My problem isn't with the gym or fonzie. It's the fine print in the contract that the Anytime fitness franchise has put in. I have to cancel my contract three months early due to leaving the country. I had to pay a $101 cancelation fee but the remaining three months would have been $75. They now are messaging that I owe $50 on top of the $75 and the $101 cancelation fee. Not sure this is good business ethics but this is how they choose to punish customers for leaving. Would not recommend signing a contract without reading the fine print. FYI, i you die, your grieving relatives have to show a death certificate and get charged a cancelation fee. It seems like their contracts are a reoccurring issue.

Hey your WoodWay treadmill is broken and super dangerous! Also this place needs some deep cleaning badly. Bathrooms smell moldy, dust and bugs behind and around equipment. Whoever wrote the reviews saying this place is clean must be a paid for or very old review.

1st time here OMG I had to pee the 1st restroom I went into smelled horrible there was a toilet full of poop like someone died in there. I got out of there quick the 2nd I went into I peed and it wouldn't flush i think the need to get their plumbing fixed. The restrooms are very dirty toilet paper outside the restrooms and all over the floor inside the restroom also the floors are dirty. Yall need to be better this is so ridiculous.

One of the best Anytime's I've been to in over a decade. Facility is always clean, equipment is repaired very quickly, and the atmosphere/culture here is great.

Fonzi, the manager, is very friendly and social. He makes everyone feel welcomed, promoting a positive culture at Lockhart Anytime. Highly recommend.

this gym is always clean both facility and bathrooms. Its not too busy, staff is incredible! Both the trainer and gym Manger are very educated in training and very welcoming! The whole environment is just amazing! The only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars is because they do NOT have bumper plates.

I shopped around and compared gyms before committing to Anytime. Anytime has newer equipment, more space, and the friendliest staff. They offer a special discount for teachers, which is extremely beneficial. I have been a member for over five years and have no regrets! You won't be disappointed. Tell em I sent ya:)

The gym is always clean and Fonzie is always there welcoming and making sure things are running smoothly. Best management of the gym. Everyone there is friendly and will help you out if you need help with a machine or being spotted at the barbell. There new trainer Jaun is great too very helpful as well. Fonzie and Jaun make it a gym to workout in. I recommend this gym to anyone who asks what gym to go to in this town. Amazing gym with no judgement!!!

I'm honestly very upset because when I called about a month ago to cancel my membership no one ever answered I called minimum 4 times per day for a whole month and nothing. They don't even have a voice-mail setup which is ridiculous. I had to drive 40 min to go cancel it because I no longer live there. When I got there I called to see if maybe the phone don't work and it rang but on one answered it even though they heard the phone ringing very unprofessional. If u they dont want to work there then why are they there? Will NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN AND DONT RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE.

I absolutely love this gym! Always clean and the staff are super friendly. The machines are spaced out perfectly so there’s no overcrowding. I’ve tried all the other gyms and this is definitely the best option :)

When I signed my contract in January of 2020, I wasn't anticipating being unable to use the facilities for years. They offered no cancellation options (even if you're injured or sick) and only offered to freeze the account (and then tack those months onto the end of the contract). Even though - because of childcare - I was in constant contact with high-risk individuals during the height of COVID, they had no issues continuing to charge full price. The facilities are sub-par and the times that I did come in, it was dirty and there were dirty paper towels on machines. I went in to terminate my auto-renewal and was told I'd have no more charges after the middle of March, but they've continued to charge me and claim that they have no record of anyone giving me that information.

Do not sign their fitness contract! It’s a scam! Read between the fine lines. If there’s an emergency there is no pay upfront to void the contract. Best thing you can do is transfer your contract to the anytime fitness in bastrop! Pay for clean services and useful equipment! It’s a very dirty facility and the majority of their workout equipment is broken. Plus their tanning machine never works and front door is always broken. You will never find a professional manager on site.

This gym has gone downhill over 3 years. Used to be clean, cared for and worth the higher monthly price tag. Now it's not. Hasn't been clean for many months. Bathrooms look pretty dirty most times, dusty mirrors & more. The TVs have been turned off for 2 years. Don't waste your money. Make the drive to Bastrop to Planet Fitness. 1/2 the price per month, top notch gym and staff & mgmt that have some care.

This is the absolute WORST customer service I've ever experienced - and I've worked in customer service for many years so I'm usually not a complainer. My two-year membership ended in May 2021, and I called ahead of my contract's termination date just to make sure I didn't need to come in and sign anything in order for the membership to cancel. The manager told me I didn't need to take any action, that my membership would cancel automatically on May 15th and I wouldn't be charged again after that. When a charge from Anytime came through in June, I called several times and no one answered the phone so I filled out the email form on their website asking someone to contact me. Rachel Rivas called me back and told me she's the new manager, and that the previous manager was no longer with Anytime Fitness. I explained the situation to her and told her that he had said I wouldn't be charged and that my membership would cancel automatically and her response was, "Yeah, I've been hearing that he told a lot of people that." Then she proceeded to tell me that I DID need to come in to the gym to sign a membership cancellation. I told her I've moved away from Lockhart and that I can't drive there just to sign a form, and asked if she could scan the form to me and I'd sign and scan it back. Her response was, "no, we can't do that because we only have iPads." What????? This is 2021 for God's sake, I can buy a HOUSE via DocuSign. She ended up telling me the only way to cancel would be to send a letter via Certified Mail, and that I would still be charged within 30 days after they received it. So I took time out of my work day to go to the post office and spend $4 on sending a Certified letter on June 18th. On July 13th, the letter was returned to me saying it was "unclaimed" and "undeliverable." So...basically I've tried everything I can think of to cancel my membership short of driving two hours to Lockhart to sign in-person because Rachel Rivas refuses to honor the previous manager's statement to his customers. I've lost nearly $100 now because they just keep charging my account, all while not responding to emails or phone calls or CERTIFIED MAIL. Rachel's absolute refusal to work with customers is completely astounding.

This is actually Shelley Brewer. Since Rachel came, the door has always been locked, the place is a lot cleaner, and she responds very quickly to us when we tell her something is wrong with a machine. She is a real manager, and I know personally that she has been up to her ears keeping people from admitting their friends when the manager is not there. I believe the non-members were causing most of the mess, especially in the bathrooms. She took the doors off the room with the wood floor, because rather than being installed with a metal frame to hold them, they were pinned just to sheetrock. It's a wonder they didn't fall in and hurt someone. Kudos to her for being sharp enough to notice that. I liked Lloyd a lot, but I think he was tired of the job and needed a change. In fact, he told me so.

Was a decent gym until they got new management. She just sits in her office most of the time, doesn’t do walks to ensure the gym is neat and orderly, and one of the bathrooms has been locked since March or so. I don’t feel this is a good value for your money gym and I’ll probably give this gym a couple more months to fix things before I cancel

I liked the gym until recently when new management took over. The on-demand videos are no longer available because the owner decided not to renew the subscription. This was a benefit that was sold as part of my membership. One of the doors to the mirrored studio has been removed. I felt safer with the doors closed while doing yoga and Pilates moves. The door gave me a heads up that someone had come in. Some of it is the small things like one of the bathrooms is always locked. One of the sanitizing wipes dispensers has been broken off the wall and not repaired. I asked the lady in the office for contact info for the manager or the owner since she is not in charge of paying for the subscription, but she was unable to give me a way to communicate my concerns to them. I will be watching and considering my membership options.

It's a clean gym with a good selection of equipment. I wish there was a bit more working space around machines. My only complaint is when it's full it's FULL making it hard to walk around other people without feeling like your crowding them.

I've been to the one in Buda and the one in Kyle and this one is 10 times better than those two! They always have machines out of order or the TV's don't work and don't get me started on their horrendous restrooms. This one in Lockhart is huge and has a really good selection of working machines! They have unique machines too, like the Jacob's Ladder and the curved manual treadmill! They also have a nice mirrored virtual workout room where you can play one of their many workout dvds. The projection screen comes down when you choose a video, it's really neat! And they even have a tanning bed! I've been here a few times and this place is so sparkling clean and is never super crowded when I go. I will definitely keep coming back to this one!

This Anytime Fitness is different from the Seguin and New Braunfels area. They each seem to have their own uniqueness. This location is bigger than the others and possibly have more equipment than the others.

At the time of sign up I asked if I would be able to end membership at anytime representive stated that all I had to do was come up there and that ending membership would be possible. Signed paperwork; put someone else on membership, need their signature person was not there let representative know that I would come back later he stated to just sign paperwork for person he allows people to do it all the time. I let him know that I would just come back but he became real pushy making me feel uncomfortable so I just signed so my daughter (5yrs old) and I could leave. I was ready to end my membership so I spoke to gym representatives to do so and was told that a supervisor would be in contact with me. When that never happened I went back a couple of times and there were never any managers there to help. I asked for a date/time of when someone who could help would be there and was told that they come in whenever they like. The whole ordeal is very frustrating. I understand wanting someone to sign onto a gym membership with your company but lying about the proper procedure and bending the rules shouldn’t be acceptable in any business.

Worst experience in my life of a business I have ever had. I signed up for one year november 2016 but stopped using the facility around June of 2017 as i did not feel it was for me. I turned in the key advising them that I had stopped using their facility but today, January 2018 my account was charged the monthly fee again , i was posses so I called the facility and was advise that the contract renews itself month to month a discussion we never had. I was advised I would have to go in person to cancel my contract but since I am in chicago visiting the grandkids I asked if I could cancel here because I am not returning to Texas til the end of the month and since they are national and have a facility here, I was told no, that I would have to cancel where I signed up. Even if I cancel at the end of the month I will still be charged for February since it takes weeks to process the cancellation. So beware folks, be sure you get a copy of the contract, and understand their ttermination process.
