I do enjoy this gym, BUT...
The facility is nice, clean, great equipment that they fix very quick if broken. The staff is very attentive and kind. Even have bonus stuff like InBody, smoothies, and a sauna! MY ONLY QUALM with this place, is TOO MANY KIDS ARE ALLOWED IN. I dont mean 18/19 year olds. I mean like 6, 8 or 10 year olds. I come to workout to get away from everything else and pump some iron with like-minded adults, and kids break that illusion for me. Im not saying 1 or 2 kids... its like 5 or 6 at a time. I just don't think a gym is somewhere they should be, especially at this frequency.

I switched to this gym from golds and such a better experience. It does get busy at times but I’ve never had to wait for equipment . Awesome gym. They hooked me up with a month long temporary membership while I was in town. At the end of that month, they gave me a free workout even though my membership expired 2 days before that. This is the best gym I have been apart of and I have had quite a few different memberships. Equipment is extremely well maintained. I have seen multiple different machines have issues and it never took more then 24 hrs to get it back up. Also it seems like a new machine is being installed every week. Plenty of dumbbells and plates for all equipment even when the gym is packed. Everything is very clean and sanitary and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Also they make a delicious protein smoothie. I highly recommend you make this your forever gym.

This gym has incredible potential to become a top-tier destination. They’re in the process of upgrading equipment and have recently added new dumbbells. The staff is outstanding—welcoming and friendly—and they offer a solid selection of pre-workout, post-workout, and hydration RTD options. However, the music is typically too low and often geared toward what I’d imagine a 13 yr old girl listens to while working out, which might not suit most gym-goers. The lighting could also be improved, especially for those who create content. Overall, it’s a great space with room for a few adjustments to enhance the experience.

I been coming to this gym in the mornings for about three weeks now and it’s starting to become one of the best highlights of my day. The staff is friendly, and the people coming here are friendly. Has never been too busy to where I can’t finish a workout. Well spaced out and plenty of workout equipment. The best part is the sauna and they replaced the old one with a new one and it’s perfect. A lot of equipment is heavily worn and falling apart. It’s hard to believe that they have reinvested (if at all) into the facility or equipment and it shows because It’s run down. Bathrooms are limited, Trash cans are small and limited. The entrance reminds me of a tiki hut without the palm tree leaves. It’s sooo outdated.

Suggests: Upgrading to the open lid 35- 50 gallon trash cans & add more.
Upgrade old equipment or refinish the paint and replace upholstery.
Add Atlantis (Canada ), Panatta (Italy) and Pure Iron Strength (US) equipment.
Add more leg press machines (Watson, Atlantis, Etc)
Add updated dumbbell set along with the dumbell wide grip rotating grips because currently the dumbbells are loose, rusty and are a direct representation of the care the facility is under. Dumbells racks/dumbbells need a total overhaul.

Invest in the equipment and facility and you will see the value added, satisfaction of current members and an increase in customers.

Two star at best. They have a good variety of machines, that’s it with the positive. All the workers there are extremely off putting, rude, and just not helpful at all. The gym is consistently really hot in the summertime or cold in the winter.

I was on vacation in New Braunfels for the week and found American Fitness was close by. I was able to drop in daily & get my workout done first thing. They have all of the equipment & free weights you could ask for and made it easy to stay on track while I was in town.

The staff makes this place feel better than just a gym. Everyone at the front desk is encouraging and feels like a friend after just a few visits. They are willing to help you become a better you and it is rare you can buy get to the machines or weights you want.

I’ve been here over 7 years. If you want to lift heavy, you can. If you want to do all cardio, you can. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but there’s a lot on the inside. Hours are great and they have someone cleaning constantly. The new ownership/management strives to keep the equipment up to date and maintained well.

Been going to American Fitness for close to six years. I had tried other fitness locations in town but the bigger attraction was the variety of free weight and nautilus equipment, the incredibly warm staff, a very personable owner who is on the premises quite often and of course, the hot sauna! I've yet to even "hear" of any other location within this town that has a dry sauna. People want dry saunas. "I LIKE" dry saunas! What's wrong with liking dry saunas?! To top it all off, its open 24/7 most days. And, the small monthly fee is very reasonable. Plenty parking.
