I've been going consistently to Anytime for about 3 years now. I absolutely love the owners and staff. They are always smiling and willing to help when/if needed. Love the facility and services offered. If I had to complain, it's that they're ALWAYS busy (but I'm sure the owners love that), which speaks volume to how great this place is!!

On my FitQuest70 journey from Sacramento to Texas, gym #57 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, stands out as a vibrant, bustling Anytime Fitness location that blends big-box energy with the boutique charm of the brand’s signature purple vibe. This is hands-down the largest and most visited gym on my journey so far, with at least 50 people present throughout my workout. Yet, despite the crowd, it never felt overwhelming, thanks to the sheer volume of equipment—more than enough to accommodate everyone.
The gym’s layout is expansive, almost maze-like (I got lost heading to the restroom!), and it rivals claims from my previous stop, where the manager boasted having the largest gym in Texas. This location is a serious contender. The equipment appears brand-new, well-maintained, and plentiful, catering to the gym’s evident popularity in this community. I worked out on a treadmill facing large bay windows, which I loved for the natural light. The windows are mirrored from the outside, offering sun protection and privacy, though I wondered if they’re see-through at night—it might feel like exercising in a department store display!
The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and it’s clear why this gym is a local favorite. However, a few minor quirks kept it from a perfect 5-star rating. First, the restroom setup deviates from the standard Anytime Fitness hallmark. The shower room, labeled as a “changing room,” lacks a toilet, which is housed in a separate room. This isn’t a dealbreaker, but it’s worth noting for planning. Additionally, the shower itself, while equipped with a nice working fan, had a strong water flow that created a messy puddle on the floor, which was tricky to clean up. The sink in the restroom also drained slowly, adding a small inconvenience. Lastly, the shower room lacked hooks for hanging clothes or towels, a minor oversight.
These are small nitpicks in an otherwise stellar experience. The abundance of top-notch equipment, the energetic yet charming vibe, and the gym’s ability to handle a large crowd make it a standout. The paper towels in the restroom were a nice touch, and the community clearly loves this place for a reason. For anyone in Sulphur Springs, this Anytime Fitness is a fantastic choice—just come prepared for a bustling environment and a slightly quirky restroom setup.

I love this gym and highly recommend, the staff is great and very helpful!! I visit Anytime all across America and my home-base Anytime is one of my favored.

The trainer they use Angie, I would not recommend I laid out my schedule being a Truck driver gone but one full day of the week discussing my concerns. I was reassured that my specifications could be met and put down my several hundred dollar deposit. Within the first appointment we had issues as the only appointment she had would be at 6:30am. I made it to the first one on my only day off. The second one I had to reschedule because it was just to early and I'm also dealing with a father with dementia in a nursing home. My third scheduled appointment she contacted me 30 minutes prior to meeting and said she couldn't meet because she had "meals to prepare that brought her more profit" I guess then my petty several hundred dollars brought in. WOW,OKAY. On top of that she promised for a month she would email me a routine I could do on the rig.. never happened! I requested a refund and that was a whole other ordeal as it became a battle and then her price went up for a less refund return... Not to mention I had to give her my email address for the 5th time ( Remember she was emailing me exercises and still doesn't have my email address) The whole thing was a joke.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Yeah, this one is a 5 star. Huge gym, plenty of equipment, they have several rooms, and it doesn’t feel over crowded with equipment to the point of being overwhelming, or on top of each other. It’s an older building but still clean.

I'm really enjoying my workouts at this facility. Mike, the owner introduced himself during one of my workouts, which I greatly appreciated. He asked what my experience was at the gym and I told him I love the facility, as well as noticing the kindness and consideration of the members toward one another. I have visited at least a dozen other ATFs in other states across the country and this is not always the norm. The facility is also much larger and better equipped than the average, which really helps on crowded workout Mondays. Keep up the good work, Mike and thanks for having me as a member!

I didn’t love this gym. It’s pretty small and oddly shaped, it usually smelled funny and the bathrooms seemed dirty (no locker room). I switched to a different gym after a week at this location.

I've been a member for around 2-3 years now. I was extremely intimidated by a gym and had no idea how to use the equipment when I started. I'm thankful for my trainer Angie Simons who has taught me so much! I was in a low point after having my 2 babies, and exercising at anytime fitness has been a great outlet for me!

Been a member off an on since since 2016. If you can find better. Go there. Look elsewhere. Gyms lime these are a dime a dozen. Installing new tanning bed to fljistify a more intrusive payment scheme( monthly to bi-weekly) is just a means to extrapolate money from the public. My advice go to another gym or go the Wal of Marts an up your own weights and start your journey from the safe8and comfort of your home. Again there's always better, just gotta keep looking.

I am a member here. When I 1st started here I was intimidated by going to the gym, because of physical limitations and the lack of knowledge of the machine and other stuff.

I signed up for coaching and Zack taught me a lot and helped me heal ,and I gained the muscle to help me walk.

I learned the right way on how to use the machine and other weights.

I am glad I joined this gym. The other staff members are nice, this place is always clean.

I have a membership at your Sulphur Springs location. I 100% believed I was racially profiled by your staff at the gym. Me and my friend (who doesn’t have a membership) went into your gym around 8:00 last night which we have for a week since he’s back from college we make sure we pay and write our information every time. I receive a text message this morning from a lady named “Dixie” in the message she proceeded to tell me that I brought somebody into the gym that didn’t have a membership and that if I do that they need to pay $5. Which I complete understand never intended for my friend to workout for free, but I was also positive that my friend paid and signed his name on the sheet as we’ve did every day he’s been there friends name is “dee”. I gave Dixie a call right away after I received the message from her because I was assure we did everything correctly. I proceeded to ask Dixie if my friends name was on the paper she said “yes”. I then asked Dixie if she made a mistake. Dixie proceeded to laugh and mock me over the phone after I asked her a simple question. Dixie then proceeded to say in the camera it looks like we just walked by without filling anything out. I’ve never in my life had to deal with any source of racism until today. I’ve been very fortunate enough to not experience any discrimination. Today I was racially profiled by my own gym that I pay a membership too. I’m disappointed, hurt and traumatized from the way I was laughed, mocked and wrongfully accused.

Update 2022 - Since new membership, they have expanded significantly, got some great new machines, and the overall atmosphere here has improved 10 fold. Highly recommend this gym if you're looking to get started at the gym.

Original 2018 - Older machines and if you're new here you'll get the occasional glances from some of the members. The headphone jacks in the treadmills are flakey, but they do have a really good selection of all kinds of equipment.

I have visited many AF locations. This one was always top 2 best. Now with the expansion, it has edged into the top spot. Well equipped and spacious, if you want to get fit, this is the place. Clean, comfortable, safe atmosphere for all types of fitness endeavors. Strongest recommendation.

P.S. I'm not aware of any rules against grunting or sweating during workouts.)

The new owners are just making this place worse. I been coming here for over 2 years and never had a complaint. All he does is walk around and be nosy. He doesn’t want any kids in the gym. Went in to get membership renewed and knew the girl yoree who is running it now. She tells me they are drafting out of bank now. Been going there since a couple months after they first opened. Never once called by my name always sir. Told her I can't have it drafted out and was made to feel second class was told if the "coupons for payment wasn't good enough at any time they will contact me to cancel my membership ". I'm going to try it if I catch any grief from my money not being good enough I'll go somewhere else. This was my Christmas present to myself and now it doesn't feel like nothing
