The swim coaches are great but be prepared for frequent cancellations and last minute staff changes. My son is autistic and the staff has a lot of patience and will work with your child. My biggest complaint is that our sessions were frequently cancelled for one reason or another and I would either find out when I arrived to the pool or 30 minutes before class. My son was so frustrated that class was canceled so often and that it wasn’t worth his meltdown. The pool is warm for the kids but that means as a parent you are waiting in a hot room with limited ventilation.

I was referred to All Things Swim from a friend of mine who's son is Autistic as I was looking for a Swim school for my Autistic grandson.
The day of our first session came and it was in the middle of the day so I took my grandson out of daycare and arrived at the school and doors were locked/lights off. I texted the owner and she said she was in a car accident and she had someone on their way to instruct the session. We waited nearly 15-20 until I texted her back to find out no one was on their way she couldn't reach them and never texted me to let me know.
After this event I was NOT going to bring my grandson back as it was a waste of time however, my friend convinced me to try again and I figured ok I mean things happen, right?!
Second session was great! She is a very good instructor and during that session I could see why they urged me to give t hem another try.
Third Session: Again we arrived and the doors were locked/lights off. I had texted the owner once again asking what the deal was and she said she was on vacation that her daughter would be there to sub for her. Well 15-20 minutes pass again so I text her back and she said her daughter was on her way. Well her finally arrived with the worst attitude as if we interrupted her day. No hello, no I apologize for being late, nothing. She didn't even teach my grandson for the entire allotted session.
This was my last straw and I decided to try a different swim school and it has been wonderful knowing someone will always be there at the actual time of given.
I really wish I would have had a better experience as the owner/instructor is very good at what she does.

My grandchildren have been enrolled for several months with Ms. Emily. They get so excited to go to swim lessons and look forward to them every week. Some days the girls do really well and listen then other days the instructors need to redirect them. I highly recommend Ms. Emily and her team at All Things Swim Humble!

My 7 month old son has been going there for swim lessons since the beginning of May and he has been getting acclimated to being on his back with ears in the water and he has already made improvements, he will now lay on his back for a couple seconds and he is already starting to kick his legs when they are swimming with him in the water. Coach Isabella took the time in the beginning to get him comfortable with her and now he is all smiles with her. I highly recommend them for getting your baby started in swim lessons.

I highly recommend All Things Swim. Ms. Emily and her staff are incredibly talented and professional. My kids have made huge improvements in the past 10 weeks. One of my kids had a drowning accident a few years ago and was terrified of the water, but he has overcome his fears and is swimming now thanks to Ms. Emily and All Things Swim. My family and I are forever greatful for Ms. Emily and All Things Swim.

My daughter just started at All Things Swim last week and so far everything has been so smooth! The owner personally answers all of your questions and accommodates your needs. The lessons are very full for 30 minutes and my daughter already feels a bit more comfortable in the water. Some of the instructors are a lot more experienced and confident than others and you can choose which instructor you want your child to learn from, which is great.

Update 11/8/23: My child is now 3 and has been swimming independently since she turned 2. See us on tiktok MamaNBabykins. Emily trained her. She has been out of lessons for a long time and I have NO worries about this kid in the water.
These people are fantastic! They really know how to connect with your child. On the first day I went, I had no clue how to get in the door. You can clearly see the pool through the windows at the front of the building, but there is a cute little resale shop to the side.. and the entrance to the pool is on the other side of the resale shop. The instructors stay in the water and you bring your kid to them. The first time I did this, Coach Ellee was able to calm my 17 month old daughter down right away and get her attention. She really has a wonderful, calm, and engaging demeanor, so great for the babies! One of the benefits of taking your child to this place is that your child will get one on one instruction and you don’t need to get in the water with them. The instructors don’t just teach your child how to swim, they teach them how to focus despite distraction, how to calm themselves, how to trust, and so on. They are good role models and they will never make you or your child feel like you are just dollar signs to them. They will not push your child beyond their limits and traumatize them either. They let the kids feel their feelings and help them learn how to deal with it and return to task. What they offer is about so much more than swimming safety, it’s whole child development.

I whole-heartedly recommend Emily & her team @ All Things Swim! My LO started when she was 2 and looks forward to her weekly lessons with her Coach “Emmy”. We split lessons with a friend to start and later graduated to full lessons - though we were tearful in the beginning (as to be expected), we have progressed so much over the last year and can’t wait to see how much we grow from here. The site is easy to send/receive prompt communication, sign-up for classes/instructors on days/times convenient for us (or schedule make-up sessions as needed), and the price is very reasonable. I love that I can sit poolside (not behind a glass wall) but have the option to step into the family room if needed - we always stop-in after lessons regardless for my LO to grab a prize and drink after her lesson. The coaches I’ve witnessed or personally experienced truly care about the kids they teach - couldn’t imagine going elsewhere. ❤️

I’ve taught swim lessons for 6 years but it’s totally different with your own kids apparently 🙈 I love how straight forward and firm yet caring ATS has been! My eldest learned to swim in a month and my little one who’s more nervous about water in his face is coming along more slowly but surely! Would recommend ATS for everyone!

Had to take my daughter out because of the teacher. My daughter had a horrible experience in the water due to lack of experience with children. Daughter was not ready to be let go and the teacher let her sink and let her panick and struggle. I get its part of the process but this was not how my son learned and he is really good swimmer due to care and attention Houston swim club gave him.

I do not reccomend this place. Emily was very impatient with my child. I had to pull her out mid lesson because I got very uncomfortable with how she was being towards her especially with how her tone changed when talking to my daughter. She was a little too forceful for my liking. Especially when my daughter was only a year old.
My daughter did so well with any of the other coaches and smiled the whole time except for when she was with emily. I'm not sure why but my daughter just did not do well with her. As an owner/coach I feel like she should have noticed and had my daughter switch to somebody else when it obviously wasn't working with her. I ended up pulling her out completely from having lessons there.

Be prepared for them to kick your child out of the program if you express concerns or dissatisfaction.
My 3 year old had 4 different instructors over the course of her first 5 lessons.
She was getting more and more anxious because she never knew who to expect. I emailed to say that because of all the switches she wasn’t doing well with lessons and I would like to cancel all July lessons for the 3 yr old (since she splits a lesson with the one year old, that also meant cancelling the 1 yr old) and receive a refund since I felt 4 instructor changes in the first 5 lessons was unreasonable.
Instead of expressing empathy, concern or understanding, they then called to inform me that since I was dissatisfied with the program for my 3 yr old, that my 5 yr old was also no longer welcome to attend.
I assumed this was a misunderstanding and tried to explain that my 5 yr old was doing great in their program, it’s just the 3yr olds anxiety over the multiple changes that is the problem.
They refused this and re-asserted that my 5 yr old is no longer welcome to attend because I “don’t trust the program”
Apparently they do not understand that different children have different limitations and abilities and what works for one child may not work for another.
And apparently they think it’s perfectly normal and acceptable for a child to have 4 different teachers in their first 5 lessons.
I am absolutely flabbergasted that this is how they choose to run their company and I very much regret wasting hundreds of dollars on them.
She then proceeded to tell people that I made “threats”
The “threat” Emily refers to in her comment below is the fact that I told her co-owner Travis that if they were going to kick out my 5 yr old as well, then I would be compelled to share my poor experience far and wide.
If they receive that as a threat then that’s a reflection on them being afraid of the consequences for their actions 🤷🏼♀️
In addition, I requested from Travis that he please email all this to me so that I WOULD have it in writing, and he refused.

As first time parents, my husband and I didn’t know where to begin with swim lessons. We just knew we need to do something quick because our son had no fear of the water. We signed him up for semi-private lessons at a facility. He had recently turned 2 and was put with a child much older than him. The first lesson was horrible as he was pulled under the water with no warning. He became so afraid of the water after that one lesson that he cried to even take a bath that night. During his second lesson I became so upset, I told my husband to go in and get him out of the water. After one month and his fear only growing, we pulled him out and didn’t know where we were going to go from there.
Fast forward to that summer, I was able to snag a coveted spot with Ms. Emily. The first few lesson were hard and there were tears but Ms. Emily has a special gift when working in the water with children. She is loving, patient, consistent yet firm. She establishes a bond with each child so they know they can trust her. She was a God send and exactly what my son needed. She builds a rapport with each family and it is evident that she unconditionally loves your child as she would her own.
My son has swam with most of the instructors at All Things Swim. Each one is an extension of Emily’s teaching. They are consistent, patient and fun. Each lesson ends with a few minutes of fun time, children always leave the water on a positive note. Our instructors always greet us by name as soon as we walk in door. It makes you feel special, not like you are just another client. My son loves going to swim and cries when it’s time to leave.
Ms. Emily and her team have built a solid swim foundation for my son. I no longer have a fear when he is around water. I know that he is a strong swimmer and knows his survival skills to safely get out. I love watching him grow in his confidence and swimming abilities.

Emily was recommended to me from multiple friends as a great swim teacher. I had some fears and concerns around someone teaching my son to swim as he is non-verbal and autistic. I wanted someone who was familiar with special needs and who had compassion and the perseverance necessary to teach a kid with special needs.
I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she had extensive experience with teaching kids on the spectrum. From the first lesson it was clear that she did. She was familiar with ABA techniques and sensory issues and aggression. I was so relieved!
Since working with Emily, my son has gained confidence swimming and can roll and float on his own. Though he progresses at his own pace and has good and bad days, Emily is patient and loving. We will continue to see her for swim lessons as my son loves the water and it is therapeutic for him.
