Old school cancelation issues - for sure. Lots of finger pointing and delays (by design) because they know the psychology of humans cancelling or returning things in a timely manner - myself included. This is what happens when you no longer have gym membership "contracts" that were fully enforceable. It's all "month to month" but do NOT let that fool you. The key is the "independently owned" part of their business model. Ooooph - it's VERY difficult to get help especially if (like me) you've moved a few times during the membership, or (also like me) your club CLOSES. But 5 months after a written (and acknowledged) confirmation to cancel - from the Anytime Fitness employee that set the account up to begin with (who is conveniently no longer there) - and I'm still getting charged for a multi person membership. About a thousand bucks?! I'm done. Officially filling out a small-claim through Tarrant County website. Filing through BBB also - which nobody cares about (they aren't an accredited business) but I'll cut and paste that into every review app that I find online - and to include for the courtroom. I hate to have included the manager from Saginaw - but her follow up doesn't seem to be on my schedule either.
UPDATE: got two of the four cancelled at a club - just by luck - but unable to cancel the other two as they weren't "owned" by the same club. And don;'t ask for contact info for the other club - they'll all tow the company line. Their job - make NO MISTAKE - is to keep you on the hook for that $50 or so - per month, per member. It's a remarkably disappointing process for something that promotes health and wellness.

I am giving Anytime Fitness in Saginaw 5 stars because of the welcoming and always friendly staff!! The gym is big enough that I never have to wait for a machine or weights to be available, but small enough that I recognize most of my "gym family" every time I'm there. Candace strives to make everyone feel welcome and included and I always get a good workout in when I'm there!

This is by far the worst gym I've ever been a member to. They make it trouble to cancel you have to go in in person. They charge almost 60 per month for their cheapest membership. But the amenities are only available at local gym. They have a tanning bed that half the bulbs are burnt out. There is maintenance fees twice a year that cost a total of 80 bucks per member but nothing gets fixed. The weights are all different sizes. it's never clean most of the time you can't even find a working treadmills they are all damaged in some way whether be the torn belting or clumping under your feet, but they keep them running. theres alot of issues with these money hungry people I suggest exploring other options planet fitness is half the price and way more bang for your buck. There is multiple locations ran this way they dont invest back into business similar too a slumlord id say. If you dont want to get robbed look elsewhere. Planet fitness is better option by far.

Still the best location in spite everything. The clients make the owners look bad by never picking up after themselves and the women's bathroom is never available for anyone coming in outside of staffed hours. But at least their AC works and their water fountain is cold, unlike the haltom location.
And, at least, they don't have music on full blast through the speaker system

DIRTY & DUSTY...I can see why the ratings are low. The bathroom was really gross & dirty. The treadmill I used had long pieces of hair on the belt and in the cupholder. Something was dried on the equipment like spilled coffee or shake, and the handrails were very sticky. Overall the place is dusty & dirty, not to mention it was hot...no airflow. Will not return.

Definitely the worst anytime gym I’ve been to, probably the worst one I’ve been to in general. They don’t have nearly enough machines to get a balanced/good workout. Most of the machines they do have are broken, and there is never anyone at the location. I’ve went a few times to speak to the manager (I believe her name is Candace) and she is never there. It’s time for that gym to get torn down or redone to make room for a gym that cares about its customers fitness and success.

After my previous update, I sent an email via the Anytime Fitness website to express my dissatisfaction with how my situation was handled. In a matter of minutes, I received an apology and the assurance that my concerns would be addressed, including escalation of my refund request. Monday (11/04/24) morning, I received a text message from Candace letting me know that she had been on leave and would submit my refund request. A couple of hours later, she called to let me know she had been out of the office the previous week. She said I should have received an out-of-office reply email letting me know she was out, to which I responded that I had not. She immediately let me know that she had chosen to use leave to spend time with her daughter, as is her right to do, because she did not want to lose it in January. She also stated it was for the fact that I did not receive an out-of-office reply when I emailed her that she was apologizing. (Point taken!) I shared that my issue wasn't that she had taken time off. Not my concern. Rather, my issue is that during her absence, there was no one for members to reach out to for assistance. There was no way for me get a key fob to enter and use the facility. (But wait ... my membership was processed on Monday, October 28th. She was on leave all week. Then with whom was I communicating via email?) But I digress, she attempted to explain that away by saying they do not see the benefit in having someone available during absences because they are a small business, and she is the only manager on staff. She asked if I still wanted to proceed with the membership cancellation. Of course, I do! Clearly, ensuring there were no issues with my access to the facility was not important enough to warrant a 2-3 minute follow-up phone call. Again, my membership request was processed on Monday, October 28th, but I guess I was supposed to wait for a week to gain access to the facility. At a minimum, that is woefully unprofessional. I read the reviews before contacting them, but chose to anyway. I should have heeded the numerous other poor reviews of Anytime Fitness - Saginaw. I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they singlehandly proved all of the negativity to be well-deserved. Do better!

STILL have not been able to make contact with the "staff" to make arrangements to pick up my key fob. I have changed my review of this establishment due to their lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I left yet another voice mail message this morning requesting a full refund of all monies paid.

I met with Candace initially, and prior to joining she was responsive and professional. Now, that they have my money, I am no worthy of the same professionalism and courtesy.

10/31/24 ... I joined several days ago, as noted in my message below, and have been trying to gain access to the gym ever since. I've emailed only to have it come back to me stating it was unmonitored. I've called, left a voice mail, texted and even gone to the gym, and haven't been able to connect with anyone. I'm running out of options here. If I can't gain access to it, then I need a full refund of what I've already paid. You obviously have my contact information, so please contact me for instruction on how I can get my key fob. Thank you!

I had been considering obtaining a gym membership again now that I have recovered from my foot surgery 10 months ago. Returning to Planet Fitness was not an option for me due to the crowds, so I visited Anytime Fitness. I met with one of the staff, and was given an indepth overview of the gym and their programs, as well as, a tour of the facility. It was clean, organized, and "quaint", all huge pluses for me. I decided to join and am excited to get back to regular physical activity.

Has to be the worst gym I’ve ever seen. Broken benches, outdated machines, cable attachments are falling apart, ropes hanging together by threads, stretching mats are in tatters with holes in them, no turf area, no sleds, only 2 elastic bands, tiny laminate floor section to stretch etc, 2 squat racks, one set of each dumbbell up to 100, half of the gym is taken up by treadmills. On top of all that, it’s filthy all the time and all of the “wipe” dispensers are broken. It’s almost funny that they charge the same rate as other anytime locations.

I don't know what's up with all the negative reviews. It's smaller than other locations, but it has everything I need. The staff (Candace) is really friendly and the location is rarely crowded.
The building is old, but Candace keeps it clean. The bathrooms are private and have plenty of room to change clothes. The showers are nice. The other members are mostly quiet and will stay to themselves, but are very friendly if you engage them.

If you're considering joining, I'd definitely recommend stopping by and viewing the facilities before signing a contract. The contracts ARE real and binding. I plan to frequent this location for as long as I live in the area.

I'm a member of another location and dropped in a few times to this location. I've been to several different locations across the country, and this by far ranks at the bottom. Not horrendous, but definitely does not live up to the brand that I've experienced at many different other locations. Most of the machines I used were functioning properly. Has the basic selection of free weights, machines and cardio equipment. Gym has a dark and run down feeling to it. It gets the job done, but no way I'd pay for a membership with this as my home gym.

Went in to cancel my membership since I moved recently, and the owner was acting like a petulant child towards me. When I walked in to cancel she responded in a snarky manner how she was on “break. Her attitude continued as she made more remarks during the cancellation process. When I pushed back a little she acted like her annoyance was over the system being faulty… which was funny because a few seconds before she complained about people bothering her on break lol. We are moving across the country and my fiancé went ahead of us. The closest location is over an hour away. I sent emails and voicemails trying to discuss his membership cancelation. I finally got a voicemail and returned the call. Candice continued to speak over me the entire conversation, she did not take the time to listen to anything I had to say. I had to raise my voice just to get a word in. When I returned the gross behavior she was giving me and told her she was being rude, she got an even bigger attitude and hung up on me. I will be contacting corporate. It seems I’m not the only person who has negative service from this employee. This place doesn’t care about you or your fitness, they care about the money.

I have been a member of anytime fitness for over a year now, however I have only been going consistently for about 12 weeks, 5-6 times a week. I recently went to the Azle location and to say I was in disbelief is an understatement. The cleanliness of the gym and organizing of weights and plates, the fact that there are 3 different sets of weights alone was refreshing. Upon entering the Azle location, there were 2 staff members, 1 cleaning and 1 engaging with customers, the entry was clean and I was greeted with a warm hello. The Saginaw location is in such poor care in comparison to Azle. The floors never appear to be clean, there is hardly ever an employee there, and if there is, the door is shut, or they are working out themselves or there is a sign on the door that they are out to lunch, and being there for over 2 hours each day, I have yet to see someone actually return from lunch. The Saginaw gym is a smaller gym, however with that being said, there is no reason it should take so long for machines to be fixed. There is only 1 set of weights, there is only 1 cable row machine, and that has been broken for over a month, there are only 5 treadmills and out of those, 2 are inoperable. There seems to be no urgency to clean, replace, or organize of any sort. Walking into Azle location vs Saginaw location is such a different experience. I know the Saginaw location is older, but something needs to be done. Being a paying customer who has to Constantly find alternatives because there isn’t enough weights or machines aren’t working is unacceptable.

Absolutely HORRIBLE Manager for the facility... Whoever this woman is deserves to be fired IMMEDIATELY... Will be complaining to corporate office about complete unprofessionalism.... Tried asked her a question at 1:40pm about membership (as she was out of the office walking at 2mph on the treadmill)... and she had the most ridiculous attitude saying, "What do you want I'm on my lunch break!!!" As if everyone takes a lunch break at 1:40pm?....

Customer service is literally all your paid to do, and they have failed miserably with her (woman that drives the maroon SUV)... I've never seen her actually work.... I've been a member for 5 years and this single-handedly put the nail in the coffin for us and membership here.

Nothing has changed, if anything it’s gotten worse. Machines that haven’t worked for months, shower heads that haven’t worked for months. We pay a little more for quality and that’s definitely NOT what we get. Save your money, the planet fitness down the street offers more for your money than this location.

I got a new job that requires copious amounts of traveling so I had little use for this membership as where I go there are hardly any AF’s available there. I learned about Tivity Prime through my BCBS and went that route.

I walk in, explain everything, and they tell me there is a 30 day notice and all fees incurred during said time still apply. Cool, I totally understand that. I turn my key fob in and fill out the paperwork. Here’s where it gets outrageous.

I didn’t even realize at the time that I wouldn’t have after hours access during my final 30 days. I called the gym, with the correct number as confirmed by ABC membership people, and left four voicemails with my name, number and reason for calling. FOUR voicemails over a two week span. Not one call returned. Never mind that they never answer your phone call anyhow but are they seriously too lazy to pick up the phone and call somebody back.

Had I ever thought about coming back this experience will have iced that. Bunch of lazy front office staff who obviously can’t do the simplest of tasks related to their job. No reason I have to leave that many voicemails just to never get a call back. One time here and there may be different but four times is no coincidence. They simply didn’t want to call back.

It took me canceling my debit card and getting a new one for the charges to stop.

I’m a small fish in a big pond but I wouldn’t come to this place anymore if they paid me to show up.

Ah, so you’d like to respond. I get it, these reviews aren’t a good look. So I’ll address everything mentioned as it’s still humorous.

I couldn’t care less that you got a call back , because as mentioned, I didn't receive any. If somebody came in from “leave” then I’m sure they would want to catch up on their voicemails that were left while they were gone? No? Makes sense? Your point there is a moot one. Well, here it is how much longer later and STILL no return call. Not only that but if you’re going to leave a place and not have the ability to answer calls maybe you should change your voicemail so that it DOESN’T give a timeline of when they’ll try to get back with you (Which was within 24 hours). Anyhow, hope these tips work because whoever the GM is here obviously lacks common sense.

If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve had an Anytime Fitness membership for about 18months, I moved from Dallas to Ft Worth, this was the closest to me. I spent all but 10mins in there and proceeded to call my other gym to cancel my membership and paying a lot to get out of that contract because there’s no way in hell, I’d workout at this gym. Let’s start with the windows that look like they’ve not been cleaned in years, then the mouldy abandoned warehouse smell, and what looks like black mold around the vents, none of the bicycles or ellipticals were working, like who gets a metallic toilet for a gym. What I’m trying to say is don’t! Just don’t!

Highly suggest going somewhere who respects their customers. Was here for about 6 months. Initially gave them three stars because they had broken machines and dirty! Now I’ve updated to one star. I went on a month to month contract. When I wanted to walk away because of the total disrespect by the “fitness experts” they tried charging me a ridiculous amount to cancel. Plus they kept charging my card anyway. I had to cancel that card because if their theft. They never returned my money they had stolen. I've been a member at this location going back several years and have seen the ups and downs of this facility. I feel like at one point the ownership was a lot friendlier, and more dedicated to the upkeeping of the gym. There also used to be a lot more efforts in showing appreciation to the members. Compared to a lot of other Anytime's, this one is about middle of the pack. It's not as small as some locations can be, and has a decent selection of machines and equipment. The biggest knock would be the cleanliness of the facility. No one seems to wipe down anything after use, so you'll regularly find sweat stains on the benches and upholstery of machines. The restrooms are also hit and miss as far as cleanliness goes; same goes for availability of disinfecting wipes. It normally doesn't get too busy on the weekends and early mornings, so if you're looking for a time with less traffic I suggest those.

Building and equipment is just tearing apart from when we first joined. I could never get an answer from the club to get my membership cancelled. Had to physically go up there in result for the staff member to be gone for the day. On top of that; be aware if when you need to cancel, you have to give a “30 day notice”, so will be charged 2 more times (bi weekly pymts). Unfortunately we had already signed up with another gym so now getting charged double. One positive is that this gym was definitely convenient to our home and 24 hrs. Also I appreciate the manager not giving us a hard time cancelling. I don’t see the need to squeeze an extra payment out of customer if they want to cancel. If they are cancelling they want it cancelled right then and there. I don’t understand why a 30 day notice was required.

IF YOU ARE A MILITARY MEMBER, PLEASE READ THIS TO SPARE YOURSELF SOME TROUBLE.
This location is close to Lockheed Martin, which employs service members of various branches who frequently have to relocate due to work. I have been fighting over a year to get my membership cancelled due to military relocation, and, judging by several reviews here, look like I am not alone when it comes to their poor communication and neglect of their phone line/answering machine.

Is there a reason why no one answers the phone at this club? I have literally been trying to cancel my membership since around January 2020 since my husband was deployed and we moved. I have called during business hours and have been unable to get anyone to answer and they have continued to charge us for our membership, even though we are hours from this club and cannot use it!!

I was finally able to contact an anytime fitness club in the town I live in and they tried to transfer me over, and it was an answering machine. In March of 2020, I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they may have had low staffing due to COVID-19, but as the months went by and they continued to not answer the phone, I am worried that they are trying to keep people from cancelling.

The facilities are just trash. Equipment is mismatched and in poor condition. The water fountain is broken as often as the tanning bed. The ceiling has been falling in due to storm damage for months, mold on the vents (the very few that work) A/C is almost non existent. There are 3 gyms within 2 miles and are half the price. The day manager Josh is cool and does what he can to keep the place up but the owners don't seem to care about their customers. I do not recommend at all.

I gave this company transfer orders so they was supposed to cancel. Kept charging me so I gave them a second set of orders. A year later I find out they froze my acct and started charging me again. Now they’re asking for another set of orders because they can’t find the 1st two I sent them. I actually enjoyed anytime in Florida but after this experience I’ll never go to another anytime ever again. Enjoy the money, obviously this company values money over customer service. Be warned!!! At the beginning of COVID, I tried to cancel my membership due to not feeling safe to use the gym. They informed me that in the contract I signed, I couldn’t cancel unless I was relocating. I asked, what contract? Because here’s the kicker, I NEVER signed a contract and had I known there was no way to cancel a membership, I DEFINITELY wouldn’t have signed up. Low and behold, I log in to my account to see said contract and they FORGED a signature on a contract I was never even told about. So I call corporate and explain the situation and they tell me the owner (not manager) of the gym will reach out to me in a few days. Never got a call. Moral of the story, do NOT get a membership w this gym. They are money snakes and will do anything to get a contract. I unfortunately had not read the reviews before “signing up.” Be warned.

This gym is offensively disgusting-I leave there feeling accosted by the filth on the equipment and bathrooms. Water fountain doesn't work most of the time, and when it does work, the water tastes like harsh chemicals. Staff is rarely available and only seen when they are working out and obviously don't want to be disturbed. The lighting inside is very poor. I would give ZERO star if possible as 1 star is too much for this gym.

This place is a joke, they charge an arm and a leg and its run down and half the equipment doesn't even work. (sad that they have to use pictures from other gyms cause half of those aren't from there) Kids aren't suppose to be up there and there are kids up there all the time, managers are hardly ever there or changing over left and right. Me and my husband worked out here because it was close but it just got to be to much for nothing to hardly work and then you have to pay an extra fee twice a year and I never see where that money goes. Save yourself the time and either invest in a home gym or go somewhere else....

The facility itself is great. But when it came time to cancel it was hell on Earth. When we got up there the only employee present couldn't process a cancellation and warned us to "make sure the manager actually cancels" when we can find him. We thought the cancellation went through but lo and behold we are still getting charged for a service that was supposedly cancelled.

Edit: it's a month later and we've been charged AGAIN for a service that is supposedly cancelled.

Nasty and dirty... the management is usually not in during office hours except when working out with his buddies...he places notes on the door about being out for 2 hours or Dr appt....right now the sign is about January hours and this is the second week of February....no hot water

I actually subscribed to the location in Saginaw Texas on 2 different occasions. I just wanted to get in do my thing and get out. I cannot comment on anything other than the convenience. The first owner there at the very least canceled my membership in an honest and timely manner. The next owner [short female] uses very questionable tactics when you try to cancel membership ever after your contract is over. I wouldn't recommend that location to anyone until their tactics change. Especially when its already expensive per month already.

Incompetent members enjoy not re-racking their weights or moving equipment back where it goes. Just to much work for them. The staff does not answer their phone. I left a voicemail at 8:55 Am on Friday. I never got a call back. So I called 3 more times, no answer. As soon as my contract is up, I'm going to the Edge fitness down the road.

Super disappointing... I’ve been an ATF member for 5+ years & I’ve never been to a location that’s more filthy. I was in DFW for 3 months and this was the closest location but I can tell you in the 3 months I was here I didn’t see either of the many “trainers” rack a single one of their weights, or wipe down a single machine. They were rude while working out, and were careless about the environment with their language & demeanor. The only person I saw clean up after themselves was the gentleman in the front office near the door. (can’t do it alone though) Walk around... don’t you see the disgusting dust & debri & grime on every corner of the gym? Machines? The fans have dust strands flying while they are on as if it was a steamer that was tied onto it for effect. There was times where I would see the same water bottle thrown on the ground for days until I as a member had to say “fine, I guess I’ll clean it since I work here?” Nothing against the gym I mean it’s a gym I’m a member I know the size and equipment that comes with it, but ATF represents a much cleaner environment than this. Sucks to leave such a harsh review, but it’s sometbing to consider when choosing your gym/club.

The reviews on this place are so misleading. People who complain about the year contract, you signed it, how is that their fault? Sure it isn't ideal to have a contact but it's not like they trick you into it, that doesn't merit a one star review. And the people that complain that it's small, how big do you want a the gym to be? I've been to anytime fitness's all over the world and this is one of the bigger ones and it has every piece of equipment you could want. As far as cleanliness it was clean when I was there so no complaints. Great gym, wish more anytime's were like this one.

This gym is nice because you can always get a machine but the cost does not reflect the gym. You pay a nice penny and it's disgustingly dirty and just not well maintained at all. The shower always is leaking all over the floors, the couches and chairs have ghetto ripped covers over them, the floor is never vaccummed or cleaned, the water fountain has grim all over it. I am pretty sure this gym is almost a health hazord. I've reached out to them privately and have gotten no response. I've been to several other anytime fitness' and they have all been way more maintained. I am upset I am contract with this location.

I like coming to this gym. It is quiet and clean. Toilets and showers are private and there is no funky gym smell that you run across at many of the other larger gyms in the area. People that come here appear to be serious about their workouts. The cost is somewhat greater than I paid at a previous gym that I visited for 15 years, but, to me, it is worth it.

Attempted to cancel after the contract term had expired. They refused to return our calls or accept our cancellation for 2 business days. That lead to us having to pay an extra month. This club was dirty and rarely staffed. The trainers were rude and refused to accept that we didn't want their services. We got repeated calls even after we stated we had no interest in using a personal trainer. This is not a facility that I would recommend.
