how long …?” just to gauge how little each knows and how much their speculations differ from all the others. In the end, it was always the club manager, ever out of sight, who knew but wouldn’t tell. After the first closure of 3+ weeks, he declined even to reply to my inquiries. Nor was there any proactive notification of closure with reliable estimates of duration as I’d experienced at The Y in central Dallas. THE SERVICE AT THIS 24 Hour Fitness IS AS DISMAL AS ITS RELIABILITY. But don’t err in thinking that the other facilities at this club are stellar. I only used weights — never made it upstairs to spinning, rowing or other machinery — but, while equipment was generally operable, the grime factor is escalated. Add to that this gym’s pervasive plumbing problems (foul odors) and disgusting locker rooms with the occasional seeming vagrant and you get a not-even-The-Y experience. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, TAKE A PASS ON THIS GYM AND, maybe, don’t even bother with 24 Hour Fitness as most aren’t 24-hour facilities and, it does seem, gouging or inconveniencing members has a higher premium than fitness in the club’s culture.

From the moment I walked into this 24 Hour Fitness on Valley Ranch Rd., I’ve felt welcomed and supported. The facility is large with plenty of machines for both cardio and weights, and the layout gives you room to move — so far the equipment has all been working well at the times I go.

But what truly makes this place special is Ryan, my instructor. He brings the kind of positive energy that makes working out feel fun instead of a chore. Since joining his classes, I’ve seen crazy improvements—my strength has skyrocketed and my body has visibly changed. This could be a great gym and I don’t know why it isn’t because so many people frequent. It’s always packed.
They do have a good selection of equipment, but they don’t keep it up very well . The grips on most of the equipment are pretty beat up. And post workout The sauna and the steam room are always down unreliable and actually never quite hot enough .
When I’m pushed for time, I’ll go to this location because it’s close to my house .
Another thing is the cleanness in the shower and restroom room . They’re always out soap, the floors rarely mopped, and the toilet and urnals are always in bad shape and stink.
As I mentioned before there’s lots of members lotta good members coming and going and even though it gets busy, they have a good selection of equipment so there’s really always enough of a selection that you can, with a few adjustments always get your workout in .

I love this place. I initially started with personal trainer Jennifer and she is very good for the fitness training from freehand exercise to weight training. Extremely Disappointed – Misleading Promises and Terrible Customer Service

I recently moved to 24 Hour Fitness from another gym, mainly drawn by the amenities they claimed to offer — hot tub, sauna, and swimming pool. During the sign-up process, the staff at the front desk made several promises and pushed hard for long-term memberships by promoting special offers. Based on their promises, I chose a 12-month membership.

However, after just 2 months, I deeply regret my decision.
• Amenities are nearly always unavailable — more than 80% of the time, the hot tub, sauna, or pool are “under maintenance.”
• Every time I asked the staff about this, they acted clueless — as if they had no connection to the gym facilities. No updates, no accountability, just blank responses like “We don’t know, that’s a different department.”
• After weeks of asking and getting nowhere, I decided to cancel my membership. That’s when the experience got even worse.

The manager, Sabrina, was rude and unprofessional. Here’s how that went:
1. She told me to call the corporate office to cancel. When I did, corporate told me to speak with the gym manager. When I went back to her, she again passed the buck to corporate.
2. She questioned why I signed up for 12 months — despite it being their own promotion that encouraged me to do so.
3. I asked to speak with her supervisor, and she flat out refused. When I asked for a phone number, she gave me the gym’s front desk number instead.
4. Corporate customer service was no better — dismissive, rude, and condescending. One representative even said I could leave a bad review if I wanted to — they didn’t care.

To make it worse:
• Many of the cardio machines are broken or under maintenance too.
• No one takes responsibility, and customer service is non-existent once they have your money.

Bottom line:

Do NOT fall for the promises at 24 Hour Fitness.
Amenities are often unusable, the staff lacks accountability, and management is rude. The corporate office is equally unhelpful, and you’ll be stuck in a membership paying for facilities that rarely work.

I have attended many gyms in the area, this has to be the by far worst gym in dfw metropolitan. It’s a very dirty & diminished place, the patrons have no courtesy of others nor do they clean up or pick up after themselves. The sauna & steam room has been broke for weeks on months. The employees are no help with nothing nor are they welcoming. There is dirty & dust almost every corner in this gym absolutely FILTHY. the equipment is all old outdated rusted & broken. All the gym new styles gyms opening up around the area I might just have to cancel this one, I came on a Sunday I think I’m done

Gym executive named Sabrina - made numerous promises about benefits and services during the sign-up process — none of which were honored after payment was made. It is a classic bait-and-switch.

Despite repeated follow-ups, there was no accountability, and commitments were simply ignored. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on ethics and business grounds. Be very cautious and avoid this place at all costs. The machines are outdated and overcrowded, the changing room is never kept clean, hot tubs are not hot and steam room has never been cleaned.
