I’ve been a member for 13 years or so and I’ve never been approached by anyone about slamming weights. Never had a conversation with the gym owner at Athens, but he had his manager Call me to tell me I was locked out as he apparently witnessed me slamming weights I do not believe that it is fair to be locked out with no warning whatsoever. His manager advised that he said he talked to me before about this, multiple times which is a bold face lie. We NEVER talked and I asked for proof whether it be video or written and nothing was provided. I asked for the owner to call me multiple times to discuss and this was over three weeks ago, and he has never called. I believe he is a racist because I had my wife in there that day with me who is a person of color I believe that he is very unprofessional and apparently not decent enough to even talk to me. I’m considering legal action as it is illegal to discriminate based on race For a club that is not considered private. I am guessing he’s close to retirement and doesn’t care anyway but thought I would share.

Absolutley awful. They play christian music but are hypocrites. Always locking me out of just their gym, as if that matters to me.
I can go to all others, becuase I pay a premium for all access through insurance. I called them, they mentioned to the effect, they knew I ride a bicycle because they see the after hour cams, but need more money becuase ..something about them being a special gym, and that they did not want to use my insurance. I felt this was more than that, since they know, "I ride a bicycle" This is even though I pay premium for all gyms--even still they wanted more money. I have a car(s) and have been blessed with a good job who gives me discounts through insurance from the state of Texas.
Now, Im locked out again. Since I pay through insurance, I feel this is insurance fraud and small claims litigation in the making. This gym is not special and I go to any anyntime I like, who are actually much better. The one in Chandler TX, same distance, is so much better in all ways. Lock me out.. I do not care, but I may get a lawer, and evern very likely, I do not know if I would even spend time on this lowness. Even still I hope others read this. My God Bless.

Been going to this Gym briefly, working with the staff and going in everyday, I've lost over 50 pounds this year and I know I can reach all target goals by end of the year, it's clean, organized, well maintained, and friendly plus unlike other local gyms in the area this place has a shower set up and tanning bed options if that meets your fancy, overall their price well is very fair for everything provided from these caring folks. 5/5.

The owners of this gym are the worst of the worst. Do not care about their employees or customers. The only thing that motivates them is money and control. There is a new gym opening in Athens, Tx with the best trainer in Athens. His name is Patrick Brown. Search for him, message me or I recommend the Anytime Fitness in Flint, Tx. Do not give a dime to these self fulfilling dispicable humans.

If you're looking to get fit anytime, don't come here, I tried using my key card to get in around 11:30 at Night, wouldn't let me in because the hours say, 9am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday by appointment.

If you work an 8-5pm job like I do, find a different fitness place or see if you can get your money back

I am a former Athens resident who had reason to return to Athens for a week or so. I needed a gym for the week, and chose this one based on the good reviews. Having worked out there now, I can definitely say that all the good reviews were accurate, this place is great. Good equipment selection, the whole place is very, very, clean and organized, great environment. I’m not 100% sure if it was the owner or manager who did my paperwork for my week pass, but whichever it was, he was in the middle of something when I walked in, and he dropped what he was doing to give me a personal tour of the place and let me know to come get him if I had any issues at all. Great place for sure, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym.

I LOVE this gym. Me and my husband have been members for almost 9 years here and it is our second home. The gym is always clean. The staff is awesome and very attentive. The equipment is top notch with plenty of options on working out. There is no other gym I would rather be a part of. Thank you AF in Athens!! You guys are amazing!!

Gym was clean, decent equipment and in good shape and good variety. Treadmills and elliptical machines. Dumbbells up to 100lbs, plates were Nautilus. Circuit training equipment by Nautilus. A couple of adjustable benches

Had cleaning wipes readily available. Also had a vending machine with RTD protein. Great idea!
