I experience excellent customer service from Harlie at anytime fitness in Magnolia. She went above and beyond in assisting me of becoming a member. We had a difficult time up front in registering me. I actually thought she forgot about me, but she made it a point to make sure I was entered in the system to become a member. A woman of her word. I love that about her and she is very friendly.

I signed up for this gym back in January. Some opportunities came up to coach my kids, which I gladly accepted, and left me with no time to workout. I asked the local management if I could get out of my contract. They said I didn't meet the qualifications for cancellation. I am explain to them that I work 12 hours a day and then add 3 hours of coaching with drive time, I physically didn't have time. They sorry for your bad luck and you still have to pay us. I have emailed regional management and have gotten no response. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone.

Very impressed with how the regional manager handled a recent issue.

Been going to this gym now for over 5 years. We’ve had our fair share of managers throughout the years. I’ve never had an issue with any of them and consistently get a good workout in 6-7 days a week. It may not have the most up to date equipment but it’s clean and never too busy. There’s currently no better option close to this location.

Recently a few of the regulars, including myself had negative interactions with an anytime employee that recently started working at this location. This came to a head with another long term member a few days ago.

We were able to reach out to the regional manager and he took care of the issue expeditiously and was very reasonable. I was impressed with how quickly he resolved this and actually valued our concerns. I understand there’s been a lot of turnover with employees and that can be frustrating for members and management.

This is a really good gym I'm working on getting in shape and losing weight for my health and the women at the desk who help me she was really nice I forgot her name she told me about the gym and gave me papers to sign and she was really helpful nice person the gym is clean the bathrooms are nice and clean and their was a man at the gym looking around and he help Me great guy and very helpful I should of Introduced myself but I was a little nervous but that's Quite all right very helpful and kind people their I really recommend going to this gym if your looking for a gym in the Magnolia area and plus I'm very religious christian but theirs a church next to the gym and alot of people go here very nice and respectful people the lady at the front desk was very respectful if I had questions she answered them respectfully and she was very helpful thankyou for helping me.

Unacceptable Behavior and Lack of Transparency from Front Desk Staff

I'm writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with the handling of a recent situation at Anytime Fitness, specifically regarding the actions of front desk staff member, Franchell Christian.

My experience was deeply unprofessional and frankly, unacceptable.
Two days after my membership fee was processed, my key fob was deactivated without any prior notice or warning. This action stemmed from a disagreement over my workout attire—a fully covered sports bra. While I immediately complied with Franchell's request to put on a shirt, the subsequent deactivation of my access was completely unwarranted and demonstrated a severe lack of judgment.

What brought this issue was Franchell's refusal to provide me with the gym's corporate/ownership contact information (phone number and email) when I requested it to escalate this matter. This lack of transparency and unwillingness to facilitate proper communication is deeply concerning. Furthermore, when I requested to see the gym handbook to understand the alleged rule violation, I was denied access. The online information states that each location has its own rules, therefore I would like to review them.

This situation was handled poorly and with a clear abuse of power/open door policy. Deactivating a paying member's access without warning, especially after immediate compliance with a request, is not acceptable. It also shows a lack of respect for the members.
I am aware that other members share similar concerns about Franchell's actions and are considering leaving the gym. I urge Anytime Fitness management to address this situation promptly and to provide clear guidelines and training to ensure staff members understand the importance of respectful communication and fair treatment of members.

I request that someone from corporate contact me directly to discuss this matter further. I hope this review serves as a catalyst for positive change and improved member experiences at this location.

I do not recommend this gym at all. It was my favorite until new management. The new manager has no idea what she is doing, incredibly rude to speak to. She is not in the best interest of the members, every conversation I’ve had with her she was so inconsiderate and had the worst attitude the entire time. The gym stays filthy and disgusting, she puts up nonsense signs all over the gym, when it obviously stays dirty due to poor housekeeping. Everyone i have spoken to in the gym avoids her and wants to move. Sad that it has gone downhill, as it used to be my favorite place!

Have been trying to rejoin for months. Never can get anybody on a phone to help. Their cleaning or not in they'll give you a call back . Which I have received a call but unfortunately I missed it. Never in my life have I ever met a woman so rude. I asked nicely for her to turn down the tvs the 4tvs in the gym all on different stations. She went to one area and turned it down a couple of notches, and walked off. We had a little discussion after, and now she canceled my account. Locked out after paying. I expect someone to give me a call. OWNERS SHE IS RUNNING IT INTO THE GROUND. I know many people here, and they will follow me to another gym.

Great gym with the machines and free weights I'm used to.
Franchell made my transition from another gym to this an easy process, including working with insurance.
She is a delight and is always there to help or answer a question or address a concern. While a little outdated inside, I saw them adding TVs today and heard they will be knocking out walls to do a renovation to better streamline and accommodate everyone.

Lovely facility, but HORRIBLE management. We've never had an issue at any other anytime fitness but today me and my brother were asked to leave because he got the key fobs mixed up. The rude lady then told us he was not on the plan and he had to leave. This made no sense considering we have been going to other locations in Houston and our accounts are perfectly fine there. She told us her system was up to date but it was clearly not considering he was on the plan when I contacted another location. We were told that our key fobs would work at any location and they have for the past few years we've been using anytime fitness. I do not know what happened today but nothing was explained well to us and we ended up not getting to finish our workout. I would not recommend this location to ANYONE until this awful management is figured out.

Run as far as you can from this fraudulent place. They ripped me off bad!! I signed up handed my first payment went through perfectly. First month on auto pay same thing. Then the 2nd and 3rd month didn't get charged. I didn't notice it, until I received a phone call that I was in COLLECTIONS!! I was so angry bc the lady in charge of my first payment saw me coming in everyday during the morning. And she never thought to stop me and say hey something happened with your payment or anything. I never changed my card number or my form of payment so I never understood why that happened. I've heard of this happening to so many others. Run far away from this place!!

• Don’t worry about paying for a membership, if you get in with the nutrition store down the street or anyone from Magnolia or Magnolia West someone will just let you in.
• Last time I was here a man was strapping two handguns and an ammo belt to himself so… there’s that.
• Membership prices, which again don’t matter cause anyone will let you in, are going up again in April.

In closing, if you NEED a gym, this Mad Max style Thunderdome will be great for you, otherwise shell out some extra money for a better gym.

My friend and I work out every evening around 7:45 and at times it is busy but most of the time it’s not. Don’t have to wait for machines or equipment, everyone is friendly. Brittany makes sure she does what she can to ensure everyone enjoys there work out.

Good enough...I dont like we have to pay an extra $80 a year for gym maintenance but nothing is ever replaced or fixed or new. I work out in the late evenings and there's never any staff around. There hasn't been any issues but it's strange there is no one there to supervise anything. Never any classes going on or personal trainers around. Would it kill you to get rid of the many spiders up in the rafters!?!? Sux to be working out and look up and see giant spiders 🕷 up above my head.

Last I was there the equipment was showing a lot of wear, but it's been over a year. Maybe that was addressed I do not know. Oh, and don't ever try to cancel your membership. I've been going round and round with these people for months, and it's almost impossible to stop through there when they are open. It should happen over the phone but they want certified letters and first born sacrifices before being released. It's a hassle to say the very least. I've never witnessed such backward foolery.

The management at this place is a joke. No one answers the phone or returns calls. Absolutely no way of contacting them. On the rare occasion you actually can get ahold of someone they tell you that your membership has been canceled, yet I’m still being charged. This has happened twice and I’m still being charged! We canceled our membership as requested, in person at the branch back in 2019. Almost two years later we received a collection on our credit. I’ve called anytime’s corporate billing and they instructed me that we did it correctly, but the branch didn’t process it correctly. I have been a member for some months now, no hiccups, just pumping Iron :) they are really nice about possible new members working out once before signing up. Ive been to most of the gyms in the area what sets this gym apart is the small wooden floor gymnasium that is always open and never crowded when I go there,. great for cardio and agility drills. :) being right next to grocery store helps with 2 birds one stone.

John, the owner is a crook. I cancelled my membership in February 2016 with Gerardo and since then they have charged me $262.00 in fees. I have fought back and forth with them for he past week to get my money back and he only wants to give me $95.00. This is obviously unacceptable. He wants to claim it's at the corporate level that they won't refund, but considering John is the OWNER of this franchise, if he had any integrity at all, he would refund me himself for the wrong he has done. So clearly he's just looking for excuses. I would not recommend ANYONE do business with this location as he is clearly money hungry, dishonest and doesn't actually give a crap about the people who go there. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up and then back out on it. ALSO they charged me DOUBLE what they said the monthly fee would be. This is just the FIRST step in what I'm going to do to get the word out about this business. I've lived in this community for 28 yrs and worked in it for several of those years. I plan to tell everyone I know and the BBB is my next stop. Hope you enjoy taking money from a mother of 3 John. Hope you're satisfied with yourself.
