Dropped in to CrossFit Be Someone with my sister and had an amazing experience! The gym was super welcoming from the moment we walked in. The coaching was honestly the best I’ve ever experienced. The coaches were knowledgeable, attentive, and modified the workout perfectly around my shoulder injury without making me feel left out.

The members were incredibly friendly and introduced themselves right away, which made us feel like part of the community immediately. The workout was challenging, fun, and overall just a great time.

Definitely planning to drop in again whenever I’m in town!

Joining CFBS was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It has been a huge boost for my mental health. For the first time I've been able to stick to a consistent exercise schedule and maintain healthy nutrition routine. And of course, I am getting physically stronger every day. I no longer feel the need to reward myself for working out; each class itself is the reward.

The coaches make all the difference. They're attentive, supportive, always focus on the safety of the movements, and always help me to adjust the movements to my level, especially when I'm dealing with past injuries. And the community here is very supportive too. I'm stronger, healthier, and happier because of this place. I highly recommend everyone to consider joining, regardless of your age or fitness level. Having never done CrossFit before, I joined this gym 3 months ago. In that short period of time, I've learned so many new skills, pushed PRs that I couldn't hit with my time in a normal gym, and have met some amazing friends.

Every day is an exciting new challenge to test and improve your body, with excellent coaches guiding you through the moves to ensure your good form and safety. They create an environment where it's ok to take the steps you need before tackling a new exercise, and your classmates are more than happy to give advice that helped them.

This gym is the best in the city, hands down! I felt right at home on day 1 and it’s gotten better each time I’m there. The coaches are able to meet every athlete where they are, push them to challenge themselves, and coach in real time to focus on technique and stay away from injuries. They care about our personal best just as much as they care about our safety (something not every gym does). I’ve only been there for a couple months and I already feel like they’ve been coaching me for years. I’m stronger and more confident during each workout. Whether you’re new to CrossFit or have been doing it for 15 years, you’ll find what you need at CrossFit Be Someone.

I did two sessions here with the guest pass from one of my friends who is a member. Ive never done crossfit before in my life and the first session was really challenging for me but there was so much compassion and encouragement from the coaches here. I was an absoloute beginner and they were able to meet me on the level i am on. Everyone said Hi to me and immediately knew i was a new person which was so inviting and welcoming for me. I chatted with other people and really felt the community even though i was there for two days. The other members there were so encouraging and made me want to come again. I have had the absolute best experience at Crossfit Be Someone! From day one, I felt welcomed into such a positive and encouraging environment. The energy here is amazing, and the sense of community is unlike anything I’ve experienced before.

What truly sets this gym apart are the wonderful trainers, especially my trainer Luis Andrade. His knowledge, dedication, and ability to push and motivate everyone are unmatched. He takes the time to focus on proper form, tailor workouts to individual needs and makes every session both challenging and rewarding.

Beyond just fitness, this gym has been a huge source of support for me. I went through a really difficult time dealing with loss, and Luis and the other members of the gym were there for me in ways I never expected. There’s only one word to describe this gym - Awasome! I’ve lived close to the gym and needed something new to start getting back into shape after our daughter was born. Having never done CrossFit before, then my husband told me and I went to gym and saw environment then my first met with Jocelyn and she introduced me very patiently and clearly and then I decided to start CrossFit tomorrow. Now me and my husband do together and we loved it.When I was new in the gym everybody was so nice here and sometimes I felt like I can’t do this workout but then Coach Josh, Louis, Daniel and Curtis taught me very well and then I did that workout. Now, CrossFit is my 1st priority and I never miss my class. No matter what time I was slept. I’d give it 10 stars if I could - my only regret is that I didn’t join before when I was pregnant otherwise it was more beneficial for me!

May 2024: Kind of wild that I'm still at this gym. A lot of great things happened since I originally posted my review in 2018. I ended up being a coach at the gym for 5 years before stepping back to being a normal member. I've seen the gym evolve and improve over the years. The coaching standards are exceptionally high and the community is something I look forward to daily. This is a place you join to continue to grow as a human, not just as an athlete. You just have to take the time to listen and embrace their message.

March 2018: The gym was revamped under new management in early 2017 and has made great strides to improve the programming, community, and equipment. The gym was previously run under the banner of Universal CrossFit and the changes from the old gym are immediately apparent. I have been a member of CrossFit Be Someone for the past year and am proud to call it home. Come check out this box and see for yourself!

I started at CFBSOMEONE almost a month ago and I have loved every minute about this gym since then. CF is known for its community, the versatility that it brings day in and day out. It definitely is true that each box is different than every other and I’ve certainly felt home at this one. The involvement that the coaches bring to each class, the knowledge, the accountability, and just knowing that they’re rooting for you every step of the way, (whether big or small) and making sure you believe in yourself is one of the greatest things! It wasn't my first time joining a CrossFit gym. I've been a member of at least 6 other CrossFit gyms and dropped in to an additional 10 or more over the past 20 years. I'd consider myself a good member, loyal, friendly, clean, supportive, athletic, passionate about CF, etc.

I was a member of this gym for 5 months (August 2023-January 2024). Parking can be difficult. Luis is a solid coach. The owner is hands on. The gym was only bearable when the owner stayed away. This gym was “not a good fit” for me. This is by far the worst gym I’ve ever attended.

Eight months ago, I wrote about how this gym became a second home for my daughter, who was new to Houston. And it truly has. Not only does this location provide an inspiring and motivating workout community, but also personal nutrition training. It was personally hard to ramp up my metabolism and I felt in a plateau stage for a long time. Neema helped me get my macros on track customized to my crazy busy lifestyle: full time profession with demanding hours, full time mom and wife and dancer on the side. 10/10 recommend! I joined this gym 5 years ago with NO prior experience to exercising. They had me go through an introductory course where they touched base on foundation movements. Once I was in the regular classes they offer “scaled” movements to make sure you are still meeting the work out stimuli. I constantly travel for work and have dropped into a wide array of crossfit gyms throughout the U.S. (I’d like to think I’m a good critic of gyms being a Crossfitter for 10 years) Since finding Crossfit Be Someone Nutrition I can tell you that they are far superior then any other CrossFit gym! Here are the reasons why:

1. Coaching: the coaches actually coach proper movements and SAFETY. It doesn’t matter what level you are at, they care about you and want to see you do the movements correctly so you don’t get hurt!

2. Clean and organized: The gym is clean! The equipment is in great working order and everything has its place.

3. The members and coaches are ALL welcoming and friendly!!! No judgement or cliques or bad attitudes. Everyone cheers each other on and it’s crazy but they greet you by name!!!

4. They care about you and your nutrition. If you want to improve your fitness they educate you on what you should be eating and putting in your body. They aren’t shameful or pushy just the right amount of info and support if you’re looking to break out of some bad eating habits.

I’ve been going to this gym for 5+ years and have since moved further away from the gym and I continue to enjoy going here. There’s only one word to describe this gym - AMAZING! I’ve lived close to the gym for a while and needed something new to start getting back into shape after our daughter was born. Having never done CrossFit before, I was intimidated by the idea in my head of what CrossFit workouts were, but I stopped in to talk to the owner Josh anyway. I could tell this place was different just by that conversation so I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. Josh (the owner) and the coaches approach is to meet people where they’re at in their fitness journey — it’s highly encouraged to find the right scaling of each workout so you meet the intended stimulus, rather than put on a bunch of weight unnecessarily. My wife & I recently moved to the area and were looking for a new CrossFit box. Josh & his team have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome, & strongly encourage support & community at the gym.

Seeing that we were new, other members have been quick to introduce themselves too. It makes it much easier to wake early & get to CrossFit knowing you’re going to be working out with friends.

The coaches spend the time learning each person’s CrossFit goals and movement weaknesses and move around each participant in the workout to observe and offer advice and guidance. Regular ‘check ins’ help keep you on track. This makes it a great environment in which to develop & improve.

Finally, I spend a lot of time on the road for work. Josh has no hesitation designing ‘hotel gym workouts’ so I don’t miss a workout. I greatly value this.

I’m a first time CrossFitter and sold on the Be Someone gym!! Honestly I was a little intimidated by my perception of what CrossFit was…lots of very in shape people doing Herculean feats and living in the gym. There are definitely VERY in shape and committed athletes at this gym, but the whole atmosphere and culture is the farthest thing from intimidating. I’m not in terrible shape but also not in great shape, my first week was a trial session to see if I could muster the motivation to join…muscles hurt I didn’t even know I had! But it was a good hurt. Every time I come to the gym I’m greeted by fellow participants and by the coaches. Everyone really wants to see everyone else succeed where they are…and of course improve! Everything is scalable to where I am in my fitness journey and there’s always cheers at the end when I finish up…I really do love this gym. Hands down the best gym in Houston. Don't be intimated by "CrossFit" - this gym focuses heavily on safety and won't push you past your limits like other gyms do. They have small classes, filled with great people, at a variety of times that will surely fit into anyone's schedule. Love this gym! My daughter and I have been members since day one, and three years later, here we are still, enjoying our experience as members and cf family. The owner and coaches are amazing, very knowledgeable and patient. They genuinely care for members. There's a culture of empowerment, respect, humility and good camaraderie, which makes anyone want to be there. I feel physically stronger and healthier now than ever before!

As cliche as this may sound, CFBS has become my home away from home. Yes, I get a GREAT work out...a combination of strength and conditioning with coaches that provide motivation and expert guidance; however, more importantly, I get to be a part of a welcoming and awesome community. Started going to this gym 2 weeks ago. It’s unlike a regular gym. There is a coach at every class to guide you. The coaches and athletes are very encouraging and push you to do your best. The work outs can be modified which is awesome when you’re brand new to CrossFit. Never thought I’d actually be doing CrossFit but it’s actually a lot of fun!

I’ve been at CrossFit Be Someone for a little over a month and I can’t even explain how much it’s helped me mentally as well as physically. There is positive influence everywhere, from the time you walk in to the gym, to the time you leave. The coaches provide so much more than any typical gym I’ve been to. The daily and weekly personal text messages as well as social media motivation really sets CrossFit Be Someone apart from everywhere else. Great instruction at this crossfit gym. The coaches actually pay attention to every athlete, giving help/ guidance on form.
