Chris Ownbey’s Golf Fitness is a private golf-specific training studio in Carrollton, Texas, serving golfers from Dallas, Plano, Castle Hills, Argyle , frisco and Allen. Led by Chris Ownbey, a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor with over 30 years of experience, the program focuses on increasing flexibility, balance, and speed and power for Adult and Jr golfers. Our TPI golf fitness assessments identify physical limitations that affect your golf swing, and our proven training system improves balance, mobility, speed, and strength so you can play pain-free longer.

I want to thank Chris Ownbey for all the help he’s given me—not just in improving my golf swing, but in getting me to a much better place physically overall. More importantly, he’s shown me how to exercise and strengthen my body in a way that has improved my swing mechanics, increased my distance, and helped me stay strong and active as I get older.

Chris has really helped me with my golf game since I started with him this year. I had surgery on my left knee a year ago and had trouble getting to my left side like I use too when I swing a golf club. After working with Chris and his knowledge of the human body. My ability to get to my left side and crush my driver has improved. It's a work in progress but I like the results so far. I highly recommend Chris.

Chris is beyond amazing. I'm a newbee to golf but been fairly athletic most of my life. I really appreciate Chris' approach to focus on ensuring your fitness for golf as a primary focus, then we work the golf game. We not only work the golf game through technique but also evaluation through the technology to really see the swing mechanics in great detail. I can't say enough good things about Chris. Because of Covid, I had not been in the gym for awhile. Chris’ 10 week course not only got me back on track but he customized my workout for the golf goals that I have. Not only am I in shape physically but, my golf swing is feeling more consistent and stronger through impact. If you want to get in shape and work on your game at the same time. Chris is your guy!

Six months ago, I started working with Chris. I am a female in my 50s, and I enjoy recreational golf. I thought a golf specific strength training program would help me improve, and I can already see results. I have been working with Chris for about 3 months. I am down 19 lbs, and my resting heart rate is 53, down from 68 a year ago with a BP of 114 over 70. He has been getting me ready for a week long hike in the Sierras with college buddies from class of '72. And his help with my golf swing has made a huge improvement, too.

After two neck surgeries I had not played golf in ten years. My goal was to get back on the golf course and play at Pebble Beach again. I began working out with Chris about 2 years ago. I was ready to give up golf because of chronic back and shoulder pain. A friend of mine got fed up with me declining invitations to golf every week and made me go meet Chris. He did an assessment and offered a plan to strengthen the areas that were causing me pain.
Within a month I was swinging a club again. After 3 months I was able to play a round a week. After 6 months working with Chris I went on a golf vacation and played 11 rounds in 10 days without pain. I look forward to my workouts with Chris every week to keep me strong.
