Nice location. BUT, the plug-in air fresheners are brutal here. One or two is bad enough, but I counted 8 plug-in air fresheners. These are toxic to the body and very irritating . I’d rather stuff my nose up a guy’s armpit than smell these. Knocked off a star because of this.

I recently joined this gym two weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The facility is always spotless, and it’s clear that the management takes great pride in maintaining a welcoming and organized space. The members are incredibly respectful, creating a positive, safe and motivating atmosphere.

The gym is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need, catering to all types of workouts. Kyla got me started, and she was such a pleasure to work with—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. It’s also refreshing to be part of a smaller, tight-knit community where you feel seen and supported. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, well-managed, and friendly place to work out!

I joined AF and then didn't go. After several months, Mason, the owner, reached out to me through email and encouraged me to come in. When I did start attending, it was like I had my own cheering squad. The staff are so helpful, supportive, and caring. The facilities are clean and well kept. Absolutely fantastic gym. Cant believe how much better this place has grown over the last half year or so. The staff and trainers there are always so lively and willing to talk and help out at anytime. The evolt machine for body scanning has been great to use. The owner has done a great job with adding new equipment. Doesn’t even bother me when the gym is busy in evenings anymore. It’s just a fun place to be. Love it here.

Avoid this gym at all cost they are thieves ! I moved to a different state where there isn’t an anytime locally, I went in person to cancel before moving end of 2022 and I provided them everything that they needed from me to cancel. Months later I got phone calls and emails from a collection Agency saying that I owed almost 600 dollars which then got reported to my credit report. I called them countless times and they only answered a few times but did nothing to help. Extremely disappointed with them! Go to HT fitness everyone ! HT customer service and gym are on point

Great changes happening here. New management and owner have made several good changes in the last few months. New equipment pieces are being added, manager or owner are always around during the day, and its much cleaner than it has been in the past (you can even smell the clean!). Even today while working out they were actively dusting, and scrubbing treadmills to keep them fresh, not just a light cleaning either but scrubbing and wiping down every part. Nice to see such good care being taken, I'm sure in the future more updates are to come as well.

I have been coming to this gym since 2015 and I am very disappointed at the way it has been maintained during the past year or so. I have made management aware several times of how dirty and unkempt it has been. There is an expectation that we who use the gym would clean equipment after each use, but when I look around there are cobwebs in windows and on equipment, dust bunnies everywhere and for the last two weeks there has been a dead cockroach in the workout room. Many days there are no wipes to clean the equipment with and the bathroom and showers are atrocious. There seems to be no emphasis on putting equipment away after using, so many times I have had to clear a space in the workout room for me to workout.

I know it has been difficult to find staff, especially staff that cares about their job, but this situation is very frustrating at best and should be unacceptable by management. The least the patrons of Anytime should expect is a clean workout environment and equipment that is working properly.

We members at Any Time Fitness Elgin, Texas are overall delighted. For us Brian is a fairly new manager since we've been through a few. We're so glad to have a manager we can count on. He's here on a dependable schedule, takes calls, returns the ones he misses and also replies promptly and dependably to emails. On location, he is eager to help any and all and makes everyone welcome. We think of him as more than staff: he is a neighbor, a mentor and a friend.

Another great thing about Anytime Fitness Elgin, is Roseanne. She does a great job straightening, cleaning up and maintaining supplies. We have absolutely no complaints about either the manager or housekeeping. Most of us have been to more than one gym in our lives, and we know how good we can have it here.

They support their members' health goals and therefore didn't have buckets of candy everywhere or long tables full of cheap pizzas & doughnuts like other so called FITNESS centers on the PLANET. In fact, there was a fair amount of signage encouraging you to eat healthier and breaking down the nutritional content of various common foods to help members make better informed choices. Health & Fitness is 75% diet and 25% exercise. It's nice to see a gym that actually realizes that.

I would like to give zero star if I could. They had to charge me one extra month even though my contact ended lol. I was locked into 2 year contract and even incorrectly charged during those years. I was never notified about whatever their new policy(I’m not even sure if it’s true) that was reason why I had to be charged again even though my contact ended yesterday. I signed up 2 years ago, only contact from 2 years ago should apply to me. It’s illegal to force individuals into new policy that’s not applied in the past contact. Anyway, just work out at home or find a gym that is doing legal business. PLEASE don’t waste your money on scammers.

The gym is pretty clean and rarely busy. However, the bathrooms need some TLC. They are infested with crickets. Also, the sanitation wipe holders need some tending to. One is broken, and most of the time, at least 2 are empty. I also feel the gym could use a bench that has a decline position. Other than that, it’s a great gym.

So I would love to give this gym an actual rating but I can't even talk to someone during their "Attended Hours". I called last week and left a message to get in touch with someone, then called again this week trying to do the same. My wife and I are looking to find a local gym and this one would be great. I spoke to someone leaving the gym and they said "nobody is ever here you have to call". Well, I tried...

UPDATE: I finally got a hold of someone, they were kind and explained that they were between Gym managers. Still a tad expensive so I think I will be sticking with my other options.

I should have read the reviews before joining.
Tried to cancel membership today. Mathew Flores told me there is no way to cancel. Everyone has a cancellation policy. I asked for the owner's contact info. Mathew said he didnt have that info. I asked him if there was any way I could cancel my membership and he stated that the only ways to cancel are moving out of state or being physically disabled. No other option... really.
I dont feel comfortable going because of COVID 19. I just want to cancel my membership. There has to be a solution. Hopefully someone can help.

The no penalty option was not offered to us. The only options we were given were to suspend for 3 months or keep paying the monthly fee even though the gym was closed.
Also on 10/09/20 our monthly fee was taken out of our checking account and then today it was taken out again. I really don’t understand why this is so hard.

The staff will lock you into a year contract but tell you that it’s month to month, the bathrooms never work and are always locked, the equipment is older and you will NEVER be able to get ahold of someone in the office. I mean NEVER, you can call during their staffed hours for days and maybe after the 5th day or so you may be able to get ahold of him and then he makes it seem like he’s been in the office the whole time and has no idea what your talking about. Do not spend your money with this establishment. They are not customer friendly, they do not answer their phones, and they are all about their money. My spouse has numerous medical documents and letters stating she is classified as "High Risk" for COVID due to serious pre-existing conditions. Therefore, no one in my household can't go anywhere because we do not want to bring anything into our home. We tried on numerous occasions to make contact with the local office to discuss canceling our memberships since we obviously can not go and were basically told you need to be disabled in order to cancel your membership. People are struggling financially and this company could care less about it's customers. If you are going to spend your hard earned money for a membership. Find a establishment that really is customer oriented or will let you pay month to month. Anytime Fitness must really be struggling financially (probably due to bad management/business planning) if they will not allow someone to cancel their membership during these hard times.

Dirty gym. Never enough wipes. Trash was always overflowing. Staff is usually absent during posted business hours. Was difficult to join because no one was there to sign me up. We loved this gym until about the end of last year, 2019. Since then it has continually gone downhill. Change in staff, dirty bathrooms with broken showers, management that doesn’t really want to hear what you say.... every member I talk to has about had their fill.

Ally is great! But I am appalled at how filthy the gym is. The water fountains are so stained and dirty, no one wants to use them. The restrooms need way more attention! There is mold on the shower curtain and the garbage is left for days. Mason always did walk through a through out the day and took care of these things.

The only positive is that they have a large selection of equipment. Unfortunately new ownership is not keeping up with routine maintenance. There are toilets and showers not working. They are constantly out of supplies to clean the machines. I tried calling them to inquire why I received an extra charge in January, they didn't return my call. So I signed up with Anytime Fitness in Elgin quite a while ago, and let me say that it was by far one of the biggest mistakes of my life. When I signed up with this gym they told me that I would be signed up for a 16 month membership and that after that 16 month membership my door key would cease to work and that the payments would stop, the only way to gain re-entry to the gym was to stop by and sign another contract. They also stated that they would send texts every so often to inform you of your expiring membership.

Well when I got my new job I noticed that we had a free gym so I decided that I wanted to cancel my membership with AF but didn't want to pay the early cancellation fee. So I decided to just be patient and wait out the rest of the 16 month contract, but it never ended. I thought it was a bit odd considering the fact that it had been over 16 months yet I was still being charged.

So I decided to head down there and just cancel it. I went down there on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) but no one was ever there, so I assumed that this franchise must have weekends off. So I came in on my days off (Tuesday and Wednesday) but yet again, no one was there. I continued doing this for around 2 months every chance I got. I then resorted to calling them, but no one ever answered. I left voicemails, no responses. I even had my mother contacting them on my behalf thinking two people calling stands a better chance than one person, still no luck. But finally, someone answered for her, and all they did for her was CONFIRM with her that my membership had been COMPLETED, but I had to come in to sign paperwork to make it official. Guess what, I came in on my days off to sign, and no one was there. I caved and went to the Bastrop, TX Franchise and a TON of staff were present. I begged them to help me cancel my subscription but they couldn't do anything for me, they told me I had to cancel at my home franchise. So then I went to the bank, and as a last resort, placed a stop charge on them where they couldn't STEAL any more money from me.

Here's the best part, now they have turned me over to collections and they claim I owe them over $200 in services, stop charges, and various other costs.

I would recommend that you avoid this franchise like the PLAGUE unless you enjoy getting scammed and stolen from. Absolutely horrendous staff, the gym is OKAY at best, but good luck actually getting out of your "contract" when the staff is literally absent 24/7. I think it is truly sad when the only way to get into contact with a place like this is when you ask the collections agency to TELL them to contact you, and in the same day, they do. If they had contacted me this expediently to begin with, this could have all been avoided.

Long story short, do NOT sign with this location, go somewhere where the staff actually shows up.

The negative Yelp review I left got ignored, so I thought about tracking down the contact info for this gym but it seems that some of you have tried, and failed to get in contact, so I guess I have to leave this review.

1. This gym is really dirty and it smells. Most of the time, the very worn out equipment can't be cleaned because the dispensers are out of wipes. The water fountain is covered in scale and looks disgusting so I won't get water out of it- which is pretty inconvenient for a gym, don't you think?
2. Can you at least replace the very torn up mats in the studio if you won't clean the floor? Please? I've been bringing my own, but some folks don't have one and they deserve to have nice equipment to work out with since ya know, we are all paying for this?
3. The equipment is all really old and worn out. There is almost always something broken. They started to paint and do a few spruce ups a while back but I guess gave up in the middle.
4. I would have reported this to a person in person but this gym is never, and I mean never ever staffed. I think there is a lady who might teach a class but the only time I've seen her is when she is teaching that class. Otherwise the office is always dark and locked, and I almost always go during the hours that they are supposed to be staffed.
5. And finally, before you start with the excuses of trying to keep fees low, etc. this is the WORST AT Fitness I've ever been to and it's not even a close 2nd. I travel, so one of the reasons I joined was so that I could have a gym and no excuses. I visited a location in a town that is even smaller than Elgin and it was twice the size and WAY nicer. And guess what? Membership fee is the same. So they are doing it, with less members I'm guessing...so what's your excuse?
This review may seem harsh but it's the truth and maybe it will finally bring about some changes and make me feel I'm getting my $ worth. I am certain if I tried to cancel over these complaints you'd just send a collection agency after me so I'd rather not go down that road. I really do just ask for a clean, decent place to work out that is nearby. I am paying for it so is that possible to provide?

I have been a member with anytime for a while now and it has been good but recently after moving and trying to cancel it has become an absolute nightmare. They have had some turnover in staff and didn’t check their mail because of it for almost a month, which then became my problem. They are not easy to work with and they have ZERO customer service. The previous manager was much more accommodating than this nightmare of a person they have now. I suggest making the drive into Austin for your workouts so you don’t have to deal with this ever.

I think it's a mediocre gym with very basic equipment for the price. I think updated equipment would be nice, since the gym has been open for quite some time. Half the time the tvs on the equipment don't work & very limited channels. A couple of times there's been water all over the bathroom floor. I guess from people showering. I was a member about 5 yrs ago n gave comments about the bathrooms not having some type of bench to place your gym bag or shower necessities. I joined again last yr & still no bench.

Music is so loud it’s hard to concentrate. Staff spend time working out at peak times in morning when paying members are trying to work out. There is only one life fitness cycle, no one uses the other aero bike which they put in the middle of the gym. Has deinitely changed in the years I’ve been a member. Made numerous attempts to express concerns only to be blown off with a condescending email. Customer service????

I trusted the manager mason at the time when he said you could cancel it then also said it could be canceled when your term ia up but after reading very carefully they do not even allow to cancel after it goes month to month! but you basically can't cancel the membership unless u move more than 25 miles from an anytime fitness! I have called their corporate office and waiting on a call back. I should be able to pay a cancellation fee and cancel this. Their gyms suck. You pay $35 a month for basic workout equipment. They don't even have locker rooms just bathrooms with showers its a little better then a gym you'd have in an apartment complex. I chose them because they're literally the only gym I'm elgin and boyyy do I regret it!!! Do not sign a contract with this sorry franchise. Again still waiting on a call from corporate!
