I have been going to this gym for a few years now. I've always been impressed with the owner's continual improvements and regularly canvassing members for their opinions on equipment that they would like to see. I, believe, he has 3 locations nearby and each has its own unique vibe. For a while I would rotate to each of his gyms depending on what muscle group for which day.

Been across the entire US and I gotta say: this is one of the cleanest and well maintained AF gyms I’ve ever seen! The equipment was in excellent condition, the bathrooms were clean and stocked with accessories, and the they even have purple grout on the floors! I moved over an hour away, as well as had surgery, and they refused to cancel my membership. There are not many Anytime Fitness locations even in my new area. I was told I need to cancel in person and make the long distance trip. Not even an option to cancel via MAIL or anything was presented to me. Precious time has been wasted, and my membership is still ongoing. It’s all part of the plan. They have limited staffed hours with staff present at their location to cancel the membership. How does this work for people that have jobs throughout the week?

Terrible. I have given this company hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the last few years and I can’t even get help with my membership being canceled.

My wife and I tried a trial here a while ago and dropped it because the receptionist was making fun of her accent to her face. That person doesn't seem there now, so thought to myself 'okay, maybe we can try again.'

Now, my friend and I coordinate to give this another go. I come in to do the 5 day pass since it's been over a year. They say no. Literally, just 'no' haha. No further elaboration at first, then says I can come back in 9 hours and 19 minutes and the other guy at the desk starts laughing. I am at this point really, really confused.

I probe for more details and find out they aren't offering it because of some Easter promotion. Tell me I can pay $16 (more than the price of a full month membership?) for the single day guest pass. Why would I do that after the initial interaction? This is your best foot forward? This is the most welcoming experience you can offer for a potential customer?

It was the attitude from the get-go, in tandem with my wife's previous experience with blatant discrimination, that solidified this gym will never get another shot from me. There is consistent lack of basic professionalism from these receptionists, how many customers have they lost you?

I’ve been to a few different AF locations in the last years due to a couple of relocations and this one in Katy is by far my favorite. It’s super clean, the equipment is maintained well and the staff is nice and friendly. Everybody is busy working out and even when more people are present it’s never overcrowded despite being on the smaller side. The trainers are wonderful, they work hard and truly care. I can’t say enough good things about this gym!

They have a soft mushy feeling when running on. I'm a marathon runner so unfortunately I avoid going to this location for this reason

I've been to about 50 anytime fitness locations as I've traveled across the country and this one is definitely top 5. Extremely clean and organized, they clearly care about the equipment and their members and guests. Not the biggest location, but has everything I've ever used and nothing is falling apart or clunky. The shower rooms (1 each for men/women) are clean and stocked with anything you could need. I'm just passing through, but 10/10 would recommend and will be back if I'm around the area

My wife and I joined 2 1/2 years ago. The convenience of being able to go to a gym regardless of holiday or time whenever we want is second to none. On top of that, this is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been a member at. Everyone racks their weights, wipes down the machines after use and if one breaks it’s fixed immediately. The members and staff there are all extremely friendly and welcoming. I honestly have no complaints and highly recommend joining the Anytime Fitness family.

This location is all about they want ALL equipment to look new..Unlike other ones are more worries about members be satisfied. Leather cracks from ALOT OF USAGE. Then good luck if staff is there or not. I am glad that my 30 day wait period was over so I can be at a different location for my home gym. Also they only have 1 shower room for males and 1 for females unlike other locations where they are firstcome, first serve. The location I go to has 3 rest rooms, 2 showers, and 1 changing room.

I had so much trouble canceling my membership at this gym it was a very frustrating the owner then told me to come in which I did, He then told me numerous times he was going to refund me but never did. I then called at 5:30pm on a Saturday and was greeted by you shouldn’t be calling on this “bs” hours. He was very disrespectful over the phone after I simply wanted my refund back he first told me he would take care of it then told me to come in yet again. Overall loved the gym up to this point all I wanted to do was cancel my membership. Very disappointed in his way of treating his customers when they decide to cancel the membership.

I searched high and low for the best gym around my apartment and I certainly found it! Anytime blew everything else out of the water. Tiran was very accommodating from the start! I joined Anytime Fitness in this April. Tiran, the owner is quite nice and helpful. The environment is kept very clean, like hotel. The facility is sufficient, but not crowded, which is important for relaxing. I always arrive after 8pm. The 24-hour key access is very convenient to me. The parking lot is also safe that I won't worried about my car. Strongly recommend to everyone around Katy!

This is a great gym. I suffered from gym intimidation with visions of musclemen and mirrors all around but instead found a warm and welcoming environment. The staff are great and there are free classes for any level of fitness. The facility is very clean and the members are great about wiping down the equipment after use. This is a chain gym that offers 7-day free passes online. This location’s local owner wants to charge me a monthly fee to try out the gym and refused to honor the 7 day pass that I had already printed and confirmed online. Waste of time to go here. If you don’t honor 7 day passes, then stop offering them on your home page.

I joined Anytime Fitness in September, I wanted to burn fat, group classes, tone and of course lose weight. I have found everything I need and more at this gym. First of all Ty, the owner, is one of a kind. He registered me and actively listened to my concerns. He is always cheering us on and helping our trainers as needed. My trainer, Austin has become like family to me. He is very intelligent and puts together workouts to target my specific areas I need improvement on. He has the most positive attitude and his energy is contagious. The gym is super clean, great music, awesome people work here and I've made many friends from my group classes. I'm almost 40 and exercising has never been a big part of my life until now. I come 4 days a week and I honestly LOVE it. If you are looking for a gym that offers state of the art equipment, a great staff and a central Katy location look no more. I would have to say this is my favorite gym. It has everything I need and they are constantly adding new things for other fitness levels. The gym recently got a new owner and he is awesome. He is always there when I go, and is ready to answer, or help with any questions. I had asked about the new "fat incinerator" classes they have and he was kind enough to take me and my friend through the complete class. Not too many gyms have such hands on owners, like this one. They are really good about answering concerns and trying to find a solution. For instance I wanted to join a fitness class but none of the ones open worked for me, I pointed this out and wham, they opened up a class that fit my schedule perfectly. I love how clean the gym is, but the best part are the cold peppermint infused towels. The perfect cleanse after a hard day at the gym. I don't plan on going to another gym anytime soon. Also the prices are so low compared to other gyms.

This gym has been under new ownership for a few years and it really shows. The owner, Charlie, takes tremendous pride in his gym and truly wants every member to succeed in their fitness goals.

Normally I'd never mention bathrooms, but Charlie keeps the showers and toilet facilities in immaculate condition.

The equipment is kept clean and the facility is big enough to get a good workout and never over crowded. Still, it is smaller compared to other gyms but the 24/7 convenience and cheap membership make it a bargain for a single person or couple that just want to get a workout.

This is a great gym for a great price. Its always clean and well maintained so you don't have to worry about messy or broken equipment. Charlie and his staff are amazing and knowledgeable to go to if you ever need advice or help with lifting. They've helped me push myself and break personal records. My experience with other members has also been great, there is no feeling of judgement and everyone I've met has been friendly. Its a very diverse gym too for anyone to make most out of; there are people of all ages and people with different goals in mind for either competition or just maintaining their health. This is the gym that every dedicated (most of the time) workout enthusiast looks for. Plenty equipment - machines and free weights. 24/7 (literally ANYTIME of the day) access and tons of complimentary amenities. This was my home gym for 6/7 years. Until recently, this was a great gym that met our needs. The main issue I experienced recently, and the main reason I joined a new gym, is I was having to compete with gym employees for the bench press (there is only one bench set up as a bench press, but there are other benches and curved barbells), the squat rack (again only one squat rack), curved barbells and free weights ( again competing with gym employees for the same barbell or same weight). I frequently had to switch up my routine, change muscle groups or wait 30+ minutes for a machine. The last straw for me was 3 weeks ago when I was almost at the bench press to begin my workout and a gym employee and his friend cut me off and jumped in front of me to get to the bench press first. They weren't done with it until 1 hour later! Not cool, not courteous, not helpful and clearly not enough equipment! This was happening between 7-9 pm, so if you can't make it to the gym until then, be prepared to share equipment, switch up your routine or wait 30+ minutes for a machine.
As for location, the gym is safe and extremely clean. The owner, Charlie is nice and will work with your needs. However, when I complained that one squat rack wasn't enough, one of his responses was your dues weren't paid in January (I had forgotten to give ABC Financial my new card info) and we were already in February! I immediately got caught up (because a double payment came out of my account once I updated my info even though Charlie assured me that he would take care of it so a double payment wouldn't come out on the same day). Clearly, just not taking care of it as promised by the owner. First, the dues should have been addressed separately and in January. Second, my complaint about the squat rack was never addressed.
This gym is great depending on your needs, fitness goals and time you can get to the gym. if you choose to join this gym, be sure to make an appointment with Austin Tracey...he is an awesome trainer.

As a side note - when I left this same review on Yelp, the last review before mine was in March 2017. AFTER I posted my review, suddenly three people have taken the time to join Yelp and leave positive reviews stating just the opposite of what I said right down to a "member" claiming there was no issue with getting on equipment between 5:45 and 6:45 pm. I expect the same will happen here. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?! :/

I've been going to Anytime Fitness for the last 2 years and my only regret is that I didn't join sooner. I've been to every gym imaginable and despite the smaller real estate of the Anytime Fitness gyms, their gyms are well equipped, new, and most importantly clean. They are the epitome of "quality over quantity". I was fortunate to meet the owner of the establishment, Charlie, who is not only very charming but also incredibly supportive. I would see him warming up with the members and offering motivation and a "spot" if needed. The staff is incredibly friendly and in great shape (don't let that intimidate you, feel free to ask for advice or help). Austin, I believe, is one of the trainers and he's extremely friendly and high energy. I always see him smiling and hear him being supportive with his clients. This is an outstanding gym - you must try it if you are looking for a great place to work out! I have been a member of many gyms in several states around the country as well as a couple her in Katy and there are several things I have found here that I have not seen before.
It has to be the cleanest and most well maintained gym. All of the equipment works unlike many gyms where you find units out of service for long periods of time or just are not working properly. The weight training area has everything you need and is complete and in great condition. The restrooms/showers are stocked with all kinds of essentials so if you forget something they have you covered. Clearly there is a lot of attention to detail here, but most importantly the staff and owner are very friendly and easily accessible. If you have a question or concern they are there for you to help and support you. The personal trainers are outstanding and can work with a wide variety of clients as well. Even the members are nice and supportive and have a genuine interest in supporting the gym as a nice place to be. I always look forward to going in to work out!

I love this Anytime Fitness location. It is a very clean and invitable facility. Everyone from Charlie to his staff and everyone who works out in the gym are very nice people who are always willing to help. I have been to many different gyms and so far none can complete with this one. It is a lovely gym with a great and friendly atmosphere.
There are as well many equipment options, so you are never standing around waiting for a machine. If you ever need a spotter, Charlie and his staff are right there.
It is just a great gym to work out at!

I need more stars! This gym is my home away from home, always clean, never too packed, and the equipment is always in working order. The members are friendly and there is a definite community feeling that I've never experienced in any other gym. The owner is very involved in the day to day operations and is available 24/7 for any issue. I've been going to gyms since I was 18 and have tried pretty much every chain out there, the Anytime here in Katy is hands down still my favorite!

First off, management here has done a tremendous job of keeping this location clean and all the equipment in working condition. It's close to home and everyone that comes here is pretty friendly. Parking is safe and for the price you pay, I think it's pretty worth it. Charlie, the owner is a great manager and a good person. Overall 5 stars!!

I joined Anytime Fitness in 2008 in Louisiana. I moved to the Katy area in January 2016 and started coming to the Katy Anytime Fitness. I LOVE this place! The equipment is in great shape. Everything you need to shower and get ready is available (towels, combs, razors, deo, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and towels). And Charlie the owner and his staff are so friendly and welcoming. I love coming here to work out. It is a clean, safe, and overall awesome gym.

I travel a lot for work and have had the pleasure of visiting several Anytime Fitness locations. I've been in both larger and smaller gyms and the amenities that Anytime Fitness in Katy provides is by far the best I've seen across four states and two Canadian provinces.

From the free weight section (including 110 lb. Dumbbells and a dedicated Dead Lift Zone) to the cardio equipment, to the amenities provided in the restrooms, right down to providing towels...my home gym in Katy has the best of everything. Hands down my favorite place to be. It's pretty much my second home when I am not on the road (or in the air).

I love this gym for a few reasons.

1.The members are awesome and I don't feel like I am in competition with anyone. I feel like I fit in and you can't get that feeling in just any gym. Everyone there is working toward a goal of their own and no one is there to simply bounce their half-naked body around...if you know what I mean.

2. I've been a member at other big name gyms and all they saw when I walked in was dollar signs. This owner genuinely cares about the experience his members have in his gym. You can tell by witnessing the interaction he has with everyone. The fact that he actually listens to what the members want to achieve with their fitness goals and then takes action to help set them up for success really sets this location apart from any other.

Today was my first time going to this location and I was very impressed. I travel frequently and have attended hundreds of gyms ranging from large 24 Hour Fitnesses/World Gym to Small local gyms. This gym would be in my top 3. Equipment is up to date and in working condition. The gym is very clean and has ample amount of cleaning supplies to wipe down machines. Charles is amazing at his job. His true intentions are to help uplift, inspire, and encourage his members. He also goes above and beyond. Traveling I have to shower at gyms and at this location they have all the essentials for you. Towels, combs, blow dryer, shampoo, soap, toothbrush. Katy is very lucky to have such an amazing gym/staff in their community. Lastly you can usually judge a gym by how busy they are...this one is always occupied by its member. GO CHECK THEM OUT.

The whole team is fantastic and the gym it self is 1st class. I wish i had more time to go which is due mainley to my schedule, but anytime i make it its clean, open machines and plenty of space if this is they type of facilty you like, i know i enjoy the privacy of it all.

BEST GYM IN TOWN!!! I began my membership at Anytime Fitness in January of 2015, but, by August I was planning to leave the gym. So glad I didn't leave! I had several issues with the gym such as a lack of cleanliness, minimal equipment for women, an uninviting environment, and the unprofessional staff along with one of its trainers. (No longer at the gym.) I spoke to the NEW owner, Charlie Carder, about my issues and leaving and he gently convinced me to give it another chance.
I am so glad that I was patient and waited. What an upgrade! NOW, the gym is CLEAN and sharp! I don't have to wait for equipment because there are so many other options. The perquisites in the bathroom make you feel like you are at home. It's the little things! The friendly, helpful, and encouraging staff and trainers seem genuinely interested in everyone's success. I even feel tremendous support to attain my personal training goals from other members. It's like a family!
For the first time, I actually look forward and MAKE time to workout.
I have had memberships at several other gyms in Katy, but all pale in comparison with the current status of Anytime Fitness Katy!
