This is my favoite workout experience at a gym ever. The owner, Crystal is amazing and the coaches are all top notch. I have lost weight and built muscle and feel part of an amazing community. Crystal keeps it fun and engaging with challenges and parties. I always look forwrd to going to the gym!

UPDATE: I’ve been at Chalk for 3 years now and still love the gym, the trainers and the program that keeps challenging me to get stronger and reach new goals. There is also an emphasis on building community with socials and fun parties after challenges. Highly recommend you check this out!
Post pandemic, I was ready to get back into a gym - but what I got when I joined CHALK was so much more.
Let’s start with Crystal and her team of trainers. They are all top notch professionals - they lead the small group classes with expertise, humor, attention and motivation. And they foster a sense of community and camaraderie that makes you want to show up. They also give you one coach to be your personal accountability coach - so you have specific goals to work towards that are personalized to YOU.
Secondly, the community of people are supportive and fun. This isn’t a competitive atmosphere - it’s encouraging. Everyone wants to see you succeed and get to your goals.
Lastly, the flexibility in class times and offerings makes it easy to find a class that works with your schedule - it’s easy to schedule using Mind Body app. And you feel like you get what you’re paying for in the monthly membership fee - very reasonable considering the personal attention you get.

I’ve been with Chalk since 2018 and it’s simply amazing all around. I very quickly lost weight, went from 33% body fat to 16%, and have gained muscle mass. I somehow can do 10 chin ups and have progressed and lift heavy in all my other movements. The owner and coaches are amazing - they help with form, accountability, nutrition, and push you while being mindful of any injuries you may be working through. It’s also super efficient and flexible as a working mom - 45 min classes 3x week is all you need for great results!

I am so lucky to have been introduced to Chalk by a friend last year, because it has changed what the last several months have looked like for me. Before, I’d never felt comfortable with strength training and did not do it because of this. Chalk has offered me a safe, comfortable place to learn and has challenged me to try new things. Now, I can feel myself growing stronger and more confident in what I am able to do with every class. I’ve been going to Chalk training for almost 2 years, and I absolutely love it! . The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and patient, which makes every class both challenging and enjoyable. The small class sizes create a sense of community, making it easy to connect with others and stay motivated. As a physical Therapist, I could not recommend Chalk training highly enough for an exercise class/training.
I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome from the owner (Crystal) the moment I walked into the door. The class is very well run with thorough programming (including the warmup) and the environment is fantastic! Everyone was very friendly and encouraging throughout the workout in a genuine manner.
The workouts are well designed and there are options given based on your experience with weight training.
I wanted to give a shout out to Shayne, she was amazing with clear instructions, welcoming, and gave great feedback to everyone in the class in a friendly way and brought a lot of personality to the class.
Overall, cannot recommend highly enough and would highly recommend people of all fitness levels to join these classes!

Just a kind warning: This Gym causes an addiction 😊 After 2 years of some short term other gym memberships in Austin and my own efforts trying to walk, go kick boxing, bike riding, playing tennis occasionally I realized nothing works if it is not consistent. I started Chalk almost a year ago with their 6 weeks challenge thinking once I get the habit of exercising and eating healthy, drop 10-12 pounds, I can continue on my own as I will know better what I need to do. And in only 6 weeks (which was the most difficult time of the year including Christmas and New Year holidays) I did dropped, % 4.9 body fat % , 9.6 pounds weight and gained muscle weight. I was able fit into my favorite dresses again. But I couldn’t leave, because I realized it is not just about losing weight. Chalk is everything you need to stay healthy and fit, feel happy with yourself thanks to their all in one programs, accountability, nutrition and exercising. And even more with fun challenges, weekend workouts, friendships and perfect coaching. Crystal knows what she is doing and coaches Mary, Andreas, Hannah, Richie, Ashton are great! I am so happy to be part of this great group.

The work and energy Crystal and her team put into everything that is Chalk is positive, motivating, and most importantly inclusive. It is a very small gym , which I love! Crystal mindfully chooses people whose coaching styles make me feel safe and comfortable in such an intimate setting.
I choose to train in order to manage my mental health, not to get skinny or fit into a bikini (although toned muscles and extra energy are side effects of working out with Chalk) 😄.
I never feel pressured to try a gimmick or quick fix diet. All of the extra educational materials and nutritional guidance Crystal offers is something she has thoughtfully considered and researched.
I feel fortunate to be part of such a healthy and conscious workout community!

I’ve been a member at Chalk for 6 months. In that time, I’ve lost 13 pounds, gained almost 6 lbs of muscle, and shaved more than 8% off my body fat percentage. It’s been a significant and yet sustainable transformation. I’m thrilled. Finally I’m getting the results I’ve been looking for for years!
The numbers are exciting and encouraging to see, but there is a lot more to it than that for me. Being a member at Chalk, I’ve gained the consistency and commitment it takes to see these kind of results. Since the beginning I have looked forward to my workout every day. I love coming in and sweating and improving my skills. It’s the best part of my day. Its a quick but effective 45 minutes of structured and focused programming that incorporates progressive overload for gains, mobility training for range of motion, and some cardio for conditioning.
I feel stronger, more agile and flexible, and overall better in my body than I have in a very long time.
The other huge component of my results is of course nutrition! I did not know how to eat properly to achieve my goals before joining Chalk. With guidance from the coaches, I now have locked in my personal nutrition plan that has become easy to maintain. This is huge for me, because I’ve always struggled with food. Finally I feel comfortable and confident in making food choices that help me reach my goals.
I chose to join Chalk because I felt aimless at the gym. I knew I needed guidance and structure not only in my workouts but with my nutrition in order to reach my goals. I also wanted to make sure I was lifting with the correct technique and getting the direct and immediate feedback has been a game-changer. I will always be grateful for this training because the movement skills learned here I’ll have forever.
What I didn’t expect but have come to appreciate very much, is the community aspect to Chalk. I love the bonds built between people who do hard things together every day! Community workouts, outdoor boot camps, social events, group challenges have all been so fun and rewarding to be a part of. It’s so much easier to be consistent with the accountability of real people on your team.
Chalk has given me the gift of falling in love with lifting. Joining this gym has been the best thing I have done for my physical and mental health in years. I can’t recommend it enough.

I am no stranger to the fitness community. I did step classes back in the 80s, strength training classes in college, was a collegiate athlete, taught indoor cycling classes and did some of the newer group fitness class (think run, row, lift). Nothing has given me the results like CHALK Training. The coaches are so knowledgeable and the program really works to make you stronger. At my age, I just want to maintain muscle mass (gets so much harder as we get older) and CHALK has not only helped me maintain but also gain. And the best part of it all is the community. Such a great group in the classes. Cannot recommend highly enough. 10 out of 10!!

Chalk is more than just a gym; it's a welcoming community of like-minded individuals who are committed to showing up for themselves every day, no matter how they feel. As someone who has worked with numerous groups and personal trainers in the past, I had a clear idea of what I was looking for, and Chalk has exceeded my expectations in every way.
The coaches are incredibly supportive and know how to motivate you to push beyond your personal goals, even when you've fallen down. The small group setting is inclusive and welcoming to all, regardless of where you are in your fitness journey. I appreciate the support and encouragement I receive from the community during our 45-minute workouts.
For me, fitness is about creating a long-lasting lifestyle change, not just a quick fix. That's why I'm grateful to have found a gym home in Chalk. Every time I step foot in the gym, I'm reminded that I'm showing up for myself, with the added bonus of being supported by an amazing group of people. Plus, the social events organized by the gym have helped me form lasting friendships beyond the workout room.

Accountability Meeting. The subject line in your email inbox. A quick glance to the sender and you breath a sigh of relief…its your Chalk Coach requesting a time to meet. Time for your monthly check in.
Together, you look at your Body composition: Body Weight, Body Fat Percentage and Muscle Mass. Only in the world of weight lifters is an increase in Body Weigh to be celebrated! But its ok. You might weigh a little more, but its good pounds. Pounds that make you look and feel stronger. Pounds that mean the early morning workouts are paying off. Then a chance to ask questions and get feedback while setting new goals.
The Accountability Meeting is just one part of what makes Chalk special. Each day, the coach leads a small group of folks thru a new workout. Before each set, the coach gives a quick demonstration of technique and form and then its your turn. While you lift, jump, or stretch the coach moves thru the gym giving each person a pointer on their form, suggesting a change in weight, or giving encouragement. And then its on to the next set. The whole workout flies by.
There is a nice online app where you can preview workouts and log your results afterwards. The app includes links to quick videos where the lifts are demonstrated by a real person, not some superhero body.
I guess that’s it: Chalk is for real people, wanting to begin or extend a routine, and who are open to learning. And who knows, you might achieve a superhero body or maybe just become more comfortable in your own skin.

Before joining CHALK, I struggled to find a workout routine that I could really stick to. As someone with a physical disability and not much prior workout experience, I am always nervous about going to a new fitness studio. I decided to give CHALK a try, however, after meeting with the owner Crystal. From that first meeting, it was clear Crystal and the rest of the CHALK team were truly interested in helping me achieve my individual goals. Unlike other places, weight loss wasn’t the goal, strength was. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with each coach. Each one works with me to adjust the workout to my ability without ever making me feel left out or incapable of achieving something. Everyone who attends CHALK classes have also greatly added to my positive experience. Everyone is friendly, encouraging, and open to having a good time while working hard. Even when I think I want to quit, everything about CHALK makes me come back. Finally after searching for a workout routine that works, I have been able to stick to strength training for almost an entire year. So big shout out to CHALK for always helping me in this process.

Lisa and I have loved our Chalk experience. We have gotten expert coaching that has helped us take our appropriate next steps - meeting us at our abilities and injuries - always with an eye towards our real potential. Carefully developed training plans paired with healthy nutrition coaching has given us a doable and sustainable means of leaning into health at this stage of our lives. And it is fun!
And the results are unmistakable. In just six months I am stronger and leaner than I have been in a couple of decades. I have gotten more than I hoped for. But, I did not anticipate the progress in flexibility, balance and joint health. I can do things now that I would never have imagined a while ago - and we anticipate more progress in the incremental growth and continued learning. Again, Chalk has given us an expert plan, kind and focussed coaching that is sustainable for the long haul.

I joined Chalk Training for the six week challenge and am continuing on for 12 more weeks. Once the 12 weeks are up, I plan to continue on with a long term membership.
I love each of the trainers here! They push you to work hard each day. I can honestly say this gym has changed my view of working out and living healthy. Seeing my results week by week has been incredibly motivating and life changing.
Each class is up to a max of 8 people (sometimes even just 2 people) and is focused on strength training and incorporates conditioning at the end. The program changes each month so you are never bored and you’re always making progress!
I have never before been so committed to exercise and a healthy lifestyle. I have been meeting my goals and keep pushing myself to be better. I highly recommend this gym to others. You will not regret it!

CHALK is not just a gym. It is a support system! I have found other gyms to be intimidating and other members at gyms to seem competitive or hierarchical. NOT SO at CHALK. The workout at Chalk is quite unique. I have tried many of the big commercial gyms but never got into any rythm. However with Chalk, the workouts are so unique that even if you have a break, you can jump right back in and feel like you have had a great workout! It is amazing how Crystal and her staff does it, but each time i have felt very satisfied. Even in the days of COVID, when they had to move to zoom for a while, it was VERY fruitful! I highly recommend their program

This gym is an amazing place to go for whatever your goals are, from losing weight to bulking up, this is the place to be. Every coach is supportive and attentive so that you can do the workouts properly and without injury. I highly reccomend this place even if you're just starting on your fitness journey. This facility is fine. I feel that I became stronger from doing the weightlifting routines here. I noticed an increase in power, but not so much in endurance when I went back to doing my regular workouts. I prefer longer workouts personally. I likely won't go back, but I appreciate the 6 week challenge for what it was. I feel that I picked up some good exercises from the program. The class sizes were appropriate.

Chalk Training has totally transformed my life. This gym is really the whole package. I’ve struggled my health for a while. I have an autoimmune disease that makes it difficult to lose weight. Crystal was able to lead me in the right direction with my diet and it’s changed every aspect of my life and mindset. I really had no idea the amount of resources there were for an autoimmunity diet. So far I’ve lost 20 lbs since starting at the gym. I feel better than ever and I honestly think I could take on anything. The community is awesome. Totally come as you are and non-judgmental. Chalk has turned my fitness around. I was a college level athlete that had a severe injury 5 years ago and I let myself fall off the wagon. In the past 6 weeks since joining Chalk I’ve lost two pant sizes, roughly 15lbs and have a new sense of confidence and strength! All fitness levels are welcome and supported. The diet program that is given is very straight forward and you don’t feel restricted at all. I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself of food, and I’m not constantly craving sugar like I was before. The small group sizes are great. The other members are supportive and the trainers have a strong focus on form and injury prevention. Lastly, I love the lack of mirrors. I’m always super self conscious of my form/ trying to watch other people, and this format makes you focus on your own body movement and not feel like others are watching you.

Things I love: small group, clean fitness room, trainers could help everyone. People around you are friendly. 6 weeks challenge every weeks only require you to come 3 times, for beginners are very friendly to start to build a better life.
They more focus on weights training, not cardio, good for people who wants build their muscles. If you like cardio more, then maybe this is not matching.
Cons : those issues I list only for me. This is a small local company, only has one location, so if you don’t work near or live close, it’s hard to catch up the schedule. The reason I joined the program cuz I got a summer job on the bee cave area, but after summer. It’s gonna be very hard to keep going there. I personally don’t want to spend too much time on driving.
Because the owner idea is doing a small group to help people who want to change their lifestyle, so the price is little bit higher than regular group training. But Definitely cheaper than private training lesson.
Overall I liked very much so far. Hope they can have more locations in the future.

I did the 6 week challenge with Crystal, Stephanie, and Tom. They were all incredibly pleasant to work with and very knowledgable. The meal plan was a little daunting but overall I saw a tremendous amount of success in putting on muscle with this program. I would recommend taking this challenge if you are looking for a way to examine your life. If bad eating habits and drinking alcohol are holding you back from being a healthier happier you, then this is a great way to begin a new self-loving mindset.

The trainers are top notch and will motivate you every time you come to the gym. I love that the classes are small (no more than 8 people) so it doesn’t feel overwhelming when you are training! Proudly finished up my 6-week challenge! The team at Chalk was everything you would hope they would be. They thoroughly explained the program, provided expert nutrition advice and were always motivating in the classes. While the space is not huge, they keep the classes to a manageable size (6-8 people) and the instructors push you to use good form and maximize your time. I chose the 3lb of muscle mass challenge and met my goal by working out 3 times per week and staying (relatively) tight to the hi protein diet. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and most importantly see results!

Before joining Chalk Training I was never consistent with a workout routine and I most certainly did not enjoy it when I made the rare appearance at the gym or class. That’s a thing of the past! I joined Chalk Training through the 6-week challenge. It was a challenging but rewarding program that really helped me jump start into a healthier lifestyle. What I like about this gym is that you are working out in a small group of anywhere from 4 to max 8 people. You get the kind of attention you would get in a personal training setting without the awkwardness of someone watching your every move. The community keeps it fun and interesting - and makes you feel challenged! They also focus a lot on mobility, good form, and taking care of yourself in general. Highly recommend this gym!

I just finished my 6-week challenge at Chalk Training! Crystal, Tom, and Stephanie surpassed all my expectations. They are extremely supportive trainers who will go above and beyond for their clients. I absolutely loved the small group training too. I was genuinely excited to work out in the Chalk Training gym. The positive atmosphere is infectious. My original goal was to gain 2 lbs muscle mass. To my surprise, I was able to surpass that goal quickly while also losing 3% body fat. Chalk Training is a locally owned gym off of 360 and Bee Cave.. They hold small class/group work outs. When I started the 6 week challenge with them, everyone had their own work out plan, so it was a bit chaotic. In the last two weeks they decided to implement the same workout plan, split into 2 levels for everyone which made things more fluid. The workouts are very easy and you really have to challenge yourself with heavier weights if you want to get anything out of it.
I would highly recommend Chalk for anyone who is just getting started, or is not self-motivated, for those who enjoy working out in groups, and for those that like uncomplicated, easy to accomplish workouts. They also provide a nutrition guide and support for those who need help making better food choices. This includes shopping lists, and how-tos, as well as support from the staff.
It is a fun environment with upbeat people and good energy! I believe there is also a facebook group for added community support for those that need it. Stephanie was my favorite trainer to work with; join one of her classes if you can!

Crystal & Tom are wonderful! I completed a 6 week challenge with Chalk Training and had amazing results with Crystal’s nutritional guidance and Tom’s workout regiment! My goal was to gain 2lbs of muscle and I was able to lose body fat and gain muscle simultaneously, surpassing my goal for sure! Hey everyone,
I just completed my Chalk Training 6-week Challenge and cannot tell you all what an amazing experience this has been! It has really changed so much about the way I approach not only my workouts and diet, but my overall lifestyle!
My goal was to gain at least 3lbs of muscle mass. I gained 4.5lbs of muscle mass and managed to decrease my body fat percentage from 15.8% to 11.8%. This was beyond my expectations.
I have worked out for so long and thought I knew what I was doing. Getting the personalized training of the coaches here allowed me to tweak and correct many of the movements I thought I was doing correctly. It’s amazing how much better they work when you’re doing them right! 😉
The diet planning and continued adjusting of it to reach my goals was the biggest change for me. I always worked out, so I could eat what I want. Again, this was not realizing the benefits of actually eating well and working out. Mind blowing!! Thank you guys so much!
Crystal, Tom, and Stephanie have all been so supportive and available! Even working with many clients at once, they were able to make each of us feel special and like we were getting that personal attention! This gym and these people are the real deal! Chalk is a great gym/fitness program for literally ANYONE at ANY stage of fitness (age, gender, weight or otherwise). These trainers are highly professional, personable, and fun to workout with :). The small group setting is an excellent motivator, but also comforting. You get personalized training/nutritional plans for your specific body type and food restrictions (vegan & vegetarians included!), but without feeling like you have an authoritative figure watching your every move. They have a great balance of personalization (trainer & nutritionist) and gym community feel. You won't find all of that for anything cheaper than what they offer. Totally worth it-- 10/10 would recommend!

Crystal challenged me to lose 5% body fat in six weeks. I succeeded in dropping from 27.1% to 21.5% body fat in five weeks. It really shows on my before and after pictures. The coaches Tom, Stephanie, and Crystal are motivating and fun. I like their attention to detail. I found the nutrition guidance a great motivator. My New Year's resolution to get more fit and healthy is being realized thanks to Chalk Training! This group is amazing! The work outs are hard, but not impossible. No matter how many people come to a class (I've had classes of just me and up to 8), the instructors keep a watchful eye and manage to coach everyone as needed. They also help with setting goals, and provide advice on how to reach them, then make sure that you actually do reach your goals. Cannot recommend them enough, you should definitely check them out!!!!

What a wonderful little gym with a huge heart 💜 Crystal, Tom, and Stephanie are the coolest trainers ever. They make working out fun by always wearing a smile, pumping awesome jams, asking how you are doing, and they pay such close attention to your movements to make sure your body positioning is on point. I felt extremely cared for, and effortlessly pushed to keep surprising myself with the capabilities of my body. I struggled with the diet because I travel for my job which makes mealtimes tough. No fault of Chalk. The diet was easy, simple, and the Facebook group makes it fun to see what everyone else is doing. The trainers think of everything you might need to be helped with and are super prepared, professional, and positive! 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for fun workouts, a great community, and accountability!

I did the 6 week challenge with Chalk. Below is my review for the challenge and the facility. Please read entire review before deciding to move forward with Chalk or not.
Recommend doing the 6 week challenge? No.
Why?: Their In Body Scan. (what they use to measure your body weight)
Recommend their facility? Depends. Please read entire review.
I did the lose 5% body fat in 6 week challenge. My first weigh in, I weighed 173lbs. Body fat % was 28.5% and muscle mass was 70lbs.
Throughout the 6 weeks I definitely got stronger. I was able to do 3 pull ups (woo!) , when I wasn’t able to do any prior to the challenge. My endurance and strength had definitely increased. I was very diligent with the diet and didn’t miss a workout.
The day of my final weigh in, I weighed myself at my gyms In-body scan (the same scan Chalk uses).
My results were 163lbs, 21.1% body fat, and 74lbs of muscle mass.
I drove straight from the gym to my final weigh in and the Chalk scan measured me as 163lbs (same) but 25.5% body fat and 69lbs of muscle mass. Somehow I had GAINED 4% body fat in 30 minutes and lost muscle mass. What baffles me the most is that it measured that I LOST muscle mass throughout the 6 weeks which even the trainers agreed was untrue.
For more clarification, if you lost 5% body fat throughout these 6 weeks, you get your money ($600) back that you put in to the challenge. I feel as if I was straight up gypped. There is no way I lost muscle mass throughout that time. The numbers don’t add up and it makes me lose all trust with their facility.
The trainers made excuses on the machine on how it depends on how much water you drank and other variables. However, they were not interested in having another weigh in to where the numbers made sense.
I am happy with my results and Chalk helped a lot, but I DO NOT TRUST THEM due to their final weigh in and how they handled it. I will not return.
If you demand a more competitive workout environment while having a trainer, I recommend Orange Theory Fitness more.
In conclusion:
Pros: small classes, more attention (depends on what time of the day you go)
Pros: easy to follow meal plan if you do the challenge
Cons: in body machine
Cons: no shower

I took on the 6 week challenge at Chalk at the start of the new year to get ready for my wedding! It has always been difficult for me to stick with workout and nutrition plans, but I LOVED this challenge. This is the first time I’ve ever been excited to a) Wake up early and b) Go to the gym. From the start, Crystal explained how the program worked, set goals with me, and taught a class on nutrition that made the plan make sense. When you understand the why it’s a lot easier to stick to the meal plan. The environment at Chalk is great! The intimidation factor doesn’t exist at Chalk because the coaches are very welcoming and spend time with you to make sure you understand how to do each exercise. I finished the challenge just in time for my wedding dress fitting, and I couldn’t be more excited! Thank you to Stephanie, Tom, and Crystal for helping me surpass my goals!

I completed Chalk’s 6 week challenge and am so happy with how the whole process went. The classes are small so coaches are able to coach you individually on form throughout your workout or give you a modified version for you to work up. The community is great and not intimidating.
My favorite thing was receiving a grocery list and meal plan since this is an area I’ve always struggled with (not knowing what to eat & when).

I just completed the 6 week challenge and am so impressed by this place! I usually have a hard time losing weight but in 6 weeks I lost 6.7% body fat and gained 4lbs of muscle! Wow. Crystal gives a meal plan based on your body and it is something that is a long term lifestyle instead of a diet that only lasts so long. She focuses on eating clean and hitting your macros. Well it works!!! And on top of that Tom gives you a workout plan that is amazing. Mine had hardly any cardio in it and that’s just what my body needed- heavy lifting to gain muscle. Tom is very knowledgeable and helped me with my form which is so beneficial to have. And also helped me with my lifelong goal of doing pull ups. Now I can do 4!! Just finished the 6 week challenge and I'm super happy with the results. The big thing was the nutrition - not always knowing what was the best "clean eating" for me - they broke it down and made it extremely easy to follow, complete with recipes to keep variety in your meals. Let’s just say that it is worth every penny, time, and energy. I did the six weeks training program and lost 10Ib with a total of 5.3% body fat. The diet was not as bad as I first thought, which helped with making it life changing. Everyone is friendly and although it might be group training, the amount of one on one you get anytime you need help makes it feel as if you have a personal trainer.

I just finished the 6-Week Challenge. At my weigh-out, Crystal started to say some version of: “you can either end the challenge here, or keep going”. I don’t think I let her finish the statement. I was in.
Here’s the thing: I am the definition of a middle-aged woman who has spent most of her adult life complacent about her physical health. What I was looking for was a jumpstart and that’s exactly what I feel Chalk Training (and Crystal, Tom, and the rest of the coaching team) have given me.
At Chalk Training here’s what you get:
- Education about food and when to eat what kinds of food: I’m a pretty healthy eater… it was portions and simple carbs that kill me. If it tastes good, I’m like a puppy… I’ll keep going. But the food plan made me rethink some things about food and the portions made it clear that there was plenty to eat and that timing matters (breakfast – So. Full. Post. Breakfast).
- Small classes – this is important for a couple reasons: 1) you make an appointment to show up. It’s not just “go to the gym”; you have a spot in a session that if you don’t show up (I assume) you get a text saying: “WTH? Where are you?” I love this. I only wish they had Friday PM classes… but I guess the Team needs days off too. ☺ 2) There is always a coach there to provide guidance, correction, support, and encouragement. If you’re lucky there’s also times when the other coaches stop by with their dogs and you get to play with them when you’re done with your workout.
- The People - no joke: The Chalk Team are all incredibly friendly and supportive. The other people working out are at different levels and have different goals, but they are all really positive and working to be the best versions of themselves that they can.
From a business perspective, you have to admire the model; it’s smart. They built programs that allow you to prove to yourself whether you’re committed or not. And that’s not going to be everyone. But if you’re looking to commit to being a healthier version of yourself, this would be a great place to get that jumpstart and build fitness into your life.

I'll be the first to admit that when I signed up for Chalk Training's six week challenge, I was a bit skeptical.
I looked at the "strict" nutritional guidelines and was unsure if I would be able to make it the full six weeks without cheating.
Between the private Facebook group with the other challengers, Tom's incredible knowledge behind each and every workout, the motivating play lists at each session... Chalk Training is definitely a unique fitness experience that I would recommend to anyone.
Despite a few nutritional slip-ups, I am so proud to say that I lost 10 pounds during my six week challenge. On top of that, I was able to see significant improvements in the weight I was lifting by the end of the challenging which was just the cherry on top. Chalk definitely has an approach to fitness unlike any other fitness experience I have had before that truly works for everyone and every body type. The individualized training programs literally make this a place for anyone no matter their fitness goals

Chalk Training had been on my radar of gyms that I wanted to learn more about for a few months but I was going somewhere else at the time. An opportunity arose to make a switch and I am glad that I did. I participated in a six-week bulking/muscle gain challenge. I'm pleased to say that I hit my goal!
The gym owners and trainers are great and have built a community that is fun to be apart of and motivating to see everyone's progress. The gym is small but the equipment is top notch and there is enough variety in everyone's workout plans to accommodate the group. The personal training style approach with the maximum group size of 8 is something that was really important to me to ensure proper form and movement in my exercises. I am grateful for the attention to detail and the quality of service Chalk provides.
Classes are 45 minutes long and are stacked back-to-back. This makes it easy to squeeze into your schedule since there are more class offerings. It also pushes you to not be lackadaisical during your time at the gym. While the timing has benefits, it also has its drawbacks if you want more time in the gym.
Overall, each gym has its pros and cons but regardless of what you are looking for, give them a chance and see how they can help you achieve your goals!

I heard about Chalk on a Facebook ad offering a 6 week fitness challenge. I was very intrigued and decided to look into it more. Crystal was very responsive and answered all the questions I had. Before I began the challenge, I was set up with a personalized meal plan (with SO many options) and workout plan for each week. The classes are small with only up to 8 people and scheduling each session is super easy and very flexible.
I had not exercised in years and was honestly quite scared of gyms because I always felt lost and uncomfortable. That was never the case at Chalk! When I did not understand an exercise or was confused about anything, Tom was always there to guide me step by step and offer encouragement. I did classes at various times throughout my 6 weeks, classes were always fun even if I went at 6 in the morning or 6 at night.
At the end of my 6 week challenge, I lost 21 pounds! I have not felt this good in years. I am now one step closer to my 100 pound weight loss goal and I don't think I could have done it without the help of Tom and Crystal!

Crystal and Tom Bold are fantastic personal trainers. I did their 6-week challenge and was surprised by how well it went. The challenge included 3 personalized workouts/week at the gym and a nutrition guide - high protein, low carb and low fat (high veggie though!).
Diet: I am a runner, so going low carb wasn’t something I ever would have tried otherwise, but I found that I was indeed less hungry despite a calorie deficit. (Still had sugar cravings but that may be a personal flaw)
Workouts: Every group workout started with some dynamic stretching then moved into personalized workouts. I really enjoyed the variety of workouts and being able to track my progress on the app. Not only that, but I could see improvements in my weekly runs too! All those squats, deadlifts, and half Turkish get ups were paying off! Crystal and Tom were always super friendly and helpful in demonstrating the exercises and checking in, modifying exercises as needed.

Crystal and Tom at Chalk Training are a Bold tag team duo. I took up their challenge as a way to break up the unhealthy habit of sitting in front of my computer screen for 7 hours straight. I saw they were conveniently 5 mins away in the Westlake area with touted 45 min workouts (perfect lunchtime workout).
From the initial goal discovery meeting to the end of the challenge I received a personalized plan of how to eat to reach my weight/body comp target(s) and actual tailored workouts to obtain some of my other goals: mobility in my hips and obtaining a pull up.
Tom and Crystal have great knowledge on nutrition and movement and make a great team to help you reach your goals.
My Results in 6 wks... 15lbs and 3% BF lost. I obtained my first unassisted pull up and I have gained knowledge and movements to help me obtain better hip stability in going forward.

I hadn't worked out consistently in 3 years and really hadn't felt like myself in as long. I am not a work out on my own kind of person so everything I had tried was a big failure. I first heard of Chalk from a few friends. They’d talk about their progress and tell me I needed to sign up. Being that I was a regular at Gold’s, I didn’t see the point. I liked my routine and didn’t want to step out of my element; I thought what I was doing was plenty. Eventually, I caved and attended a class; my whole perspective changed. To be honest, one of my main hang ups was, since I was new to this type of workout, I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of strangers. I quickly found out that would not be the case at Chalk. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by not only the coaches, Crystal and Tom, but almost more importantly, the community. Everyone in the class was friendly and supportive. As I’d be struggling to finish a set, I’d be driven by their extra encouragement – something you can’t appreciate until you experience it. Encouragement and community is what sets Chalk apart. I’ve been a member for 9+ months now and continue to grow there. Each quarter the coaches outline a specific program the gym will follow; each day of the week will be something different. Typically the next week or the week after, the program will then, in some form, repeat so you can see your progress relative to the first week. Sounds confusing, but it’s great. Additionally, prior to each quarter you will meet with your coach, take measurements, set goals and discuss what you might like added to your individual programming (at the end of each class you have a workout plan that’s tailored to your goals). During this time you can also discuss any other questions you might have such as diet, injuries, etc. Both Crystal and Tom are extremely knowledgeable in their fields and fun to be around. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who’s interested in making life changes or just trying something new.
As a side note, I’m 32 years old and have had serious acid reflux for 18+ years and have taken Prilosec or similar forms of acid reducers for as many years. At one point, I was told by another Chalk member, Crystal could fix that. I simply smiled and nodded as I’ve heard that before… Sure she can, I thought, if a doctor can’t fix this then how is my trainer going to??? Months later, I finally decided to meet with Crystal and test the hype. It’s one month later now, and I haven’t used an acid reducer or antacid since I started following Crystal’s recommendation. This BLEW MY MIND. I thought I’d be taking Prilosec for the rest of my life. These coaches can change your life; all you have to do is buy in.

I joined Chalk over a year ago and have really enjoyed the small group classes along with the individual training that is available to the members. Quarterly check-ins are available and recommended to all members and allow for goal setting and accountability to help with any physical and nutritional needs of members. To start, I would recommend Chalk Training to anyone and everyone. I made a decision to make a change 2 months before 40 years old. I had never worked out. I was nervous to go to gyms and not know correct movements, etc. I was immediately met with an interview where we discussed fitness history, goals, etc. The trainers, Tom and Crystal, were very supportive and focused on getting movements and positioning correct (which is continuously being corrected/improved). I watch as new clients come in and they give that attention to each person. The group trainings are supportive and affordable. The formula of small group sessions allow for personal attention, support from those at all different levels, and makes having a trainer very affordable.
Love this place and the owner/trainers.
