The first time I went to that gym was in 2011 and it was one of the best gyms it was open 24 hours a day sometimes I went at 1 am everything was very new with very nice people I subscribed a few months ago and I was shocked it seemed that there was a war in there the owners dropped that gym and turned it into the worst of all I only went one day and canceled the subscription

Sucks that this place is closing permanently 10/1, but it feels like it was time. I try to go in the mornings and out of the last 3 or 4 times it has been closed during work hours 2 times. It also seemed liked the managers were rotating or there simply wasn’t a manager on staff. Sucks because I have made a good routine and I’ll have to recreate it at a different gym but it is what it is. I’ll keep enjoying it for the next month or so.

This place is disgusting! I wouldn’t even have a membership there is it wasn’t so close to my job! The desk people sit on their phones the whole time when they could be sweeping up the piles of trash that are in the showers for weeks at a time. And more than half the showers don’t work or the drains fill up with water so fast that it floods. I have mentioned this to management multiple times but nothing ever results from it. DISGUSTING!

Review of 24 FitNess - Mesquite, TX

I recently visited 24 FitNess around 4 PM and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Upon entering the facility, I was struck by the overall cleanliness—or lack thereof. The gym environment felt neglected and unkempt.

I decided to use the hot tub and steam room, but the swimming pool area was particularly unpleasant, with a strong odor that resembled urine. It was quite off-putting. To make matters worse, the women’s restroom was in a deplorable state, lacking toilet paper and featuring an out-of-order sink.

When I approached the front desk to address these issues, I found a manager from a different location sitting at the desk, seemingly uninterested as she played on her phone. I inquired about the condition of the women’s restroom, and she informed me that this location had no managers and only four employees on staff. This lack of oversight is concerning and unacceptable.

The overall hygiene of the facility made me hesitant to use the shower, as it felt gross and uninviting. In my opinion, this location requires immediate attention and deep cleaning. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of care, especially considering the membership prices.

Given the current state of this gym, I strongly believe it needs to be shut down temporarily to address these cleanliness issues. I left feeling very upset and dissatisfied with my experience.

I started 24 hour fitness with an trainer Jordan. He helps with exactly what you asked him to help you with. The workout Jordan picks for are perfect, he even watches an corrects your posture. I'm working 💪 on muscle strength my husband has noticed an complimented me Thanks to Jordan. I do martial arts I'm 65 yes. old an also my Master has noticed. I'm writing this review for my personal training with Dale. After going through many trainers and other gyms I finally found a trainer that truly cares. He taught me how everything I needed to know to get in shape lose weight and get healthy. He really puts his heart into it and genuinely cares. I'm 66 years old but he let me know that I can do more than I thought. I truly love working with him I'm definitely seeing the results.

I been coming for years in this gym. And last year I was so hussy I could not come but still paying and got behind 2 month so they ware really nice in. Person they say or let me see if they can help you with this two month and avoid but I call today and this guy was really rude. This gym is the worst I’ve ever been to. It is always filthy, down to the machines, restrooms, showers, sauna, steam room etc. Everything is absolutely disgusting, all machines have layers of gunk all over them. Not only have they never been cleaned they also are always out of service and it is the same thing no matter when you go there is always a limited amount of machines and there are more out of service machines than usable ones. Their equipment/ machines are all ancient and falling apart.
The sauna is always filthy and there are silverfish climbing all over you and living in the cracks of the benches in there. There is a pool of sweat, dirt, and grime on the floor of the sauna.
There are leaks in the ceiling that are left unfixed for long periods of times with only a large trash can collecting the water.
As if that isn’t enough this gym isn’t even 24 hours and has very early closing times due to being very understaffed, which explains why they never clean.
DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS GYM!

It’s really irritating to be kicked out of a Gym that charges for a premium membership of More Than, $30 before the closing time. It’s really distracting during a workouts to have Someone yelling and screaming in your face that we need to get out and not in a pleasant way, and it’s always the same woman doing this every single night. Lots of treadmills not working, instead of fixing them, all they do is put "Out of Order" sign. When I originally joined im July, I complained same and one of the staff member showed me few of the boxes that were sitting by reception area saying this are the parts and it will be fixed soon. It is May and still not fixed and now there are more broken ones. In the morning it is hard to find a treadmill that is available. I will wait and see by the time of my renewal, if not fixed, me and my friends will join other gym.

A lot of broken equipment and staff don’t clean at the end of the day. Weights still be left out of place in the same spots days later. Hyrox will be in Dallas in November. The only ski erg and one out two of the rowers don’t work. Locker rooms JUST started getting cleaned during the week but the weekend, not a chance. I’ve been a member for a while but it’s becoming a bit annoying.

I'm a member 30+ years. The gym is dirty, including the parking lot, and repairs when needed are long delayed. However, it is conveniently located for me, and I like the group classes. Instructor Lori (Zumba) is experienced, motivating, and high energy. Instructor Marcie (Bodypump) is motivating and caring, encouraging participants to make progress. Instructor Teri (Zumba Gold) is cheerful and makes the class fun cardio for the mostly senior participants. All 3 of these instructors earn 5 stars from me.

This gym is filthy. I only go when I’m not able to go to the other locations and it’s more logistically convenient. The showers are dirty, and the water is pooling at the drain which is a safety hazard. Half of the treadmills don’t work. They used to be cleaner and more on top of things, and I reached out to corporate before I posted on Google, but I haven’t received a response so I felt this was the most appropriate avenue to voice my dissatisfaction. Mesquite deserves just as nice of facilities as North Dallas.

This gym is filthy! I recently moved back to Mesquite after being away 7 years and started back at this gym. This gym is possibly the dirtiest gym I have ever seen. There is dirt and garbage on the floors. Trash cans are over flowing, machines have caked on dust and rust, and some don’t work, the carpet flooring is stained. Most of the machines have to be 15-20 years old. Corporate needs to come visit to see how badly this gym has been mismanaged.

Don’t come here. They have a huge issue with vehicle break ins and stolen cars. My car got stolen here and I made police report but they Have essentially no GOOD cameras and police wasn’t able to do anything because there was no footage. Police also told me that this gym and fitness conn across the Hwy are the gyms they would never go to because of how much crime there is. That same day I’ve even had an employee tell me they’ve gotten their car stolen here once too. On top of that I tried to cancel my membership and I continued to get charged. the management has really gone downhill. Gym is extremely dirty and gym is unorganized with equipment everywhere. Save yourself the headache of getting your car broken into or even stolen.

This was once such a nice, clean, well-maintained gym. Now look at the reviews and the canned, scripted replies by the owner. Then look at how much time has gone by since the complaints started (months and months), and absolutely nothing has been done to clean up the place. The only good reviews are about the staff. The facility is large but needs a major update. Quite deciving looks nice outside but old iand dirty inside. Machines are old and worn. 24 hour fitness is shaming their name with the facility. We joined over 2 weeks ago. I shared my concerns with how FILTHY the women's showers were with the manager. He said he was having a cleaner come in to clean. First time here and the hot tub is dirty and busted. The steam room is also broken. Ants bit me in the dry sauna and there is dirt in the hot tub. There is rotted wood on the benches in the locker room.

Dirtiest and most mismanaged gym I’ve ever been in. I bought a Platinum membership for the last two years and after my experience this last year, I joined another gym less than half way through the year and I will never go back - Even though I prepaid for the entire year. The manager Timothy was incredibly rude and acted annoyed, interrupting and sarcastic, when broken machines were brought to his attention, and some machines were broken for over 5 months. Bathrooms were nasty and the roof leaked everytime it rained with wet spots on the carpet and trash cans set up to catch the rain. Be sure to get your tetanus shot because some machines are rusty. I’ve been to other 24 hour locations and they are clean and well managed, but I need one close to home and this one honestly needs to be closed by the health department and renovated - and needs a change in management.

This gym sucks!! Old equipment...really old. Stair masters stay broken and they're rusty. Same old row machines that have been there forever with rusty chains. Treadmills haven't been updated in several years. The last update they did was many years ago and that was only because Fitness Connection opened up across the street on Town East. I hate...yes, HATE this gym.

While I can agree with some of the other reviewers about the aged appearance of the gym, I have to disagree on some of the customer service issues. If you need help or have a concern, my advice is to find Caleb. He's always there in the evenings when I workout. More importantly, he's incredible at his job. I've been in service industry management for 25+ years. Most of that has been in a multi-unit/district manager capacity. If I could've found more managers like him, the job would've been too easy. He checks every box. He's incredibly friendly and always helpful. You can talk football with him, get workout advice, or just simply expect to catch a smile and a warm greeting with wave of the hand from across the room. He's always been eager to help. Never any of that, "Oh man, what does this guy want now" type behavior. It's not just me. I see him deliver the same high energy and dedicated customer service with everyone he comes in contact with every single time I'm in there. His attitude is perfect, and he's consistent with it. Especially, when you have a problem that needs to be addressed. That's when many managers lose the upbeat attitude and drop the ball. Not Caleb. I've had issues with machines that needed some R&M, and every time, he's been all over it. I mean he snaps to it. None of that, "Ok, bro, I'll take a look at it later". He's listening attentively, and he assesses the issue immediately. He'll walk with me to see the exact problem, he gets his team assembled, and then he gets the problem fixed asap. All the while, he's gracious, positve, and willing to take charge. Whether you're new to the facility, or a long time member, he's a friend to all. His door is always open. Literally, he doesn't hide in the office. He keeps the door open and jumps to serve, without having to be prompted. That skillset can be difficult to find in a lot of managers. It's easy to cruise when nothing goes wrong, but being able to take care of your customers concerns thoughtfully and efficiently, is a true asset to any service related business. That's where you win customers for life. Caleb is my MVP, and a big part of why I continue my membership at 24 Hour fitness. You can find simialrly priced gyms all over the metroplex, but you won't find Caleb's level of service. So, again, if you need help, find Caleb. He'll do everything he can to provide the experience you expect and deserve as a customer.

Out of all the 24 hour Fitness I've visited, this one needs help!! ASAP.. Nothing works. Don't take a shower cause there's only HOT water! Jacuzzi only has cold water, and the steam room has been down for more than four weeks. Take your own toilet paper and toiletries . This gym is dirty and seems to be understaffed cause it is close to early.

not 24hr, they dont tell you that when you sign up. we asked them if it gets busy at midnight and instead of saying they aren’t open then, they just said no. gets INSANELY busy at night before close. this gym used to be actually 24hr, really disappointing. the nearest one that is actually 24hr is almost an hour drive away from me. the amenities at this gym are nice, but its always too crowded to use any of them. not to mention when we first went for a tour, one of the employees laughed at us and refused to show us around. the manager who toured us was nice but obviously trying to make a sale. did not give us a lot of info about the gym itself or really care to tell us that despite the name, they are not 24hrs.

Very disappointed. I pay for the platinum yearly package, but I can't work out during the hours that are more accessible for me because they don't open 24 hours like they're supposed to.

This place has become Terrible, been a member since 2006. The last few years have been the worst, it's a pig stye. Restrooms always look filthy, urinals are mostly nasty. When I go at 5-630, it's about a 50/50 chance their are paper towels in one of the 5 dispensers. This place is convenient for me to workout at, but rarely is there somebody checking for memberships. Most of the time you can just walk in, and no one questions you!!! Not sure why I even pay my monthly dues, if I can just walk and no is at the desk or they just don't care....I wish there was another convenient place near me to work out at, until then I have to consider whether I will to continue working out here.

Updated review. Gave 24 hr Fit another chance before going to look for another gym. Went in 3 days later after my initial review and the gym was cleaned. There was a man vacuuming and it looked totally different. We decided to stay at 24hr fitness. Changed from 1 start to 4 stars.

The details I have are the same already listed by other members below my review. You just do not want to listen or apply any change but you want to get the money every month. This location is just disgusting. If you go to the one in McKinney, the gym is very clean and machines are up to date.
Nothing changed here for the past years, we should get a discount on our membership when amenities are not working or not existing anymore (Outside pool closed, sauna always dirty, I don't even want to talk about the leaking toilets, toilet seats, stair master dangerous or not working ...). The list IS LONG ! Stop saying you trying to improve because you are not. I can't remember last time I saw someone cleaning this gym, I truly believe that you have no cleaning crew.

Went there with my sister as a guest, the guy in the front informed that she no longer has a guest pass. I registered the free 3-day guest pass but he refused it. He assumed I would never be interested in getting a membership and that he “already knows” and it’s “not fair to other guests” without truly even asking if I would be interested seriously. You would expect such a big franchise like 24hrs to have the best statebof the art equipment, but instead Mesquite facility has the MOST "Out of Service" equipments. More than 10 cardio machines are broken or non functional. To add the salt on the wound, Men's shower are disgusting, they haven't been cleaned for months if not year. There is mold on the shower walls and glass edges. Whoever is managing this place need retraining or replacement or even FIRED.

*Update* SMH So I forgot to come back and give an update for this place... I went to workout and had my free training session...now mind you that I went in because I had knee replacement and needed to work on that but my trainer even though she was a sweetheart she worked me out more for upper body and had me on the floor which was hard for me to do and get back up because my knee just quit wasn't ready. I had already paid for the month and I even paid for the locker fee they have but nobody could tell me what that actually covered. I hadn't been able to go for a bit only to find out that they had already taken out another payment and tried to take out 2 more months of payments and then said because I was behind on my payments I was not able to use the club until I got caught up. 🤔 Now first of all the heated pool wasn't heated but that wasn't a bother because I worked in physical therapy and we would do the hot cold thing so the hot tub then the cold pool. The showers had very little water pressure and I felt uncomfortable because I don't like to shower in front of people...yep the ones with any water pressure had no doors. So after I saw what they did to my bank account and told me that I couldn't use the gym I asked them because I only used the place a couple of times and they took out for the next month could I get that back... crickets...no one would return my messages... strange since they were non stop contacting me to upsell me all kinds of add on packages that I said no to.... I thought this place was going to be a good experience...😞

I’ve been coming to this gym since about September of last year when I moved to the area. I’ve been going to 24 hour fitness gyms since 2016, the gym I came from rarely gave me a problems and I never had a problem using equipment unless it was occupied.

Regarding this specific location… for the sake of just trying to get a workout in, I guess this gym does the job. But to be honest every day I come to work out I’m so disappointed. It’s like management doesn’t care about updating their equipment. Broken machines will take weeks/months before it gets fixed. Paper towels are always running out so you can never wipe down your equipment. Everything is outdated and I just don’t get the vibe that they care to fix anything, they just want the money that you pay. It’s not even open 24 hours and we are paying for that. The staff in the front are always nice and great most of everyone when we come in but the gym itself is sub par.

I travel a lot and use gyms throughout the country when I do. We are planning a move from Central Texas to the Dallas area and I got a 3 day pass to check out the Mesquite location - so I can find a home gym for after our move. Needless to say, I only used one day of the pass. This is by far the worst kept equipment I have ever seen in a gym. The free weights were the only decent things to use, and decent is used lightly. Benches were rusted out, to the point that when I attempted to adjust decline, the entire thing came out- fully rusted. In the leg area, the seated leg press machine weight, couldn't even be adjusted because it was so rusted. Seat covers torn and trash, paper towels strewn throughout the floor. It was disgusting. I will never work out here again and am so disappointed. 24 hr used to be a clean, great workout gym back when I had a membership in Colorado. This is not representative of what any paying member should expect. The staff was quite pleasant, but my assessment is that this is lack of care for the facilities, on the corporate level. Nobody should be paying for a membership here. SMH

This location is the NASTIEST! UNSANITIZED location I have been to. I’ve been going to this one for a few weeks because it’s between my house and my job but I would much rather drive out further to Plano. Each week it gets worse and worse! The toilets in the women restrooms are so dirty and old. The showers are not well maintained.. there’s hair , underwear etc things left behind. I could go on and on and the only reason I give it a 2 is because their equipment is better than some locations they have and you can get a good workout. BUT if you go in you DEFINITELY need to sanitize EVERYTHING you touch because the people don’t help keep the place together or sanitized either!

Can the bug issue be fixed? There’s bugs in the sauna that easily could be fixed by calling pest control and taking cleaning and sanitizing serious especially for all the money we are paying. Cleaning is another major issue. I’ve gone to other gyms where there are employees cleaning behind everyone and making sure everything is sanitized. The upstairs restroom is always scary to walk into. It smells like urine. I think I only walked in 1 time out of 7 months that I have been a member and it was clean. I stay out of the main restroom for the same reason. I also here there are bugs in there. Please call an exterminator!

Lastly, machines are always out of service or not safe. The stair master machines all have issues and either speed up really fast, don’t work, or move very slowly. Not safe. The treadmills also get stuck. The majority also have issues. Almost all of the machines are outdated or broken. Where is the money being put in? There aren’t upgrades, pest control, or any maintenance that we see being put into this gym. I hope we see changes soon. This is all things members talk about.

I have been a member at 24 hours fitness Mesquite for over 15 years. Over that 15 + years this facility has continued to go down hill. First, they completely removed the children’s club amenity, second they spent at least a couple hundred thousand dollars putting in a pool several years back outside for members that is now closed and not maintained. This club is supposed to be a super sport club and used to have towel service…. Instead of repairing or replacing their washer or dryer several years back, they decided to cancel the towel service. They have no problem continuing to take increases annually in membership dues but continue to provide less and less.

Restrooms:
The restrooms are always filthy and seldom cleaned. I agree it seems that the clientele that still go to this gym are nasty in general and throw stuff everywhere and pee all over the seats. However, it’s the Gym’s responsibility to keep the facility clean for the members. In addition to not having clean restrooms, there is seldom any maintenance or upkeep on the showers and some locks have been missing from the bathroom stalls for over a year. In addition, there are multiple other bathrooms around the gym that members are locked out of or missing door knobs.

Equipment:
The equipment is never maintained. There has been a Smith machine that has been broken conservatively for four months without an attempt to repair it or replace it. Multiple treadmills and stair climbers have been broken for 4 to 5 months without any attempt to repair or replace. Along with several other pieces of equipment throughout the jammed out of order signs that will probably have out of order signs for six months. On top of the restrooms being filthy the gym itself is typically filthy. There are piles of dust under some of the machines that is never swept or vacuumed, chalk everywhere, mirrors dirty.

The only reason I continue to go here and this gym is getting two stars… it’s five minutes from home and there is still a decent assortment of free weights..

I will absolutely admit that if they can’t get their act together soon, I will definitely cancel my membership and drive a little further. There are other gyms close by with working equipment that at least have a little cleanliness.

24 hour fitness you can absolutely do better for your members!! You need to fix this disgusting heap of a gym…..

2-16-2024 update: The women's showers are the filthiest they've ever been. The trash can by the pool is filled to overflowing at opening today, as it often is. I just don't understand why the facilities aren't cleaned after closing every day.

Original review: Pretty disgusting all the time. There are clumps of hair in the women's showers at opening every single day. The floors and pool look like they've never been cleaned.

Of the 7 available showers, one has no door, one door won't close, one closes only with extreme effort, 2 give only a trickle of water from the shower head which makes them completely unusable, the one without hair has very little water pressure as well, and the one with a bench is the tiniest of all (definitely not accessible for people of size or with disabilities).

I have politely written to management and received no response. The 35-minute commute to the only other lap pool around Dallas is sounding better by the minute.

I was a loyal client since 2007, I froze my membership in 2021, just came back this year. I was hurt to see the gym in the condition I saw it in January 2024, ripped sofas, the equipment looks like it needs an upgrade. carpet was filthy. dust all over the building. this isn't the 24 hours I last used in 2021. the place looks rundown.
