By far the worst Crunch. Drove out of my way to visit this location since it’s the only one that even offers spray tans. The guy at the desk wasn’t much help either and didn’t know anything about it. When I got to the spray booth room, BOTH tanning solutions were completely out and unavailable so I wasn’t able to get any color whatsoever. I also noticed that they were completely out of the barrier cream, but not like I needed it anyway since I couldn’t get a spray, lol. And to top it off, the room was pretty dirty and gross. Not worth anything.

We signed up for crunch fitness a month ago and paid a little extra to be able to go to every location. We have been to three including this one and this location has been the worst one. It’s a really bad shape. I forgot my water and when I try to buy abottle water, the machine or fridge case wasn’t available and the water fountain was not working. This is a terrible experience. I don’t think we’re coming back to this location.

I traveled an hour and twenty minutes. I'm in Uvalde for work. It's the closest gym. They aren't everywhere, only in the big cities. This is the closest. I got home tired from work, slept a bit, whatever, supposedly, supposedly, and this one says it's open 24 hours. I repeat, it says it's open 24 hours. I arrived at the gym at 10 pm. I don't have a reason to interact with the staff, but they seemed friendly. I intended to do two routines in a row, couldn't finish the first one. At 11 pm, they kicked me out of the gym because they were closing. Yes. Super hot air. I paid for 24 hours, I traveled because the internet says it should be open 24 hours and be the closest. Update the schedule then or talk to your staff if it's open 24 hours. I drove all that time to get kicked out of a gym that's open 24 hours.

I’ve only been here a handful of times. I remember why know. Staff was not very friendly, kinda like whatever mood. The outside wall of the building has been under construction since it opened. And did not have the eye covers for the tanning bed. She didn’t try hard enough to look for any. Even planet fitness down street is way better. I’ll stick to PF. Update 5/20/25. I signed up for a Membership back in August of 2024. After a few months I had to cancel due to my son being born and not having time to go. I called the location and they informed me that they would cancel my membership. That I would be responsible for one final payment. This final payment would have been November. Here I am today fighting them because they slept charging me and are now stating that I never cancelled. That I cancelled the day o called to complain about being charger several months after my membership was to end.
The management at the site was nice but the area manager was terrible. She never responded to my emails and basically ignored me and kept my money. Will never recommend them due to my experience. I will stick to my home gym

I recently started a new job in the area.There's only two Crunches around here. I decided to try Marbach as it’s closer than the one in Bandera (about two miles) . Walking in the staff was friendly , restrooms looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks, dirt rim all over toilet bowls. One stall had dried up blood on seat. Toilet paper was out in more than 1 stall, toilet paper pieces all over floor .Mirrors by sink all had water stains and water all over the sink - I wanted to warm up with the stair masters all of them are rusted and dirty you can see sweat stains I tried 3 of them and all of them cracked when in use . Ceiling was failing apart in multiple areas. The chemical in their bottles seems to be water with Clorox - my hands smelled every-time I cleaned a piece of equipment - Cut my work out short to go shower and get ready at work. Safe to say I will not be returning to this facility!

My name is James, I’m from out of town visiting family and I thought I’d pop in for a quick workout at Crunch. I have the peak membership so I was excited to try out a crunch in a different city. This crunch makes my crunch in El Paso look like a 5 star resort. The equipment is rusting, machines are out of order, the cycling room has handprints all over the mirror. Places ran by regular employees machines are always broken. Sauna is always broken. The outside is trash. There’s half a parking lot for months. Kids club isn’t even open on Fridays, but it’s open at every other location on Fridays. I originally joined the one in converse since I live in between that one and the one on San Pedro and both of those gyms are awesome. Super spacious, tons of equipment, and always clean. Just tried the one on marbach today since I’ll be moving to this side of town soon and I’ll say I was disappointed. They have about 1/4 of the equipment as the other ones do and they all show a lot of wear and tear in them (which can also be felt in the smoothness of the machines and cables). Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good gym and can get a solid workout in. But I was just disappointed after experiencing the other 2 and everything those have.

Why have hours if you never open when you’re supposed to? This issue of not opening on time during the weekends is getting crazy. I can understand it happening every once in a blue moon, but it’s starting to feel like every other weekend the doors aren’t opening on time. If you open at 6:00, don’t stroll up at 7:00 or 8:00 acting like everything’s fine.

This doesn’t even get into the issues of my wallet being stolen with no concern, machines constantly broken, facilities a mess, etc. I’ll remain hopeful that my cancellation processed correctly and I don’t get charged this month. But we know how that can go.

I used to tell all my friends and family to go to Crunch and get a membership mainly because it’s a very aesthetically pleasing gym. But I will never do that again after what happened to me today. I have been going through financial troubles. I owed a balance on my gym membership. I panicked because I had just noticed at the beginning of this month that the bill was not coming out of my bank, so I called. I talked to a lady on the phone, and she said we could do a payment plan at the gym. I was so relieved. So today, I made plans to go and start that payment plan, and they charged me the WHOLE balance, leaving me with nothing left. I called the gym hoping the people would have a heart and help at least refund some of it since I was now unable to buy any groceries. They told me, “your bills are your responsibility.” Incredible. I will NEVER set foot back in there except to cancel.

Proactive feedback: I've been going to this gym for at least four months now, and they do not fix stuff In a timeline manner; the sauna has been out of service since I joined, and they keep saying that "I'll be fixed next week" (four months down the road)., Showers are filthy (there is mold around the knobs). Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. I’ve been a member since it opened in 2020. For a while, the gym was awesome. Smallish yes! But it had everything I needed. Great vibe and atmosphere. Cool members.

Fast forward to 2023, and this place has declined rapidly. Machines broken constantly. And while yes, after constant usage, things wear down and unfortunately break. My issue is the amount of time equipment remain out of commission. And this wouldn’t be a big issues if the gym had multiples of each machine. They do not. Prime example, there’s only one leg extension machine, it has been broken for 8 months. And this wouldn’t be that big of deal however, they posted a sign stating it would be fixed by Dec 7, 2023. There were signs of hope as there were technicians actively working on it. But it is now almost February and still broken.

And the list grows of the neglect this place has. Cleanliness is horrible. Broken spray bottles. Constantly running out of paper towels (and I mean the entire stock, not just one or two dispensers. A/C broken during the summer. (It did get fixed like halfway through). The floor around dumbbell rack was severely damage from people dropping heavy weights; it did get fixed but it took many months for that to happen.

One positive, there are a few great workers there. But there are a few you can tell are just there to collect a paycheck.

I can’t keep defending this place and wishing for change. I constantly worry about where my $10 go each month. Crunch needs a brand new owner/management or just sell it off and close it. And if I’m not mistaken, it is currently on its second owner.

But for the people reading this (the ones looking for a gym), there are better places. Fitness Connection on 151 is around the same price and 3x as big. Go there instead. I did and I’m loving it, so far.

And for anyone reading from the Crunch team, abandon ship before you get dragged down with it.

And to the Crunch owner, do better or sell/close the place.

No need to contact or reach out. I have already ended my membership and gone elsewhere.

I have been going to this crunch for more than a year now. In the last month I have tried two other Crunch Fitness in San Antonio, the crunch in Abilene Texas, Odessa, and Killeen. So when I say that the absolutely GOD AWFUL state of this gym is on the workers and staff then I mean it. This is without a doubt, the worst Crunch in Texas.

At least golds gym and planet fitness gave me until the next pay period once I cancelled. So I basically paid an extra month and couldn’t go. Plus the gym equipments are always broken and during thanksgiving week I waited an hour in the parking lot to wait for someone to open only to waste my time.

Would give no stars if I could simply for the cancellation policy it is horrendous. Canceled my membership because I had some life event happen and could no longer support paying for the gym. Canceled early November. I paid the yearly fees and the month of November. No big deal I canceled without a 30 day notice that fine. I have now been charged again for the month of December. Called and was told it’s because of the 30 day policy but I was told the same thing for the money the took on November.

Friendly and helpful staff and there is working gym equipment.
It’s very dirty, the gym floor is coming apart, mirrors are dirty, trash and dirty floors in the locker room. I’m sure it was nice when it was newly opened but it’s sad to see that they are not keep up with the gym.
The location on bandera always has a bunch of staff and there is always someone cleaning.

I was offered to upgrade for kids club and I accepted the recommendation and since then 7 times kids club is closed and I end up going back home with my kid missing my workout. Equipments broken for months , 3 different occasions I come between 6 amand 6:30am and the gym still closed. I know things happen but don't be recommending things you can offer

I’m giving this place a one star rating. The gym is always dirty, short on cleaning supplies, and management clearly doesn’t care about its customers. Also, the front staff usually has someone running late once a week to open early in the morning and everyone is waiting in the parking lot.

It may be a smaller size gym than the one on Bandera Rd, but the vibe and atmosphere is welcoming. They play music for everyone and will actually take requests from their customers just as long as there is no profanity. Just make a few upgrades on the equipment and add some more weight machines and it's perfect. I highly recommend Crunch Fitness Marbach.

I have been to many crunch fitnesses around the US. This one by far was the MOST FILTHY and neglected gym I’ve ever stepped foot in. The floors are disgusting, the bathroom floors, the shower floors, the gym floors.. there is equipment thats broken, just sitting there, no signs or anything. This place is a mess. I feel like there is absolutely no management and no one has cleaned the place or checked the equipment in years. Highly recommend you do not go here unless you have absolutely ZERO other options.

Giving this gym 2 stars instead of 1 only because it has potential. I’ve never seen it busy but I’ve also never come after work hours. It’s also cheap.

What truly should be noted here is how disgusting this gym is. I’ve never once seen anyone going around cleaning the equipment. The plates are all over the place. Most importantly this place is a breeding ground for any disease you can think of. The AC has been broken since day 1 (staff told me this). This is Texas. It’s disgustingly hot outside. It doesn’t need to be even hotter inside the gym.

This is by far the worst gym. The free weight section has been riddled with a lumpy A floor for forever now. There are signs that say "be careful"... how about you fix the problem?!

My favorite part though, it feels like a sauna every single time I'm there. I've asked and they SAY the AC is on, clearly a lie. Guessing they can't afford to fix that either?
The music is alright, however it is extremely loud. As someone who works out with ear buds, there is NO reason I should have to turn my volume almost all the way up to not hear the gyms music.

Also super dirty, bathrooms are a mess 95% of the time.

Go in there as you read this review and I guarantee it's humid and hot as hell.

Get the AC fixed, hire a cleaning crew, turn the music down, and fix the lumpy floor.

We're approaching summer and it will be more unbearable than it already is. Thank goodness it's not packed in there because you can't breathe in there. I've been close to vomiting a few times because it's extremely humid and hot.

Also, please turn down the music. Most people bring their headphones and don't want to hear the gym's music over their own.

On another note, I do appreciate the effort Crunch is putting in to clean the place. There is always a gentleman in the morning cleaning and I'm very grateful!

It feels like I am repeating points that other people have made with their reviews but perhaps (hopefully) management/ownership would listen enough to care for their business/gym and the clientele who continue to pay their dues to workout there.
I joined Crunch last year at the beginning of summer. I was coming from LA Fitness and from day one of starting my membership at Crunch, it was obvious that LA and its equipment were in better condition and with more availability; however, I adored the kids club and the staff that worked at this location and still do! Firstly, they have security cameras all around (inc. KC), unlike LA which has ZERO SECURITY in their kids club or gym floor! The ladies who run the kids club during the day are fantastic with the children who visit and the room is always clean and tidy.
Since joining this location (over the months), equipment always seems to be broken. It is understandable for equipment to break but there is never any rush to fix it. Cables, weight adjustment switches, seat cushioning etc… although not long ago some bench cushions were replaced, it doesn’t seem to be enough. To add, the AC in the main workout area is broken and we are soon to be approaching some of the hottest months of the year here in Texas. It is already unbearable on a good morning; to workout given the humidity inside the building, and managements idea of a fix seems to be two fans either end of the gym, it just isn’t enough. The floor is torn up in the free weight section and there are huge dips in the floor by the benches from the impact of weights being dropped on it so many times. This alone is just an accident waiting to happen. In fact, I have tripped over the floor myself with weights in my hand. Same in the power racks when trying to perform deadlifts, finding ourselves constantly trying to stabilize the weights so they don’t roll everywhere which can hinder a good workout. Equipment and floors are filthy/torn, the last cleaner I saw scrub just part of the floor revealed its real colour, but just in one spot (It’s blue btw)! The ladies locker rooms are filthy a lot of the time and at worst, I have walked into the toilet stools to find used sanitary items hanging out the trash cans whilst also no toilet paper. Although on my visit today, they were cleaner than usual and stocked! The sauna is hit and miss whether it works or not, so I just don’t bother anymore. The refreshments/water/pre-workouts at the entrance of the gym aren’t always restocked in a timely manner which makes me regret not stopping at HEB on the way. Today I paid nearly $2 for a cheap (Hill Country Fair) bottle of water that someone obviously had to go to HEB for this morning; and purchase just so there was SOMETHING to sell!

I find it disappointing overall lately. And feel sorry for the Personal Trainers and Staff that put a lot of work into promoting this location.
On a positive note for this gym:
- The personal Trainers are amazing. I purchased a few sessions to help me with my form etc. and have learned a lot from them. They are extremely passionate about what they do and making sure we reach our goals! It’s not just a paycheck for them 😊
- The little community that visits the gym on a regular basis are also pretty amazing. And for a newbie like I was at the time I joined, made me feel comfortable and confident to workout.
- I always feel welcome when I come into the gym, from the moment I walk in the door. I am always greeted by whoever is at the desk and will always stop for a quick visit before I start my workout.
- As already mentioned, I love the girls who run the kids club during the mornings. They are extremely attentive and kind to all the children and I am always left confident in my own child’s safety.

I know Crunch is supposed to be opening a new location soon but it’s such a shame to let this little location go to pot in the meantime. And with all the money Crunch takes from it’s members inc. EQUIPMENT FEES, makes me wonder WHY this location is being let down like it is.

This place is FILTHY now.
I hadn’t been here in a 6 months due to an injury so idk what happened, who quit or what but this place has fallen apart. I caught myself picking up random trash throughout the facility between sets because there was trash everywhere. I even ended my workout halfway because I was in utter shock of how dirty everything was I didn’t even want to touch anything. I thought maybe they’ve just been busy but you can tell by the filth and grim everywhere that this place hasn’t been mopped/sanitized in a long time.

Very disappointed I hope management sees this, this place used to be awesome but if it’s still this nasty the next time I go I’ll definitely be canceling my membership. This environment just isn’t healthy for anyone especially those who are trying to strive for a healthier more disciplined lifestyle.

As a member i would expect an entry it states open, however there have been occasions where no one is here at 5am! Another thing is drinks at time will go days without being available! If convenience stores aren’t open it would be nice to have energy drinks or protein shakes or at least water bottles but at times it goes days without anything in their coolers!

I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now. Recently on 12/13 they withdrew $660 from my checking account for no reason. I went and spoke with them about it they said they would send me a check since it was from a checking account and not a credit card. Imagine having that much money taken out of your checking account right before Christmas. I haven’t been able to get a hold of any managers. Their website is no help with contacting corporate and I still have yet to receive my money.

Lost out on 3 months worth of payments due to miscommunication amongst management and workers at this location. Although we’ve loved coming to Crunch, we feel lied to and scammed. They initially told us to freeze our account, instead of cancelling, stating the Bandera location would be opening soon. They have been telling us this for a whole year and keep pushing back the opening date. They then proceeded to charge for the following months every time the “opening date” passed. Although the previous manager, Christina, had assured us we would get our money back, she stopped working there and management decided they would not honor the agreement. Crunch lost our trust and our business.

Froze my account due to moving locations in San Antonio and waiting for bandera to open. The manager at the time, Christina, told me there was no possible way to get a refund for the months that were charged after my account was frozen. I was told other wise by the employee at the location, that I in fact could’ve gotten a refund. I was lied too and charged about 3 months of gym time even though I was not there. They said they could not do anything for me, and we’re crediting the amount to annual fees, etc for when bandera opened. Now im losing out on money due to being told no refund could be given.

The girl on the phone that was assisting me was great though. I thank her her talking to me about it as I was obviously frustrated.

I've been a member for 1 year. Five times i've come to the gym in the morning before work and no one's there to open. Dozens of people waiting in the parking lot. They are severely understaffed and it shows. Additionally, the gym locker room is filthy all the time. Looks like they clean it once a month at most and numerous pieces of equipment have been broken for months.

I have been a member of this gym for a year now. The monthly cost of this gym is definitely what you get. The equipment during this time has slowly been “out of service” and typically not replaced in a timely manner. Aside from the cardio equipment there is not much “extra” of the free weights or machines causing some issues in the wait time to get one. The cleaning supplies usually is not stocked which is rather frustrating and gross since that says the equipment you’re using is probably not sanitized. It’s hit or miss in the mornings if the weights are organized or picked up which again is frustrating when trying to workout before work. As for the restrooms/showers it’s up in the air if it is clean.

I’ve been a member of Crunch for a while & I’m in San Antonio to visit family. I’m glad this is only 15 minutes away.

The good: I like the layout of this gym especially the functional fitness area.
Having C2 rowers by the sleds is something I wish the Crunch gym I go to is set up.

Contrary to other reviews, it was clean when I went.

The bad: a fair amount of equipment upholstery are ripped; it looks like they’ve been ripped for some time since they’re pretty big. At my Crunch, the maintenance folks do quarterly checks to make sure ALL the equipment is in good to excellent condition.

I understand it takes time to replace cables but there’s ONLY ONE multi-cable station.

Overall, I know what to expect when I go in a Crunch gym & I got a good work out in. This facility could be improved with regards to maintenance.

Short review: Exactly what you’d expect from a gym on marbach

So I loved this gym at first but grew to hate it. I gave the Gym so many chances. Equipment always being kind of broken/on the verge of being broken. Good variety of machines but only one of each machine. I think the thing the pushed it over the edge was the crowd that goes here. That’s not the gym staffs fault! The thing that is the gym staffs fault: If you are friends/cool with the people who are working at the time you can get away with pretty much anything. Saw two people fighting in the gym and all staff did was have them cool off for like 15 mins and let them stay and work out. It’s completely unprofessional. Go here if you are a beginner.

I liked the gym because it's close to my workplace. But now they close by 11 and I can't workout in the night anymore. I close my store by 11 so no way I can workout. It was supposed to be 24 hours when I joined and they just changed the hours. Not happy with the timings. For the squat racks it's not available when ever I want to workout. Gym is crowded all the time.

Had to drop my review to 2 stars because lately this location's been dropping the ball. Still outstanding customer service, paper towels/spray are always available, trash never gets too full, etc. The folks that work here are great and always friendly.

But dang, the equipment is getting bad. Dumbbells that look like they haven't been seriously cleaned since they were purchased, padding/covers on all of the equipment are shredded & torn, weights are all over the place even when the gym first opens, and for the last month or two there's been a huge issue with bugs. I can't count how many times I've had to stop my workout because a spider or other bug starts crawling on me mid-set. It's REALLY bad lately to the point where I'd start thinking about getting the place fumigated.

Honestly if the quality doesn't somehow pick itself up soon, I think it'd be time to move on to somewhere else. It's slowly started to head downhill, which you wouldn't suspect by looking at the Instagram page or other social media. All of those pictures were definitely taken when the place opened up, and you can tell because there's lots of duplicate images posted, and equipment that's currently broken/torn/wrecked that is shown as "ready" on the posts. It's a shame because I've always loved coming here for it's location, but that might not be able to save it for me.

Been coming here for about 2 weeks, clean equipment, great music good staff and plenty to do for all sorts of workouts. Staff seems helpful and people keep to them selves. I've dropped 7 lbs in 2 weeks so I'd say if your thinking about joining you should give it shot.
