I’m extremely disappointed with the management and operations at this location. The gym is consistently unreliable about opening on time—and on many days, it doesn’t open at all. This has become a recurring issue on weekends, holidays, and even regular mornings, making it impossible to rely on this gym for a consistent workout schedule.

The general manager and weekend/holiday staff do not seem to take the posted hours seriously, and it shows. Members organize their routines around these hours, and the constant closures and late openings are completely unacceptable.

At this point, I believe this gym needs a total overhaul of its management and staff. Honestly, another gym brand taking over this location would probably deliver better reliability and service than what members are receiving now.

Until major changes are made, I cannot recommend this location to anyone seeking a dependable gym.

Prague is a poor example of leadership and integrity. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS WITH YOUR CARD. I was told it was $39 to join and $9 a month. Next month $89. The guy filled out my signatures and falsified documents. ILLEGAL PRACTICES. When I told PRAGUE he said I signed up for it. When in fact I saw him turn the computer and begin to sign up and click on things while I was walking away. Lied told me it was 46 to join $10 a month, billed me $80 following month. FRAUD. Very dishonest people. STAY AWAY POOR MANAGEMENT.

I’ve been a member here for months, drawn by the gym’s size and extensive free-weight selection, the only real advantage this facility offers. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This is easily the most poorly maintained gym I’ve ever used.
Equipment Issues (Ongoing for Months): At least half the treadmills are consistently out of order.
Multiple stair climbers are broken or unusable.
More than half the strength machines are either non-functional, missing parts, or in disrepair.

Facility Cleanliness & Hygiene: Restrooms are routinely filthy: overflowing toilets, no soap at sinks, and standing water on the floors.
Paper towel dispensers for wiping down equipment are frequently empty, making it impossible to maintain basic hygiene.

Despite being the largest gym in the area, the persistent neglect is unacceptable. I’ve spoken with numerous members, and not one has expressed satisfaction, most are actively hoping a better alternative opens nearby. If you don’t specifically need the free-weight variety, I strongly recommend avoiding this gym. The ongoing issues aren’t temporary; they’ve been consistent month after month. Until management invests in proper upkeep, this place will continue to fall short. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.

⁸RAY the front desk attendant wants to go around knocking aggressively on the restroom door Twice like he's some Mafia Tax collector and then when asked about it gets surprised, in his words that im "PRESSED" about it like I should be okay with him banging on doors, if the restroom is being used, wait you're turn, you are hired to be amicable and polite and provide kind service not be some thug banging on restroom doors when they are being occupied. Now i see why so many 24hr fitness gyms are closing down, they are most likely all hiring rude and overly aggressive people like this guy. "You seem pressed" he said , like he wouldn't be upset if someone kept BANGING "knocking" on the restroom door while he was trying to take a shower. All with a smirk on his face like it's cool to act that way. NOT COOL ESE.
Aside from the front desk attendant banging on restroom doors like some mobster, the GYM is nicely taken care of in my opinion.

It’s now over an hour past opening, and no one has shown up to open the gym. Many members have been waiting outside and in their cars for more than 30 minutes, and quite a few have already left. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time this has happened — it’s becoming the standard at this location.

This gym has so much potential, but the lack of accountability, management, and leadership is obvious. It’s disappointing to see such poor reliability from a brand like 24 Hour Fitness. I’ll be looking for another gym, because this issue clearly isn’t being addressed.

Don’t bother showing up at opening time to work out. On too many occasions I have had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for someone to finally show up.

Equipment will be broken for weeks to months, more often than not it’s some of the most popular equipment, such as cable machines. On that note, there is not enough of the most popular equipment, so you are almost guaranteed to have to race others to grab a piece of equipment once it finally opens up.

I really wish I’d taken a tour before signing a year-long contract. After having such a great experience at the Richardson location, I assumed the Rockwall location would offer the same standard. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

The facility itself feels run down. The aquatics area is rusty, the steam room rarely works and the ceiling looks corroded, and while the sauna is functional, it’s almost always overcrowded. The workout equipment, however, is great quality and well-maintained, so no complaints there.

What does bother me is the locker room atmosphere. There always seem to be people hanging around after getting dressed, which feels uncomfortable when they’re just standing around near others’ belongings. On the positive side, the members themselves are friendly and welcoming, which gives the place a family vibe.

Overall, it feels like management has let this location go, which is disappointing because it has a lot of potential.

This place is absolutely putrid. It has always been this way, but lately it has become worse. Today, I asked an employee who was sitting down on his phone, “who is responsible for cleaning around here?” His response was that “the cleaning company hasn’t been showing up due to their budget.” So let me get this straight, a 24 hour employee, is sitting on his butt looking at his phone while there’s poop on the toilet and garbage is overflowing. This place screams laziness. I’m incredibly fed up with the lackadaisical attitude of the employees when it comes to cleanliness here. The water fountains are gross, The showers are absolutely filthy, there has been a pair of underwear on the ground in the men’s locker room for over a week. This place is a joke. The only saving grace is the gentleman who takes care of the pool. If it wasn’t for him, this facility would not receive a star.

The staff at this location aren’t doing their job by ensuring the steam room is turned on when needed. Most locations consistently have issues with their steam rooms, and even at the one where it’s supposedly working, the employees fail to manage it properly. I drove 30 minutes specifically for the steam room, only to find it off, forcing me to use the sauna instead of getting what I came for.

The WORST of the 24hr fitness clubs in the metro area on multiple fronts:
1- cleanliness, the place is disgusting everywhere. You walk in and you’ll see trash left on stair masters (if they are working), the floor of the basketball court is absolutely nasty, most likely never gets swept, regularly see junk on machines (again if they are not out of service), grease, trash, etc. with covid just behind us, this is truly shocking to me.
2- equipment maintenance and upkeep is horrible. I’ve never walked in to this place with less than 2-3 stair masters completely out of order, or several of their capabilities nonfunctional, and several machines completely broken down, missing parts or not functioning as they should. And for each its weeks to months to never for them to be fixed.
3- when you walk in the door, staff is either no where to be seen, or an individual is so involved in whatever their doing on their phone that they don't even lift their head to see who the hell just walked in, or a group of 2-3 people so involved in some BS conversation that they don’t notice you’re coming in, or don't give a damn to notice.

He gave me a fitness assessment explaining me what type of workout and meal plan I need to reach my fitness goals. He has a lot of experience training athletes and also total beginners like myself. Before meeting Ray I was intimidated by the gym because never had the proper guidance, now I will be training with him 3 times a week

This location is absolutely diabolical and disgusting.
I paid for a 1 year contract up front. I was told that i will not be charged again, unless i want to renew that contract.
I constantly dealt with broken equipment, disgusting cleanliness standards and the locker rooms were completely destroyed.
Employees refuse to help women when they are being blatantly harassed. One man took photos of another customer and the employees did nothing about it.
After 8 months at this location, I was using the cable machine when a very aggressive man started threatening me without provocation. I went to the desk for help and the employees did nothing.
Other customers dealt with that man.
I had enough and found another gym.

The next day i went in to cancel my membership. I was told it's a one year contract and it won't charge me again by girl at the front desk. This was in April or May.

Yesterday i was charged $250 to my card.

I called in and had to call twice in order to reach Prav the GM. He refused to help refund the charge claiming that i hadn't cancelled my agreement and it's a reoccurring charge.

I had specifically gone in and asked about my membership to avoid having this happen.

I am a single mother.
250$ is a lot of money in my home.

Prav made it absolutely clear that he is unwilling to take accountability for the poor training on part of workers who admitted to not knowing that the account was recurring.

I’ve been coming here since 2006, the gym these days seems to be poorly managed, much of the equipment is the original equipment from when they originally opened this gym and the equipment is poorly maintained if maintained at all (even simple stuff like bent carabiners that are easy to replace, obviously a risk for injury at that point). Many of the pads are completely worn down to the base. When equipment completely breaks it will often be out of order for months. I can’t speak on the women’s bathroom but the men’s bathroom is pretty disgusting and the lavatory faucets are always in bad shape, I definitely wouldn’t want to walk in there barefooted after I swim in the pool which often has debris in the bottom. The gym itself is very dirty, dust and hair balls everywhere

Update 4/20/25, nothing much has changed, the gym remains in a very poor condition, mold fests in the shower areas, sewer smell in the clothing drying machine which today I noticed it was not hooked up to the drain underneath, so that water coming out of your clothes comes down on the ground leaving a big puddle. It's so unfortunate that this place has so much potential, but it's not being managed properly by customer oriented people.
Used to be a good gym, hours are very limited after covid emerged, Covid is over and they still refuse to adjust their hours to make it accessible to the members on a daily basis...It can get very crowded and their schedule is not even close to the schedule of a small gym. They claim they dont have enough people late in the day to justify staying late, however when I get there at 8-9pm its usually still full. And they start calling to remind people of the closing time at 8:30 which means you are aware that those people will stay if you dont kick them out, On Friday they close at 9pm, Sat- Sun at 8pm - not reasonable at ALL. Equipment breaks and no maintenance or replacement is done, such as the Main ceiling clock, and the vacuum clothing drainer in the locker room. I kept telling the staff at the front desk that their faucets in the locker room were all broken at one point except one. they just replaced some of them with manual handle faucet which is a downgrade from the motion sensed. I was asked to complete a review, and with all the negatives, the manager (Ryan) called me. I know there is nothing much he can do as he is unable to budget without approval from his superiors, but I see other 24 hr fitness doing better in the area and have more flexible hours ( 24 hrs). I made him aware that recently I left the shower 4 min after the closing hour, and one of the night staff was waiting for me with a dead bolt cutter in the shower area and told me he was about to clip my lock. He tried to justify it as a protocol to ensure that no one leaves anything overnight in the lockers, however , I would assume that this is done after ensuring that there is no members left in the facility, which was not the case because he was in the locker room talking to other guys when I entered the shower at 8 pm of that weekend. Its disappointing to see a nice facility with a great potential for success to fall apart slowly.

Update:
For over a month The shower in the wet area is broken, but they have they pool and hot tub open. People get out from the sauna and steam room and straight to the pool and hot tub. Can you blame them ? That's disgusting but management are to blame.
The hot tub is overflowing making the water more sanitary.

It’s an ok gym. Honestly if there was a more convenient option I’d go there. Machines constantly broken and not maintained. The staff lets anyone in without checking if they paid membership…..alllll time time. Saw a group of five guys walk in not a single one signed in or anything. The cleanliness of the facility was a huge reason why I could continue with my membership here. I have been a member of 24 hour fitness since 2009. I am in awe of the current condition of this gym. It’s absolutely disgusting and has been a huge disappointment. 1. Everything is always broken or needs maintenance. From machines to drinks. I’ve never experienced a gym where equipment or retail services are down. Then you have water leaking from the ceiling, 3days straight.

Not only have I been a gym member for years, I have tolerated the equipment and lack of cleaning for a long time. But a new thing lately has not only pissed me off but a lot of patrons that come to the gym at the 8:00am time. Every single Wednesday, the sauna gets turned off for cleaning at 8:30am when the gym is full of patrons, and is for hours after. We at least deserve access to the amenities whenever we would like. This is a task that should be done at 10:00pm at night when the gym is empty. It’s absolutely absurd. Many regular patrons have this very some frustration but say nothing to the lack of management or staff that is behind the desk at 8:30am on a week day.

Gym is very crowded due to the lack workers checking in people in the front. Machines are old and broken which are a huge safety hazard. Restrooms are always dirty. The water fountains are also dirty. The floor is grimy with cockroaches crawling around. Guest don’t respect the sauna rules and fight about it.

I’ve been a member at 24 Hour Fitness in Rockwall for years, but I’m very disappointed with my recent experiences. The facility is not clean, and the smell, especially in the restrooms, is awful and needs immediate attention. The equipment is very old, and many machines don’t work properly.

Additionally, I paid for my membership in full for the year since 2022, but every time I visit, I’m stopped and told my payment needs updating. This has happened repeatedly, even though my account is fully paid. It’s frustrating to deal with this every visit. I hope these issues can be addressed soon.

This gym is gross, which is surprising given how occupied it is! What I mean by that is given the daily member count, you think dues would be spent regularly upgrading equipment as well as regular cleaning. Instead, equipment is rusty, the gym smells like body odor. And the gym is abysmal! From dead spots in the floor, to gum being worn into the floor, to dirty vents, to rims with tattered nets to missing rims and backboards altogether!! I’m at a complete loss as to how this place is still up and running. If anyone wanted to put this gym out of business just open a facility with better ventilation, newer equipment, and a functioning staff dedicated to cleanliness and upkeep.

I have been a member @ 24 hr fitness for about 9 months now and decided to purchase personal training. My experience w the trainer was good. However the club decided to bill me one month later for another training package. I went in to the club to discuss this w the manager that signed me up originally. Told him i was only interested in doing one package of training sessions & they tried to bill me again which was unauthorized. He said that he would take care of it. He obviously did not take care of it because They continued to try to charge my card and then their billing department kept calling me. I have told them 3 times now and they continue to call me. I would not recommend purchasing personal training from 24 Hour Fitness. It has become quite a hassle.

I’m not a complainer but here we are. Just don’t bother. I signed up online before looking at this pig pen of a gym. There’s gum on the floor in most places including about 2000 pieces as you enter. There’s dead skin on virtually all of the free weights and they obviously save a bundle by not having a cleaning crew come by….like at all. Most equipment is rusted and in disrepair. There’s dust and sweat stains everywhere and the showers are all moldy and mildewed. This is a ringworm haven so go to Planet fitness down the street where I heard they updated all of their equipment a few days ago. I don’t even know how this place gets away with this when there are better options to choose from around Rockwall.

I have been a member for 7 months now and this place is NEVER clean. Literal dust bunnies everywhere. Mold.. MOLD on the steam room door and inside… I’m supposed to believe it’s cleaned once a week for 4 hours? Broken door handles, the steam room door handle is currently a wet, nasty SHOE LACE!! A toilet seat in the women’s restroom that is too small for the toilet. This is not an expensive item to replace. It’s a child size toilet seat on the toilet and it’s been there since February.
The floors are so unbelievably disgusting and have never been vacuumed.. never!! Don’t even get me started on the overwhelming amount of broken machines, the squat rack that has been sitting on the workout floor, un-assembled, for months!! The sauna has now been out of order for a week(edit- 2.5 weeks now.), is that going to be broken for months too?? Just tell me now cause I keep getting told it’ll be fixed in a couple days and then it isn’t.
Speaking of the sauna.. I’ve seen COCKROACHES in the sauna walking around under the wooden slats and in the drain line around the pool. Your company should be ashamed and the managers who run this place should be REPLACED. The only reason you have so many members at this location is because there is no other gym in the Rockwall area with a sauna. I promise that the second another gym opens on the area with a sauna.. you will 100% lose me as a member. Even if that gym costs twice the price, I will switch.

On top of all the other comments regarding the gym going down hill, they play too many games with the pricing. I will never agree to pay the $59.00 annual fee; even when you pay in full, they come back and charge you for this separately a few weeks later. I have been a member for 15 years but I'm done giving away money just for the access when these people could care less about anything but taking money and not giving adequate services or reasoable pricing or adjustments when services are not up to par as everyone can see below with the pics of the steamroom, etc.

I never give bad reviews but today I think I will. I tried to cancel my membership in June and a girl helped me. I forgot her name. After handling this matter, I asked twice if my membership fee would be deducted again in July. Her answer was yes. But today, I checked my bank information again and it was deducted for July. Then I called and talked to the manager. He said that he could not refund the membership fee to you because there was no record. This was not the customer's fault, but the negligence of the employee, which caused me to pay for July. His answer was that it could not be refunded. The environment was messy and the sports equipment was often broken. If you are considering going, think carefully about whether this is a good gym.

Does this gym employ a cleaning staff? This is the dirtiest gym on the planet. Dust and trash everywhere. This gym was nice before Covid but they are no longer 24hrs and apparently forgot the location of their mop closet. Disappointed. I cancelled my 24$ a month planet fitness membership to come here thinking I was getting an upgrade. (24hr costs 34.99$) And while the pools and basketball courts in theory sound great, unfortunately it’s hard to enjoy anything in this gym as it is so dirty. Dusty, stained, rusty, just overall really gross. The lockerroom had toilet paper and clumps of hair everywhere, I would NOT feel comfortable changing into a swimsuit in this locker room nor would I feel comfortable using the pool, for fear it’s never been cleaned. The machines have rust and dust on them and are generally outdated. It’s insane to me how I paid less at planet fitness and every gym I’ve ever been to of theirs is immaculate. I don’t understand how 24 hour can fail so miserably at this. I have been to 3 24 hour locations in the area (Mesquite and Richardson and Rockwall) and unfortunately I could say the exact same about those locations too. I will be cancelling and going back to planet fitness.

I love the variety of the gym. I go here everyday. My issues with the gym is that everything needs to be updated. The equipment is falling apart, almost all it looks like it's 15+ years old. My biggest complaint about this gym is its cleanliness and the staff. It is so dirty. The women’s bathroom toilets and sinks have been broken for months. The showers are disgusting and barely running. Trash is always piled up and there’s no way to clean machines because they don’t keep cleaner or paper towels stocked for people. There’s never any toilet paper or hand soap in bathrooms. The hand dryers don’t work. It’s just a mess. On top of that, the staff is rude and seems like they hate working there. they are always just sitting around and don’t talk to you. At 8:01 on a Saturday the front desk guy (black guy with longer hair) was screaming across the gym for people to get out. the hours suck, they close 9pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends. It sucks because the size and location of the gym is good. I wish management would get a good staff that cares and would keep the facilities actually functioning.

This gym is a big gym in rockwall and a lot of people come here, yet the machines are very outdated and old. The gym isn’t very clean either. Even on slow days there is not ever any paper towels or spray to wipe down the machine yet there’s always someone at the desk just standing there it’s frustrating. They don’t have anyone cleaning the floor. Also the restroom is really gross, there is typically only one toilet working at a time. I wouldn’t recommend a membership here.

My closet gym but It’s so disgusting.. the women’s bathrooms, showers.
