At Austin Women’s Boxing Club, you’ll build boxing skills, confidence, and community in classes run by an all female staff of USA Boxing Certified Coaches.
It’s the ideal mix: professional, knowledgeable, and authentic boxing training. It’s for those who want to learn real boxing (not the watered-down version you find in boxing franchises & chains) but want to learn in a respectful, safe, and clean environment.

There are days when life feels overwhelming but stepping into Austin Women’s Boxing Club is always the reset I need. The energy, the coaches and the women here remind me what I’m capable of. I’ve gained strength, skills, and most importantly confidence in myself. I love this place!!! I’ve been going to the beginner classes for about a month and I wish I lived closer so I could go more often! I’m super out of shape and I have never done anything like boxing before so I was a little nervous at first but everyone is so kind and welcoming. AWBC is the best gym I've ever had the pleasure of being a member at! The classes are challenging and rewarding and every instructor is incredibly knowledgable and supportive: striking the perfect balance between fun exercise and hard work. The people in my life are probably sick of hearing me talk about how much I love Austin Women’s Boxing Club — but I’ll never stop!!! It’s one of my favorite places to be.

I joined AWBC two years ago, looking for a new way to work out that didn’t feel like a chore. I found that, and so much more! Attending classes quickly became my favorite part of the day, and in the last couple years, I’ve hit fitness goals that have always felt out of reach.

But this gym became so much more than just a workout space. Boxing has been incredibly empowering for me. It helped me reconnect with my body in ways I didn’t think were possible anymore, finding joy and strength where I had felt disconnected for many years. For that alone, I’m endlessly grateful. A large part of that transformation is due to the amazing, supportive community here. The members and the coaches all love this space so much, and it shows in the magical energy you feel when you walk through the doors. I always leave in a better mood than I showed up with. I feel so lucky to have found a place filled with the coolest, kindest, most genuine, and fun people ever!

If you're looking for an inclusive gym with friendly coaches, engaging classes, and welcoming members, I can't recommend AWBC enough. And trust me, punching things is the MOST fun!

I joined Austin Women’s Boxing Club in December 2022 looking for a fun way to get into shape and to help me regain a sense of strength after a tumultuous year. What I found was so much more than a gym - Coach Julia has cultivated a wonderful community here. I quickly found myself signing up for 4-5 classes a week and looking forward to seeing familiar faces in the group. I even requested changes to my schedule at work to accommodate additional boxing classes. I love all of the coaches and each of their unique teaching styles. Their passion for the sport comes through in the attention to detail and sincere and individualized feedback they provide. I love coming here and interacting with absolutely anyone. i joined awbc in january of this year and it is one of the best decisions i could have done for my physical and mental health. this place is perfect for anyone whether you have a lot of experience or none at all, it tests everyone at their own level and you never have to feel like you aren’t keeping up. i had zero experience when i started and i felt very welcomed by the community. if you are thinking of coming to a beginner class this is your sign to go for it!

Austin Women’s Boxing Club is a life-changing, game-changing community.

I joined AWBC in April 2023, seven months postpartum and in the worst shape of my life. Hoping only for a high quality workout, I found that and so much more. The coaches are best in class. The community is unparalleled in terms of inclusivity, mutual support, and positivity. The boxing at AWBC is accessible to all levels of physical fitness and dedication, whether you’re a lifelong athlete hoping to compete or a mom trying to squeeze in a ferocious workout between life’s millions of myriad demands. In any class you can expect to find novices and experts, someone to learn from, someone who can learn from you. In my time here, I have reached personal fitness and boxing milestones previously unthinkable. I have healed my body and gained strength, skills, and discipline. I have found friends and mentors. I love AWBC! I’ve been coming here since May and am hooked. AWBC is super accessible for folks who are just wanting to get off the couch and in shape (me) while also offering high quality for those who are really into boxing. There’s a colored band system (kinda like karate) so you can set personal goals at your own pace. Also, not just boxing classes, but also strength, yoga, and various workshops like learning to do pushups, pull-ups, and general self-defense. Very welcoming and amazing community!

I've been going to this gym on and off for a few years now, and my love for this place has only grown! The format of this gym (and the coaches) will work for you no matter what you want to get out of it. Whether you want to focus on strength and fitness, building up cardio and endurance, or do real contact work, you can build your own path! Aside from the high quality USA Boxing coaching and the nationally ranked competition team, the camaraderie and sisterhood of this place is what makes it special. I have played women’s contact sports for many years, and the environment cultivated at AWBC is what makes it stand out above all other leagues. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was going to this gym. Boxing is one of the best sports for your mind and body, and at AWBC they make it so easy to get started. The coaches are so respectful, nice, and welcoming but they also encourage you to do the best you can. I’m 14 and I’ve been coming for about 10 months now (in June it’ll be a year) and I’ve made so much progress that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for AWBC. Coaches and members are really supportive of each other and accommodate different skill levels with a lot of attention and care. Absolutely love this place- it’s become a second home to me. The coaches here are amazing - not only do they push me to do my best and get me to do things I didn’t think I could but they are always so patient and really take the time to help me improve on my boxing and conditioning/weight lifting techniques while keeping things fun. I've been trying to come up with words to adequately describe the magic that is AWBC, but there simply aren't any.

I have never encountered a more diverse, inclusive, supportive group of people and I am so, so glad to have found this place! Working out has always been a foreign, sometimes scary concept to me, and I have always dropped in and out of random group fitness classes, struggling to find something that would stick. I took a chance on Austin Women's Boxing Club and I am so happy I did. I think I finally found my thing!

I love being a member of Austin Women’s Boxing Club. There are lots of classes throughout the week so it’s easy to fit into my schedule. All of the instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and badass! The classes are challenging, but welcome all fitness levels. They have a sparring class on Saturday mornings. It’s my favorite! When I first started I was really out of shape and the coaches were very helpful giving me modifications. I was new to Austin when I joined and have made a lot of friends here! One of my favorite things about the gym is they have tests throughout the year to earn color bands (similar to martial arts belts). When you first join you’re a white band. Last year I earned my yellow band which was a big accomplishment for me! Since joining I have lost 20 lbs (and counting.) I couldn’t even do a plank and now I can hold one for several minutes, do push-ups and dead hangs. I highly recommend joining this gym. It’s changed my life!

My favorite gym ever. Although I haven't been going as frequently as I would like due to my travel schedule, I always look forward to training whenever I'm back in town. The instructors and other members are always supportive. Not only have I learn a lot about boxing and strength building techniques, I also feel more confident and positive after every training session. I've been training since May 2022, the beginner's workshop did it for me, I wanted to add some more dynamics into my exercise routine, and boxing has not only helped me with shrinking my body but focus in a goal, while I can lift heavy weights, the skills to perform well in boxing are way too different and have proven a level of difficulty I was not expecting (damn jump rope :v). All the trainers are very knowledgeable and they spice up things with games, that also have a lesson, so you don't just shadow box. The students are all respectful and committed. Their website is good so you can manage your classes. I recently was surprised that trainers know everyone, so they can catch who signed up and missed the class. I recommend 100%.

You are also able to purchase hand wraps, T-shirts, gloves, etc, and in case you wonder this, of course I did! I love the T-shirt and the hoodie! The staff is incredible knowledgeable, each class is focused on different areas and goals and you will notice that the hour has gone like in a flash. Coach takes in any experience level and gives them a space to train at their own pace with plenty of variety in her classes. If you're looking for a community of strong women, there's supportive ladies at every age. I thought about going to a male-led boxing gym but am grateful I chose to train under Coach Julia. I admired the independent, no excuses approach with the option for more training if needed. If you want to put the work in and take your boxing training seriously, Coach Julia and her helpers set a great example. She's passionate and works hard to keep the gym open and flexible to your schedule. Since joining the service, AWBC is what I miss most of my daily routine.

Supportive Community of Amazingly Strong Women. I travel from North Austin to come here weekly. I really love the community aspect and the instructors I’ve worked with so far. The classes are always challenging (in a good way) and the instructors are constantly pushing you to do better and are non-judgemental. Same goes for the members. Whether your new or have been there for years everyone helps each other. I only joined last week but I know I’m going to be a long term member. Super happy to have found this place! 💜 For anyone interested in becoming a member I highly recommend taking the introductory class they offer before signing up.

I saw the full page story about this gym in the recent Community Impact. Run by women supporting women focusing on helping each of us to show up and be better, stronger, confident and skilled. I was embraced immediately when I joined the June Boxing Bootcamp. And once it was over, I had already signed up for the next one. I love the fact that this is a real boxing class--not some hipster version. Don't get me wrong--it's hard. It challenging. You have to be open to trying new things and willing to not be very good at first but the incremental progress and payoff has been rewarding, especially in a short amount of time. You show up, do your best and no one cares what level you are. They just want you to learn the real techniques and become a better athlete and person. All instructors have been great, knowledgeable, provide great constructive input while still supporting you where you are in that moment. I can't recommend this enough. Do it. You won't regret it. Finding a new gym to join can be intimidating and hard, but after I tried my first class, I was hooked (pun intended - you'll see). The environment is extremely friendly and honors self-growth - you're only competing against yourself and not others. The coaches are accommodating for all levels and interests, whether you want to go competitive or just work out cardio and strength. It's not a gym-club hybrid with dark mood lighting and heavy bass; it's a no-frills gym that keeps it clean and simple. I come back for 1) the kickass workouts, 2) the diverse, fun, and real people, and 3) the dad rock bops.

Love love love what these ladies are doing here. Last August I joined with no experience in boxing and was just looking for a new way to workout.
Everyone from the coaches to the other members are so encouraging and uplifting that I enjoy going to class and learning new skills. You can count on a good hard workout every time. I am so thankful that even during social distancing the coaches have continued to ensure we get to keep working out by offering various daily virtual classes that are just as fun and intense as our gym workouts. If you are on the fence about giving it a shot- I'd say go for it.

I joined this gym because I loathe "working out" but I love playing sports and avoiding men in gyms. Austin Boxing Babes is the perfect combination of those twin passions. Group classes are always fun, motivating, and challenging (but still accessible to people new to boxing / exercise). It was my first time in, first time being apart of any gym, with no prior boxing experience or knowledge. Usually I might be intimadated or self conscious that I dont know enough, but these ladies really make you feel apart of the team! I've been going to Austin Boxing Babes since February 2016, so about 7 months, and I have fallen in love with the gym, the coaches, the community, and the skill of boxing. A friend had told me about the gym, so I decided to sign up for the free trial class. I was welcomed by Julia as I walked in the door for the 6am class. After the first class I went ahead and signed up for a membership, because I was instantly hooked.

From there, my addiction to the gym has grown exponentially. I was a ritual 6am class attendee, and I began to form relationships with us "regulars". Each class we pushed each other to learn new skills, do one more push up, one more sit up, or execute a skill better. Not only did we push each other through the classes, but we also developed friendships with one another. I knew I would start my day at 6am, laughing with new friends, checking in with each other, and also getting a great workout during the class.

As I have had to transition to evening classes with my work schedule, the atmosphere is no different. Each class is unique in its own way, and I have developed new relationships with a new group of "regulars". One part I love about the evening classes, is the variety of skill level. Classes will include everyone from "first timers" to members that have been coming to the gym for years. Everyone at the gym is willing to help one another out, teach, and push one another to develop individually. I have learned just as much working with a beginner boxer as I have working with the advanced boxers, and the welcoming environment allows that learning setting.

I never would have guessed I would enjoy boxing as much as I do. It is more than just a workout, but also a way to build self-confidence, release stress, join a community, and overcome personal challenges.

I've always been the type hiding in the back of a full yoga class, so simply trying out ABB was a big challenge for me. After the first workout I realized two things: I was in much worse shape than I thought and if I wanted to improve this was the perfect gym for me.

ABB is the ideal combination of a challenging workout with a non-intimidating environment. The emphasis seems to be strength building and physical fitness, so I feel the practical application of the training in my everyday life. When the classes are small, it feels more like having a personal trainer because you get so much individualized attention.

The early morning classes are the perfect time and a great way to start the day. I am so happy to have found ABB.

This cadence reaches far beyond "the basics" of boxing that I learned from Julia and ABB, I carry them in my every day life. As a result, my confidence continues to grow (even during set-backs), and I have become more relaxed and focused.
The workouts are a continual challenge and are never the same on any given day. My instructor is an expert in her craft, so I KNOW I am learning from the best. With consistency, I have witnessed positive changes in myself (as well as others), both body and mind. I grow stronger, my reflexes-quickened, my endurance- expanded. I am more fit. I become the best of me.
I cannot say enough about this community of women that share the best of themselves in order to nurture and empower each woman to find what is extraordinary within her. This place is the best part of my day. I am confident that I am not the only one who feels this way.
If you are ready to apply the best in YOU, then I recommend ABB. They can help you reach your goals to be your best- and you get to learn how to box while you do it! How cool is THAT!?!? As with any fitness plan, YOU ultimately decide your own success. But, if you want or need that "push", then in my experience and opinion, this is the place to be.
