I was nervous about trying something outside my comfort zone, and Nate put me at ease immediately. He made the boxing basics approachable by breaking them down into one small piece at a time, without making me feel dumb. Each section of our session together felt challenging in its own way and gave me a greater appreciation for the art of boxing itself. Nate's friendly demeanor and incredible attention to detail turned an uncomfortable thought into a very enjoyable and motivating hour of coaching. I feel like there's a place for me at that gym whenever I want to return because of Coach Nate. Would recommend!

I had a great experience learning from Nate. I had some previous experience in other fighting styles that he took into account when creating a lesson plan. Instead of dragging me through information I didn’t need, he adapted to my skill and gave me the details I needed to bring my boxing technique to the next level. If you’re looking for a thorough explanation of technique and movement on top of a great workout, Nate is your guy.

Very beginner friendly. I attended an evening boxing class at Richard Lord’s when Nate was teaching, and I appreciate that he accommodated a beginner while juggling the rest of the class.
It seemed like most people there were regulars which made me nervous at first since I had zero background, but Nate made the time during the warm up to casually drop in and give me basic moves to start with.
it hardly mattered that I was a newbie and he got me up to speed quickly. In some gyms it can feel like beginners aren’t really welcome, but here I hardly felt like a newbie. Once the combinations started getting advanced, Nate made a point to drop by the two beginners to provide simpler combos that were still challenging
Appreciated that he was willing to give tips to the beginners just like the seasoned members of the class. He was overall extremely motivating and helpful and I’d def drop in on his class again.

Nate is great! My wife and I have taken three lessons with Nate and we attend together. A nice bonus to this setup is that while Nate is doing drills with one of us, the other one can "shadow" the drill increasing exposure and building muscle memory more quickly. Our goal is fitness and learning something new and this is something that will get you excited and looking forward to the next lesson. Boxing training can easily become an intense full body workout if you like but Nate is sensitive to individual preferences for pace, and will adjust to meet your needs. Boxing basics are more nuanced than you might expect and having the right instructor makes all the difference. This is a real boxing gym and Nate is the real deal. He is personable and an invested instructor. If your goals are like ours, fitness and new experience learning boxing skills, or training to be become a competitive amateur boxer this is the right place for you!

I was visiting town and was thrilled to come join Nate for a lesson as I’ve always wanted to box but never knew where or how to start. When I walked into the gym I immediately loved the vibe but after I started working with Nate it just got better because of how friendly the environment was. I really appreciate Nate taking the time to make sure I fully understood each part of the lesson but also not pushing me too hard on my first day. If I lived in Austin I would 100% keep doing lessons with him! I highly recommend.

Working with Nate has really helped out my boxing skills. He is very easy to work with, and is willing to tailor private lessons to your own needs and interests. He has several years of boxing and sparring experience. Most importantly, he doesn't let mistakes slide, and corrects them right away so that you don't go out and get yourself hurt. He is very friendly and fun to talk to as well. Highly recommend working with him whether you are brand new to boxing or experienced!

As a true beginner, working with Nate was the right move. He gave clear instructions and gentle correction, while keeping a watchful eye for techniques that could result in an injury. Great way to get into boxing.

For my first boxing lesson, I learned that Nate's coaching style is catching mishaps the moment they happen. Anytime I overextended a jab, Nate coached me on the correct way. Nate is amazing with on the spot fixes for learning proper boxing techniques!
