British Swim School offers swimming lessons for kids and adults of all ages, starting as early as 3 months. Located inside of LA Fitness, our swim school is open year-round, so you can learn to swim when youβre ready and continue until youβve mastered the skills. We use gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help swimmers of all levels become safer and more confident in the water. Our safe, fun, and effective teaching methods have made us the preferred choice for parents and students for over 40 years. Our confidence-building curriculum and small group swimming classes provide a consistent format and structure with one-on-one attention for each swimmer. Private swimming lessons are subject to availability.

Whatever I say isn't going to be enough.
Starting from Ms. Tonya answering every question patiently over the phone and helping with registration and scheduling.
Then Ms. Eva who coordinates the classes, ensures they start and end on time. The children safely reaching their designated spots. Also celebrating every birthday and milestone and promotion. She is amazing. My kids fondly call her the sticker and bell lady :)
Ms. Amanda - she is just absolutely outstanding. From being in the water with the kids and teaching them the right survival skills and techniques to swim to observing from outside while the new coaches take over. She not only is correcting form on the kids but observing them and letting her coaches know how they are doing and how they are helping the kids.
Mr. Mark, Ms. Rose, Ms. Donna - all are just wonderful, professional and kind coaches. They have the best interest of the children in their hearts. They genuinely want the kids to learn and excel. They are super encouraging and the kids are so excited when they do better and get a number. Each kids ability to swim is a reflection on their training.
Hats off to British swim school. I was referred by a friend here 2 years ago and never once have I doubted my decision. Initially I had my son only, now I have my daughter going here too.

British Swim School has been fantastic with my baby, we started when she was three months old and now she's none months. The teachers are patient, kind, informative and friendly. What I don't like is the pool seems to have to have constant temperature issues, which is not the swim school's fault but LA fitness, the British Swim School uses the pool of LA fitness in Round Rock.

I canβt say enough good stuff about this swim school! The teaching style and model is unmatched. I mean even the admin folks are so kind and supportive. My oldest daughter has been to two previous swim schools and this one is by far thee best. Her progress and development Iβve noticed is so much better. I feel that she is a way better confident swimmer. My five year old is also doing so well and she is so confident in water in such a short time. Thank you to the instructors for all your amazing guidance and patience. We are taking a break for the fall but we will be back in the spring!!

Ms. Courtney is one of the best instructors for children. All the staff and other coaches are really good too. We didn't have direct interactions with the others but you can see the care the swim school and coaches put in to provide personalized sessions to help kids learn to swim independently. Miss Tonya who takes the phone call always provides top notch customer service and no matter what day or time you call during the business operation hours.

Thank you Joe for making this right! Within a week of the incident, we were offered two more free lessons with wonderful coaches. I was even informed by their review and prevention process change, such as removing swim cap level marking. I'm feeling confident coming back again with my two boys especially if once again being able to be with those great coaches (Ms. Amanda, Emily & Henna) that I know.

I had the worst experience since my son was enrolled in May because of a teacher "Sierra". Close to the end of class, my son turned his head to ask me "no swim roll for me?" while Sierra was just walking back with floaties for playtime (She walked away halfway of the class because she wanted to notify another teacher a kid needs to be validated for promotion). I came forward to ask her "My son and other boy haven't practiced swim roll". She told me "We are running out of time and he(my son) hasn't been cooperative today". My observation for her claiming "not enough time" was - 1)Sierra took at least 5 min to look for a sharpy to mark levels on two advanced kids' swim caps. 2)Sierra took another 5 min to call and explain to another teacher to validate a kid for promotion. Sierra claimed my son not being cooperative just because he didn't want to wear goggles!!!!!!!! While she was "wasting time" for not teaching any lessons, kids were just sitting by the pool, shaking and feeling cold. Sierra obviously pays more attention to skilled kids and ignores those with slow progress. Sierra basically asked them to go from this end to the other without reminding their arm or leg movements. The whole time including playtime Sierra wasn't focused on her students but looked around just like waiting class to end soon. I'm very disappointed and never want to come back again just because of one irresponsible and discriminated teacher!

We have been with British Swim School for about six months now and couldn't be more impressed. We have had several different instructors which have all been very good and teach the same techniques, but in their own way. Good to hear it in different ways for a young learner. Plus, we have had to miss several classes due to travel, and were able to reschedule easily each time. Tonya who always answers the phone quickly and is so helpful in rescheduling and payments. Top notch bottom to top organization.

Students move up prematurely if you insist long enough, no one is red cross certified for lifeguarding or instructing. Aquatics Directors aren't the most competent employees, and the owner of this location(s) is arguably a senile old man. The interaction between him and some of the instructors that my husband observed while taking one of our children to a lesson was incredibly inappropriate, and led us to terminating the continuation of our classes since our child is a girl. They also continued to charge us when one of their pools was closed due to construction, and we were told after the pool reopened that it was our job to reschedule the classes at a different location that wasn't within our ability to reach due to schedule conflicts and personal reasons. Unprofessional and unreliable, don't bother.
***Also can we mention how unprofessional it is to publicize private information about a client's personal situation that impacted their experience. I've seldom found companies who would risk a lawsuit and disclose private information in an attempt to retaliate against negative reviews, and when I've seen that happen it's more often than not at the hands of business owners who are unaware of professional conduct***

I wish I could give this βswim schoolβ zero stars. Beware of Tonya and Joe they will try to bait and switch. They tried to charge a ridiculous amount of money for things you didnβt sign up for. Tonya would say one thing and do another. They will cancel classes and are unorganized. The ONLY good thing that came out of this were the extremely nice instructors!!!

My 6 year old and 3 year old did swim classes here and it felt like they weren't learning anything. There was so much focus on floating on your back EVERY session. It felt like they were trying to get more lessons out of parents without the kids advancing. Scheduling was a nightmare, and the instructors were infrequently the same. The most frustrating thing was that the school cancelled swim classes at least 2x and then refused to refund my money. They acted like they were doing me a favor to "allow" me to come for free at another time in about a month (which was then also cancelled by them). I would recommend a different place for swim lessons.
Note - The company has responded to this review below. However, we already contacted the company in September 2021 about the aforementioned issues and we were told that they absolutely would not refund our money even though they cancelled classes. Then they made it extremely difficult to schedule a make-up day. I have no desire to re-live that same discussion, so I am not reaching out to the business owner now.

Our daughter had taken swim lessons previously, but it seemed like after we would end for the summer she would forget everything she learned. With just ONE lesson at British Swim School she SWAM like she hadn't missed a beat. They didn't baby her. They said they knew she could do and to show them what she could do - and she literally just did it!! They teach the same strong fundamentals to all children/adults (safety/survival/swimming), but they adjust their style "just enough" to get the best out of their students. And then they reward the children with play time after they have worked on their skills. I highly recommend them!

I live this swim school! The owner is amazing and always listening and ready to help! The swim instructors are great. They use to have an amazing director, Stephanie, but she moved. Wish she would come backπ overall a great swim school!

Over all the experience was great. One grandson excelled, while the other one struggled with water safety and never mastered floating on his back. Scheduling was difficult and inconsistency with instructors occurred more than once. Best feature of British Swim School is that children don't get stuck in a class once they master skills at a particular level. They can move up at their own rate. Hope to continue lessons in the Spring.

The staff is nice and the location was convenient, unfortunately thatβs the only positive thing I experienced. My son was really excited about swim lessons. The first couple of times he looked forward to it, but then he quickly lost interest. They taught/did the same thing over and over and over and over and over. I get it, you definitely need repetition, but they literally did the same 2 things the entire duration of the lesson for every lesson. New kids would join every week so instead of moving forward with learning, they stalled so that the others could catch up. My son quickly got bored and in the end, he didnβt really learn anything. We will be looking for a different place this summer.
