Management has been inconsistent since I began going here for over a year (3 different managers over that time). Getting in touch with anybody is nearly impossible. The phone number listed on the door didn’t work when I tried to call. Updating payment information is hard to do, but you end up getting charged late fees due to not having an updated card on file. Even worse, they’ll send your account to collections and once it’s in collections they won’t be able to easily reactivate your account (please keep that in mind). But there’s no way to do easily update payment methods besides going into the gym. If you have problems with anything, good luck trying to fix it; hopefully your luck is better than mine.
To any Anytime fitness managers that see this; please don’t reply with anything regarding me reaching out to resolve any issues. I paid out my contract and never got access to the gym through my contract period. Paid over $500 just to not get access to the gym. A guest pass could have been issued for a few months of access and that would have resolved the issue with integrity. I honestly feel scammed and I hope nobody else goes through what I did.

I had to move to another state relatively quickly in July and have tried cancelling my membership countless times since then, since I now use a different gym. I have called the facility and left voicemails, and spoken to the manager specifically and been told they would give me a call back. I have received ZERO calls back, no emails and no returned communication. I have continued to be billed every month for a membership I’ve attempted to cancel multiple times. I have been an Anytime client since 2020 at multiple locations and this gym in particular has incredibly poor communication with their clients. I do not recommend working with anytime forney unless you want to be forced into keeping your membership because they won’t answer the phone, return calls or show up to their own office hours.

They turned a simple gym membership into a bound contract that you're forced to pay. Somebody needs to boycott this place what they're doing isn't right, taking peoples money because its the only way to stay in business, sad. Set an appointment for 7:00pm showed up about 10 mins early, people were working out and there were no employees to help us, the people working out were very help, the person that set up the appointment wasn’t there. This is literally the worst place you can sign up for…. I have been trying to cancel my membership for over 3 months without any success. The call ends up in the voicemail everytime, and there is bo way to leave a message. I tried calling and emailing the corporate to get through. The reply was that i have to call the gym location directly. When i tried to explain that i had been trying to do that for the past 90 days, i still was not offered a callback or any further assistance. If you get in, it is impossible to get out. I would recommend you to get another gym membership, so you would not have to deal with that in the future!

I have been a loyal member of Anytime fitness Forney since moving to Forney in 2021. I’m in the process of moving and have been trying to cancel my membership since May of this year. It’s been nothing but a headache. I’ve heard and read about the obstacles people go through in trying to cancel their membership, and I thought that it’s people just complaining. NOPE!! Anytime fitness is scamming people, by making it impossible to cancel your gym membership while they keep charging you. They do not answer the phones and I’ve gone into the gym and spoken with Louis and have emails about canceling my membership, yet, I’m still being charged for membership that I no longer want. I’ve been trying to get a hold of the corporate office, and I keep getting directed back to the club for cancellations. If you’re looking to sign up for a gym membership in Forney, stay clear of Anytime Fitness Forney. You will be scammed several months of membership /service/ and “late” fees. I’ve been forced to pay these past few months since I don’t want any issues with my credit. I’m running out of options here and soon will have to consult with an attorney.

I canceled my membership in person when the planet fitness opened up around the corner. Finally went to location to cancel since nobody could answer phone after 3 weeks of calling. I paid the cancellation and the current month etc. around $150 total.

This was 3 months ago. Today I get a call from a debt collector saying I owe $150 and my account is in collections.

I don't know what else to do to get your attention. I've been trying to cancel my membership since April 28th. 59 days. No one answered the phone for weeks. Not one single email has been responded to. I tried coming in, no one was there, during hours. I finally got someone who answered the phone and said they'd have to charge me for 30 more days, which is crap since I had already been trying to cancel for more than 30 days. Then he said he'd send the paperwork and talk to his boss about it. But the paperwork requires me to sign saying that I gave them notice on the day I sign it. Not true so I can't sign until it's fixed. I've emailed and called about it since then and no one answers. The voicemail is full so I can't leave a message. I've already paid for a full month I didn't want and I'll be charged again tomorrow.

I've been in Anytime Fitness in probably a dozen states. I've watched countless managers sit on their hands and twiddle their thumbs, including in Forney. There's no excuse for 59 days of no communication.

Please call me back, cancel my membership, and refund my money. Thank you.

On my FitQuest70 journey to lose 70 pounds from Sacramento to Texas, I visited gym #69, a recently remodeled Anytime Fitness that earns a solid 4.5 out of 5. The gym offers a spacious, open layout with concrete floors and music at the perfect volume, creating a calm atmosphere. While some equipment in the main room, like an older leg press with chipped black plates, shows its age, a new add-on section stands out with brand-new machines and free weights. The restrooms reflect a partial makeover but could use a bit more polish. I’ve been a long time loyal member with the gym since 2012 and it was great at first but the last few years, I feel like it has gone down hill. They did start a recent remodel however, I feel like all they did was paint, add carpet and move equipment around… nothing worth the excitement they are putting on. Most of the cardio equipment still doesn’t work and hasn’t worked for quite some time. 1 of the stairmasters has been out of order for months now and usually never works anyway. The other 2 are always breaking down along with the treadmills.

The water fountains are now not working although they do have a sign saying please be patient as they continue to remodel and work on the water fountains. In my opinion, if management knows their water fountains aren’t working in a gym mind you, then the least they can do is provide cheap bottled water for members as they work out. The restrooms have never been nice and are almost always very nasty, dirty and smelly. The toilets are always clogged, restrooms just need to be demolished and rebuilt to be honest.

To be fair, they have replaced some old equipment with new equipment but I’d rather much use older equipment that works than to have nasty restrooms and non functional water fountains in a gym where hydration is critical.

All of this and on top of that, they are increasing their fees once again, come April. I’ve been loyal to this place and have made some good friends but when the Planet Fitness opens in Forney, I will cancel this membership and switch. What a shame, this used to be a great gym.

I had a regular membership before activating my "active&fit" membership almost 3 months ago. Ever since, I've been double-charged, even after being assured during the membership transition that "it would stop charging my account for the old membership automatically," which was a LIE! After being charged twice in the 2nd month, I was told the lady in charge had been notified. Then, after my third double charge, I went up there and was told the lady just got back from vacation. Not sure why it's so difficult to stop payment that may cause problems for me if I don't have that in my bank!? I can wait for my full refund, but why can't unnecessary charges be stopped?! RIDICULOUS! Waiting until another charge hits my account before I go and report again. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME FOR ALL THESE.

update: 1/2/24 : Still no resolution and I woke up to a new monthly charge. PLEASE STOP THIS

Extremely rude trainers. Simple gym etiquette and courtesy is not what the trainers have. They will interrupt you when jump roping or heavy squats and tell you. You need to get out of their way. It’s never been an issue before with other trainers but the new lady trainer is like a bully. Absolutely unprofessional and rude. I’m not the only person who has had this issue. I’ve been in gyms, my entire life and have never faced this type of treatment. I’ve also been a member at this particular anytime for 10 years. This is the first time I’ve ever dealt with this. Common courtesy and working around each other is not what you get by the new female trainer. This has created a hostile and unwelcoming environment absolutely rude. I struggle with this review, because I travel all over the country. I have used lots of AF. This is is a lot bigger than most and has more equipment. For weight lifters it has pretty much everything you need. Those are the positives.

Now for the negatives…..

The bathrooms are always dirty and 2 of 3 never have hand soap. They have several sanitizing wipe dispensers but most times only one has wipes in it. The trash is most time overflowing and roaches, beetles and spiders are always crawling on the floor. The floor has these huge rips in it and is just left there for someone to trip and fall and injure themselves on your property. When something breaks they do not fix it. Several pieces of equipment broken (still usable) and it is not replaced or repaired.

At the end of the day its a gym and many not be the cleanest, however if something breaks its needs to be repaired. That’s what we are paying for. You should have a contract with a preventative maintenance company and/or a repair shop.

Again, its the biggest AF I have ever seen and will continue to come to workout, however it just needs to be managed, as it currently is not.

Any gym that makes you pay a 2 year contract with no way out and makes you pay the contract in full should you have to break it is greedy and poor business. DO NOT GO HERE! This anytime is one of the filthiest I've ever gone to. The bathrooms stink, there's hair everywhere and I am 90% sure no cleaning crew goes on the weekend or holidays. Almost all the cardio machines are broken are damaged in some way or other. Over half do not incline. They are not well maintained. But the staff was polite and nice.

Signed a two year contract for two and after about half a year wanted out. During signing they said we could cancel anytime and just pay a small fee. That's a lie, the fee is the full contract amount >$1600 for remaining months. Also there are hidden fees for equipment upkeep which is not being done. Gym is a good size and has a decent amount of free weight/machine but could use some more plates. When gym is full you have to run around trying to find plates. If the cardio machines were better maintained, and place was cleaner I would have given it 4 stars.. no five stars because contract has no reasonable cancelation policy.

Can someone please enlighten me if you will. Myself & others pay our hard earned money to be a member of this gym & you would think some of that money would go towards paying someone to keep this place clean. Why am I seeing NASTY Hair balls & all kinds of dirt , dust & hairs all up & in between every little nook & cranny of these workout machines. I should not have to come here & worry about the level of cleanliness here or lack thereof. Not to mention we are literally in the middle of a pandemic & keeping this gym clean should be of top priority or you would think . Toilet paper in restrooms all on the floor that you will have to step on just to use the toilet that has God knows what on it . The trash cans are always full & spilling on to the floor. This place is filthy. They need to really higher some one who is going to clean this place. I was told when I first joined this gym that this gym is “sanitized” & “cleaned” on a daily basis & I’m absolutely baffled at the thought of that remark because I find that to be a load of cr@p! I find that hard to believe. seems like anyone could go into the gym towards the evening/afternoon when it is left unstaffed. careless members & non-members hopping around from machine to machine leaving the whole gym a mess by not wiping down equipment; leaving mats, dumbbells, barbells lying around instead of re-racking what they've used. Restrooms always have a terrible odor. What's the point of having to pay to have "access" to the front door if all you have to do is pull the door to open, you dont even need to scan your key fob. My sister & I have wanted to cancel our membership two months into our membership but not worth having to pay out what's left of our contract so all we really can do is stick it out. Oh, & in the mornings if you're in the back when the trainer goes in to work out with her group, expect all of the equipment that was laid out for your use to just be removed so she could use the space without asking if it's ok.

I am a truck driver so I go all over the country but when I’m home in forney I come to Anytime in the middle of the night. The blonde woman cleaning and re racking weights in the middle of the night was the same person in the office in the morning. It might be the manager. She helps me my account & stuff. I’ve been a member of this gym for several years. It’s been awesome coming-in on my lunch break. I love the functional training area.

In response to other reviews, I’ve never experienced issues with uncleanliness or the HVAC system not working with the exception of the week following the recent winter storms when the water main burst.

I enjoy talking to the gym staff and fellow gym members. I feel at home here.

Every time I walk into the gym after 10 AM when the manager is there, I am always greeted with such positive energy, which definetely helps encourage me and my workout. The gym staff is always on top of their jobs, the cleaning staff is always cleaning, even when many people are moving around, they are always so respectful. The bathrooms are actually pleasantly clean and when I realized there were showers, I would assume the floors would be wet after being used, and they never are. The equipment is all in good condition so I never question whether or not I am not going to fulfill my workout. I love the space in the back as well, so many different workout options and I enjoy the rings I have recently found out. Overall I love this gym and I am so glad that I made this my new gym home.

I went into this facility expecting to receive information about the facility, but instead I greeted an uncaring, unprofessional individual. I spoke with the facility manager Lana and she may have been having a bad day or something. I give allowance for that but she was disconnected, rude, unprofessional and lack care and concern for my needs.
1. Couldn’t give me correct pricing.
2. Told me I had to be a member to do training, excuse me if I am coming in then I am aware I must join to access the facility.
I Told her I wanted some strength training, because I have medical conditions and I wanted to ensure proper technique as not to hurt myself.
-she told me she didn’t have time to spend with me everyday as she was the only one there. And I never asked for her to babysit me just instruct me with using equipment and weight training.
Her response was I learn from others in here and you can go to Pinterest to learn what to do and the machines have instructions on them...Problem with that- I am new to gyms and trying something new...gyms can be intimidating to someone not familiar.
She couldn’t provide me with proper pricing when was posted on her desk..

Decent, no frills gym. Most of the equipment is older and well worn compared to the other anytime fitness clubs I’ve been to, although nothing seemed broken or missing. Cubby holes for your bags but no benches, no tables. I went during a peak time but most the equipment did not look or feel clean. Main area gets hot and musty but smaller section has better air. An equipment/free weight refresh and layout update would help this gym immensely and bring it to five stars.

One of the nicer Anytime Fitness's I have been to. I am a member of Anytime because I travel for work and have seen some interesting clubs. I am happy this is my 'home' club. For the most part they have pretty much all the equipment you would desire.

Pros:
1) Clean, easy to navigate gym.
2) Bonus 'CrossFit' type area. Includes 2 additional squat racks, tires, etc.
3) Friendly staff.

Cons:
1) If equipment goes out of order, good luck getting it fixed. Usually takes 4-6 weeks.
2) Staff doesn't take equipment recommendations seriously. I recommended an Ab Roller via email and followed up 2 weeks later in person. Still no new Ab Roller (was told my staff they would purchase one ASAP).
3) Bathrooms frequently out of paper towels. I wash my hands after every workout and this is frustrating since it's a common occurrence.

Overall, if you don't need a kids club this is the best gym in Forney.

Would give more stars if the equipment was repaired faster. At one point they had 2 stairmasters, and one was broken for over a month. Leg extension machine is currently broken, and has been broken for about a month as well. Tanning bed..... always nasty. Not the Gym's fault though. Should have a stand up bed instead so I don't have to clean up other people's dried up sweat just to tan. I have a separate tanning membership now, and canceled the one attached to my Anytime. Good gym, very convenient when everything is working, and maintained properly.

Issue 1: I used to love this gym and at times I still do, guess I just have mixed feelings about this location. The cardio equipment is constantly breaking down and eventually will be out of order. The stair masters are a perfect example. They only have 2 and the older one is always broken. They should just get a new one or at least, another used one. Treadmills are also an issue, as they also will be out of order, very frustrating when I need to complete my cardio sessions but the machines are taken up and the other ones don't work. Same goes for some of the leg machines, every now and then they are broken. I get it, things break down but to not post a sign in the gym letting members know that you are least working on a repair, is unacceptable.

Issue 2: My membership price. I've been a member since 2012 and continue to pay $39/mo. I will usually see new member specials and offers online or Facebook so I would email them but they never have anything for existing members. I am actually looking for another gym because after 7 years of paying $39/mo, it's just too much. There are some other gyms for half or less of that monthly price and NO I am not under contract with Anytime Fitness.

Issue 3: Restrooms/Showers. They really need to focus on better cleaning of their restrooms or use a better air freshener. People go in there, do their business and you can smell it all over the gym, very gross. They have 2 full restrooms with showers and 1 half with no shower. I think there should be a time limit on their showers, my god people, this isn't your house. There are other folks that need to get ready for work/school or whatever but can't because they take way too long.

Please bring back the suggestion box, I think this helped notify you guys of what's going on in the gym.

My wife and I were members here a few years ago, but I started working so we let our membership drop. We rejoined December 2018 because I am now fully retired . I suppose if I tried really hard I could find something to complain about, but I have better things to do. Adrian is very helpful and friendly, and so are others I've met so far. If you're looking for a great place to work out, this is it. Since joining, working out combined with a change in eating habits, I lost 12 pound and 2" in my waist. Not to be rude, but if you're looking for perfection, consider starting your own business.

Please stay away from this gym. If you ever have a personal injury & contact them by phone or email they still send you to collections claiming they never received anything. On top of my issues I ended up paying a Kingston Data Credit collection company who then overcharged my account & also came up with bogus bs to collect.

So far, staff is friendly and helpful. Not all features work on the treadmills, but you can walk. TVs attached to treadmills do not always work. Temperature seems too hot for a gym. No fans. BYOF.

It's inexpensive but the cardio equipment is falling apart and extremely old. Elliptical machines are missing buttons, so if you Google where the "ok" button is, then you can find it in the actual machine. Different parts of the machines are falling off, and in need of repair and updating.
The treadmills are very old models missing some basic features (pace on display). So few treadmills are there or even working that I end up having to run elsewhere, so I'm spending money on a gym that doesn't meet my needs.

Excellent equipment and always clean. My only complaint is that there are several who come in and hang out on the machines while chatting, not working out. Perhaps they could add some seating for those ladies to visit at instead of having to ask them to move or even a sign asking them to not sit at equipment they are not using. Otherwise this is a great place to burn off some steam!

This is probably one of the biggest Anytime fitness gyms you will find for miles. Have tons of equipment, even own Crossfit or functionality section that reminds me of a Crossfit gym. It's great and staff is nice.
