Bought a class for my boyfriend and they put you to work! We tried the morning class which worked perfectly for our schedules. Sean and Tyson spent time showing the mechanics and technique along with some basic fundamentals. Can’t wait to come back for class!

Update 6/18/2025:
I’m 450 classes in, I come in 10 times a week, doubling up in the morning, doing conditioning with the coaches and other archetypes. This place changed my life, I’m in the best shape of my life, I feel healthier and stronger than ever. If you get the opportunity to try it out I really encourage you to keep coming, and if you want to feel like a professional fighter, check out the semi annual fight camp lead by Sean and the team. You get out what you put in. 🥊🤝🏼
Joined in August 2023, best decision I’ve made for my physical health and endurance training. The coaches, especially Sean, Tyson, Natalie and Tiger have been phenomenal. They pay a lot of attention to my form and adjusting me and teach me techniques to improve my boxing skills. I highly recommend Archetype Boxing Club whether you’re a beginner, amateur, or a professional boxer.

I've written this review 100 times in my head but how do you find the right words to describe something that has impacted your life so profoundly? I don't know that I can.
But what I can do is tell you that, before Archetype, I never had a place where I felt I belonged. As it turns out, this gym was my missing puzzle piece. Whether I’m there for a class with all of my favorite people or I have the place all to myself, being at Archetype feels like I'm home. When I walk through the door I become a superhero and when I leave I can't wait to come back. It’s one of the few places where I feel like I can be my most authentic self.
And then there’s Sean and Tyson. These two have taught me more about the power of discipline, dedication, and determination than I’ve learned over the course of my entire life. I remember when I first asked Tyson about “the secret” to getting fit. His response: “just keep coming back, Bubba, and we’ll take care of the rest.” And he was right. Sean took the time to help me understand the diet / nutritional aspects of fitness and Tyson found new ways daily to test my mental and physical toughness. It wasn’t easy, but it was SIMPLE. I just kept coming back.
Now, I’m in the best shape ever and I’ve never felt better. Because of Archetype, I’m a better husband, a better father, and a better human. Best of all, I finally have a place where I know I belong. I’ve found my tribe!

Was in town for a few days and wanted to get in a little training. Dropping into a new gym can be a little bit of an uncomfortable experience, but Tyson, Sara and the crew at Archetype were very welcoming. Brought a friend and we had a great class and I learned some helpful pointers for the speedbag.

Archetype Boxing is a wonderful place to work out and relieve stress. I’ll admit—I entered the place knowing nothing about boxing and just wanted to try something different. From the moment I walked through the doors, the coaches made me feel completely at ease. Sean, Tyson, Natalie, Sarah, Erica and the entire team go out of their way to check in, offer guidance, and ensure every session is both effective and enjoyable. Thank you, Archetype Boxing, for getting me off the couch and into the ring!

Been boxing at Archetype for 3 months now and the team here truly wants to see you grow and improve. They go out of their way to find the imperfections in your form and walk you through the proper steps to address them. They answer all my questions on technique and make the classes loads of fun. I’ve trained directly the most with Tyson, Sean and Natalie, and each one of them is a fantastic person with a motivating attitude that will keep you coming back. Great community, hard workouts, and spotless space if you’re looking for that too. Overall pure quality gym.

I was going to have ChatGPT right this review because I simply don't have the words to express how much I love this gym. But let me try. About a year ago, I decided to drop-in on a group class on a random Monday afternoon and from the moment I walked through the door, my life changed. I’m a Leo and this may sound dramatic but I am 100% serious. I was immediately surrounded by the most supportive and encouraging coaches (shout-out to Sean and Tyson) and the most welcoming members and students. It can be quite intimidating trying out a new gym, but it immediately felt like home. Not only that, but the workout is incredible and Sean and Tyson and the other coaches, are absolute pros at what they do, making you feel safe and comfortable while teaching and also keep you sweating, smiling and laughing along the way. A year later, I’m still hooked. I basically sleep with my gloves on. Come check it out and fall in love.

I had an incredible experience at Archetype Boxing as a beginner! From the moment I walked in, the vibe and decor of the space were so inviting—it immediately put me at ease. The class itself was so much fun, and I loved how each step was broken down clearly and tangibly, making it easy to build my skills and confidence. A huge shoutout to Tyson, who was an amazing instructor! He was incredibly helpful in making adjustments and reinforcing good movement, ensuring I got the most out of the session. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more classes. I highly recommend to anyone looking to start or improve their boxing skills!

Went to Archetype and did a beginners boxing class for the first time ever! I had never worn boxing gloves before or had my hands wrapped. It was an amazing, fun, and challenging experience. We worked with Tyson and he was great--very clear as an instructor, approachable, and fun. He was also having a fun time with us. I'll be coming back to doubt and bringing others with me too.

I’m on a personal journey to improve my life through fitness, nutrition, and personal growth. My nephew has been attending Archetype Boxing for a few months, and as a supportive uncle, I decided to join him for a few sessions. What started as a way to bond with family has now turned into my go-to outlet for cardio and boxing training.
Sean and Tyson have created an incredible space at Archetype Boxing. The level of guidance they provide surpasses most boutique gyms, and the blend of cardio and boxing is the perfect mix. Having worked out at Title Boxing in Chicago, I can confidently say that Archetype is leaps and bounds ahead—it's more exciting, and the level of education is top-notch! The coaches are genuinely invested in helping you grow and consistently take the time to provide personalized tips for improvement.
I'm thrilled with the progress I’ve made and genuinely look forward to my morning sessions. Each day brings something fresh, with new combinations, footwork drills, and a fun, engaging atmosphere. If you're looking for the best boxing classes in Austin, I highly recommend Archetype.
If you stop by, say hi—let’s put in the work together!

I’ve been at Archetype for about 2 months now. Having no boxing experience before attending my first class I can honestly say beginners aren’t just welcome at Archetype they are celebrated. Sean and Tyson are knowledgeable patient coaches who know how to cultivate progress no matter what your experience level may be.
They are both almost always there. You will almost always see Sean, Tyson, and Natalie when you attend a class, you will always see a familiar face. They are genuinely invested in helping everyone become the best version of themselves they can be. This really shows in the culture they have developed among their members. Everyone I have encountered while in class has always been patient and supportive, it’s a great group of people you’ll meet when you come to Archetype boxing.
Overall, Archetype is the type of gym where regardless of how tough the workout may be, when you leave you can’t wait to comeback for another round.

From the moment I stepped through Archetype's doors, I knew I'd found something special. The instructors are truly exceptional, with unmatched attention to form, technique, and individual progress. They cater to all skill levels, ensuring everyone maximizes their potential.
Archetype is more than great coaching – it's a community. The welcoming atmosphere is palpable, with a camaraderie among staff and fellow boxers that keeps you motivated and engaged. What truly impresses is the commitment to teaching real boxing skills. This isn't just cardio disguised as boxing; you learn authentic techniques and continually improve under expert guidance.
The flexible schedule and top-notch facility, complete with quality equipment, allow for consistent, focused training. But what truly sets Archetype apart is the passion of its owners and staff. They've created an environment where you're part of a boxing family, not just a member.
For anyone seeking to improve fitness, learn real boxing, or join a supportive community, I highly recommend Archetype Boxing Club. The impact on my fitness journey has been invaluable. Archetype has set the bar incredibly high for what a boxing gym can be.

I never write any reviews but I really wanted to take the time to say my thoughts. I started boxing just a few months ago but I have to say Archetype Boxing Club is my favorite place in the world.
On day one, I walked in nervously and scared to try a new sport but I instantly felt welcomed and in a safe environment. Not only did Sean, Natalie, and Tyson explain the basics but even the other people in the class helped me. That's when I felt there was a sense of community regardless of skill level. I left sweaty but felt accomplished. After that, I just had to keep going back.
I'd love to point out a coach and praise them by name but truly all of them are very encouraging. They give you great feedback to improve your technique and challenge yourself for the next time. The classes are about ~45 minutes but it is such a fun work out that time flies by. I am leaving the Austin area soon but they are already helping me find a new gym when I move on so I can continue my boxing journey.
If anyone wants to start boxing, please do it here. You won't regret it. :)

Worths every 30 min drive I make to this place from home. Sean and Tyson are the coolest coaches, they make every session an absolute blast! And the place itself is pure motivation: I walk out the door with a Jack Bauer confidence, ready to take on the world and keep it safe from all the bad stuff or like Dr. House unraveling a major health mystery (minus the limp). But feel free to think of a more relevant real life hero to better suit your preferences.
Anyway this place is not kidding around and it’s the perfect spot to invest in yourself.

Decided to give boxing a try, a sport I had never even entertained the idea of. Boy, am I glad I chose Archetype to try!
I was nervous as could be going into my first class, certainly not a boxer, and still hosting the 'new mommy' poundage and lethargy that comes with chasing children. I have never felt more accepted, included and physically challenged in any sport or fitness class I've taken on. They immediately opened their boxing doors and welcomed me into a fantastic community of all types of boxers and athletes.
This is not a place built on intimidation and peer cutthroat competition. Sean, Tyson, Natalie, Lauren and Tiger (the coaches!) have done a fantastic job in creating a gym that is inclusive, fun and a whole lot of hard work. You are going to get a good workout and you're very likely to laugh and make friends along the way. You can join at any level and there will be something for you at Archetype.
This boxing gym is AMAZING. Stop wavering and just come punch something ;) You won't regret the workout and community you get out of it!

Until now, I have been practicing boxing there for a half year, I love boxing so much since it gives me so many benefits like confidence, dare to challenges, good lifestyle and so on. Archetype is not just any boxing gym. Sean and team (Natalie, Tyson, Lauren, etc.) put care into ever detail, and the difference really shows in a million subtle ways.
You can see it in the way coaches instruct, providing guidance but never too much that it gets in the way. Coaches know how to give high quality guidance. Instead of negative low information guidance "you're doing it wrong, fix X," coaches give positive, high information guidance "you're crushing it, change X you'll be able to doge faster."
You can see it in the team composition. There's a high instructor:student ratio (depending on the class between 1:5 and 1:10) ensuring there's always someone around to guide if you need. It's usually the same people too, so always a familiar face. I deeply appreciate how patient and respectful all the coaches are to everyone, regardless of skill level.
You can see it in the diverse skill levels of folks who come to class. Beginners are welcome, supported and celebrated. There are classes for different skill levels (3 levels), giving each skill level something which pushes them.
You can see it in the way people interact with each other. I was pleasantly surprised by the high implied level of trust between folks.
You can see it on the smile on people's faces when they come and go.
There are business which target scale and value extraction over all else and there's business where the operators obsess over every detail, focus on creating value and care about making the lives of the people who they take money from better, this is the latter.
Sean, Natalie, Tyson, Lauren, Cory and everyone else involved here have created something magical, a place where people come and learn how to be better people, not just in the ring, not just at throwing punches.

I've been at Archetype for almost a month now, and I can confidently say I'll be staying around for a long time.
I went in with the 3 class pack -- because I had no experience with boxing outside of the comfort of my couch and Rocky movies, had no wraps or gloves, and honestly wanted to check out the vibe more in person. Everyone else said it was approachable for all skill levels, so I gave it a try.
Most of my time in the first three classes was with Sean, Tyson, and Natalie (you'll get to know all the coaches there if you come often enough). Sean: chill guy, gives actionable coaching on details you may be missing, and wants to help you get better. Tyson: friendly, big dude who looks intimidating at first but is a big goofball and will get you to push yourself hard. Natalie: energetic, provides great explanations of how to feel the correct form, and makes it fun.
The thing these three and the other coaches all have in common is: they are passionate, they are super willing to help you out from square 1, they know a ton about boxing (obviously) and they make being a part of and going here the (exhausting) highlight of my week.
I find myself as a result getting better, getting fitter, and getting more interested in boxing as a result. The thing with boxing: it's almost impossible to partway focus during your workout. You'll find your mind entirely empty except for "Shoot, my technique felt a little off there" or "Just one more combo...". Nothing better if you find yourself stressed out.
So if you're feeling tentative, I would strongly encourage you to give it a try! Hope to see you there 🙂

If you're looking for a fun way to exercise, I cannot recommend Archetype Boxing enough. The instructors are attentive and clearly dedicated to making sure you get the most of your time there. The classes are great for both newcomers to boxing and for seasoned pros alike. Most classes have no sparring if you're concerned about getting punched in the faced on the first day, but such things are available to more experienced boxers. All in all, I have quite enjoyed my time at Archetype and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

This gym has a uniquely warm and inviting atmosphere you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. From the moment you step in the door, you’ll feel like a part of the Archetype community. The programming is well-rounded, and the coaches are extremely attentive to form and technique. What keeps me coming back is the coach to student ratio. On a busy week night you can expect 3-4 coaches on the floor making sure your technique is *chefs kiss*
It’s also worth mentioning the coaches make me laugh and stop me mid-round to show me photos of their cats. And that’s just a regular Tuesday. So come for the boxing, but stay for the comedy, my friends

I have nothing but good things to say about Archetype Boxing! I took my first class about 6 months ago and have been loving this place ever since! The staff are incredible! Tyson, Sean, and Natalie do an amazing job coaching! I was always intrigued by boxing, but was too scared to try it. Last year, I finally took my first class and am so bummed I didn’t start sooner! Whether you have years of experience or have never thrown a punch in your life, these coaches will help you every step of the way. It can be intimidating walking into a new place for the first time, but Archetype does it right! And the people who attend classes are amazing too! I’ve truly never felt more welcomed in any other fitness gym or studio.
The classes are tough but fun! The 45 minutes fly by and I almost always wish I could stay longer.

Archetype boxing delivers excellence in all aspects. The facility is gorgeous, clean, and spacious. The showers and bathrooms are always maintained with the utmost attention, down to the hair ties and razors. Most of all, the people make this gym special. Sean, Tyson, Natalie, Cory, Lauren and Tiger all offer personalized coaching and ensure to give their attention to each person regardless of how busy the classes may be. Archetype is a place for experienced athletes as well as those who might be intimidated to walk in to a gym. Expect a spectacular workout and inclusive community.

Love this place. If you're new to boxing or have had some training and want to find a gym that can get you set with the fundamentals and into the ring then definitely give Archetype a try. Sean, Tyson, and Natalie are incredibly nice folks - they get to know you and your goals, and are there for every class so you have all the support you need along the way.
The experience each time is very consistent, and it has been so rewarding to really feel like I'm improving. Again - if you have any curiosity then give it a try. I've been to around 20 classes so far and have nothing but positive things to say about it.

I've been going to Archetype weekly for the past 8 months and cannot speak more highly of my experience! As someone not looking to train seriously in boxing (though there are plenty of people there who do) I still feel seen and supported in the classes. The coaches Sean, Tyson, and Natalie are all so kind and knowledgable... I'm learning a lot, but there is still space for lighthearted fun and humor. Plus, it's a really effective 45 minute workout. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in!

I never thought I'd wake up Saturday morning looking so forward to a very tough workout, but here I am. This place is the best! I walked in with no boxing experience, and within minutes I was engaged, learning, getting a great workout, and having fun. The coaches are very welcoming and teach anyone from a pure beginner to a serious boxer. The positive energy here is palpable--everyone is just there to box, learn, workout, and have a good time. I got so out of shape during Covid, and now I feel better than I have in years. I can't recommend it more.

Listen, not to be dramatic but in one month Archetype has dramatically changed my life in such a positive way.
Archetype allowed me to try something completely new and out of my comfort zone, and then with the help of their super patient, supportive, and friendly coaches I gained the confidence to continue going and learning about this awesome sport.
Definitely recommend to anyone from people who have never boxed before to the super experienced, you're in good hands with these coaches.
Archetype not only says they want to be a welcoming space where people want to come back, but they do exactly that, and they do it well! :) can't say enough good things.

This gym is fantastic, perfect for beginners wanting to build a good technical foundation for boxing while getting an incredible workout in. The class sizes ensure you're always able to get individualized coaching when you need it and the coaches are all so supportive, helpful, and just all around fantastic people.
The class will fly by and be over before you even realize it! You are able to train the drills at whatever pace is comfortable for you, whether it's on the bag, partner work, or on the speed bags/rhythm section. The entire gym community is wonderful and so supportive. I've gained so much confidence, strength, and technique over the last half a year as I've worked up to begin sparring, and I'm so excited for the years to come!
There are two bathrooms, one has a shower and a locker (but you bring your own towels) There's also a water fountain + water bottle fountain. The facilities are always very clean!

I live about 30 minutes from Archetype but still make the trip. I burn about 700 calories in 45 minutes when I am there + you receive professional level coaching. I absolutely love the club and the people there create a great community. Tyson, Sean, Natalie, and Lauren's coaching makes you a better boxer and they really emphasize the importance of fundamentals. 10/10 experience everytime... also there's a Chipotle nextdoor for a great post workout meal. Great gym in north Austin for all levels. I met Tyson and Sean when I was volunteering at a homeless shelter downtown. When I heard that they were offering their spare bedrooms to at-risk youth, I knew I had to meet them. After a lengthy discussion about the political and economic state of the world Tyson and Sean invited me to a boxing class free of charge. It was in that class that I fell in love with not only boxing, but the community of the Archetype gym. Since I started training at archetype I’ve become a 3-0 amateur boxer and hopefully a professional in the near future. Not only have the coaches at Archetype turned me into a promising young professional prospect, but they have made me into a hard-working young man ready to take on the world.

Joining Archetype Boxing 🥊 Club is, by far, the best decision I have made in recent memory. Having always been intrigued by boxing, I figured, “why not try knocking a bag around?”, but really didn’t expect much more than a solid physical workout. Wow, I was taken by surprise! The program run at Archetype is both physically, and mentally, challenging. The physical workout is fantastic and the mentally challenging aspect forces me to forget everything else except what I am doing at that moment in the gym — as an entrepreneur and engineer it forces me to use my brain in a totally different manner, which is rad, and provides a mental escape from the racing world around us.
Yet, this brain/body fitness isn’t the best part of Archetype. The trainers are absolutely incredible humans! The care and attention they provide while administering technically demanding instruction is amazing. They are approachable by anyone and everyone no matter skill, size, gender, etc. They greet people by their names from day one and have built a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Plus, they clearly spend time thoughtfully coordinating particular technical aspects of the sport for each week of sessions. No one session has been the same!

100 classes in. From thinking you know how to punch, to training your way up to sparring for the first time. This is the place you want to be. Invigorating combination of mental and physical exercise. I am convinced this is the best gym in Austin. Big thanks to Sean and my good friend Coach Tyson. These guys are the real deal, only limiting factor is you. Just don’t make fun of their fanny packs and they will take care of the rest. Top Notch boxing minus McConaughey!

Coaches were great, very friendly. It’s clear that they care for each person that walks through that door. My first time and I was greeted with smiles! From what I could tell, they care more about technique and foundational skills, which is the biggest bang for your buck. So it isn’t a “punch aimlessly at a bag without knowing what you’re doing til class is over”. You learn and push yourself and make every minute count. And they try to take every moment as a teaching opportunity. So if they see you doing something that could be better, they won’t hesitate to suggest how to improve it. Overall, they are great to work with and gives great criticism while also remaining positive. The system they have in place is very good, keeps you going. The environment is great! The place was squeaky clean!! Equipment looked clean and well maintained as well. Great gym all together.

I'm very impressed with Archetype Boxing Club! I had my first class last Friday and I took my oldest son with me. First time boxing for both of us. Was not sure what to expect, but these guys are on to something. They immediately welcomed us in and got us started. They explained the workout and started teaching us the fundamentals within minutes. Such a welcoming place, with friendly people who really know their craft, and the place has such a great vibe about it. Three coaches there the whole time and all 3 worked with us on different skills, which made the time fly by. My son and I both loved the workout and can't wait to get back there this Friday. Archetype Boxing Club has figured out the recipe for success and I'm sold!

This is the best boxing gym I’ve been to in Austin. I’ve tried like 8 and now drive way across town to get to this one because the quality of instruction is so good compared to the others. The others would just treat it like a fitness class and not teach technique or give feedback on how to improve form. Don’t bother trying the others. The instructors here are very friendly and approachable.

Archetype is a new hidden gem in the boxing community in Austin. This gym integrates knowledgeable and fun coaches with a truly unique class format. I've tried out many different boxing gyms in multiple cities/states and its always a mix of ... you walk in on your second day and is thrown into a sparring session orrrr... one coach yells instructions to a class of 30 people and then walks around as people do circuits. At Archetype, there are multiple coaches that focus on a specific part of the exercise wether its bag work or partner drills in the ring. Its like you're getting a semi private lesson regardless of how many people are in the class! The lessons, while following a certain theme, are also changed daily so regular members are constantly challenged with new techniques and combinations. I think this is a great workout for people with or without boxing experience. From the classes I have been able to attend so far It is the smallest things that make the biggest difference. The coaches remember your names, they ask about your hobbies, they care about your growth. The members don't have egos, they introduce themselves and help each other out. The facility is clean and well kept. Overall it has been a fantastic experience training here.

After getting jumped by a group of 7-9 year old Girl Scouts, I knew I needed to build my confidence and find a fitness outlet that would give me the tools to defend myself.
I gave Archetype a try, and I'm so glad I did. Natalie, Tyson, and Sean are all fantastic coaches. They make you feel welcomed immediately, they're exceptional teachers, and they're great people.
Every class is a great workout, and it's been awesome to learn something totally new to me. If you're thinking about trying out a class, you won't regret it. Don't worry about being a beginner, from day 1, the instruction is personalized and you learn at your own pace.
I can say with confidence that I'll be ready for the next troop of Girl Scouts that tries to rob me. Thank you, Archetype team!

The staff is attentive and gives clear feedback that focuses on building good habits and improving technique. In just a few months, I have obtained a solid boxing foundation that has helped me start sparring with confidence. That’s the key. Confidence. The community is optimized for each member to leave the gym with confidence in their body control, power, and movement. It starts with the wonderful coaches and percolates into the members. I have yet to meet an unfriendly face. It’s not just a workout; it’s a chance to learn a sport from caring people who really know what they’re doing.

I cannot express how much I love this place, the coaches, and the people who go to Archetype! Not only do you get a killer workout in, you build a foundational skill set, and best of all a community of great people! As a first time boxer- they really take the time to show you the ropes, like good form with punches, how you should move your body for each, and the technical skillset needed for combinations. Also, I love the way they teach the classes, honestly you will never get bored. Every class is unique with different combinations, skill levels, and options. Archetype is fantastic and my new favorite workout. It's as tough of a workout as you want to make it, which caters towards any fitness level and generally allows for modifications. The owner/instructors are all super knowledgeable, hands-on, and friendly, so fully feel free to walk in with zero experience and get plenty of help. That to say, if you have experience, they're powerhouses and will tweak you're already-rocking-style, no doubt. I find the entire atmosphere welcoming, fun, and empowering.
What to expect? The workout consists of a warmup with body movements, such as pushups, squats, lunges, jump rope, etc., and is followed by three rotations: heavy bag, speed bag, and partner work in the ring (no, you're not going to get punched in the face!)
The 45 minute class goes by really quickly. I'm always drenched in sweat; it's effective cardio that is actually fun/stress-relieving, powerful. It will leave you wondering how you ever did monotonous cardio machines.
Come for a drop-in class and you'll be hooked...ha!

Great new boxing gym in Austin! Even if you have never boxed before you will enjoy this gym and get a great workout. Boxing gyms and instructors can be intimidating to try but Archetype does a good job at structuring the class size and flow to all skill levels. They focus on technique but not so much so that it takes away from you getting a good workout in. The classes include a mix of heavy bag work, holding combos with a partner, speed bags, and body weight movements/abs. The instructors will also do private sessions for those who are interested in 1:1 work.
They have gloves there for members to use, as well as clean showers and bathrooms. The instructors clean everything thoroughly after every class. The owners also went all out designing this gym - I love the old school boxing posters as wall paper.
The owners, gym staff, and instructors are really what set this gym apart from the rest. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and all around good people! Go try a class and you will not regret it!

Brand new gym with top notch instructors. I used to train with Sean and Tyson in Santa Barbara so I'm thrilled that I have a real martial arts gym to go to when I visit Austin.
I absolutely love the retro vintage boxing decor as well. Everything is brand shiny new and so much passion went into starting this gym up. They cater to beginners as well, but what I love is that as someone who has trained in the martial arts for most of my adult life, I still get quality instruction from them. I have fun and am always learning so it's a no brainer.
Totally worth it!
FYI: It's so new that Google Maps isn't correct. It's actually right next to Chipotle.
