Very excellent gym for it's price, people have to understand you pay for the great equipment and amenities especially it's shower and towel service. Very friendly crowd of regulars ranging from many backgrounds, no matter what crowd you'll fit just right in, also shout out to the best staff ever here. By FAR one of the best gyms in west side SA. I've tried about 8 other gyms and they were either frustratingly busy with nothing available to use, had broken equipment, or operating hours that didn’t fit my schedule.

This Anytime Fitness location has exceptional trainers and friendly staff. Everything you need is available without waiting in a line, even during peak times. It's well maintained and clean, open 24 hours. After being a member for almost 3 years now, I've never once considered leaving or if I was getting enough value for my money.

As an added unique bonus, one of the girls is an artist and draws really cool pictures on the walls with gym notes that change periodically.

Don’t let in authorized members or you will get banned. Make sure to close the door on paying customers and staff members. The barbells are thick with zero grip. No vending machines. Fans are on full blast. Squat racks are cramped. Only one foam roller. WiFi goes in and out at times. No sauna. Some gym goers will literally stare into your soul and watch your every move. Atmosphere is not great.

This business has unfortunately not been transparent whatsoever in how they communicate their membership plans. I am currently now stuck into a contract that I cannot afford until next year, and I was informed that there is simply nothing I can do to cancel besides pay out the remainder. DO NOT JOIN this gym if you have any idea that you would possibly cancel! I am extremely displeased with the lack of communication on their behalf and wish I could go back and NEVER join. I have been a member of anytime fitness in California, Oregon, Washington and now San Antonio Texas. The staff at my local Gym at Steven's Ranch is the best I have come across anywhere. Daniel, Joanna & Brock are extremely helpful & friendly. They keep the place spic and span too. The facility and equipment is high tech, updated and new. I highly recommend

I've been going to this Anytime Fitness location since July 2023, and overall, it’s a decent gym, though it has its pros and cons. On the positive side, the gym is rarely crowded, which means I don’t have to wait long for equipment, and it generally feels like a comfortable place to work out. It’s also quite clean, including the bathrooms, though some areas, like under the equipment, could use more attention. The staff and guests are friendly, and while the gym is small, it has most of the equipment I need to get a good workout. However, there are a few downsides. The membership is pricey at $30 every two weeks, which feels steep for a gym of this size and setup. The WiFi is consistently unreliable; for example, it’s been out since Thursday, and resetting the router would probably fix it. I’ve also heard complaints about expensive cancelation fees and a lack of transparency from the staff on cancelation policies. Some of the equipment is showing its age and could use better maintenance or replacement. Overall, it’s a convenient and quieter alternative to the busier gyms on Potranco and 1604, but the cost and minor issues keep it from being perfect.

I have been a member since January of 2024; i left a previous gym in the local area because they had a lack of clear policies regarding customer behavior. I am very pleased so far with my experience at this location and have used the national membership at other locations within the states of Texas with very little issues. This potranco location is my absolute favorite mostly due to their staff. The entire staff is very professional and they handle themselves with great attitudes. While i understand not everyone gets the same reaction, I am very happy with mine and intend to continue my membership through no short part of this location's staff impressions. Great work guys and continue being THE example for this brand/location.

I use to love this gym but lately the fans are Insanely high to the point when I am resting and my sweat is drying off so fast, I’ve complained to management and no one does anything! They are blasting full speed while I am on the stair master trying to breathe. Don’t come here if you want to sweat.

We had a 1 year contract paid in advance. When we moved to this location, we were charged again for the remainder of the year since this location cost more.

We went to renew after the year and wanted to pay for another year in advance. We were told that there was no benefit to paying for 1 year in advance and recommended paying month-to-month...without mentioning that it was a 1 1/2 YEAR CONTRACT. We ended up having a baby and at 1 year decided to cancel due to no longer being able to attend...went in person to be told we can't cancel due to a contract when we literally thought we were month to month...So get charged the $100+ for 6 more months without being able to attend and go again to cancel..well you have to email in writing some other email to cancel..no big deal. Except once you email you have to give 30 DAYS notice. Well guess what? 30 days means another MONTH GETS CHARGED! What a garbage company. Why didn't we get notified this when we tried to cancel in person at 1 year? Because DUH then they COULDN'T GET MORE OF OUR MONEY.

If I could put one star I would. BEWARE OF BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES.

You are forced to sign a 2 year contract. Even if you lose your job or have medical issues, you CANNOT cancel. The club itself actually can’t can’t do anything for you. You are required to call ABC fitness to do anything. The most they offered as help was two months of the bill only being $10 to “pause” where you cannot use the gym even though they require you to pay.

My contract ended recently and I thought I would finally be done getting charged. Nope! Now it is continuing to charge me, at an EVEN HIGHER rate. They automatically renewed me even though I called ABC to cancel months ago. Now they want 30 day notice even though when I called in April I told them I wanted to cancel. They did not make me aware of any notice needing to be submitted, just that the last month of my contract was in October.

I highly suggest finding a gym without a contract, with out high rates and one that can actually help you without sending you to a third party.

Overall nice clean gym.I had the walk thru and….. if you want to use the Wexar Virtual well there is to much equipment in the room to even feel comfortable and then there is other customers working out in there most just on there phones.not really big enough some of the equipment is pointless and needs to be replaced with something everyone uses.

I've been a member for 1.5 years and have received excellent customer service from Brock at Anytime Fitness Stevens Ranch. When you walk into the gym, the staff is friendly and greets you. The staff is also consistently cleaning and sanitizing the equipment.

A suggestion / remodel for the future - possibly getting another ab machine as there is only 1. Expanding the area where the squat racks are; it's kind of tight when they are all being used. There is a fitness room (hit or miss on it's usage) with a bike, rower, weights, and a stretch machine. It's a good space to stretch or lift if the weight area is occupied. It'd be cool to use/expand that room to accommodate live instructors like Zumba, boxing, barre etc. with a large class rather than using the projector screen.

Just like any other gym there a peak times and not too busy times to visit. We love that it's conveniently located where we live!

You’re able to pause the membership for 2 months but still have to pay $10 per month, lol. Recently moved and finances are all over the place. Missed a payment and quadruple overdraft on my account (bank and gym both charge late fees). None of this was explained when signing up. Never experienced such a rigid contract with a gym. Will be signing up to Tru Fit instead, no contract and $10-$20/month there. Gym experience overall was decent, the financial experience was a disaster. Would not recommend.

It wasn’t included in the contract and just when I was unable to attend the gym again I was told I need to pay a $250 cancellation fee. This is a material information I feel should be included in the contract. If I knew of this, I wouldn’t have signed up in the first place because this amount is very expensive

I went to this Potranco location yesterday in Stevens Ranch for a tour because that’s what the 7 day free trial on line required only to be told they aren’t participating, so fine, I accepted that. My child was with me because they said that’d be fine for the tour. He had to use the bathroom and she kept telling me “I’m not suppose to let you use the bathroom.” He’s 4 and had to go and she repeated it like 10 times before letting me go as if she was doing me a favor. After a 1 minute walk around the small gym, she had no answers to any questions and claimed the reason their prices are so high (outrageous) was because of their location, it is quick and easy and will always be fewer people. Sounds like they are taking advantage of the people on the surrounding neighborhoods. Take the 10 minutes to drive down Potranco to the other gyms for a much better price.
Also, they don’t honor the Active and Fit even though several other locations do. Again, taking more of your money for rude customer service and a small gym.

First off the management has been top notch since I first came to this gym. They're super active with keeping the gym spotless and all equipment functional. Not only do they keep up with the gym, but they're incredibly welcoming and eager to help out members any way they can. Starting out, great experience. Never had issues, but had a buddy move to the area recently and took him in to try the gym out and see if he liked it and wanted to sign up. We went in that night did a short 30 minute work out and left. The next day, I got a call from a lady that worked there. She was very rude about me bringing a guest in and how it just wasn’t acceptable in today’s Covid world. Typically I respond with politeness and understanding, but the way that she came at me and they way she talked to me, I couldn’t help but be rude back to her. I take credit for that. Later that day I called and talked to a manager and after I finished explaining my story to him of what happened he proceeded to reply “so it sounds like she SIMPLY told you our rules” for me it wasn’t what she said but HOW she said it. The manager never once backed me up or understood my frustrations and seemed adamant to try and defend the employee the whole time. By the end of the discussion I was so heated at the managers condescension and lack of care that I asked to cancel my contract and just part ways. He refused to allow me to void the contract and call it done. I sent a private email to corporate just to try and get it resolved. Didn’t want any money back, didn’t want any free months just don’t feel welcome in the establishment at this point. It did 0 bit of good. The manager politely refused to cancel my contract repetitively. They would rather have an upset customer paying monthly dues for the next 6 months than to make it easier on everyone and just cancel my contract. Keep your $55 a month and I’ll mark it down as a lesson learned.

Brand new facility and I love the amenities! The management has be doing a great job of sanitizing the entire gym of couple of hours. I feel like I knkw because I'm there 4 to 5 times a week and I seem them finishing or starting their sanitizing process. They also have a wall mounted temp check when you enter the gym.

Pros:
Brand new location with new blacked out cardio machines. The machines have Netflix capabilities and Bluetooth so that you can connect your phone to the machines. Open areas for working out. Diverse machines (free weights, ellipticals, treadmills, pulley machines, workout studio). You can literally do it all! Wipes to clean everything. Staff was nice and respectful. The Wi-Fi connection was strong too!

Cons: I’m being VERY picky, but this location is in a rapidly growing area and I feel that it should’ve been bigger. I can see this one easily becoming too packed. I also would’ve preferred more cardio machines.
