Hey the gym is good but why dk the front desk look so depressed? They look like they aren't getting paid to greet and smile at people. I feel bad for them..im noticing this everytime I come in. Do not bother getting personal training sessions there that gym will rip you off because no matter if u cancelled the sessions they will continue to charge you. They have been known to deceptively hold the date when you canceled say you didn't cancel in that time frame. I know personal trainers that left and have complained that the gym doesn't have a clear process cancellation. The gym is more concerned with getting people to sign up and having your bank card ready to draft. I would recommend signing up with LA Fitness as they don't have any issues with cancelations of memberships for training. The real bad thing with Amp Gessner is that when you call for a manager or his boss above that you get the run around. There is no corporate like LA fitness to resolve problems. I found out this gym is individual own. Its their rules and they can screw you out of money and taking money. My ex trainer said that their previous client struggled to get their money back. I got a charge of 1000.00 dollars one day. After not logging into the gym since this past July and never went back. I got the charge and decided to cancel the memebership completely. To all if you want to risk going to this gym on Gessner don't be surprised if they screw you like they did to me. The managers will not get back to you and the staff will always cover for them. Say bye bye to your hard earned money. You have been warned!

I love this gym. The new manager, Abel, is very helpful and full of positive energy. My personal trainer, Saily, has helped me so much. I really enjoy working out with her. She helps me with my workout routine and my nutrition plan. The equipment is new, the amenities are amazing. The babe cave is so cute! If I could give it 10 stars I would!

HORRIBLE place! I signed up for a personal trainer and he was let go a few days later. 4 different personal trainers in two months time. Then they continued to bill me after my contract was up. honestly the best gym in the surrounding area, I wouldn’t say it’s the best gym I’ve ever been to but it gets the job done and it’s a very nice newly updated gym. I am really disappointed in this location. I signed up for their top membership so that I would have access to more than just one location, but this location is closer to me. I'm so glad I got the multiple location option because this one is VERY disappointing. There's always loose weights in the strong pods, the recovery rooms are typically locked. The women's bathroom is always messy and dirty. This is shocking considering it's a new brand and location. Please improve on cleanliness. ensuring weights are reracked and water bottles are cleaned up around the gym. Other then that the amenities are cool and the gym is never crowded.

I like amp, I like the atmosphere of amp!!.. music be top tier … but one of the main reasons I signed up was because of the sauna!.. but lately the sauna in the women’s section doesn’t get as hot overall which messes up the workout experience. This is the third time I’ve come and the sauna heat is weak, even encountered other women saying the same thing I’ve been thinking. So by being that I have to go to PF center, because the amenities that I love will most likely not be standard. Maybe there should be a weekly maintenance to ensure quality for the best experience possible for your customers!.Hopefully this can be resolved quickly that way I can continue with my membership!..Signed a amp member

Amped Fitness is a really nice gym overall. One of the biggest pros for me is that it’s not too crowded, which makes working out much more comfortable. I also like that they have some smaller, more private workout spaces—perfect if you want a little extra privacy during your sessions.

The gym itself is a bit smaller than I expected, but it’s still well set up and pretty cool overall. They do a good job of keeping it clean, which I really appreciate.

If there’s one area they could improve on, it would be being a little more attentive with new customers. They show you around and try to introduce the gym, but it feels like they could use a bit more training in welcoming new members and explaining everything clearly.

Aside from that, I think it’s a solid place to work out. The atmosphere is good, and the location seems okay .

I recommend trying the gym out first prior to acquiring a membership. While they do have some nice amenities here and there, it is not worth a membership. It looks nice and new in the pictures but the day to day attendance is underwhelming. LOUD music, lack of equipment variety, and overcrowded during busy hours. The only thing this gym has going for it is 24/7 access where they blast their music during after hours. Did I mention how LOUD the music is? The restrooms are always dirty, lack soap or toilet paper. It is a pain to cancel, and a pain to workout in.

I just joined last week and i joined because i was going to join no matter what because I need a gym but they did nothing to try to get me to join. I was barely greeted when I came in and asked for a tour. Now a trainer did give me a tour and he was good. He was friendly and showed me around but it was rushed. I was going to dynamic and it’s just to far to go there on my busy days i needed something closer to home. Anyway what finally gave me the bad impression is the girl who signed me up just gave me the prices and says it’s going to …. Full price and I said oh the ad that brought me here said it would be $1.00 to sign up which in my opinion if you are trying to get sign ups you would offer that but she says okay well can you find that ad. I had to scroll all through social media until I found it. At some point she asked did you find it yet?? Anyway i finally did and showed her but as a person who is doing sign ups shouldn’t she already know how it works. Anyway i had been there once already so we will see how it goes but so far the interactions have been negative.

I just recently signed up for the revamped package after coming as a guest. First time I went I was impressed so I joined. The next time I went I noticed so many people in the areas that were designated for revamped members not to say that they didn’t have that particular membership as well but I noticed there was no way to really know who has base membership or higher. I honestly think there should be a place where you tap your card that will recognize you as a revamped member to access these amenities. After I left the gym I pondered on this so much that I called and asked how do you differentiate between the plans as anyone can just walk into these spaces as I did when I was a guest. The lady I spoke to said well if it becomes too crowded then they have staff members that will come around and check. I think that is ridiculous and I understand the gym is new and have things that need to be worked on but it’s really not fair that I’m paying for this package for these amenities and it’s gets to be accessed by people who may only have the standard membership that allows main floor only.

I have been an active member since July 2025 and I love this gym itself BUT there are some very concerning issues that need to be addressed and it is very alarming especially being a new gym.

1. Gym etiquette is non existent. People leave weights all over and worse of all people do not clean after them selves and leave water bottles or cans everywhere. To the point where I’m picking up bottles and wipes from the floor and throwing them away because of my fear of tripping and hurting myself.

2. Broken / Out of Order Machines- Since I joined the cable machine has been out in the girls room and it is still out of order and they are machines are all throughout the gym out of order for being a gym why is it taking so long for equipment to be fixed?

3. Staffing- I have been to the gym in numerous occasions during marketed staff hours and no one is there especially early in the morning and had issues getting in with my phone and tag. Resulting waiting for someone to leave in order for me to get access. Today I was there at 8am (staffed hour) and noone was there and I wanted to use the revamped room. If someone is not going to be there when they are suppose to then why advertise it?

This gym has so much potential , but management needs to do better managing it.

Have been coming to this location because Westbury location hasn't fixed their automatic lock to get in since opening day. But to be a new gym and machine seats already torn is crazy. Customers at this location are dirty. Theres a mess, seems they dont know where the trash can is. Bathroom smells badly, and pee all over the floor.

signed up for the VIP membership before their soft opening but decided to upgrade to revamped after a tour & speaking with john. he was super informative & helpful. I love that they have a girl’s only workout room. the amenities seem well worth the price. i’m super excited to have found a new home gym! it’s also a plus that they’re open 24 hours.

update: 5 stars —> 2 stars. honestly went down hill pretty fast. there’s always broken machines, weights never re-racked, dumbbells all over the floor. the gym etiquette here is the WORST I’ve experienced but I mean considering the area we’re in… I’m not exactly that surprised.

I came to Amped Fitness at the Gessner location out of curiosity because a new gym for only $14.99 a month with no contract. I used the free trial membership to check it out and I kind of like this workout floor. But I was wondering how a new gym got machines out of order so quickly. The locker room is weird. Shower was narrow and had no place for soap.

This gym went downhill quickly. Amped Fitness doesn't care about their employees or customers, ONLY about money. Amped Fitness baited employees and customers because it didn't stand by the principles it preached. The aesthetic is the only thing worth mentioning, and even though they have great equipment, half of the equipment wasn't set up correctly, screws and bolts were missing, after only a few weeks. They don't hold customers without gym manners accountable. And the lack of plates plus holders to hang them on when not in use is horrible. I can care less about the aesthetic if the atmosphere and culture aren't top tier. Based on management's mistakes, they also fire their top trainers at the drop of a dime. They lie about why they fire them instead of holding themselves accountable. I no longer want a membership and will take the L on the $86 annual fee. Boot camp on Wednesdays or Saturdays won't be the same without Coach B, but she is on to better.

I’ve tried ignoring the horrible customer service but it really gets to a point, everyone is so rude and unmotivated up until they see a buff guy or a pretty girl. I was waiting to be assisted to get access to massage chair (u have to go to front desk there’s no code) i pay for the more expensive membership i’m gonna use it so i’m waiting the workers just stare at me and completely ignore me while someone else was waiting behind me they got assisted. Yet i was blatantly ignored i left the gym right then and there everyone is so rude and mind you they do overcharge $86 that first month honestly not worth it they don’t clean either the girls restroom is a mess

I’ve been with Amp Fitness since July. I first tour in the beginning of June. I liked it It made me motivated to start my gym journey here .. However, I noticed that none of the machines are cleaned. People use the machines, but they don’t wipe them down after themselves. Also the Babe cave literally has dust everywhere like it has not been wiped for a while. And last but not least the pods are not clean. Ever since I saw the exercising in the pods is the same marks on the floor nothing is swept or mopped. It smells like old lemons. I never see anyone walk around cleaning anything especially that this place is a 24 hour. I was charge an annual fee a month after being with the gym. And I feel like this gym is getting dirty and dirtier so I’m not gonna be here for that long… and this is my experience not in the peak hours this is at 5 AM.

The staff here seems like they do not know what they were doing. I was trying to go through the member only door and I was stopped mid-unlocking though the app by one of the employees asking if I have the app to unlock the door. I said “yes I have the app” and he just continued to say I need the app to open the door, and proceed to shut the door on my face. At first when I signed up the gym it was great. But little by little this location is going down hill.

El peor lugar! JAMÁS agarren el plan de entrenamiento porque haces el contrato de 3 meses y luego cancelas para que no sigan cobrando pero ellos siguen cobrando, ya se lo hicieron a 4 personas más! The absolute worst place to trust with your bank account. Even after canceling my membership, I kept getting charged. The CEO either has no control over the staff or simply doesn’t care — either way, it’s a sign of poor leadership. Trying to get a refund is a complete nightmare. I am completly dissatisfied with the way the management handles anything, if you're gonna go, DO NOT get personal training. I have been double charged multiple times, which inconvenienced me right before my college classes started and I didn't have the money to pay for the classes. I understand is not outright the manager's fault but their bosses, and I know that one of the manager's quit because their superiors never helped getting anything resolved. They want to complain about the bad reviews but they won't do better. smh.

HORRIBLE customer service!!!

I came in needing some quick help (to just update my card information), and the staff member at the front was more interested in joking around and flirting with her coworker than doing her job. She walked away multiple times mid-conversation, barely acknowledged my questions, and made the whole interaction feel like I was interrupting her fun.

On top of that, I’ve asked multiple times for help getting my app fixed so I can manage things on my own — and every time I’ve been dismissed with a lazy excuse and zero actual help. It’s clear no one wants to take ownership or assist members beyond the bare minimum.

It’s frustrating when a brand claims to be about support and motivation but doesn’t back it up with real customer service. Disappointing all around.

I went to check out the gym with the free 3 day pass thing they have right now. Luckily I was able to do so. The gym is tiny. When I checked in I wanted to speak with some and do a tour the guy at the front desk said there was no one here for that, that I could go check out the gym and walk around myself then come ask him questions.. really! So I went to check it out. There was no cleaning wipe in any of the stations I even went in the woman area still no wipes. There was toilet paper on the floor in the woman’s bathroom, hair in the showers and you could tell the recovery area wasn’t clean. I went back to the front desk to ask a few questions and the guy told me nothing. He showed me a piece of paper and said this is what you get! I wouldn’t recommend this location. I’m not sure about the other gyms but the experience here made up my mind. I won’t be signing up. I only gave it one star because I had to!

I joined during the special, I was actually looking for a new gym. This gym has the best equipment I have ever used probably. It’s very clean, the staff is very friendly. I usually go after work so it’s not too crowded. There is a lot of videography, but it doesn’t seem to be in the way. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone in the area looking for something new or to help motivate a new workout routine

Edit: how has it gone downhill so quick? So much staff yet so messy. Have gone to the restroom twice to find no toilet paper in my stall. Now I see why yall charged the fee upfront. Yall gotta secure that bag before clients drop like flies.

Well I see your game, I’ll be keeping my membership until April next year then cancelling. Gotta workout regardless.

Key fob worked twice during unstaffed hours at night—then just stopped. No explanation, no fix. And since I can’t work out during the day, that makes the entire membership worthless to me.

Tried to cancel. Nobody gave a straight answer. No one was helpful unless you were management, and even then, the energy was halfway at best.

Front desk was being manned by some semi-arrogant, extremely unhelpful dark-skinned Black kid who looked like a young Cedric the Entertainer. Dude had the attention span of a TikTok comment section—seemed more focused on 304s and whatever cycle he’s running than actually helping paying members. Couldn’t answer basic questions. Not sure if he was slow or just didn’t care. Either way, useless.

This gym is clearly new and still trying to figure things out. The way they’re onboarding people is clumsy—mass signing folks up through a basic Trainerize app, only to segment them later into a second app makes zero sense. Just pay the extra few dollars for a white-labeled platform and streamline it. The whole system feels cheap and thrown together.

If you’re thinking about joining—don’t. Not unless you plan to babysit your membership and hope the staff evolves.

On June 25th, I visited AMP Fitness at 7:38 PM for an question about my scheduled session with my personal trainer. Upon checking the app this morning, I noticed that I had been assigned a new trainer — something I was not informed about via email, text, or in-app messaging. I called my previous trainer directly, who kindly explained that they had been promoted to another location. I was genuinely happy for them but unable to transfer due to distance. Again, my issue wasn’t the trainer change — it was the complete lack of communication from the gym.

Unfortunately, what should have been a simple clarification escalated due to the unprofessional conduct of a Personal Training Manager named Mike. After speaking with the front desk, Mike approached me and immediately became defensive. He questioned, “What is wrong with the other trainers?”, “you’re not happy about your trainer promo?” and insisted that no other members had an issue with being reassigned. Instead of listening to my concern — which was about communication — he began citing contract policies that contradicted what was in writing, claiming a two-month cancellation period when my contract clearly stated 30 days. When I tried to redirect the conversation to my actual concern, Mike continued to invalidate it and push solutions I didn’t ask for.

Feeling dismissed and misunderstood, I asked to speak with the General Manager, John. Mike stated John would agreed the same thing about cancelling contract on the 2-month period. Before I could speak for myself, I overheard Mike tell John, “That lady is all mad and upset, and she is having issues with a personal trainer,” which misrepresented my concern entirely. I had to clarify directly with John, who thankfully handled the situation with much more professionalism and empathy. He understood my frustration stemmed from the lack of communication, not the trainer switch or contract terms. He offered to let me choose a new trainer, but by then, Mike’s behavior had made me too uncomfortable to continue my membership.

AMP claims to stand by “no toxic gym culture, no BS,” but that was exactly what I experienced from Mike. Even during my conversation with John, Mike continued to insert himself and make comments until he finally walked away.

John offered a buyout of the contract at half price, which I agreed to although management failed to follow policy correctly that it’s a $500 charge to cancel contract. However, Mike then tried to charge me an additional $108 for an upcoming bi-weekly payment — a charge that was not valid based on the contract date. Only after my sister pointed this out did Mike admit to the mistake. I finalized my cancellation at 9:40 PM with a payment of $541.

It’s unfortunate — I appreciated the environment, the other staff members were respectful, and I truly wanted to stay. But Mike’s conduct was retaliatory, dismissive, and predatory in how he weaponized policy to avoid accountability. I hope AMP provides him with training on how to engage with members and handle concerns constructively. No one should feel uncomfortable or gaslit when asking reasonable questions about their membership.

EDIT: even when your contract is terminated, apparently you will still be charged monthly on their reoccurring plan because the gym failed consistently to remove your card off the system. Please advise when purchasing anything here.

I agree with the rest of the reviews about customer service being absolutely atrocious.I went in to cancel my membership after not being able to workout because of the constant overcrowding. I have a medical condition that affects my eye and I know when people are judging me for that condition. I’ve lived with the condition for 26 years. The woman that was helping me cancel my membership definitely was judging me for my eye. I was shocked. We’re all adults and if her to even look at me the way she did made me happy that I canceled my membership. I can’t believe that we’re still judging people based on the way they look. I can’t support a business that hires people that judge others. I thought this was a gym and people come here to gain self confidence so why is your employee judging me for something that’s out of my control? I never had this problem at Fitness Connection. I never got treated or looked at as if I was different from everyone else because of my eye. Save yourself your money and your self confidence, go somewhere else.

As a revamped founder member who had high hopes for this gym, I’m beyond disappointed with the experience at Amped Fitness Gessner. Honestly, it’s not even close to what I expected.

First off, it’s WAY too overcrowded. It feels more like a chaotic fish market than a gym. The music is blaring at ridiculous levels, and the constant clanking of weights makes it impossible to focus. This is not a place to get a solid workout in peace. The atmosphere is frustrating too — the lack of basic gym etiquette from some members makes it feel like a free-for-all. It’s just not the kind of environment you want to work out in.

The sauna situation? A joke. You have to preheat it yourself, but there’s no system to hold your spot. Someone else can just swoop in and take the sauna you’ve been waiting for by the time you're done with your workout. It’s honestly just poor management. As a founder member, I should have better access to the revamped areas, but that’s been a hassle as well.

And the cherry on top? The water tastes awful — like they never change the filters. That’s a basic thing that shouldn’t be overlooked.

All in all, this place isn’t living up to the hype or the promises. I regret signing up here and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. DO BETTER, Amped.

Everything is wonderful, the machines, amenities, the front team is awesome but dry sauna is a downside for me ,dry sauna typically ranges in temperature from 150 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit, i dont even drop a little sweat after 20 minutes, I have to go to red saunna so i can sweat but sometimes both of them arw bussy,could you guys check this pleaseeeee, overall gym is AMAZING

Very full at peak hours, unable to get a workout. The premium membership with unlimited guest passes is super duper cheap, so everyone and their mom is there even if they don’t have a membership.

It’s exactly the same as Fitness Connection, it will always be crowded, dirty, and cheap. Things will start breaking only weeks in due to over and improper use since it seems most of the folks that go there are new to the lifestyle, and staff just allow people to abuse the cords, machines, and weights. This place will be run down in no time. I hate cheap-o big box gyms!

You can sign up online, easy. But you can’t cancel membership unless you go to any location. You call, they can cancel it, they can’t remove your payment method because all they want is money being taken out of you wallet. I stopped by this location today to check out the gym and was set up with a female staff member for a tour. Honestly, the gym itself looks fine — but the experience with the staff was disappointing.

When I asked about a large walkway area labeled “Revamped,” she just glanced at me and bluntly said, “hydro bed.” I politely asked if she could explain what a hydro bed is or maybe show me, and she responded, “You don’t have a VIP membership to go in there.”

I even mentioned that I might be interested in upgrading if I liked what I saw, but she gave me that look again — dismissive and uninterested — so I just left.

If this is the kind of attitude you face right at the start, especially from someone meant to introduce and sell the gym, what can a customer expect after signing up?

I sincerely hope management reads this because sometimes it’s the small details and daily interactions that can impact a multi-million-dollar business.

The gym was amazing, I love the different rooms we could workout in, especially the babe cave. However I do have one issue, there are no workers late at night (10-1am) I was having trouble trying to get in. I had to get help from another person who was enjoying there workout.
