NEW MANAGEMENT !!!!!!! Definitely a change from the last manager. I stopped by this gym after going to another gym for several months. Lights have been replaced, broken equipment has been repaired, and the gym is SUPER clean. No dust, floor is vacuumed, swept and mopped, and it smells nice. Ohhh!! And the A/C Is WORKING! The new manager Julian is very meticulous about how the gym is kept and stays late to make sure it is well maintained. I got a chance to meet him this visit and he is super friendly and welcoming. He even went out of his way to update me on upcoming repairs and replacements. I would highly recommend this gym if you are in the area!!!!

It's been more than a month with the new owner and the gym has made a complete 180. It seems like every week I come in something that was a problem before is fixed. Equipment is always neat, gym smells great, ac blows cold during this summer heat. Huge props to new management making the gym feel welcoming. Funny story: Got my membership a couple months back. Only worked out here that one day and didn’t come back. (The old reviews do great at explaining why i didn't return). Until today (07/24), came in ready to cancel my membership. When i walked in, I was amazed at the change. The air itself felt different. There is now clean equipment, bathrooms, everything is nice and organized. Turns out there’s new management, Julian, making the changes that were needed. With that being said came out not canceling my membership and will be recommending!

Over the last 2-3 years, this gym had fallen into disrepair, due to the unwillingness of the owner to spend the money to do even routine cleaning and maintenance.
Sometime last month, June of 2025, the club changed owners and the transformation has been outstanding. The club is now cleaned on a regular basis, the air conditioning works, and holes that were in the wall have been patched and painted. The current owner is also in the process of repairing the hot water heater, which has been down for over a year and a half.

All that said, the maintenance and repairs have been neglected for so long, it will take the new owner several weeks, if not months, to get all of the repairs to be accomplished.

I fully believe that they are committed to making this a great club for all of the patrons.

I have been a member for about two years now. I went into the gym today to cancel my membership. The gym was so filthy and always hot and smelly. The location was more of a convenience so it was easier for me just to go here. As I walked in today with my 8 yr old daughter, she was the first one to say that it smelled so good in there, and it did. The atmosphere feels completely different. Everything was so clean and organized. I wasn’t afraid to touch the machines and I actually let my daughter use the restroom. (If you’ve been to this Lewisville location, you know what I’m talking about.) Julian has made such a difference at this gym in the very little time he’s been there. Needless to say, I will continue to be a member here. I look forward to seeing more of the great changes Julian has in store for this gym.

Visited gym #76 in Lewisville, TX, on my fitness journey from Sacramento to Texas. Rated 3.5/5 stars due to unbearable humidity (no AC, moisture on restroom fixtures, vending machine, and lobby table). Managed a short treadmill workout with a fan, but maintenance was poor: no toilet paper, soap, or proper wipe dispensers, wobbly sink, torn equipment leather, and empty boxes left on the ground. Positives: spacious facility with a large free weight section. With better air flow, maintenance and sanitation, it could be easily a 5-star gym.

No problem, showed up and talked to the manager, filled out my cancellation form and that was that. Music is blasting so you can’t hear your own headphones and there’s ads every 2 minutes, there’s a flickering light on the ceiling that makes the whole machine area very uncomfortable, the bathroom smells like a urinal, the sink is falling off the wall and there’s not a drop of hot water from the shower or sink.
This isn’t a Michelin star restaurant on a Saturday night - all you have to do is basic cleaning and maintenance!

Nobody is ever at this gym. Its almost impossible to get ahold of someone. I canceled my membership in October 2024. To this day, they are STILL trying to charge me even though I have all signed documents and dated emails relating to cancelation.

Stay away from this gym. They're grossly incompetent at what they do with YOUR money. I'm now corresponding with corporate to STOP all these wrongful charges.

I recently started visiting this location a couple times a week. Everytime, there’s no more that 2-3 people in the gym, which I LOVE but I understand why now. The bathrooms are disgusting. I’d rather take my chance at a truck stop! The trash is always overflowing, the music is loud & highly inappropriate. I would never see an employee for the first 2-3 weeks but now there’s a lady that’s there who walks around barefoot or just socks & on her phone. Never speaks, don’t see her cleaning the bathroom. Fast forward four years later and I was in the area today and decided to use this gym. I was greeted by the sign on the door that they currently don't have management...okay. The absolute worst experience ever. Thomas refuses to answer my calls or emails. I have been trying for MONTHS to cancel my membership. after finally turning in the cancellation form i got charged ANOTHER $70 the very next month. Good luck ever trying to cancel. The only time Thomas responds to anything or reaches out is if he’s trying to update payments.

I went in to get a cancellation form in person in June. Was told he could not print one, so he sent me a form online that I could fill out and send back via email, and he would finish up the rest. Which is weird to edit a document AFTER it’s been signed 🚩. He said as long as I could get it back before he left for the day, he would put it in.

I sent the email back 27 minutes later, at 2:46PM and requested a final copy of the finished cancellation form.

Fast forward to August, I’m charged again. I call their corporate office and I’m told that the cancellation was never processed, and it should have easily been done considering I’m on a month-to-month contract. I followed up with yet another email, informing Thomas that the corporate office said that the gym should offer a refund for any fees after I sent in my cancellation form, not including any payment that was already pending or due during that payment period. It is now October and I am still being charged by this scammy gym, and Thomas has refused to respond to any and all emails. On top of that, they never answer the phone.

I have proof of every email, phone call, the signed cancellation form, timestamps and dates. I haven’t blocked, denied, or restricted any attempt for the gym to contact me. And will be going in person today.

The manager of this place is a scammer. I signed a one-year lease while I was in TX, and I had to move out to VT a month later. It was inconvenient to drive to Anytime Fitness from my new apartment so I decided to cancel my lease and was ready to pay the penalty but Tom, the manager of the gym won't respond to his calls, and when he does, he will find an excuse to help me get my problem solved. It looks like he knows that I can't travel to Dallas to take this care of so he’s taking advantage of the situation and scamming me. I hate the situation I found myself in and I hate calling this guy every day. My name is now in the collection. I still call him every day and he keeps telling me that he’s trying to reach out to his boss. He won't call me back so he clearly is not on top of his job.

Under new management! And that’s a great thing! Thomas, the new manager at the Lewisville location is doing a great job of trying to turn this gym around. He’s personable, helpful, and offers great tips as to what exercise routine works with your body type and/or any physical limitations you may have. The HVAC is.now repaired! New light fixtures are being discussed in the free weights area, so stay tuned. This location. Is very convenient to those of us who live in The Valley subdivisions. I can even walk or ride my bike to it. Give this gym another try. Good things are happening!

This place is under new management as of December, 2023. The appearance of the club is much cleaner than it was before, and tha management seems to be committed to repairing and upgrading the equipment. Thomas, the manager, has done a great job of getting badly needed repairs and cleanliness to the club. Most of the TVs have been repaired, as has much of the lighting.

I’ve been a gym member here for about seven years and was sad to see how far it had slipped over the last couple of years. In particular the general cleanliness and upkeep had fallen off. Dirty floors, dirty windows, dirty and breaking down equipment, wipe stations routinely empty and garbage cans regularly overflowing.
Thomas has done a fantastic job cleaning and restoring upkeep in his first week. It’s nice to see someone here who cares and puts effort in to the job!

Took my money never gave me a key and kept charging my account, i called several times spoke to management and she remembered me told me she would fix it but didn't. The owner NEVER replied after multiple messages . Now i have a letter about collections! NEVER USE this very unprofessional place i would appreciate a call and remedy on this asap.

I am not sure what has been going on but the gym has been really dirty for the past months. Windows all have fingerprints and restrooms are really dirty as well as the carpet. Just the whole gym looks like it hasn’t been clean. I really hope someone starts cleaning the gym because I love it there.

Be forewarned this gym does not care about your fitness and well-being. It's number 1 goal is to sell contracts. You will be lied to just to make that sale. Make sure you do not leave that office until you fully read and understand that contract. Even if it takes 2 hours.
READ, READ, READ that contract!
You are signing up for a 2 year contract. The 1 year is available if you pay it in full. No money to be made at a 1 year.
1. You have 3 days to cancel. Make sure you understand that!
2. You will be solicited by the personal trainer via all forms of communication. Just another contract.
3. Expect no response to emails or voicemails when you have questions or discrepancies.
4. When you finally figure out that you have been lied to expect "You signed the contract " will be their only response.
5. You will not receive any disclosure about the terms of the contract. Remember the contract is for the benefit of the company.
Stop payment to that contract! You will get their attention. Non stop calls and emails after that.
This is a no frills gym! You definitely do not get what you pay for.

Total scam at this location. Been with Anytime Fitness since 2013 a loyal member loved the brand. But recently got with a trainer. Situation came up tried to cancel the want to charge me $2400 to break a contract. Never mentioned it was a year contract or breaking it would be an absurd amount. The word contract never came up you think you're signing up to just be able to charge your card for the payments which is fine I was aware of how much I was paying. But I was going to try it out see how I liked it I didnt come to them they solicited me while I was working out to get a free lesson. Now that I want to cancel they add all these charges for having a trainer. Why is there even a contract for a year nobody needs a trainer for that long learn what you need to learn and start doing the workouts by yourself.

Edit: Dont believe the positive reviews for this location they are fake. Everything about it is a scam and you can tell by all of us 1 stars are saying similar things. They try to sound good on Google when they reply but they wont be upfront about information i.e. the "contract" with a trainer. The word contract or agreement never came up and was never emailed a copy like they say. I've been to many Anytime Fitness locations most are good this is the worst location. Although you might be able to cancel if you die which is stated on there end.
Also future warning to all others if you try to call dont worry Monica sees it she just doesnt answer Ive witnessed it

Beware when you go to cancel your membership, they tack on erroneous fees and then continue to collect payment via ACH even though you have paperwork showing the membership was canceled. I had to eventually block them from my bank account as no one would answer the phone or respond to my message about the charges taken out of my account.

This anytime fitness location has been here as long as I can remember. It's pretty much a relic of what the standard was over 15 years ago.
The first half of the location when you walk in is pristine! Lots of space, plenty of equipment and lots of good lighting and airflow.

However when you get to the back to where the weights are... You will see why I gave it 2 stars. Very cramped, tight corners, unkept, old equipment with no upgrades. The worst part is the space honestly. It's really time for an upgrade or remodeling of this area.
This is the main reason I'm giving it such a low score, it really is that bad back there. Some of the weights aren't even the correct weight. There is no ventilation back there either and the ac doesn't seem to reach or even be on. It always gets very humid back there (even if you're there by yourself).

This could have been designed so much better.

Do not sign up for membership at this gym the miscommunication is unreal! You'll never be able to contact the manager of the gym, I have verifiable proof of countless unanswered emails and vm left on their phone. They will not notify you that you'll be signing up for a contract, they'll tell you that you can cancel at anytime, which is a lie! The only option you'll be offered when inquiring about to cancellation is to freeze your subscription, in which they'll charge you a monthly freeze fee for (another charge they don't tell you about or mention). I also was made aware that our subscription would auto renew in November (without our consent). We chose to go with cancel our subscription with this gym because we both travel for work too much and we're never here. They offer no amenities at all and the gyms upkeep is not very great for the price you pay, take your money elsewhere there are better facilities.

Canceled membership back in December, or was told it would be in person. almost 3 months later still being charged and the management will not respond to calls, messages, or emails. I moved away from the area and was told the contract would be cancelled with no more charges because of military orders. They either lied or forgot to do what they said they were going to, neither are characteristics of a business I would like to give money to. I enjoyed the gym while I was using it, but their communication and customer service are non-existent. The one time after meeting in person I was able to contact them over phone, they told me the charges would "finish out at the end of the month", maybe they forgot to do that to, or lied. Either way I cannot get my membership cancelled almost a quarter of a year after I was told it would be.

I like this gym. It’s close by, open 24x7, people are nice and helpful. The manager was very helpful in making sure I knew how to use some equipment to maximize my workout while ensuring I didn’t hurt my body from something dumb. She was very encouraging and motivating. The staff is interactive with all members and are knowledgeable of the equipment but also the workouts needed depending on your goal. I recommend this place for an in and out workout.

Ive been a member of AF for over 6 years. This is not the original gym location I signed up with (That was Spring, TX), but is my home gym now. I’ve transferred to 4 different locations across the DFW metroplex and have had great experiences at each and every one. I travel for work and workout at many different locations across the US. One thing I love about AF is I know what I’m getting wherever I go. That is similar layouts and great customer service wherever I go. I haven’t had a negative experience at any location, including this one.

Since I travel as much as I do, I have memberships at three different gyms (LA, Golds and AF). This allows me flexibility to find somewhere to workout no matter where I’m located. I see a lot of complaints (go read any gym review, LA, 24, AF, Gold’s, insert name here, etc) and they all are about cancellation policies and frustrations. Funny thing is, the contracts are all very similar in how they read and the requirements for how to cancel. 99% of the time you have to go to your home club or send in a letter to corporate to cancel. This is clearly stated in the contracts people. Read before you sign. I’ve never had a problem canceling a gym membership because I know how to follow the procedure.

Now this location. I come in at various times throughout the day, and during normal hours, it’s always staffed and they are very welcoming and inviting. If there’s ever a complaint about a dirty bathroom, cleaning supplies out, hot, cold, whatever, it’s always been immediately addressed. If for some reason, they had to leave, there’s a sign on the door and a number to contact for any reason. I rarely see broken, busted or down equipment, which is usually the #2 complaint with most gyms. My only complaint with any gym is people think their mothers work there and will pick up after them. Plain and simple, put your weights away.

This is a great gym, great staff and great members. You can read the negative reviews, but all the gyms down the street all have the same reviews. Contracts are legally binding documents people, read them before you sign or at least ask the important questions. It’ll save you and the club management/ownership a ton of unnecessary headaches. Stay healthy.

I have visited this location several times while traveling the staff is amazing the place is always clean and the Manager Monica is truly the best! She always goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are satisfied!! I enjoy her and the rest of the staff they definitely make you feel welcome !! I really enjoy going to this gym. It's always clean and well kept up with. It has a good assortment of equipment that covers pretty much everything you need....cardio equipment, machines, and free weights. Monica (the manager) is always very friendly and helpful.
