Me and my wife had an amazing time. It was my first time climbing here, and I am 334lbs. Joel and Jack worked hard to make sure I was able to climb and have my wife who is 130lbs belay. They have the perfect equipment to ensure my safety and hers. The customer service was great from top to bottom. Will be coming back and considering a membership with all they have to offer with so many classes and gym equipment. Highly recommend giving them a visit!

Wow. The Basin team is incredible — welcoming, knowledgeable, and ready to help. Shout out to Joel & Jack, who taught us how to belay using an ohm to offset a 200 lb weight difference! This is a place where all bodies and all climbers are welcome.

Fantastic place, quality staff and quality rock climbing facility. Kid friendly section gives a great place for them to learn the sport, and if you let them climb elsewhere in the facility with supervision the other climbers are super welcoming.
As far as cost, climbing at a quality gym is not cheap. With their summer promotion I was able to do a 3 month membership for the family, and now worked out a way to keep it going for the few who will utilize it at least a couple times a week. It’s about $165 a Month for an adult and 2 minors with gear rental, and includes some perks. They offer 10-punch passes for those who may not be coming as frequently. At the end of the day, it’s not crowded, it’s an excellent, engaging weather-proof workout, and they’ve worked hard to make a good atmosphere.

Love bouldering here. The routes are fun and there’s great variety in skill levels. It’s been a wonderful addition to Waco, and I feel indebted to the folks who took the risk to open it. I love that it never feels too crowded, but I also hope it gets lots of business because I want it to be around for many, many years to come!

Fantastic climbing gym - one of the top gyms I've visited across the country! The staff is super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. There is a great community vibe, with lots of ongoing social events. I also like the additional options for fitness in the weight room. We've brought lots of friends and family and they have really enjoyed their experience and want a repeat visit!

Started climbing not knowing if I’d enjoy it but after the first 1st day I was hooked. The routes never get boring because they get changed by the route setters quite often.

We took the kids and their cousins here to get a few hours of energy burned off. Very professional setting and all the workers were super helpful. That said, this isn't somewhere you can just let your kids run amuck, you need to monitor them and make sure not to bother the people getting an actual workout or climbing practice in. Definitely recommend it for an afternoon off something a little different though, or if you're into the sport.

So expensive, plus when I tried to bring a guest under my membership more than once they denied it. Completely ridiculous that it has to be a new person every time it doesnt even make sense

I love that Waco finally has a climbing gym. However, this gym is the most expensive climbing gym I’ve ever been to, while also being relatively small. If there were more routes or a larger bouldering section, the price might be worth it—but it’s not. If it were cheaper, or if it ever becomes reasonably priced, I will 100% sign up and update this review.

My family has been a few times & Basin never disappoints. The climbing is great but the cleanliness of the facility & staff are superb. They took the time to orient my youngest to the harness and were attentive & encouraging.

Tried out Basin for the day. Super fun! I’m a beginner climber and felt very welcomed right when I walked in. I didn’t think the prices were bad at all, especially for all day long. I absolutely loved the different skill levels and truly think it’s a place for everyone!

Staff was super friendly and helpful. I really appreciate their accommodations for us! It was super great to walk in right away and be greeted and pointed in the right direction.
The price was okay, not the worst I have seen. Although without equipment the price is just right.
Overall I was very impressed with everything. The sets were amazing. Sometimes colors were a little too close to each other, but sometimes it cannot be helped.
My reason for 4 stars is the auto belays were limited and close together.
This gym is great for all boulder climbers.
To me, the belay seems be a little more intermediate biased.
Overall amazing Gym.

We called last week and they told us they'd be open until 9 pm, but they closed at 2 and wasted our time. The time wasn't changed on their website or on Google maps

I've never seen such a wildly profit-hungry and user-unfriendly gym (which is insane, coming from a guy that's been to every climbing gym from Central Texas to Houston). Not only are the enrollment prices absolutely insane (again, how they're more expensive than KILLEEN climbing gyms, I have no idea), but canceling a membership is like pulling teeth with constant redirection and a refusal to communicate.
And to be honest, this wouldn't be a problem if the gym was well structured, but it isn't. Auto belays are so close together that a good solo climb is impossible, and most are crammed together in the inaccessible children's section (which are also crammed so close together, I don't see how it could possibly be safe for children - but the waivers they force you to sign will make sure that's never their problem). The entire upper section is dedicated to lackluster bouldering, making it a kiss of death for someone like me who just wants a good climb.
I was promptly kicked out of the building for committing the sin of wanting to watch my wife climb without paying for a wildly overpriced day pass (yeah, I was definitely going to climb without paying while wearing my button down shirt and jeans, right?), which has NEVER happened at literally every other gym I've been to.
All these 5 star reviews are also laughable, they're all from before the place even opened. Smells like paid Google reviews to me.
STAY AWAY if you're a beginner, and be wary if you're a parent wanting to take a kid for a climb. This place will bleed you dry for lackluster service, and make it almost impossible to stop the bleed with their wildly customer-hostile business model.

Our organization had a group climb with Basin, and we had an incredible experience! They were responsive, flexible, and planned a great introductory event for our members. This facility has high-quality climbing equipment and great bouldering routes. We hope to return in the future!

We held my daughter's 7th birthday party here and had an A+ experience. Matt (wow he is INCREDIBLE) took the time to help each child and adult (age 5-75) learn to climb safe, while having FUN and he alleviated climbing fears from a few young guests. He stayed with our party the entire time, too. I especially appreciated the ability to sync our music choices for her party and we were able to have the ENTIRE kids area to ourselves. We can't wait to go back! Basin is a great experience and Matt, we are so thankful to know you better and can't wait to climb again soon!

This gym was super fun, but the prices are insane. Not only is it costly to go at all but they even charge you to just freeze your account. It’s definitely the most expensive climbing gym I have ever been to. As soon as they drop their prices I would love to climb here again.

I've been waiting for a rock climbing gym close to Waco, and Basin Climbing and Fitness exceeded all my expectations!
The rock climbing layout is amazing, with routes that cater to all skill levels and are refreshed often to keep things exciting.
Plus, I love that they offer a full gym, workout classes, and yoga sessions—it's the perfect all-in-one fitness spot!
The staff is welcoming, and the community vibe is fantastic. If you're looking for a fun and friendly place to climb and work out, this is it! Highly recommend!

Now, I do understand that this place isn't open yet. And yes, I do know that the walls aren't fully constructed. But man, the top was way too easy. Right now, it's just a pipe. A pipe sticking out of cement. I think this place wants us climbing pipes. Ha. There are no pipes on everest. Idiots.
