I've been training with Alvaro for over 5 months now, and I can confidently say he is one of the best personal trainers I’ve ever worked with. After trying several trainers in the past, Alvaro stands out for his exceptional ability to create a personalized training plan tailored to my unique diet and goals.

If I could leave 10 stars here, I would. I am a Dallas transplant, a busy entrepreneur and business owner, and someone who spent the last 8 years of my life completely neglecting my physical health. It was easy to use excuses like my career, busy personal life, anything I could think of to justify why I hadn't/couldn't commit to working out or getting in great physical shape. I always convinced myself I would do it at a later date.

Finally, when 2023 came, I had had enough. I was tired of looking in the mirror seeing the scrawny guy looking back at me. The truth is, though I had convinced myself for far too long that I would start getting into physical shape "eventually", something inside of me pushed me to take action and I knew that in order for me to truly commit and stay consistent with this goal, I needed a personal trainer. So in the first week of January, I did a Google search for local trainers in Dallas and Alvaro just happened to pop up among the top that were listed.

Here's where I will do my best to explain what this guy has done for me and why I will be forever grateful for what he has helped me accomplish.

The very first thing Alvaro will ask you is what your goals are. Sounds simple, but the truth is that there are an infinite number of "personal trainers" out there who will gladly take your money at a premium price, stand there while you throw around weights, run on a treadmill, etc. and not be truly committed to your results. Alvaro is different.

He will take your goals just as seriously as you take them. He will tailor your nutrition plan to coincide with your workout plan to ensure you achieve your goals; he has built a fantastic app that will track your progress and lay out exactly what you need to do outside of the gym to accomplish your goals; he will follow up with you outside of the hours you pay him to answer questions or check in with you (especially early on); he is all about form, which is critically important and something I RARELY see other trainers paying such close attention to at the places I've worked out at.

I am currently wrapping up my second package with him. I have stuck with it since January, coming up on 60 sessions, three times every week for an hour, and it has been about 10 years since I've felt this good about myself. Easily the best I've ever felt about my body, my confidence levels have boosted overall, my relationships have improved, all of it. Looking in the mirror feels great now - I just feel healthier overall.

In almost 6 months I have gained roughly 18 lbs in muscle mass because of Alvaro's personal training. When he and I wrapped up our first session I weighed in at 160 lbs. Today, I am teetering around 178 lbs with a goal of reaching 185-190 lbs by the fall (hopefully more).

Finally, Alvaro is just a downright good guy. He won't let conversation take over the workout by any means, but he is humble and does a good job of building relationships with his clients which I can also appreciate. This, coupled with the results, is why I wouldn't choose anyone else in the Dallas area to train with in the future. Needless to say, I'm about to sign up for my third package.

Working out, exercising, is a commitment. Some reading this may not be ready for the personal commitment it takes to hire a personal trainer. Working out alone won't yield results. What I've quickly learned is that if you do not follow the plan he methodically lays out for whatever your end goal is, outside of the training sessions, you may want to take a bit more time to work on your mental commitment. Though, if you're ready for a true transformation, I would not advise looking at anyone other than this guy.

I have been training with Alvaro for almost 4 months, and believe he is the one of the most experienced & committed trainers around. He is very good technically focusing on form to get a good understanding of each workout. The workout plan as well as meal plan is very well devised considering all my requirements. Alvaro is truly a profesional. I’ve had 4 personal trainers before and no one is as focused or cared more about my results than him. I believe a trainer has to understand their client’s goals, body style, physical limitations, and create a setting of open, honest communication before, during and in between workout sessions. I have found all of this working with Alvaro.

I tend to workout old school. Push hard, lift hard and heavy often with aches and pains to follow. When I started to work with Alvaro he retrained me to lift slower, smarter, starting lighter and moving to heavy weights based on my daily performance and ability. I have been able to move more weight with more time under tension without aches and pains for days after my workouts but I definitely feel like I worked out hard.

He is very personable, I find it easy to chat and visit between sets. Alvaro has an easy going and upbeat personality that can get hyped as needed when he sees I need to be pushed to reach my goals.

My body shape changed after working out for a few months. My chest, arms, back and shoulders are bigger, and stronger than ever. Adding Alvaro’s nutrition guide and simple cardio tricks has contributed to better sleep at night and more focus during the day.

I have worked out with other trainers over the years but Alvaro understands and focuses on my goals every time we workout. He asks about my diet, water intake, how I feel and sleep then offers helpful ideas to improve each of the areas that I find difficult to improve. 5 Stars!

I only have great things to say about Alvaro. When I first began training with Alvaro, I lost 22 lbs of fat in only two and a half months. If you want results, do what I did. Show up and always practice exactly what he teaches you. Diet and exercise always go hand in hand, and he has superb knowledge of both. He is challenging, but the training with the education are definitely worth it. He is very motivational in all aspects of the work out, the time you have when you are not training, and your diet. He has amazing knowledge of proper techniques so you gain the most from every workout. He is committed to your goals, and he will inspire you to maintain your goals. I highly, without reservation, recommend Alvaro as a personal trainer.

Hands down the best personal trainer I've ever had, and I've had several over the years! I've struggled with my weight ever since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I thought there was nothing I could do to be slim again until a friend recommended me to Alvaro.
