11/17/25 Update: Still the same awesome gym, coaching staff, and people! For those who want to get into CrossFit but may have had reservations in the past, I encourage you to try this gym out. It's helped me form a stronger foundation for my overall physical health since joining :)

One of the best crossfit gyms and coaching staff hands down. I'm newer to crossfit atheletics despite being a traditional gym-goer for years and still get my butt kicked (in a good way!) at every session! I can't speak for other crossfit gyms, but this one is not about being an intimidating gym in the way many people would often stigmatize "crossfit culture". Each coach is incredibly knowledgeable and prioritizes your physical well-being whether you're dealing with a general injury that season and needing to modify an exercise or simply having an off day and needing to go lighter. Your biggest challenger is yourself and I love that everyone here encourages you to grow no matter what level you're at.
Even if you've never done crossfit before and are simply curious to see what it looks like, I 100% encourage you to give SoChac a try. Having a strong (and positive) fitness community matters, even for people who genuinely enjoy working out solo like myself :)

My teenage daughter has been training with Larry for about a year now, both in group and private sessions, and the results have been incredible. She’s a volleyball player, and the improvement in her agility, balance, and overall athleticism has been huge. Larry has a great coaching style; he pushes her in all the right ways while keeping the sessions fun and motivating.
Every workout is well thought out and challenging, but always focused on building the skills she needs. It’s clear he really cares about his athletes and tailors his training to help them perform their best. Highly recommend Larry to any athlete looking to take their game to the next level!

Joining SoChac has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and overall well-being. The community here is incredibly welcoming and supportive.When it cones to health and gyms, I am a little skeptical, but from day one, I felt like I was part of a team that genuinely cares about each other’s progress.
The coaches are amazing — always encouraging, knowledgeable, and attentive. Special shoutout to Coaches Josh, Larry, Jen and Amanda for constantly pushing me (in the best way!) and helping me achieve things I never thought I could.
When I joined, I was working on recovering from ACL injury and struggling with hormonal imbalance. I can honestly say that training here has made a world of difference. My strength, confidence, and energy levels have all improved so much. I can now jump boxes, do wallballs (didn’t know I could do that) and slowly heading to learn a pullup (will get there someday :p)!
Every workout feels purposeful (sometimes exhausting but in a good way), and the positive atmosphere makes even the toughest sessions fun. SoChac has a great community of people with regular showing up.

When you come to SoChac you will move your body, lift heavy things, and sweat a ton. And you will love it!!!
Having been a member for a little over a year now, I can honestly say that it is one of the most encouraging and accessible places to workout. The entire staff of coaches does an excellent job of meeting you at your individual fitness and experience level, and the classes are designed so that novices and experienced athletes alike can workout alongside each other seamlessly.

So happy to be part of this community! I've long been intimidated by CrossFit, and I think that's pretty common. But if you're new to it, on a fitness journey, trying to get stronger - whatever the case - SoChac is the place for you. The coaches most definitely have the experience to work with seasoned athletes, but this is at the same time a very beginner friendly gym which I personally love. There is such a welcoming and supportive energy at SoChac and its the first time in my life I've actually had fun while working out. I look forward to going to class (usually, ha) and that's certainly never been my relationship with fitness before. There are monthly community workouts you can attend or even just come watch if you're hesitant but curious. You can prioritize your physical health, and have fun doing it - at SoChac!!

No matter where you are in your fitness, this gym is the place to be! Whether you’ve never worked out before, have been doing CrossFit for a decade, recovering from injury, or even just wanting to stay active enough to keep up with you grandkids, this is the place for. “Strangers” don’t last more than a class or two as the coaches and staff are very welcoming and the members instantly make you family.

I’ve been training at CrossFit SoChac for around a year and a half now, and I can’t recommend them enough!
From the very beginning, the community has been welcoming, supportive, and genuinely fun to be around. They offer various workshops throughout the year to help you improve different aspects of your journey—whether it’s nutrition, technique, endurance, or more. And the coaches, specifically, are amazing! They’re all incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, and truly take the time to help you refine your technique and safely reach your goals.
I definitely feel that when the day comes for me to leave SoChac (hopefully not anytime soon—haha), they’ll have left a lasting impact on both my physical and mental health.

I can’t say enough good things about SoChac! My wife and I were looking to improve our health and wanted something we could do together. We had very different experience levels in the gym, so this was proving difficult…until we gave SoChac a try!
Before every workout, the coaches check in with you to make sure the workout meets your skill level, challenges you appropriately, and accommodates your body that day(injuries, fatigue, etc). It’s really awesome and allows everyone to tackle the workout together as a community, regardless of where you are in your fitness journey.
We cannot recommend SoChac enough. The classes, the coaches, the community…all top notch. We feel healthier than we ever have before and only wish we found SoChac sooner.

Joining SoChac has hands-down been one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my health. My only regret? Not signing up sooner. I wasted a few months worrying about injuries instead of just jumping in.
I joined in November 2023. Before that, I was doing personal training at LA Fitness, which I enjoyed, but it was crushing my wallet. I started looking for a group workout setting where I could just show up, be told what to do, and have someone hold me accountable. SoChac checked all the boxes.
If you're new to CrossFit (like I was), don't sweat it. They offer an onboarding program where they teach you the fundamentals and make sure your form is solid before you ever start adding weight. It’s smart, safe, and super helpful.
Shoutout to my onboarding coach Amanda. She’s been instrumental in helping me set and crush my goals. She has become my fitness role model. That said, every coach at SoChac brings something special. Each class feels fresh and different, but what’s consistent is how much the coaches care about teaching proper form, avoiding injury, and helping you push your limits safely.
I’m in my mid-30s and thought I was already on the downhill slide of fitness. I’d had chronic back pain for years, couldn’t sit for more than 30 minutes without sciatic pain shooting down my leg, and I was worried that aging meant more pain was on the horizon. But thanks to a mix of CrossFit and physical therapy, my symptoms have dramatically improved and some are completely gone. My mood is better. My energy is up. Life just feels different now.
The workouts are all functional movements designed to make everyday life easier. Whether it’s lifting something at home or just hopping in and out of the car, I feel stronger and more capable. Muscles I didn’t even know existed now activated and engaged. I went from dreading the effects of aging to being excited for the next 5–10 years of staying active through CrossFit.

Sochac is the best! They were so helpful during my recent pregnancy. With the coach’s help I was able to adapt and continue working out 3-5 days a week. I also had coach Sandra do my nutrition and she wrote me a personalized glute/pelvic floor plan that I’m still using postpartum. I did personal training with coach Amanda in my 3rd trimester. My delivery and postpartum recovery were so much better than past pregnancy, all thanks to CrossFit sochac!

I had a fantastic drop-in experience at CrossFit SoChac this past Saturday! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. Let’s talk about personal coaching and remote programming. Enter Coach Sandra! When you need an expert who is passionate about strength training and achieving goals while navigating the various seasons of life, call Sandra! I am a regular at SoChac, but this winter I had to travel for work for 8 weeks straight. I didn’t want to lose too much strength, and also only had a hotel gym to work with. 😳 Sandra was not fazed. This is remote programming: a schedule of workouts that can be executed wherever you are, on your schedule, with Sandra advising from wherever she is. Sandra came up with a weekly plan that worked both my bigger muscle groups, and also my accessory muscles. I really didn’t even know how much I needed this focused strength cycle! I kept a log of my workouts, how I felt during & after, and my progress. Get this: she read it! And used it to build my programming each week. This is no cookie-cutter workout that you just power through. We had regular check-ins, and whenever I had questions or needs, she was there; a text or a call or an email away. I genuinely had a coach—someone challenging me, cheering me on, and adapting as she noted progress and changes. When I got back to town and my regular gym & community, I was posed for success and actually *stronger* in my Olympic lifts. I also avoided injury as I got back to the more dynamic training because of her workouts.
I cannot recommend Sandra enough. You can find her at CrossFit SoChac, and also make sure you *follow* her on IG at @coach.sandracdavila.atx. So many tips, tricks, nutrition advice, and positivity. Highly recommend!!

I found the Legends class with Coach Amanda very helpful, encouraging, and non-judgemental. I would definitely recommend Coach Amanda because she is very professional as well as warm and friendly. I came across SoChac when I was looking at getting started on my fitness journey. CrossFit seemed out of reach and unachievable to someone as unathletic as I am, but as soon as I met Coach Heather, I knew that I had found the right program and space for me.
The onboarding sessions (1-on-1 coaching) were the perfect introduction to the program, and Coach Larry was an excellent teacher - kind, supportive, and encouraging. He got me feeling confident, prepared and excited for group sessions in no time.
Group sessions are the real highlight at SoChac. The coaches are all exceptional (seriously, I could go on about them for way too long - Coaches: you’re all killin’ it!) and the other athletes are great motivators and cheerleaders. It really is just a bunch of kick-ass people working to be the best versions of themselves.
I’ve been with SoChac since June 2024 and I’m already noticing better form and posture, increased stamina, more definition in my legs and arms, a better knowledge of what I’m doing in a workout and why, and feeling healthier in general. I’m excited to see the progress I continue to make with the coaches guiding my journey. I cannot say enough good things about SoChac, the coaches, or the people that I workout with. I love this gym. Sochac has transformed my outlook on fitness. As someone who was seeing slow progress from individual workouts at home, I wanted something more structured and engaging. I am an experienced athlete, but new to CrossFit. I am building strength while maintaining and improving agility and functional movements. CF SoChac's onboarding was on point, and I get exceptional coaching every workout on how-to, refining techniques (esp. for Olympic lifts), and modifications if I'm working with soreness, injury, or simply can't do a prescribed move. The fellow athletes are also there to work HARD, which I love. I'm not paying to do an easy workout and socialize. That being said, everyone also has great senses of humor and are fun to be around. SoChac schedules social events into the mix, as well, so there's definitely time to connect outside the gym. And the phoenix logo?? Super cool. It's great, and I'm achieving my goals! Highly recommend.

Started at CrossFit Sochac in 2017 after seeing my wife's progress over the course of 6 months. By 2018 I was the fittest I had ever been. Due to an accident/ injury from a fall from height, I was unable to attend until recently, in 2023. The coaches, the programming, and the crew still are the absolute best. Most of the coaches have been there since I came initially in 2017, only to have built on their classes and programming skills. Coaches really look after your form and teach you how to get the best out of yourself every workout. Class structure keeps you accountable and helps you keep track of progress through a convenient app.
Returning to this gym has solidified my healing process. It has been very good for my body and soul. I look forward to the journey ahead, Thanks CrossFit SoChac!

I'm so thankful for CrossFit SoChac and my personal trainer, Sandra Davila. In less than a year, I've gone from the worst shape of my life to looking forward to the gym (and dare I say it, bathing suit season?!)!
It was the rave google reviews that convinced me to visit the Crossfit SoChat initially, helping me overcome my fear that I was too out of shape to start. The coaches and the community are welcoming and super supportive of newbies. As someone nursing prior back strains, I really value that SoChac coaches offer modifications and keep classes small so they can closely watch for and correct form.
When I needed a more accountability getting to the gym routinely, CF SoChac provided several options to help. I chose the personal training route and am so thankful Sandra had availability. If you're looking for a personal trainer, Sandra Davila is THE BEST! She's helped me regain my strength and my confidence in the gym with kind encouragement that makes you want to push yourself, but with zero-judgement. I'm so grateful for everything I've learned from Sandra and highly recommend her for onboarding and/or personal training.

I joined CrossFit SoChac a month ago. It's my first time being part of the CrossFit community, but I've been an athlete my whole life. I love this gym!!! The people are soooo nice, super approachable, welcoming, down-to-earth, supportive of all levels of fitness and ability. I joined SoChac CrossFit late February with personal lessons as I had zero experience/knowledge of CrossFit. I joined SoChac CF first and 2019-2020 and had such a great experience of training, being coached on all the movements and terminology that come with CrossFit. The patience/understanding that all the coaches had for their members was outstanding.

I joined 3 months ago and have really enjoyed every workout and event at this gym. The community is friendly and kind & the coaches are welcoming and attentive. Recently, my sedentary self started missing the active me. SoChac has made me feel like myself again which is great because it's not fun to feel like someone else...especially when that person sits around all day and looks like an out of shape me. The coaching is great! The compulsive side of me loves the organized space! The workouts are timely and challenging (and I scale them all), and the best part is they accept my lack of flexibility/mobility but still believe I can improve at my advanced age. :-) It's good place. Honestly, would not classify it as a competitive environment, so if you're in the <1% trying to make it as a professional CrossFit athlete, this may not be the place for you. For the rest of the population who wants an accountable exercise routine, while improving your overall cardiovascular health and physical strength, I'd say give SoChac a look. When I became a gym nomad a few months ago I was skeptical that I would be able to find a gym community I liked as much as my previous one. I was wrong. CrossFit SoChac is top notch. The coaching is fantastic, and I get constant pointers and feedback on form and technique. The coaches are great about pushing for more out of you, but always in a safe manner. They’re also excellent at making sure class is moving and getting us out on time, something I greatly appreciate. There’s tons of class times that should work for your schedule (I’m particularly partial to the 8:15).
The community is excellent, with all of the members being friendly, supportive and welcoming. Whether you’re the first one finishing a workout or the last, everyone is here for you. I’m very happy with my new gym home.

Former “Crossfit is probably stupid” reviewer here. After 12+ years as a member of LifeTime Fitness, I decided to change it up and found SoChac mostly due to the proximity of where I live. My prior experience with Crossfit (10+ years ago) consisted of friends bringing me to a couple of classes which helped shape my previously negative view of CrossFit because they had me lifting heavy weight on unfamiliar movements without much technique coaching. My experience at SoChac has been much different and maybe even enjoyable depending on when you ask me because some of these workouts can be challenging.
I say “can be challenging” because SoChac offers a lot of options to scale your workout up/down depending on your level of fitness or how you’re feeling. My wife likes to go to Yoga and occasionally I’ll crash a class with her. A couple of my favorite things about Yoga are the number of options they give you to build up to a specific hold/pose and nobody is judging how you look (or at least I hope they aren’t). This has also been my experience at SoChac where there are a lot of movements I can’t physically do or don’t have the coordination to do but the coaches do a good job of helping you build up to where you feel comfortable and will also help you push further if that’s what you want. The coaches also aren’t focused on how much weight you use – they have a prescribed weight for the workout but often the coaches will instruct me to scale down my weight/movement b/c of fatigue or b/c I’m losing technique. I believe this type of attitude fosters a judge free environment because it openly acknowledges we are all at a different place in our fitness and that’s ok. That being said… There are definitely some people who are really good at what they do and want to be competitive but for some of us, it’s about getting a good workout in and pushing ourselves harder than we would otherwise. The classes are smaller (13 max) and if you go to the same class every day, you’re going to see the same faces and get to know everyone little by little. This is different than Lifetime where I put on headphones and hoped nobody talked to me but as I have gone through class, I have actually enjoyed the comradery/banter that takes place. Something about experiencing some of these workouts together brings you closer b/c you all survived, I guess.
Again, I have really enjoyed my experience at SoChac. Originally, I committed myself to 3 classes a week but I have liked it so much, I go more and sometimes get FOMO when I miss a class (unless I skip the class on purpose because I peeked at the workout ahead of time). The coaches/athletes here are encouraging, likeminded, fun and it's a nice little subculture to be a part of in South Austin. If you’re new to Crossfit, like I was, or a seasoned veteran, I would recommend.

Attended CrossFit SoChac for three months after completing the full "Onboarding" with Amanda. As someone who generally is not a fan of group workouts, I had a great time here.
Crossfit has a reputation for pushing you beyond your limits into injury. However, I felt the exact opposite way here, and feel like I improved on my my form for every exercise we completed. Every coach from the classes I attended - from Heather to Amanda to Sandra - were careful to adjust workouts to fit my needs and the needs of my classmates, always watching to spot issues and provide helpful advice.
Kudos to Amanda, Sandra, and Heather for the great coaching, and thanks to Heather, Tim and Lauren for working behind the scenes. I don't think I ever attended a class where Josh coached, but he was great to workout with at the 4:30pm classes.
Highly recommend CrossFit SoChac. 5/5. I would still be attending if I still lived nearby.

This box became my second home while visiting my parents for 6 weeks. I got a drop-in membership and came 5 days a week. This box is amazing!! The coaches are phenomenal. This is the best gym hands down- when I arrived, I was about 40lbs over weight, high blood pressure, acid reflux, sleep apnea, among other things- and my doctor wanted to put me on prescription pills and a CPAP mask for breathing at night. I walked out of there wondering how I let myself go so bad and decided I needed something besides pills to get my body back in order. I found Crossfit SoChac through a recommendation from Airrosti. It completely changed everything for me, and that's no exaggeration. When I walked in and met/spoke with Heather- I instantly felt I made the right decision; next thing you know I was on their crossfit and nutrition tracks and started working with Heather, Josh, and Amanda (nutrition) and never looked back. A few months later I went back to the doctor and they thought their equipment was malfunctioning because all my vitals were the complete opposite from just a few months earlier and all my chronic ailments were gone- sleep apnea, acid reflux, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.- all of it gone 100% and I felt 10 years younger, without any pills or breathing masks :)
It's been about 3 years and I still am part of this gym. Their meticulous focus on technique and excellent form is unlike other gyms I've tried, where most instructors point to the workout on the whiteboard, turn on the clock/music, and go in the corner to check their FB. The coaches at CS are ON POINT, watching you the whole time like a hawk, making sure you are using the perfect form on every rep, and if you're not, they'll come over and work with you to correct anything- this seems small, but it's literally the difference between getting injured or staying healthy and making gains. I'm almost 40 and I'm in the best shape I've been since my late teens/early 20's. On top of it all, the coaches are a great, positive, growth mindset group that don't judge, criticize, nor insult anyone. They are of the mindset of lifting others to become the best versions of themselves and are a source of non-stop positive energy. Try them out, I guarantee they're the best gym out there (not just crossfit, but any gym in general).

I was initially hesitant to join a CF gym, I had just seen too much negative coverage over the years. However, the intensity and accountability of a group was something I was seeking. I met with the coaches and immediately was disarmed, they are very interested in my goals and making sure the WODs are executed safely. I am very satisfied with my decision to join CrossFit SoChac. Prior to joining, I had spent several years being physically inactive. I had previously paid for various memberships in the past, but never followed through…letting my fears of starting a new discipline get in the way of my success. After my initial meeting with Heather (owner/coach) she reccomened a handful of foundational skills personal training. Since I am new to CrossFit, it made sense I would need to learn the basics before jumping into a group class. I worked with Amanda the first 2 weeks, and it was a great introduction into what to expect in group classes. Amanda is very knowledgeable, patient and supportive during her sessions, and helped me to be confident enough to show up for my first group class.
The group classes are are always challenging, but I don’t feel defeated by any physical limitations. The workouts are hard, and you WILL be challenged no matter what your fitness level is. I really like how we can tailor our workouts to compensate for any limitations, and still workout as a group. In addition, the coach is very hands on with correcting form and motivating each person in the group class. Also, every member of this gym has been very welcoming and friendly/supportive. Some workouts we complete partner exercises and I’ve never felt awkward about pairing up with somone.
The main reason I have had success at SoChac is beacuse I feel more accountable with this gym/community. This gym is intimate enough that your presence is noticed, and you are able to have accountability with the coaches and fellow athlete's. I have been attending classes for about a month, and I already feel stonger, less anxious and more confident in my daily life. I love the feeling of accomplishment I get everytime I complete another workout. I highly recommend SoChac for all your fitness goals.

SoChac is one of the best gyms I've been a part of (and I've been a part of a lot). There are entry of gyms that preach community, but SoChac is one of the special few that really lives it.
The coaches too are very knowledgeable and well trained. They push you out of your confort zone while also making sure you are safe in the movements you are attempting.

Such an awesome gym! You really get a warm family vibe from this place. I came in a year ago with zero CrossFit experience, very nervous - but the SoChac coaches would always be happy to work closely with you to make you feel comfortable. The members are also great and fun to workout with. This CrossFit thing was originally supposed to be a “let’s just try this thing out for a month and see how it goes” and now I’m a full blown member, challenging myself and reaching goals. I haven't felt this good in years!
In 2017, I was hit by a uninsured motorist which left me pretty badly hurt. My neck and shoulder issues limited me for nearly 4 years until I joined this gym.
My neck and shoulder are gaining so much strength. I rarely wake up with the numbness and pain from my herniated discs.
I was hesitant to join given my injuries and the CrossFit stories. The doubt was quickly lifted within a few weeks. The coaches take their time to teach you the mechanics and motions of the lifts.
The coaches are very in tune with your progress, limitations and rest needs. I've been told a few times to take some days off to recover. Something I find to be incredibly important in a sport like CrossFit.
Overall the price, flexible schedule / options are a great reason to join. More importantly, the 1-1 care of the staff is the reason I'm still a member.
Highly recommend trying it out.

I have been with Sochac for a little over two years now. When I decided to try Crossfit, I shopped around. After trial classes at the other two gyms in the area I checked out Sochac and the third time was the charm!
The gym was clean, the class was small, everyone made me feel welcome, and the coach was very attentive and professional. The other two gyms were a much shorter commute, but paled in comparison. Sochac sets an incomparable standard.
Joining Sochac was the best decision I have made. The coaches and members truly care about you. I love Sochac, this place is my rock!

Great gym! They have CrossFit, mobility, and weightlifting classes throughout the week. Jenn, the weightlifting coach really hones in on your form, so if you want to improve your Olympic lifts, her weightlifting classes are a must! The CrossFit programming follows comp train, generally. Workouts are pretty challenging. Coaches always give you that extra push when you think you can’t keep going. They have early classes at 5:15am and as late at 7pm, and they always prioritize safe CrossFit. Overall, if you like to fitness (or want to start), and love to see improvement you will like this gym! Give it a try!

Being brand new to crossfit, I was very nervous about joining a gym, but thanks to the knowledgeable instructors and welcoming atmosphere that surrounds everyone at SoChac, I have felt right at home!! The workouts are hard, but doable for all workout levels, and the instructors are knowledgeable and make sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly! The Elements classes you take before jumping in to your first class are also great; they ensure you have the knowledge to do varying exercises efficiently and safely! I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to take the leap and start crossfit, or to those that are seasoned veterans. This gym is awesome and set up to meet the needs of everyone; you definitely won't be disappointed!

I'm not a gym or CrossFit person, but a friend recently invited me to join him for a morning workout with Heather at CrossFit SoChac. If you're like me -- more sedentary than you used to be (or want to be) -- I'd highly recommend you give these guys a try. I'll be going back. A really hard workout for sure, but fun. It appealed to my competitive nature. Heather really pushed me to do my best, and the regulars who made everything look easy were supportive and helpful. Highly, highly recommended!!!

If you're truly ready to change your life for the better, look no further than CrossFit Bulletproof! Really, stop the looking and research now, this is the place, Philip absolutely knows what he is doing. All while keeping you safe, injury free, and steadily progressing in a fun friendly team environment. I grew up always being the skinny, no....scratch that, the scrawny guy. No matter what I did in a gym or how much I tried to force feed myself, the GAINZ were impossible with the end result always the same, noodle arms, flat chest, fluffy gut, chicken legs. Being a dad of 5 with a fulltime job, I always used the excuses of "I don't have the time and I can't afford it". Those of course were excuses, because we all should have the time for our health, plus Philips class are quick and structured therefore utilizing and making the most of your time. And as far as affordability, Philip has the best deals around. And again, your health comes first, don't let price be the reason you are not taking care of you.
So back to the scrawny skinny guy that first signed up with Philip 2 years ago. Let's go over the things I could not do. I could not do an air squat. I could not hold up a 45lb Olympic Bar in the rack position much less over my head nor did I even know what Olympic lifts were. I could not do a pull up. I could not balance on one leg. I could not vertically jump more than a few inches. I could not run ONE lap without have to stop and pray for my lungs to get oxygen again. I could not play with my kids without being sore for days. I could not sleep thru the night. I could not take off my shirt at the pool or beach without being totally embarrassed.
Today, I can squat clean 235lbs. That bar I could not hold up, I can jerk 200lbs overhead. My back squat is in the 300lb club. My deadlifts are a few pounds shy of 400lbs. Pull ups....check. And let's add a muscle up to that as well. Stand on one leg....I can stand on my hands. The box jump that was a few inches high is now almost 4 feet high of stacked boxes. The one lap I could not run, I can now easily run 5 miles with my teens at any moments notice. My sleep is peaceful at night and my days are full of energy. 30lbs of add muscle later, no more embarrassing pool parties. Added bonus....fellas, do you remember growing up as a teen wishing you could dunk a basketball? I have been 5'11" since I was 17 years old and never had that explosive power in me. Not in my teens, not in my twenties. But today at the 35 years of age, there is some hops.
All this came with the patience and training of Philip. Everyday he is still teaching me something new. And all that I mentioned above is the bells and whistles. Your most important GAINZ will be the physical and mental health, and saving the best for last, the friends and community you will gain. Don't let another day pass you by, give Philip a call right now and tell him you want the "Lupe Tortilla Program!"

If you want results without spending hours wasted at the gym, feel free to swing by Crossfit Bulletproof. I’m not one to jump on band wagons, but after trying everything else to get back into shape and stay healthy I stopped in and talked to the owner Philip Tamez. His a great guy and Phil has done an outstanding job at hiring the right motivated trainers to share his dream of getting people into shape and back on track. And don’t think for a minute that this place is just for hardcore physical perfect gods, pounding weights and protein shakes. You’re going to find a lot of normal people wanting to learn how to do a power clean, and wall ball correctly. So if your on the fence about what crossfit in town you want to trust, look no further. I tried about 4-5 different crossfit company’s before I found my home at Crossfit Bulletproof.

I've been going to Bullet Proof since it opened and have been working out with Philip a year before that and I've never been in better shape! It sounds cheesy, I know, but it's the truth. I've seen the change in my workouts, I'm a lot stronger. I've seen the change outside the gym from running to rock climbing and Ultimate, I'm faster and stronger and I've also seen it at home, I sleep a lot better. It's true, CrossFit isn't cheap but it's worth it, Bullet Proof has a competitive price and flexible class times (most days I'm in early at 6am, but if I've got to change it up I can jump into another class), fun/challenging weekend Team WODs and group events. Philip is interested and committed to seeing me get healthier and stronger, when it comes down to it, I'll pay for that kind of attention every time. I think CrossFit is pretty cool, I've played sports all my life, I know what a hard workout is but man, every morning I show up and I know the WOD's going to kick my butt and that's why I keep coming back!

Intimidated by CrossFit? Yeah, so was I, BIG TIME. I was a Division 1 athlete and no stranger to weight lifting or working out, but the idea of CrossFit scared the CRAP out of me. I had threatened to try it at least 10 times over the course of a year, and always chickened out last minute. Not only did the mortification of throwing up in front of strangers scare me, but I didn't want to get sucked into the "CrossFit Cult", like many of my friends had. Then one day I drove by CrossFit Bulletproof on my way to work and decided I needed to suck it up and head in, and I must say it was a great decision. Not only does Philip know what he's doing, but he also knows how to gauge each individual and their level of fitness personally. I had only seen CrossFit competitions and pictures online, so I assumed I was expected to walk in on day one and dead lift 400 pounds and do 300 pull ups in 5 minutes, and for the first time ever, I was happy to be dead wrong. Philip is patient, he won't let you hurt yourself, and if he thinks it is technique you need to work on, he may have you drop the weight all together and use a PVC pipe until you get it right. It's an exciting and frightening drive each morning not having a clue what that day's workout will be, and he will undoubtedly make you work your butt off, but when it is over, it is SO worth it. If you have even one small competitive bone in your body, this is what you should be doing, and if you want to do it in the Austin/Buda/Kyle area, you should be doing it at CrossFit Bulletproof. Not only is it a great workout, but the pricing and class time flexibility is pretty much the best I have come across (and like I said, I've looked into a LOT of CrossFit boxes). No one here pushes the "cult" on you, we all just want to be the best versions of ourselves we can be, and we all love a little "friendly" competition! I work hard at not being corny, but it is amazing the friendship/family dynamic that has been created at CrossFit Bulletproof, and Philip is the patriarch who has laid a foundation to help make us all healthier and happier.

I hadn't worked out in years and decided to join Crossfit Bulletproof to improve my health and tone. I was intimidated, not knowing what I was walking into and hearing that it was tough. Philip and the others definitely challenge you, but don't push you to overdo. They even modify workouts to lower impact so that you can ramp up to the full exercise without hurting yourself.
