We celebrated my son’s 5th birthday at ASI Gymnastics yesterday and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well-organized and the staff went above and beyond to make the day special.
Coach Jacob and Coach Alexis were absolutely wonderful - so kind and attentive to all the kids. They made sure everyone had a blast while keeping everything running smoothly. You could tell they genuinely care about creating a memorable experience for families.
My son and all his friends had an amazing time, and as parents, we were able to relax and enjoy the celebration without any stress. The staff were very attentive and helpful with not only setting up the decor, but also serving food and keeping everyone entertained.

Usually there's no better place to birthday party, but this wasn't our favorite experience. This was a new set of coaches rather than the usual coaches that do birthdays and our kids' classes. Two were great despite being newer, but one didn't seem like a kid person. Venue was great and not crowded.

Our daughter loves her coaches as well as her gymnastics and ninja classes. She has been asking me to sign her up for tumbling but we’re on a waiting list due to her school schedule. Our daughter has been learning a lot of skills from her coaches and has been very focused and moving up levels fast. Coach Fitz is an amazing and kind, Ninja coach. He’s very patient and fun. Coach Alexis is also a favorite, she is very supportive, knowledgeable and also fun.

So coach Peter is the ONE you want to have help you break your caterpillars to butterflies.
I have personally seen him countless times ease these kids into their possibilities. Encourage them to the other side of fear all while guaranteeing their safety. When i say it feels like family here at Asi gymnastics, i truly mean it.

My daughter has been going to ASI for 4 years and we absolutely love it. 12/10 would recommend. Our personal favorite is coach Justine, but we have worked with many others (Coach Ryan, Peter, Fitz, Hakim, Kevin) and they have formed such a great bond with us every time we walk into the building.

We do both Ninja Kids and Girls Gymnastics and I have seen her strength and confidence just flourish. When my daughter struggles through a skill they are always patient with her, and encourage her positively.

Love the parents night out program once a month, she is begging to go every month. We have also attended CAMP at ASI during the summer and she is always excited to attend. If we miss a class and need to reschedule Coach Anna is always there at the front desk to help us out with a smile.

Our ASI party was an absolute blast! Coach Hakim brings SO MUCH energy and is amazing with the kids! We had kids aged 3-8 years old and everyone was able to participate and enjoy all activities. These parties are full service and allow for parents to relax and enjoy their guests. ASI is also unique in that each party is the only one in the gym. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing experience!! We have previously done birthdays/birthday parties where the parents have to do the entire party and this was just so helpful and nice to have two coaches to “put on the show” for the kiddos, as well as help with the party part!

My daughter was absolutely showered with attention and catered to during her party. Jeff as the lead coach and Chris as the assistant were just tremendous to work with and I couldn’t have asked for a better situation!

Our family loves ASI Lakewood! Coach Anna is always so communicative and fun loving with the kids. When I drop off on Friday nights, I always feel better knowing my kiddo is in her care. Horrible Service team. Its like y'all pick favorites and the team that is in charge of announcing the awards and shoutouts don’t have a thought behind those eyes. Four families bought flowers, necklaces, and shoutouts just for them to forget and not even announce them at the end. Anna went above and beyond for our family on our first day at ASI. She has shown the best customer care, goes the extra mile and does it all with a joyful demeanor. Coach Gary and Coach Geoff have both exemplified the best coaching around and work with children so well! The children each have something to do without downtime and they make it fun while learning. Signed my daughter up for classes but unfortunately our car was stolen so we had no transportation to get to classes. I called and emailed several times requesting a refund since we haven’t been to not one class only to be told corporate said no refund only credit for future use. I find that very unfair. I can see keeping the $30 non refundable fee but to keep all my money is unjustified. I wouldn’t recommend this place to an enemy let alone family or friends. The customer service was horrible they never emailed me back and the only time they actually contacted me was when the next payment didn’t go through when she was never able to make it to a single class to begin with.

My daughter’s been going to ASI since she was 3 years old and we have attended a TON of birthday parties here as well.

Will your child become an Olympian by practicing at ASI? Probably not. But if your goal is for your child to become a decent gymnast, then see below for the following pros and cons.

Things I like:
- unlimited class makeup policy; class makeups never expire and you don’t even have to tell them ahead when you’ll miss class. It’s also easy to schedule a makeup.
- it is a very hands off experience for a parent, both if your child is a student there or if they’re a birthday party guest. You can sit in the bleachers and just check out once you’re there.
- wide variety of coaches given how large the gymnastics studio is.
- you can see the entire gym from the bleachers.
- weather proof extracurricular activity
- management is great at addressing issues and concerns. Front desk is also very responsive and communicative.

Things I don’t love:
- parking can be annoying. The lot is always full and the spaces are tight.
- some of the coaches are totally checked out.
- it always feels like a zoo in there! Tons of families, like the entire family. I’ve even seen a mom just breastfeed without any covers on just walking around.

Coaches I recommend, that actually care to correct form or help develop your child:
- Coach Hakim (the absolute GOAT!!)
- Coach Justine
- Coach Kina

Coaches who are nice but I think are too hands off even after I’ve shared direct feedback (disappointing but hopefully this callout will help them improve):

I wish I could leave 0 stars for ASI Gymnastics in Lakewood. My almost 5-year-old daughter attended her first Bronze level class yesterday, and it was a terrible experience. At first, she was happy and participating, but when it came time to practice standing on her hands, she got scared and sat quietly on the floor, not causing any disruption. A staff member rudely shouted across the gym asking whose child she was. I went to speak to him, and he bluntly told me to take my daughter to sit on the bench since ‘she cannot be on the floor not participating.’ I asked if I really paid for her to sit on a bench, and his response was ‘yes, exactly.’ When I requested to speak to the manager, he insisted I take my daughter out.

During her class session, the coaches, instead of being encouraging and helping her, simply asked if she wanted to go next, and when she said no, they moved on to the next child. They made no effort to comfort or help her work through her fear. It’s understandable that kids might feel scared during their first class, but the coaches should be trained to provide emotional support and encouragement, not just bypass them. The gym was also overcrowded and chaotic.

Afterward, I spoke to the manager, and when I requested to get my daughter, I was told I couldn’t, but followed the manager anyway to ensure my daughter’s well-being. I felt uncomfortable with how everything was handled, especially considering my daughter is such a kind and quiet child. The staff’s behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. There are plenty of other gyms in the city that would treat kids with more care and respect. I highly recommend avoiding this place.

I am following up to get a refund and will never send my kids there again, even though it’s only 2 minutes away from my house. I’d rather drive 30 minutes to a location that treats my child with the respect and care she deserves.

We had my 4-year-old's birthday party here yesterday and the experience was nothing short of phenomenal. I'm that mom who's a little *extra* about special occasions, so we had lots of decor for the party room (including a balloon arch that wouldn't fit in the car assembled and had to be put back together when we arrived) and an extra activity for the kids after their gym time. Coaches Hakim, Matthew, and Adriel were absolutely 1000/10, from helping bring in totes and bags of balloons, to having the entire party set up in 15 minutes, to wrangling a rowdy dozen 4-7 year olds (plus four little siblings who couldn't help wanting to be a part of the action) for an hour and a half. All three of these coaches went above-and-beyond with kindness and patience, all with a smile on their faces. The entire party process - from booking to breakdown - was easy and low-stress, and we're so grateful to Hakim, Adriel, Matthew, and ASI Lakewood for helping make such great memories for our family!

We had the absolute best birthday ever at ASI for my 8 year old triplets. By far the cleanest, nicest facility we have rented and I honestly couldn't say enough about the staff. We had my daughter’s 3rd birthday party here and the staff and gym exceeded expectations!! The trainers were so sweet to the kids and made sure every minute was age friendly and fun. They made my girl feel so special with unique “birthday girl” games and even remembered every child’s name. We just celebrated my son's 5th birthday at the ASI - Lakewood location and I am still on CLOUD 9 with thanks to the DREAM TEAM: Peter, Olivia and Hakim. Those three KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! Not only did the birthday boy feel the love from these three, but his buddies (and their parents) in attendance where in awe with their energy. Had my daughter's 6th birthday party there this past Sunday and was extremely pleased with the entire experience. Hakim, Akin and the rest of their team were FANTASTIC! Hakim stole the show, he was THE BEST party leader we could have asked for. Our daughter was just laughing and having a blast the whole time and he made sure we got all the right picture and video moments. Can't way enough positive things. From setting everything up, keeping 25 kids entertained and energized non-stop, getting food handed out, cake ready for Happy Birthday and wrapping it all up at the end. They kept the party on schedule and handled everything so all we had to do was sit back, relax and take pictures. Great experience, will 100% do it again.

My son has started to enjoy coming to gymnastics and loves his instructor Devon. Devon seems to really get to know the kids in his class and makes it a fun experience.

However, we did a make up class this week that happened to be with a different instructor and it was just terrible. He didn’t give my son even one second of attention, call his name for his turn in line and did not allow him participate in the activities like the other girls in the class. It was so obvious that my 27 month old NOTICED and told our nanny at the end that he was “feeling very sad” that he was left out. One other parent noticed this as well and asked if my son was ok. I will avoid taking this instructors class in the future.

Everyone is always pleasant and they do whatever is necessary to make sure both kids and parents are satisfied. My daughter just started back again after a break during the pandemic. The coaches are so patient with her, and she has really increased in confidence (she is 3). She absolutely loves coming to gymnastics. Every coach she has had has been so great. It's age appropriate, good exercise, and teaches confidence and perseverance.

With the covid pandemic they have started to clean the equipment after every class. I would recommended everyone to try it out. We had our daughter's 3rd birthday here last weekend and it was a total blast! Alera and Jake were the party coaches and were fantastic with all the kids. They even loaded and unloaded the party supplies, gifts, etc from our car, helped decorate, cut and distributed the cake, and did all the clean-up! The kids were well cared for and the parents got to relax and chat. It was perfect!

Im a stay at home mom and I wanted my 2yr old to be involved in something where she could interact with other children her age. I couldn't have made a better choice. She gets so excited when we pull up to the building. She loves her coach and shes made new friends. The staff here is wonderful. If there was an option for zero stars, I would select it. My son had the worst first visit ever. They were selective on who they encouraged and he was left out. I will be speaking to the manager about who my son was mistreated by which was a male worker. He made fun of my son and was being sarcastic toward him because of his glasses. Do not pick this location unless you want heartache.

Our daughter has taken gymnastics at ASI Lake Highlands for over three years. I cannot say enough about the coaches at this location. Our sweet girl is shy and had a rough beginning in her life with a result of having PTSD. Without these coaches even knowing, they have drawn her out of her fear of people and she is even on the Level 1 team! Sometimes I just break down in tears when I see her out on the mat competing. For us, God sent us to this very special place with very special coaches to help our girl. This past year she had Alyssa and Lanie and they were amazing!! She has many others in the past, they are all wonderful. Thank you ASI Lake Highlands for not just caring about your enrollment but taking the time to make our daughter feel loved, accepted and brave :)

What started as a way to teach her to do a cartwheel on the playground, turned into a wonderful life experience and passion. Our daughter has had the opportunity to experience coaches who truly believe in her, encourage her and are hard on her when she needs it. Sila, Alyssa, Ryan, Dylan, Gary...they are all wonderful!! We highly recommend ASI Gymnastics!
