Just finished my first boxing session here after trying a few others in Houston. By far the best gym in Houston! Im very new to boxing and the staff there were patient and knowledgeable focusing on form and technique. The membership are very affordable compared to any other gyms in Houston. Honestly very happy I discovered this place!

Great boxing fitness with amazing people! Once you practice and commit, you'll see progress and results. The class is a combination of boxing and variety of workouts that will make you sweat. Mike and his family are the trainers, and they exude motivating energy. They’re diligent about teaching proper form and incorporate mitt work in every class. Plus, it’s the most affordable fitness gym I’ve encountered given the quality. I highly recommend incorporating this workout and fitness gym into your routine!

If you are wanting to get into boxing THIS is the gym. Bull Rig is an inviting and encouraging atmosphere and extremely beginner friendly. The coach and his wife really take the time to get to know you and work with you to improve your skills. Picking up a new hobby or joining a new gym in general can be intimidating, but every one here made my first day of class SO welcoming and comfortable.

Mike is the Guy! He really try's to combine good solid workout with proper boxing techniques. It isnt the run of the mill "punch the bag fast and get a workout". He cares about doing it the right way!

Brought my 16yo grandson to take privates with Eddie Lacey as an introduction to the sport, and he really likes it!
Also, we signed him up for some work-out/boxing fitness classes. Met the owner and some of his family, and they seem like great folks.
It has been a great experience!

I couldn’t recommend this gym enough. I entered this gym with absolutely zero knowledge of boxing and was welcomed with open arms by the owner Mike and the other members of the gym.

Mike and other instructors have worked with me to help me build my knowledge from 0 and have helped me build my skillset quickly. The workouts are great and exercise the whole body—you’ll always leave the gym drenched in sweat and satisfied with the workout.

The workouts themselves are a combination of HIIT and boxing practice which gives you a great combo of real technique with the sport while also getting the perfect amount of cardo in.

The gym itself is spacious, updated, and always very clean. The equipment is in great shape and there are many options to chose from when it comes to weights and other tools used for HIIT workouts. Workouts are varied so you never get bored, but its always a challenge.

My time at the Bull Rig has been an overwhelmingly positive one, and I highly recommend anyone with an interest in boxing or just getting a good workout in to check it out!

I have been a member for 3 months and highly recommend the classes to anyone seeking a good workout! A regular session consists of HIIT workouts and mitt work. I guarantee you will see the results, but it will take dedication, practice, and persistence. The instructors provide immense guidance and patience when working with their students. They don't judge or ridicule anyone. They want you to learn and improve at every level. Overall, Bull Rig welcomes everyone from beginners to the most experienced. They truly treat you like family!

I've always had an interest in boxing, but didn't really want to full commitment. I'm really happy that Bull Rig added classes on ClassPass so that I could try it out. I high-key hope they stay on ClassPass so I can randomly drop in.

My friend and I signed up for a 5:30pm class on Monday December 12.

Since it was in an area I wasn't familiar with, I sort of got lost. I didn't get TOO lost since the GPS took me to the area and I saw someone in workout clothes get out of their car. So I figured I was in the right place. There's not much signage so thats what confused me. Thank goodness for driving slow.

They could tell I was new cause I was instantly greeted. Even though Michael (the owner) was busy putting the mitt straps on someone else, he still multitasked and asked how I was doing. Melvie (his wife) greeted me instantly. She helped me put on straps and asked a few questions to get to know me.

I really loved the class vibe. From experienced to beginners, the class is catered for everyone. There's a TV in the corner displaying the workouts. You get a detailed showing of the workout and then they start the timer so that you can follow the workout.

There's intervals where you take off your mitts and do HIIT workouts. You grab weights and follow the workout on the board. Everyone stops and does the workout together. Abs, weights, legs, arms...all of it.

I loved that they incorporated both upper body workouts and lower body. That includes boxing, stances, weights, and abs.

I loved that the trainers Melvie and Micheal came by to each person and gave them quick one-on-one during each set of workouts. You got a taste of one-on-one with the mitts and incorporating the workout displayed. They really know how to teach a class. They don't judge you. They'll work with you in correcting your form and guiding you.

Everyone was so nice and you really get a sweat going. Everyone was sweating. Not just me! I've never seen my friend sweat in other classes. So when I saw her sweat, I knew this was a good workout. Who knew my obliques would be on fire. My back was so sore the next day. (literally the next day as I'm writing this)

I don't want to fully commit to a membership so I really hope they stay on ClassPass. It's such a good deal and I'd drop in for a 50 min boxing session with other people.

I will definitely be back.

I went to my first boxing class (ever) tonight at Bull Rig Boxing Fitness. It was so satisfying to move my body in a way that I had never experienced before. The instructors were incredible and had great energy. They took the time to guide everyone in learning the proper moves and stances in order to maximize the power of the punch. I’ve never felt very confident in my ability to protect myself if someone wanted to fight me - but now I’m thinking that with enough boxing I could defeat any who wish to battle!! Thanks y’all.

Bull Rig Boxing Gym is awesome! If you are looking for a great place to workout… look no further! The atmosphere and the people are great. Mike is a great coach and makes sure you are doing things correctly to get the most out of your workout. We love that it is family friendly. Our 11 year old had a great time working out with us. As a bonus… they sell some delicious homemade juices that we LOVE to drink when class is done!

This is an excellent new boxing gym just north of downtown - super convenient for residents in the Greater Heights, Timbergrove/Lazybrook Oak Forest/Garden Oaks, Rice Military, etc.

Bull Rig is family-owned and the love they’ve put into it shows! The gym itself and the workouts are really well-thought-out… coaches are knowledgeable and helpful, multiple TV screens post the current activity and make it easy to keep up, there is plenty of high-quality equipment, everything is very clean, and classes are simple enough for a beginner to enjoy while still being challenging enough for more experienced attendees to get some good skills practice and a solid workout. The music was perfect - good variety and not too loud. Parking is ample and easy. Plus their fresh juices are a healthy post-workout treat! I’ve tried the green “Detox” blend and the beet one and both were delicious.

I had a lot of fun, and I definitely recommend that anyone interested in boxing or just looking to shake up their fitness routine come check it out.

Mike is such a great guy! I’ve known him for years and when I heard he was opening his own gym I knew I had to stop in. Coming from a taekwondo background and trying this class was killer! I did a 1 on 1 mitt work with Mike and what a rush! Can’t wait to do more. Then on his opening day I did the H.I.T class. Such a good work out and probably the best H.I.T I’ve ever done! You will be sweating and working out everything! Y’all won’t regret a workout here!
