That's good enough, but, the maintenance sucks. Chest Press has been broken for more than 2 months, and no one has come in fix it out. It seems to be working fine, but it is not. When you sit there, the handle that supposed to holds/brings you up the weight doest work at all.

Where do we begin? 1st a prerequisite for hiring staff should be that they are fit and in shape amd have a passion for fitness.. This place was FILTHY. Water and trash all over the men's restroom counter, it smelt disgusting, the gym itself was extremely dirty, the walls were filthy and needed to be painted, equipment needed servicing, there weren't enough weights for the barbell area, etc.

This place gets a negative star for lack of good equipment, lack of customer service and lack of informing customers of charges that will be applied to their account. Terrible gym I would not recommend to a friend.. Staff was rude and unpleasant. I asked for a tour of the of the facilities and they told me to just walk around. Me and my friend did until we were told to leave immediately. I have never been treated so rude in my life. The equipment is old and rusted. They dont have a pull up bar and the members are rude.

I mean it's $10 a month...the price is alot more attractive than 24 hour or LA fitness. Plus it doesn't get insanely packed during peak hours.

BUT THERES A CATCH!

The machiens (especially the treadmills) always break and are never repaired. It's been at least 4 months and the same machines are still inactive.
And it's true, they use tape to fix the leather material that rips off the weight machines.
.......Why even bother charging an ANNUAL FEE if they don't fix half of their broken machines?.......
The mirror has also been cracked for months and the floor has been getting really warped too.
Stuff breaks, it happens. But there shouldn't be an excuse why it'd stay broken for literally months.

That being said, the price is ok for what you get. The staff and employees leaves you alone (good or bad, take it as you may) and stay out of your way. They don't really organize the weights, but then again it's common courtesy for the users to put them back. It'd still be nice to walk and see all the dumbells racked and the plates stacked.

I'm only giving it two stars because for 10$ you can find other gyms that are more organized and have more variety in their equipment (Blast only has 1 squat rack!).
I've never met a Jackie or Patty but I hope they see my review and address my concerns about the machines.

My husband and I have been members since before Blast purchased this location. The new building has a lot of machines and free weights. Many of the machines have duplicates which is great. That way you don’t have to wait to use one of them. The cleaning ladies clean the area on a regular basis and if equipment gets broken it is tagged and fixed in a timely fashion. We have asked the manager for help several times and she has been very good about assisting us.

I attempted to cancel the personal training account due to not being able to physically attend. Due to being a truck driver the routes became heavier which increased my over the road time gone. Because I am physically unable to attend I spoke to my personal trainer, Steve, who had told me to bring in documentation stating that my hours have changed and that due to my work I need to cancel. I had brought the paperwork on May, 2nd 2017. When I gave it to Steve he stated that the paper was all he needed and everything would be cancelled from that point on. When I called back to speak to the manager, Norman, after I had been charged another 3 payments for the services he stated that there was never any paperwork turned in to him. I had even included a copy of texts between myself and Steve, stating that I am bringing in the paperwork and also the texts stating that it was supposed to be cancelled but was not, his reply was that he would speak to Norman about the problem. $450 dollars, and 7 weeks a later, I have finally cancelled the training. With absolutely no help from the trainer, Steve, the personal training manager, Norman, and the General manager, Jackie, who's latest response that she doesn't have to do anything about the situation since it's not her department. Please don't get caught up into this web of lies and games. It's not like the cancellation was from laziness, it was the physical incapabillity to attend. So if you want to know where you can throw away money into someone else's pockets than I definitely recommend this gym and group of people.

The gym itself is decent. The women's area is small and always packed after 5 PM. I really liked that they had babysitting but when I asked the employees to call me if my child had a poo diaper so that I could change her they did not listen. I thought maybe they she had just did it but the next time I took her the same thing happened. I don't take her anymore because I'm too worried about my child sitting in a dirty diaper to enjoy my workout. All these reviews about the customer service are on point. I'm hardly ever looked at let alone greeted, the employees do just stare at their phones and the only reason I'm still there is because I've already paid my annual maintenance fee. I'm sure management has seen these reviews and obviously they don't care about their business or their customers because the same staff is still there. Once February comes around I'm signing up somewhere else.

Worst policies, management, and service one can experience at a gym. Closed Sugar Land gym without notice, still demanded money, and refused to communicate. Below are the details:

I was member of Blast Fitness at the Sugar Land location. It was once owned by Bally Total Fitness. My membership was assumed under Blast. Sadly, after Blast bought this location, the cleanliness, qualitative service to guests, and attitude with the very guests took a deep downward tail spin. Employees played games, texted, and talked on their phones. I saw less and less people. Place became messy, bathrooms turned nasty,and weights were continually disorganized and out of place. I refrained from using their restrooms. I was already of the mindset that I was going to leave when I discovered, without any formal notice whatsoever, that the gym closed. I showed up early one morning to discover the place was totally empty with a large trash bin just outside of the gym. To be sure, I go to the gym almost every day. Part and parcel of the type of poor management and service I've received since this gym became Blast Fitness, I continued to be charged 16.23 to my account. So, the gym is closed down but I continued to billed for it for over three months. What's up with that? I contacted Blast corporate to ask what happened, what am I to do, where am I to go, and will I continue to be charged. I received no return email; no returned phone call. Three months passed and I received no reimbursement whatsoever. No notice. No notification. But I continued to be charged. So, I went to another Blast Fitness gym. I discovered that I need to fill out a cancellation form in order to cancel membership. It will take 30 days or so to be processed. I wrote in my letter that without prior notification that I believe I should be reimbursed. Meantime, I receive another billing statement in the mail. What happened? Instead of notifying me of the gym closure and the status of my policy, they automatically transferred my membership to the gym at the Clarewood location. No notification of transfer whatsoever. Still, I receive no call from the Blast Fitness corporate because I believe I need to be reimbursed for the past charges. See, Blast never gave us an option whether we want to continue our membership at a new location and left us in the dark about what to do when and after they closed. It is now February first and no response from corporate even though I contacted them on 30 September by phone call and email. My sincere recommendation is that you do not join this gym because they will take advantage of you without ever offering quality service, excellence in management, and sensitivity/care for their members. Their communication with you is horrible; exploitation is inevitable. Instead, you will discover, like I have, that there are a number of other gyms around Houston that qualitatively value their members and provide their very best in management. Currently I am a member of Fitness Connection and have found this place to be far superior to Blast Fitness in every possible way.
