Wish there was a bicycle rack like Golds gym have out front in their locations. There's nowhere to place your bicycle if one wants to bike to the gym.

Great gym environment with well maintained equipment. Other than the major selling point being the price, is that it's 24/7. Hallelujah!

I’ve been using this gym during the overnight hours for a while now, and it has genuinely become one of my favorite parts of the day. The atmosphere at night is calm, focused, and incredibly motivating. There’s something about walking in after a long day and finding a clean, quiet, and welcoming space that helps you reset mentally and physically.
The overnight staff deserves special recognition—they’re attentive, professional, and always make sure the facility feels safe and well-maintained. You can tell they take pride in keeping everything spotless and in working order. Even late at night, the energy feels positive and supportive.
Equipment is always available, machines are cleaned regularly, and the gym feels spacious and organized. For anyone who works late, prefers a peaceful workout environment, or just enjoys the stillness of nighttime training, this gym truly exceeds expectations. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort, professionalism, and quality so well. Highly recommend

I absolutely love coming to this gym overnight. It’s quiet, clean, and honestly the perfect environment to focus without any rush or crowds. The overnight staff is always friendly and alert, making the place feel safe no matter how late it is. Equipment is always available, everything is well-maintained, and the vibe at night is unmatched. If you’re someone who likes late-night or early-morning workouts, this gym is hands down the best place to be.

Be careful when canceling your membership, their rules are absurd. I tried the gym with the $1 first-month offer, but it turned out to be a trap. I canceled during the second month because I moved, yet they still charged me a $59 annual fee plus the following two months of membership, claiming it was “protocol."

Great gym, but the sauna is super lame. They don’t have a thermometer in there because I know it doesn’t get hotter than Texas in the summer. It’s kind of a waste of time.

I would just like to give the staff at this place a shout out. They are ALWAYS cleaning. In the gym, wiping stuff down, in the restrooms, in the PARKING LOT?! like they are always working. This is my favorite crunch location by far and they deserve some credit.

Crunch Fitness is hands-down one of the best gyms for the price. The place is always clean, the equipment is well-maintained, and there’s plenty of machines so you’re not stuck waiting around forever. The staff is friendly, helpful, and actually seems happy to be there — which makes the whole vibe way better.
The gym has a good mix of free weights, machines, cardio, and stretching areas, plus the classes add a lot of value if you like group workouts. The crowd is chill, the energy is positive, and it never feels intimidating.
For the cost, the quality you get is unbeatable. It’s the perfect gym if you want a clean space, solid equipment, and a comfortable environment to actually focus on your goals. Highly recommend!

NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE GOING FOR THE MEMBERSHIP,
Body shaming in the men's locker from that visible Sansa room and can't literally say anything to prevent an argument, the entrance to locker rooms need mirrors but unfortunately they don't care and ultimately there will be an argument with someone if someone accidentally bumps into another person.

UPDATE: Reduced from 5 stars because this location did not plan logistically for the amount of members they signed up. There is never hot water in the 4 showers they have and hardly ever any parking. They need new and/or more hot water heaters which is much easier than installing more showers (also needed).
The location’s childcare is top notch though! The staff are all extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable from the start leaving my 13 month old to be looked after so that my wife and I could both workout. They allow you a generous amount of time to exercise, it is kept very clean, and has entertainment for all ages 1+.

I have been a member since day one and have loved it since. Staff is friendly, John M, my trainer has been great in helping me get my big ass back in shape. My body feels better, my clothes fit better and I have more energy than I’ve had in years. The gym has great perks (massage beds, tanning, red light and sauna), tons of equipment and they seem to have an army of people keeping it clean. Only negative is the locker room. Not enough benches near the shower and the hooks don’t hold the weight of bags so you gotta leave your bag out of site or set it on the floor.

Personal Training: Do not work with GABE! Very unprofessional… I ended my training with him and he failed to notify me that I had to end it with the manager because he wanted to continue getting paid. After I found out he denied everything and claimed he told me and instead of helping me the gym tried to force me back into a 3 month contract knowing I no longer live in Texas. They only care about money and don’t actually want to work with you.

I joined Crunch Fitness when it opened. They told me the first month would cost just $1, the second month would be free, and from the third month onward, I’d be charged for the membership package I chose along with the maintenance fees. I agreed to those terms.
Later, I had to move out of town for a new job, so I called to cancel my membership. At first, they said cancellations could only be done in person at the gym, but eventually, one of the staff members kindly helped me cancel over the phone. I specifically asked if there were any cancellation fees, and they told me there weren’t.
However, I was still charged a $115 cancellation fee and even after that, they continued charging me monthly fees and maintenance fees. Overall, it’s been the worst experience I’ve ever had with a gym. Very disappointing service from Crunch Fitness.

I called Crunch regarding my minor son’s membership and spoke with Carmen — she was an absolute breath of fresh air. 🙌
She was polite, professional, and proactive in solving the mystery behind my son’s account. It’s rare to find someone who not only provides great customer service but also communicates clearly and makes the entire experience smooth and pleasant. The mystery behind my sons account was not solved due to a few missing pieces, but I do have a disposition.
Carmen went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate her help. Crunch — reward this star employee! 🌟👏

Dropped in for a workout while on vacation. Great gym. Just opened 7/25. It's open 24/7. A lot of great equipment. Dumbbells up to 120lbs. All the cardio equipment you could need. Dry sauna in the locker room (no shoes allowed). Tons of hammer strength machines, only lifting platforms. Staff was nice. Also kids area onsite.

I joined Crunch about a month ago. I was looking for a gym that offered classes and equipment. Well, I found one! At first it was overwhelming because it is a very large gym but once I toured the facility and was shown all the gym had to offer, I knew it was for me. Bonnie explained all my membership options and helped me choose the best one for me. She continues to cheer me on every time I see her! The employees are always welcoming, friendly and supportive. They are always prepared to answer any questions. Love the classes. My favorite being Zumba! Great instructors with so much energy and enthusiasm! What an amazing workout! Can’t wait to try some others as I hear they are awesome. The gym itself is set up to make it easy to utilize whatever you need. If you have questions about any of them, just ask. The gym is extremely clean with wipe down stations everywhere. Last but not least, the trainers. Once I had a very thorough session with Connor, I decided to try working with a trainer to help me reach my goals. While all the trainers are awesome, Connor paired me with Rian. Rian is so enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient and motivational. He truly cares about helping you reach your goals. He plans a workout tailored to you. He will show you how to properly do the workout with details on form, sets, reps, rest days and more. I learn so much from him with every session. After a month, I have shown progress! Lost weight, built muscle and lost inches! He is as excited as I am! Rian, you are truly an asset to Crunch and to all of your clients.
Here’s to more sweat and progress at Crunch!

This gym is not what it makes itself out to be. I was mislead into believing the price was $36.00 monthly.. was not told of the annual fee of $60.00 . So 1 monthly of the year the membership is $86.00. That’s alot of money for a gym membership. I’m not really impressed. The prices are very high.

They are lying about FREE CANCELATION. I signed up in August. I asked about annual fee and cancelation fee and was told there were no cancelation fees, only annual fee. I personally did not use the gym one time. Did not even make it to the personal training appoinment. My bar code was only used by my son as a guest. When I tried tried to cancel, I was told then that they were just informed that there was a cancelation fee of $99 plus 2 months fees. Also, I was never sent a copy of the contract and if I try to pull up the contract in the app, the file is corrupted. So please show me where this was in my contact in August??? So I can show you to court. Get ready for Arbitration!!

The gym itself isn't bad, it's a normal clean regular gym, just had some awful customer service.
Before labor day weekend I lost an air pod case at this location in one of the cupholders on a machine, tore my house apart looking for the case and called over the weekend to see if they had it, the man on the phone took two seconds to "look for it" and claimed they didn't have it in lost and found. My husband went the next day to ask about it and they claimed they had thrown away my case leaving me to buy a new one which really sucked :(

Hy this is Taylor Johnson regarding a refusal service/ treated unfair. She said quote “ I can’t come in this gym. I did nothing wrong.. I am an entrepreneur and moved from Corpus Christi to San Antonio for a better opportunity. I simply wanted to workout it’s been 3 months since I have gone to the gym. I called ahead to ask about the process to transfer from crunch in corpus to San Antonio. She denied saying I am unable to transfer. I called Corpus Christi location and that gave me there email so they can help me with the proof of residency transfer. She refused service and I cried unaware of the issue. I came in through someone who allowed me as a guest through platinum . She accepted me through the guest pass then came up to me while I was working out and said to come to the front and told me to leave. Was this wrong? Cops showed up and this whole scene was awful for me. Worst experience I have ever had. Do not come here if you are expecting 5 star service. One employee helped me. Katelyn successfully made me feel unwelcome over this matter. Calling the police was unnecessary without a Clarified reason. I’m still crying over this situation. Forced out over a small issue. Didn’t even let me work out…

Absolutely one of the best gyms that I have had the pleasure of utilizing. Staff is top tier. Equipment, amazing variety. Members here are serious about their fitness. Its one of the core reasons of going to a gym.. Seeing others level up is a top tier and here members demonstrate that with discipline and peak physical condition. Cleanliness is top tier as well, and if you utilize your complimentary physical assessment, the staff will provide you the compass in the right direction based on what your health goals are.

Gym is nice and big, crowded but that is to be expected since it is so new. What I didn't expect is for the gym to allow people to workout in pajama pants and crocs from pretty much day one. I've also seen people in house slippers and more than one person in jeans and work boots. I also saw a kid carrying around a toddler on the gym floor and would occasionally put him down to run around and none of the staff said anything even though they were in plain view.

Gym is spacious, has a lot of equipment but staff needs to boot people who are sitting on the machines, especially leg machines, while texting on their phones. Twice I’ve stood and waited for a girl to start using the machine and she just sat there on her phone. After 20 minutes I just leave. 5 to 7 staff standing at the front. Walk around a bit and check on things! May need to go somewhere else.

I agree with some of the reviews that it was frustrating waiting on an opening date and not having any communication, especially if you were one of those people that signed up a month or two in advance. However, my rating has nothing to do with that.
Overall, the gym is really nice and massive, like one of the biggest gyms I've been to. The equipment is all new of course, and in great condition currently.
This is the first Crunch I've been to, but I have been a member of LA Fitness, Planet Fitness, Lifetime, various YMCA's and Gold's Gym all around San Antonio. I like that they have different areas for crossfit type training, hot yoga/pilates classes, spin, and other fitness classes. They have a wall of squat racks with separate deadlift platforms behind that, I really like that they have the option between the two. Additionally they have a section with glute specific machines (glute drivers, glute coaster, and the standing hip abductor with a step up cable attachment hybrid).
I have two and a half complaints, which it why I rated this 3 stars. Primarily, the overhead music is so loud. Like LOUD. I have AirPod Pro 2's with ANC and I can still hear the music clearly after activating the ANC and playing my own music. I also have another pair of earbuds that are similar to the AirPods but also have ANC and they also do not hold up against how loud the music is. I asked a question to a fellow gym goer and could barely hear her answer because the music was so loud, we had both looked up at the ceiling in annoyance as we were talking. I am not hard of hearing in the slightest, I was going to visit another Crunch since I have the peak membership to see if this is maybe for opening month or what, but haven't had the opportunity yet. Every other gym I've been to does play overhead music, but not this loud. I have caved and ordered a new pair of fancy over the ear headphones that I was merely considering previously, but hope they help with the noise.
My second compliant is the lack of beginner yoga classes and hot yoga schedule. These classes are the only reason I joined this gym, so I know this complaint is specific to me. As a gym that just opening and offering hot yoga, there are only Foundation classes on Mon, Fri and Sun, and with exception of Sunday, kind of late. Regular hot Flow classes average two during the "typical hours" workday, then one in the evening a couple times a week. I asked the front desk when the class schedule changes and she told me about once a quarter, depending on how they see attendance trending and possible complaints. But an FYI, you need to set an alarm on your phone to get these classes, which is extremely frustrating. Also, I searched with all the other Crunch locations for weekend hot yoga classes and apparently Colonnade is the only one, so may the odds be ever in your favor. I haven't been able to get in yet, and I will cancel this membership if this continues.
The half compliant is about the cardio machines. It seems like you cannot select a program for the treadmill or bike (only ones I've tried so far), without syncing your phone or watch? I have messed around with the options a few times and the message scrolls across to select something with my Apple watch to choose a program. I get this is cool new tech, but I do not sync my watch or iPhone to anything I do not own personally. You can set the machines manually and adjust the tension or incline, but if you are someone who likes to walk or bike a program, just an FYI.
My last comment is about the people, which Crunch has no control over. This gym is new and has been heavily advertised, it's visible off the 10, you will have a lot of people checking it out. It's very crowded at peak times and I haven't seen the meter thing in the app working very well at all (my app is updated). I saw a lot of people with tripods and setting up to record themselves the first week this place was open, and maybe that was for social media advertising, but I really wish recording in gyms was banned. This part is not including my rating.

Gym is really nice and big. Only concern is the lack of safety for the childcare. The door doesn’t have a keypad entry, and lock from the outside with a push out only access like other gyms. So anyone can just walk in and children can walk out. Considering the childcare is right in the front it’s concerning, especially during busy times.

I’ve been to a lot of Crunch Fitness locations across the U.S., and this one tops them all—right here in my hometown! I’m so glad they decided to build a bigger and better facility in San Antonio. Everything is spaced out perfectly, and I’m never waiting around like at the others where you’re practically leaning on walls with everyone watching you. Music volume good and everything was placed with purpose and thought behind it! How it should be! Huge upgrade! So excited to come back and don’t mind the extra drive time because its so worth it!!!

It was a slightly frustrating experience waiting for clarity on when this location would actually open, but it was worth the wait! This is by far the biggest gym I’ve been a member of and the variety of machines and dedicated workout areas is impressive. Even if it looks like the whole parking lot is full, there is so much available equipment on the floor that you should never have to wait on a station to open up. It goes without saying that all the gear is brand new and quite easy to set up. I look forward to trying out the group classes and re-prioritizing my physical fitness.
