Me and my wife are in town for an event and we're looking for a place to workout, so we chose Brickhouse. We WON'T make that mistake again. 1. $15 a piece for a day pass considering the equipment is a bit overpriced 2. The rudeness and lack of gym etiquette here is ZERO. You don't walk away from a station and come back 3-4 minutes later and try to claim you are using that station. If you want to strut around like a peacock that's fine go outside some of us are there to put in the work or tie 2 stations up and be several minutes between each station.

Great gym. Friendly employees. Weights and exercise equipment to meet anyone's needs. Love how light and bright it is due to the wall of windows overlooking the lake. Variety of ages here from young to 'old.' Nice and clean too!

I walked in to try the gym via a day pass. There was no one at the front desk when I came in to help get checked in. After waiting for a few minutes a guy came up to the front with a family that I assume was there for a gym tour. I told him I was not a member and wanted to buy a day pass and he told me their internet was out and that they were not selling day passes due to that. He then turned around and walked away leaving me standing there. I get it if the system is down and that is causing issues but that doesn't excuse poor customer service and barely acknowledging the existence of another person. I was hopeful this would be a promising prospect for a new membership being new to the area, but after this experience and looking at what I could see while waiting to be helped, I don't expect to invest my time and money here.

I've been consistently working out here for about 8 months, and it's great. Vibes are good, community is super cool-- it's definitely a no frills kind of gym, but that lends to its charm.
Lots of really huge dudes work out here and it really makes you want to work harder. The machines are sometimes contested during rush hour, but the members have great gym etiquette and don't loiter around taking up machines. It probably helps that the crowd here tends to be a bit older, and seem to have been in the gym awhile, which is gonna be tough to find elsewhere in Denton.

Walked in to try out the gym, since I just moved to Denton. Wasn’t greeted at the door for one. I let the kid know I’m new in town and the first thing he says so you wanna sign up like what. Terrible attitude, his name was Corbin. I proceeded to get a day pass. Turns out it’s not an actual day pass for 24 hours. It’s a pass for you to go in once and leave. Anyways I wasn’t offered a tour or anything. The kid was on his phone to top it off. Just over all bad experience. Gym is small and has no glute equipment for female bodybuilding competitors so stay out if that’s what you care about. Also the childcare looked haunted I wouldn’t leave my baby there.

Best gym, owner and staff around. We have been members for over 20 years. We love it. They have classes for those who like that, the cardio equipment area is great for all of your cardio needs. Free weights and other machines are great. The members are all friendly too, its like our gym family.

This is a warehouse gym. A lot of these other reviewers are holding this gym to a standard that it’s not trying to meet. The equipment is older but high quality and very well maintained. Outside of the college kids taking up equipment while pretending to lift, the vibes are great if you actually want to get strong. I highly recommend it if you are serious. If you want to come puddle around at a gym and use some fancy amenities go elsewhere.

Let's start with the good- it's clean, there are free towels and the equipment gives an old school gym vibe which I absolutely love. Let's finish with the bad- the obnoxious amount of tripods with cameras that are so abundant any time UNT is in session that I'm surprised they're not a fire hazard. I mean, I had to debate with myself if it's worth knocking off 2 or 3 stars for my official review, but having worked in the industry and witnessing the problem go from bad to worse during my membership, I'm going with 3.

I was visiting from out of town and was able to get a weekly pass for a very affordable price. This gym is amazing. Everyone was so nice and they have a wide range of equipment. They have a rack full of bands that have almost every thickness of band you could want. The equipment placement has a really nice flow to it, and everything I needed was easy to find. I will definitely come back here when I go back to visit my family. Thanks so much!!

I had several experience with rude members and the showers in the ladies locker looked like they never been cleaned. I just had enough. I canceled my membership. This gym is unpleasant .

This gym is the best I’ve ever been to. Staff is friendly. Place is always clean which is important in a gym. People of all ages come here. Very comfortable atmosphere. There is a giant window that looks over a pretty lake. If you want to get strong and have all the weights you need, this is the place for you. 💪🏻

Parking lot is so dark!!! Can barley see the lines to park and have to make sure to drop-off and pick-up my son from his karate class at the door so he doesn't have to walk through the lot!!

Got a membership and was told it was for a 3 month timespan and would automatically cancel thereafter, was charged for 12 months without my permission. Asked to cancel and they won't let me do it online, making me either come in in person (I moved across the country 9 months ago), or send a handwritten letter as if I'm some sort of Victorian poet.

Really good gym. not much to say, like the aerobics area, good place to stretch, sometimes crowded with the classes that they offer, especially around peak times. some of the equipment is older and you can tell, but overall great machines. the butterfly machine is good, but would love to see a better version, maybe with an option to incline or decline. only two areas for deadlifting so if those spots are taken you're stuck waiting in line unless you want to use a smith machine. people have always been extremely nice here and good customer service, and they keep the place very clean. would like to see this gym open later, if not 24/7. also on sundays they open really late, and close really early. had to pick up another memebership somewhere else just to accommodate my sleep schedule. they also offer child care, but ive yet to have to use it, but convenient nonetheless. overall a great gym thats really laid back and easy to get your workout in.

This gym is not for the faint hearted. If you require bright smiling people, brand new equipment, and are against people slamming weights then this isn’t the gym for you. On the other hand if you’re focused on achieving your physical goals this is the place to be. I see the same people every day killing it because this gym is where champs train period. I love the atmosphere and the “brotherhood” feel I get here. Everyone is there to achieve the same thing or similar goals as you.

By far the best gym in Denton! Free weights! Always a high energy class going on. Best equipment, and best variety of machines, and plenty of stations. Outdoor Lake track view! Friendly staff does not interfere. Plenty of trainers. Temperature is well regulated. A real gym.

They let me try out the facilities and work out free of charge as a guest, as I was in town visiting family. Needless to say, I definitely recommended them to my family! Love, love, love this gym. I've been doing drop in classes for the last few weeks for $5 each time and I Always feel as though I got more than my money's worth. Incredibly supportive instructors and members and the front desk people are So nice and welcoming too. Plus you don't bring anything but yourself. All equipment is there for you. I hated gyms til now because they intimidated me but I feel so comfortable and welcome here even with my flabby body and ugly gym clothes. Also check out $5 drop in martial arts classes for the kiddos. Affordable and super convenient with an extensive class schedule.

People complaining about the equipment being old... that’s the point. It’s an old school gym, a lot of these machines aren’t made anymore, and frankly the new versions aren’t as good. So it’s intentional, however the equipment receives maintainence and painting as needed so there really isn’t a problem with any equipment. Great gym, great family feel, and an amazing view.

I can't imagine a better gym. I'm overweight, and Brickhouse has a reputation for being serious. So I was more than a little intimidated by the idea of working out there.

As it turns out, I've rarely met a more supportive group of people in my life. Since I've been going for a while, I've started to get to know some of the regulars. Now I feel like I'm at Cheers when I arrive, because everyone says hi.

I'm working with trainer Mark Lewis there. After just 43 workouts, I'm seeing big results, too.

Love this gym. Very old school!! Love the machines they have. Been going on and off for years. It just feels like home. Comfortable environment and really nice people. Owner takes care of his people and actually cares about you and your business.
Extremely affordable price which includes childcare. Can’t really beat that. Lots of classes available too.

Great classes, great vibe, excellent staff and trainers. Been going there for 8 years now. Equipment (spin bikes, machines, cardio...) very dated and the staff does a good job of fixing them when they break; but the "band-aid" approach isn't always the best option and they could use a facelift. Also, the women's locker room has had a leaky faucet, tipsy commode for a while and well, it's just looking a little run down. I don't like posh/spa-like environment and prefer this style of family style/basic gym; but I do expect a clean, well maintained locker room with somewhat (not necessarily brand new) equipment.

The equipment is so out old that Arnold most likely used it.
All of the seats move and aren't steady on the machines.
The staff is on their phone the entire time. Don't even greet you at the door.
The only good part about this gym is that it's cheap and now I understand why it's so cheap. This gym is terrible.
As soon a my month of membership is up I'm moving to another gym. (I've only worked out here for a month.)

I am not a member at this gym...YET...only reason I because I still have a contract through someone else.

I went to this gym with a co-worker who has a membership and this place is freaking awesome. It has a mom-&-pop feel, yet modern. The staff is great and a great variety of equipment. And nowhere is Denton can you get view from the massive window wall than here at Brickhouse Gym.

I can't wait to become a member here in a couple of months.
