Took the new instructor Alexa's class and it was a profound vinyasa experience. Great warm up, solid flow, and cool wind down to even out the class. I left feeling super energized and zen at the same time. Will definitely be returning to take her classes in the future. She has a couple unique pose offerings and transitions that I don't do often that get into all the nooks and crannies. Will be signing up for her class next week again!

Saw a first-timer get grilled by Lyrie about donating $15+ even tho class is donation-optional. She looked embarrassed and bounced. Not the inclusive vibe BSW talks about.

Cool studio and would like to go there more often but beware there is NO parking for this location. I hadn't been to this particular location in like a year so I decided to look up parking information in advanced and it said there was street parking and an adjacent lot under I-35... well there is maybe 1 block of street parking and all the other streets are residential permit. WHAT LOT under I-35? Maybe it once existed but it doesn't now. Wasted an hour driving there to drive around looking for non existent parking before giving up and going home. How do they have any attendance at this location? do they just get the local community that can walk there? do better, this isn't a public transportation city.

Tico and Vicki are apart of the Sunday afternoon flows (1:15/2:30pm). Some of the most sweet, caring and energetic flow instructors that you will get in Austin, Texas. S/o to both of them for helping me keep my positive energy throughout the week. I would highly recommend both instructors as well as this location to anyone near downtown and just visiting Austin.

All I have to say is … Ramona’s flow classes keep leveling up—each session is more energizing, challenging, and inspiring than the last. Come ready to sweat, stretch, and leave stronger. Don’t miss her next one!!!!

My first time at a black swan studio I was traveling from out of town! Everyone was super nice and welcoming! Class at 45 people in it, def get there 15 mins early to get in line so you can get a spot and settle in to a new space! It got sweat so bring a towel if you don’t have one you can get one for $3 ! Great experience will definitely come back when I’m back in area!

First class at the Cesar Chavez location. I did the 5:30 with Leslie from Alabama. She was amazing. She knew almost everyone's name. Highly recommend. I'm waaay out of practice and pretty sure I was the oldest on the floor. I felt included and welcomed and had a great time. Will definitely go back.

The teacher was amazing, the staff were friendly and helpful. I love the space! I am from Colorado so it was quite toasty inside for me but I was able to step right outside for air.

Black Swan Yoga has been my go-to for 10+ years! I once had an issue with trying to get into a class but I now recognize how important personal wellness is & why locked doors make for a mentally safe area for yoga go-ers.
EDIT: they did refund my pass and give me a freebie. I appreciate it! I also appreciate that BSY keeps the mental health & physical safety in mind.

Was traveling from Auckland to Dublin and a series of canceled flights and missed connections left me in Austin instead. Hadn't realized it was a Koha class and Matt was such a gem about the whole thing. Quickly handled the admin and intro and got me right into his class. I left grounded, open to the complete change of travel plans and calm. Hope to have time for another class with him before I head back to my island-such a rad human.

Black Swan is my favorite yoga studio in Austin. I definitely qualify as a beginner when it comes to yoga and I appreciate the fact that all of their classes are clearly explained when you're signing up so you know what you're getting yourself into. I typically opt for their flow classes, it's a good class for all levels and the instructors are always good at explaining the options for each pose when it comes to adjustments based on your desired level of difficulty. Note, this class is typically heated so get ready to sweat a lot but it's worth it for the great workout. Classes are "donation-based" with a $10 minimum. You can donate more or do a monthly unlimited pass as well.
The East location specifically has plenty of street parking and is easily accessible off of I-35. For Eastsiders, this should definitely be your go-to location.

On my out of town yoga tour, this place ranks super high. Unique vibe, great classes, super accessible and friendly. Really love their business model and message too. They came high recommended from an Austin local and I am paying it forward from an Austin visitor.

Wow! I could not be more enthused about this place. I had a class with Thor (Victoria) and she did such an excellent job at visually showing us what to do while verbally keeping the flow of the class fluid. The option to either get a membership, or simply take donation-based classes is so convenient, and even with a membership you don’t technically have to commit as you can cancel at any time. It is very reasonably priced, and I already signed up for unlimited classes. I felt so rejuvenated even just after one. Come take a class here, you will not be disappointed. Mats are available for buying or renting, there is a cold water fountain available and two gender neutral restrooms. It is conveniently located off of 35. My only complaint would be the parking situation as there are not many spots available behind the building, the rest is street parking only. Luckily I always arrive early enough to not have an issue. Go check it out!

I’m a member @ the a orchard location and have liked all my instructors so far. Todd’s classes are especially tough in a good way! :)
Note that they are strict about pausing memberships even for medical reasons, but the memberships do go month to month.

Locked out of 7:30 Friday class :(. I came here for the first time on my bike, second time ever. I've been to the orchard location several times and have never been locked out. I'm sorry I was late, but I would have entered as quietly and respectfully as possible. I got a little lost making my way by bike for the first time. If I had ever experienced this at a black swan yoga studio or known that this was their late policy I probably wouldn't have chanced the half hour by bike. It makes me sad to get locked out of a yoga class and ignored by the instructor who I know sees me in the windows. One reason that I have really like BSY in the past is that they have always made me feel welcome in the past even if I've been a little late sometimes. First class was great.

It's a nice studio however parking is definitely a big issue. They only have 4-5 parking spots in the back of their studio & it's extremely difficult to find parking in that area specially during weekdays. I wanted to take the 5:30pm class. I got there around 5:40 due to not being able to find parking. Girl at the receipten told me that class is full & I am late. I told her that I am late because I been looking for parking . She said that I should have come early. But I can't leave work early for going to Yoga class. It just doesn't worth dealing with traffic & parking to go this studio. They should be more accomidating .

This was my first time ever doing yoga. They lent me a yoga mat for free (even though its supposed to be $5) and were extremely nice. Being my first time, I literally had no idea what I was doing but the instructor (Ivy) was the perfect mix of telling you how to do things, but also letting you know everybody has their own way of doing the positions.
Never thought I would be a yoga person, but I definitely want to go back here.
Ps. It's not very apparent depending on where you look, but their classes are considered "hot" yoga. The room is hot and you will sweat a ton!

The latest yoga studio from Black Swan is now open in the East Side. This is a donation based yoga, suggested is between $10 and $15. Mats are available for $5 and are really high end. You pay before the class.
Ambiance is great with a wonderful sound system and color changing LEDs around the perimeter. Instruction was wonderful with a steady stream of helpful reminders on corrections and intentions.
It does get warm. I would suggest bringing a towel as I was drenched by the end. They also sell towels for $5 which I found out after the lesson.
They have cold water, bring a water bottle. You will need it.
No showers which I miss compared to ABP but most stand alone yoga studios don’t have them so it’s not worth docking points.
Parking is on the street or via small lot.
