During renovation of the women’s locker room, men’s locker rooms are reduced to porter pottys OUTSIDE and a ONE handicap shower to share. Cherry on top is the fact that they have to use kids lockers to store their things while women take over the mens locker room. Absolutely ridiculous. No one should experience that, just shut down your gym until renovations are done. This is a men’s escape too, not an area to be treated like this.

Toilets never get cleaned, nasty, dirty and plain ugly. Do the girls know how to brush the rim?
Counters could use a basket of towels to clean and dry the wet counters. Showers, need attention too, hairs from previous showers not cleaned up.

I just wanted to say if you’re a mom needing time for yourself to workout but nervous about trying a daycare I definitely recommend this location!! The ladies here are amazing!! They are patient and kind. They put in so much effort for the kids, they had a Halloween party today that my daughter really enjoyed! Not many gym daycares that I know of put in that much effort. My daughter is always happy and excited to see them, she’s gotten to know them and no longer cries when I leave her there shes actually excited! & I look forward to being able to start my fitness journey as well. Im so grateful for them. I’ve tried other crunch location child care but nobody tops the wonderful ladies at this location! this is the one I feel safe and confident leaving my daughter for a few hours. The gym is nice and clean too.

Don’t let the brochures fool you. Just spoke with them in person at the front desk.

It’s $10/m if you sign up for a year. Otherwise if you’re doing a month-month it’s $18/m plus a $85 annual fee. To cancel the month to month you have to give early notice and will still get charged a portion of the annual fee.

If you want to just walk in for a day pass it’s $18.
If you want to just walk in for a single month payment, it’s around $85.

Place is always overly crowded to the point you can’t even get on a treadmill. Good luck trying to use a weight machine or free weights people practically hog those. Squat machines you can’t get on ever OR any of the workout areas …over run with people. Including weekends.

The women’s bathroom is spacious but the sauna — they really need to enforce the no shoes policy , nothing but shoes all in the place. I ended up canceling my membership not worth the hassle fighting traffic and then you have to fight to get on the machines as well. Parking lot is accident prone and hard to get a space. Not to mention it’s shared with some other business so goodluck when they’re open and busy.

The staff are friendly and helpful which was nice but they really need to expand.

No one wiped down their machines; sweaty people not wiping down the machines gross!

Avoid!!

People are running around spraying liquid bleach in the air constantly.

They could easily have wet wipes instead of liquid bleach to sanitize gym equipment but they could care less about your lung health.

Definitely skip this place!!

Despite being 24/7 this gym is literally busy from 5am to 2am. It's actually ridiculous. Not only that but it could be a lot cleaner and there is always the person at the kiosk in the early morning is unresponsive and careless about questions I have and doesn't bother to make sure people check in or not even present. Highly unprofessional.

Good gym if you don’t mind a crowd. Be wary signing up, as a base membership has a year commitment if you go for the cheapest price, and the staff won’t tell you that. Use a guest pass at the time you’d usually go to see if it’s worth it.

I rarely leave negative reviews. I usually only share experiences when I’m happy and want to recommend a business. Unfortunately, this was such a frustrating situation that I feel it’s important to warn others.

My teenage son believed he was signing up for a free trial, but after two months charges started appearing on his account. When he went to cancel, they wanted to add over $100 in billing, fees, and an annual registration charge. To avoid those excess charges, he left the membership active. When he tried to cancel again a year later, the same issue happened.

I stepped in to help and was told the late fees ($30) would be waived. I paid the balance due according to their 30-day cancellation policy and two months of missed payments. The next day, I checked my bank account and not only was there a charge for $30 (the late fees they promised to waive), it was there twice.

After already spending significant time on the phone the night before to cancel, waking up to find duplicate charges was infuriating. When I called back, they assured me it would be fixed, but only one fee was reversed instead of both. I ultimately had to involve my bank to block further charges and dispute the remaining balance.

I never even set foot in the facility, but based on this experience alone, the process felt misleading and money-driven. I do not recommend. If you do move forward, make sure you know EXACTLY what you are signing up for.

I had a terrible experience with the management here, specifically Training Manager DEREK LERAS. I was billed 3 times in August for a 2x-per-week training plan, and when I asked why, I was told one of the charges was actually a "late July" payment that hit my account in August. That was never explained when I signed my contract in December 2024.

Instead of taking responsibility, I was brushed off with excuses like "it depends when you signed up." This is not transparent, and it feels predatory.

My trainer was AMAZING and not at fault(she gets 20 Stars!) -- this complaint is about management's dishonest and inconsistent billing practices. Be careful before signing anything here. Derek didn't even try to help me more or try to save me from when I told him I don't wanna use the left over sessions you said I had cause thst raised red flags if I'm gonna be charged or again. Yet he said thst don't expire I'm at the edge, so he's not transparent and this SYSTEM needs to not drain their members at irrational times . So how can I trust thst I won't be charged again in September? DEREK LERAS didn't even reassure me cause all he's doing is draining my bank account . so don't trust the training manager. Management. And don’t hit me with the oh we are sorry to hear the email us at … You’ll see me in person canceling my membership . And y’all like too she Cheating with billing when I caught on . To the dishonesty and how you’re constantly taking money away from me. I’ll get compensated back somehow by
ya can’t swindle me .

The gym itself is nice. Mostly good equipment. Over crowded at the normal times and only one of certain machines. This is a problem with most gyms and not just Crunch but when talking with the front desk they l for once to try to improve the dynamic for all i realized the him allows..... certain types of behavior. As in. Sitting at a machine there is only
one of for 15 minutes and not allowing people to jump in while they rest. If someone could give me a good reason why circling in while you are not using the machine is not acceptable. Crunch said "did you ask? " of course I did. Politely. And I got a run around answer where anyone can sit as long as they like because crunch isn't going to ask them to move. The machines even say "circuit" on the side. Not sit there and doom scroll. Why do all gyms allow this?

Update: Rick the GM contacted me and we had a good conversation. Etiquette signs and ideally better behavior from individuals. In all i think the staff is kind and professional and the experience is worth the price despite the people with bad manners.

Overcrowding here is insane. One of the pec deck pulleys has been completely off for months. They randomly add fees to your membership overtime. Cannot emphasize how miserably busy this place is at all times, triples the length of every workout.

Overcrowded. Not very sanitary. Constantly out of disinfectant spray and some of the mats or equipment smell like literal feces or mildew, so be VERY careful and wiping down equipment is a must if you don’t wanna get sick.

I did the math on the base membership and the mid-tier one, they are essentially the same thing and the mid-tier is only worth it if you plan on staying a year since they draft the annual fee a couple months after you sign up. So, the base membership charges more upfront—this is how they get you.⚠️Came to cancel since I just moved near Central Austin, my membership had just drafted and when I canceled, it pushed it another month because you must give 30 day notice.💀 Once you cancel, they also charge you for the following month immediately. So, basically I’m stuck here until the end of September—super sly.⚠️‼️

Some of the staff are cool, others were subtly rude to my friend who had the highest tier membership and would constantly question her about using the massage bed multiple times—so weird. Also, when trying to bring a friend in, they have to sign in and from there they will constantly text or email them trying to solicit. Moreover, their system doesn’t even work, because my friend had entered her info many times and when we come back there’s no record yet they have no issues sending her text and emails promoting themselves.💀

Like the other bad reviews said, there are only one of the most popular machines and people constantly linger on them for 20 minutes or more at a time. A lot of the treadmills are constantly out of order.

Multiple times I have seen women bringing their little boys in the bathroom to change them, which is uncomfortable for others in the locker room. However, the only available private bathroom often reeks. Furthermore, there have been times where the women’s locker room will have something needing repair and there are male workers in the locker room fixing things…while there are women going in and out.🤨 The locker room where women shower and change btw.🫩

The only reason I got a gym membership here is because I live 5 minutes away, it’s 24/7, there is a sauna and because it’s too hot to run outside…literally that’s it.

Gym is newly opened, so all the equipment is new. They having tanning and red light therapy which is nice. However, if this gym wasn't new it would be your average big box fitness place. My main gripe is that its very dirty especially in the bathrooms. The toilets are gross. Dispenesers are always low, or out, for things like paper towels, soap, and toilet paper. They vacuum the locker room floors, but what does that actually do? They need to more frequently wipe down and disinfect the bathroom counters, toilets, and keep all the dispensers stocked. The weights are always all over the place. They don't have enough racks to hold the extra weights. TLDR, this place is good enough, for now, but not great, and the bathrooms and locker rooms are often dirty/gross.

I was a member here way back when it was 24 hour fitness. They renovated everything besides the bathrooms. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and need to be entirely redone. Old faucets that don’t even work when you wave your hand in front of them. Gross walls and tile. Toilets are surprisingly well-kept. Machines in the gym are nice. Not nearly enough of some though. Super busy because of its price point. Lot of kids who sit at a machine and talk with their friends and make everyone wait for their conversation to be over.

While the gym itself is nice and the staff is great the lack of wiping down of the equipment by the people using it is astounding and inconsiderate. In addition to that, people slam their weights and it causes the equipment to wear and tear more quickly plus it’s really distracting. Over all it’s a decent place just wishing people would be a bit more considerate.

My boyfriend and I started coming here a few months back after cancelling our 24hour fitness subscription, and it's the best decision we've made! the price is quite affordable for the perks that you get. The staff are friendly and so quick to help in any way. Patrons here get in and get out, so you usually don't have to wait for machines to be free for too long. Theres plenty of equipment and the staff often makes sure they remain clean and operational, even at peak times. 10/10 do recommend! Keep up the awesome work y'all!

This place is a scam!

Crunch Fitness makes its money by building a new place, dropping the fees below competition, and skrewing over the customer through the back end. When I had gone in to cancel my subscription, they hit me with an annual fee I had not been told about that increased my payment to leave up to 5x what was originally agreed. When I raised this issue with the manager on staff, Rick, I was met rude, condescending remarks and he was very difficult to work with. Be careful working with these guys!

I have been a member of the gym since last year, I love my classes everyday, I have great instructors in every class but one of the reasons I don’t give them 5 stars is because of the staff (team teachers they don’t coach), the employees are working the front desk especially VEE, I’m not sure if that’s her exact name but I brought my son today (6/16/ 2025) to the gym, he is 13 years old, he was on the elliptical walking and cycling machine while I was in my class. This guy VEE came into the classroom took the teacher’s microphone to say if one of the kids on the machine was our son or who his mother was in a high pitched tone interrupting the class asking his age. I immediately freaked out because I thought he was hurt then I said he was 12 which is not true because he was born in 2012 (he just turned), I was in the middle of class he brutally interrupted my routine. He raised his tone with no respect towards me or my son. I explained that I was 13, but she didn't accept my apologies because I was nervous when he made the call in class. I went back into the class and left my son sitting on the floor waiting for me until I finished my class for about 15 minutes. She wasn't kind to continue bothering my son until he felt sad and cried because of him . he said to go to daycare when my son goes to eighth grade next school year. Unacceptable behavior for my son and me. Some people at the front desk ridiculously said to bring his birth certificate next time, ?? I'm sorry, they're not bringing this everywhere. My words were questioned when I said I was 13; they didn't believe me. If this gym wants to call more people to sign up, believe me with those types of employees ,not people go there. This situation where I feel humiliated in front of everyone for no reason. I know the rules of the gym, but a guy tall enough, and old enough to responsibly operate a treadmill or a bike (just two tools he could use) doesn't deserve to be treated badly in front of everyone.

Crunch Fitness in South Austin is honestly one of the best gyms I have ever joined. It goes way beyond just weights and treadmills. I use the red light therapy and HydroMassage almost every visit. They help with recovery, relaxation, and just feeling better overall. It is like getting a little wellness boost every time I go.

The yoga and Pilates classes are a big part of my routine too. The instructors are great at making the classes approachable but still challenging. I always feel more grounded and strong after.

The functional training area is another favorite. There is plenty of space and all the equipment I need for circuits, kettlebells, and other dynamic workouts. I also use the punching bags a lot. They are perfect for cardio and clearing my head after a long day. The resistance training area is solid too. Everything is organized and in good shape, and I never have trouble finding what I need.

I always wrap up with the dry sauna. It is clean, hot, and super relaxing. That alone makes a big difference for me.

This gym checks all the boxes. Great equipment, solid classes, recovery options, and a chill vibe throughout. I genuinely look forward to going. If you are in South Austin and want a gym that gives you more than just a place to lift weights, this is it.

Gym is not meant for tall or big people. The benchpress bench is on the thinner side so if you try benching and you happen to be a bit bigger of a person you could injury yourself here because due to the bench being thinner your torso could tilt on way or the other. I recommend that this gym get some wider benches.
Second: the elliptical machines are not built for tall people or people with long legs. And now mind you I am not that tall at 6’1 but the elliptical if not looking out could crush your knees and send you on another big injury. There is just not enough clearance at the knee area when using the machine.

Avoid if you are over 5’11, have long legs or are bigger.

As a note: Gold’s right across the street does not have this issue on either of the two above mentioned issues.

Concern Regarding Unhealthy Nutrition Advice in Fitness Program

I want to express my concern regarding a recurring issue I have noticed in your 6- to 8-week fitness program. I have participated in this program multiple times and appreciate the supportive environment it aims to create. However, I have serious concerns about one of your trainers and the messages she is promoting about nutrition and weight loss.

Unfortunately, she has repeatedly promoted dangerously rapid weight loss strategies, which could have harmful consequences for class participants.

On multiple occasions, she has shared that some of her clients have lost **10 pounds in a week**. Today during class, she stated that she had recently completed an **88-hour fast** and lost **8 pounds** as a result. As a social worker, I find this horrifying. Promoting extreme fasting and rapid weight loss, particularly in a gym setting where individuals may already be struggling with body image or their relationship with food, is highly irresponsible. While she may follow up these comments with laughter and vague mentions of doctors, I have a hard time believing that any medical professional would recommend such an extreme fasting period. Even if this is something she personally chooses to do, it is inappropriate to promote in a general fitness class.

Research has shown that extreme dieting and fasting can significantly increase the risk of developing eating disorders, particularly among individuals who already struggle with body image concerns. According to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), plenty of people who engage in extreme dieting develop a clinical eating disorder. Furthermore, fasting for extended periods can lead to muscle loss, slowed metabolism, heart complications, and electrolyte imbalances, all of which pose serious health risks, especially for older adults (which appears to be a large portion of these class participants).

I strongly urge the gym to address this issue with their team and ensure that all trainers are promoting safe, evidence-based nutrition and fitness practices. Encouraging healthy, sustainable habits should be the priority, rather than reinforcing harmful dieting behaviors that could negatively impact the physical and mental health of participants.

And trust me, I get it, this is her life and it has no impact on me. She’s not holding a gun to anyone’s head, forcing them to follow her dietary restrictions. I used to weigh 300 pounds and remember every trick in the book for the eating disorders. I got all the way down to 140 pounds. While I weighed less than half of my original weight, I was sicker than I had ever been in my life. It’s just sad to see how normalized these disordered eating patterns are. I hope trainers have loving and caring support systems.

I’m really impressed! The staff was super welcoming and friendly, and they gave me a quick tour of the facility right after I signed up, which made me feel even more comfortable. I’ve visited other gyms in the area, and this one is by far the best I’ve been to. The gym is spacious, clean, and has a great selection of equipment. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Once I joined the Crunch fitness club, I got a personal trainer for two months. Her name is Vaughn. She did such a wonderful job with my workouts twice a week. Not only did she target the exercises for my goals, she was also very knowledgeable about Which areas of my body would be affected and how I should be feeling. She gave me lots of clues and tips for things to do at home. Every time I left the gym I felt wonderful.
The crunch gym is a friendly place and I feel very comfortable as a beginner, even among Folks that have been there a long time and are much stronger. As a senior, I truly value feeling like part of the group and not being criticized.

Best gym I've belonged to! I must admit the hydromassage chairs sold me initially. What a great, quick way to massage your muscles after a workout to help reduce soreness! What keeps me going regularly are the trainers, Christina McDonald and Ken Francis. Both have a vested interest in my health journey. They are motivating, hold me accountable, and really listen to my concerns and goals. I have been more successfull working with them than by myself. I think overall this gym is clean and it's rare for a machine to be in repair/not working. I can't speak to the classes as I typically stick to the cardio machines and weights.

I was attempting to sign up online with another location. When I went to the location I thought I signed up to, they informed me that I had signed up to the wrong location. I received a call from this location to setup an appointment to go to the gym and I had told them I wanted to cancel because it wasn’t the one I was planning to go to. I was told by the manager that my account was in process to be canceled. That was 2 months ago. As I was going through bank statements I realized that I have been charged 2 months for the membership along with the annual maintenance fee. I attempted to talk to the manager but they didn’t speak to me and relayed their message to the person that had answered the phone. They canceled my membership but will not refund me the charges. I read their policy and it says that I need proof of my cancellation request. Unfortunately I don’t have proof since it was a verbal request over the phone.

Good gym but they have the NASTIEST restrooms. I don’t understand if they making a lot of money they really need to put attention to the women’s restrooms. I avoid going to the restroom at all cost and is hard when you are working out and drinking a lot of water you can see at the top the restroom has been not clean for a while and with nasty smells always!!
Maybe get more cleaning personal? instead of so many “trainers” running everywhere

Decided to get back into shape. My bros recommended me to this gym. So got gym membership as well as my brother. I did not get a trainer, but my brother did and the people that signed him up signed him up under my account, and not his. So now his charges for the trainer is going to my account instead of his. Now my account is getting charged for his trainer couses. Ive tryed to get it resolved at the gym always same thing its above there position even managers. I was told that if the payment was not resolved that in 90 days it goes to collections. Which I believe is not right, because I never agreed to a personal trainer nor signed for a personal trainer. The trainer Joseph and Christiana who signed him up for the personal trainer told him they did it under my account but didn't correct it, because they thought I would be signing up for a trainer too after I had told them I would not be. I have been to the gym 2 times talked to Taylor and Brian. I mention to them that if they check our signature on our initial sign up, and his trainer sign up it is different. They both said it can't do nothing. So I've reached out to both emails provided, and yet have any one responded to me. Bad experience

Don’t go to this gym. They say one thing about the membership but end up charging different amounts. They took advantage of someone who came for a one-month visit to Austin and charged her over 300 dollars. When I went there to talk to the manager, he denied that one of the employees set up the entire membership without the customer’s knowledge.

Bottom line, it’s a scam! I don’t recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been a crunch member for at least a year now. Today, I had the WORST experience! I immediately canceled my membership after this incident. I will never return! I was on an arm machine as I normally use, in between sets I take a minute or 2 to rest as people normally do. Today, as I was looking down to change a song on my play list a man rudely approaches me and starts waving his face in my face. I was startled and I asked him “can I help you, sir?” He rudely asks “are you going to play on your phone? Or work out?” I responded “if it’s any of your business I’m taking a break in between my sets, so you can come back”. He walks off muffling something and then proceeds to approach me again and gets in my face stating “you need to learn how to have some respect!” At this point my head phones fly off and I’m pissed! How dare of him to talk to me in such manner?!?! How about you be patient!? I was literally on this machine for 8 mins. The rude guy goes to complain. Next, the manager Rick Trevino approaches me and tells me in a nut shell that I need to keep moving machines while working out . I’m sorry, what? I give him a peace of my mind about the situation. Everyone does their own thing and crunch has plenty of machines. I was so upset I immediately got up, grabbed my workout bag and cancel my membership. DO NOT get a membership at Crunch if you are looking for a new gym. I’ll be damned if another gym member is going to be rude and disrespectful to me and then the manager takes his side.

I joined when the club first opened and it has since become so overcrowded the gym is unusable. As with other mediocre gyms in the area they will ask that you come in person to cancel your membership (blatant violation of the FTC’s click-to-cancel rule). Some unsolicited advice - try creating a product worth your membership fees instead of locking unhappy members into contracts by making it unnecessarily difficult to cancel. For the sake of my sanity, I will likely go in person to cancel, but undoubtedly will be filing a complain with the FTC on principle.

Gym sucks and has gone way downhill

Overcrowded and people are running around spraying hazardous cleaning chemicals every minute and don't even bother turning on the fans anymore. They could easily get wet wipes to sanitize equipment after use instead of spray.

Alot of the equipment also doesn't work probably anymore (needs calibration).

The hazardous cleaning chemicals sprayed in the air every minute will create long term health issues. Im done coming here

So far, I like it but have a couple of issues:
1. There is no restroom upstairs. If I am in the middle of doing cardio or a class, you have to go all the way downstairs.
2. People seem to hog weight machines for excessive amounts of time. Typically pausing for some time between multiple sets.

Been coming here since it opened. And there is a major overcrowding problem, 4-8pm don’t even think about it. This gym is best bang for your buck if you wait in line for most equipment. If there was fire, people would get trampled. Boys locker room smells so bad you could walk by and faint. Parking lot is big yet packed. Again it doesn’t matter how good the gym is, if it’s overcrowded.

Staff is great. The facility is decent but cramped and often loud from microphoned classes that take place right in the main room 😑

The website says there’s an infrared sauna, but there’s not. What they do have are a traditional dry sauna right in the locker room (love it) and red light pods in the wellness area near the front. There are ten minute massage beds and tanning beds there as well. I got the membership for the wellness aspect more than the weights, but I found myself reluctant/uninspired to go because of the noise and the mediocrity of my main draws, which are the red light, sauna and massage.

Spoke to a manager named Ryan about a charge that was billed incorrectly to my account, causing an insufficient funds fee. He credited a portion of what was charged incorrectly to the account with Crunch. When I asked for a letter that I needed to provide to my institution in order to get the NSF fee refunded (which is a lot more than the amount they credited to only my crunch account), I was simply told he did not have enough time for me because there were back to back interviews needing to be dealt with. I took time out of my LUNCH break to deal with something that wasn’t my fault, and they could not provide a simple letter stating they had charged me incorrectly.

This was a great gym until the showers started going under construction. I drive 30min into town and cannot shower at the gym because they’ve been under construction.

So this is upsetting. As soon as the men's showers get finished, they switch us to the women's bathrooms which have showers that are under construction. This is unacceptable. The men have already had to go almost 2 months without showers, now we won't have access to the showers until next year, while the women remain unaffected by the shower construction.
Thinking of pausing my membership for a few months until construction is complete because after driving 30min into town from Cedar Creek, I have no place to shower.

2 stars since the equipment is brand new and the staff is really sweet and welcoming. I joined this gym because I used to go to Crunch round rock when I lived up north and loved it.

I’ll start by saying this gym is crawling with people. Many times I go in and not a single machine out of my 6 exercises are open. Workouts become much longer and it’s hard to break a sweat when you’re waiting so long for the machines you need. There are times you’re waiting for a machine for someone’s full exercise and someone else will jump in front of you to get on the machine, no shame at all. I’ve often left the gym without finishing my exercises because I don’t have enough time to wait around.

The gym ethic here is very poor. People often don’t wipe down their machines or re-rack weights. There’s trash always lying around. People will leave their things at one machine and switch off sets between another while people are clearly waiting for both machines. I’ve had people interrupt my set to ask when I’m going to be done. When people are waiting for the machine they’ll stand right next to you and stare.

The paper towels are always empty or broken, the spray bottles are often empty. So the machines can’t be that clean.

The red lights beds are almost never clean and ready to go, and that’s if one is even available. If they are available they’ll ask you to wait while they clean it. I think providing spray and towels in the rooms could alleviate this issue.

There was a homeless woman that showered here, clipped her toenails and shaved her dead skin onto the locker room floor and didn’t clean it up. She left her dirty clothes just lying on the bench. Low prices will bring these sort of things in.

All in all it was a stressful experience. You obviously can’t expect luxury at these price points but I think they definitely over sold the memberships here and may be having a difficult time keeping up. You definitely can’t just get in and get out for a workout here. Maybe when the “newness” of the gym dies down.

TLDR: I cancelled my membership and they continued to charge me hundreds because they are scammers.

Don’t waste your time or money on any of their promotions or deals. That is how they seemingly make most of their money. They offered me a “free” body scan and a “month” of a gym membership and I ended up with a Personal Trainer for a transformation challenge for about 3 months.

Little did I know, I was dealing with scammers here because 1 month in, I had to move out of state, so I went in to cancel my membership with them. 2 months later, I’m still being charged hundreds of dollars and when asked why I’m still continuously being charged, they mentioned that while I had cancelled my gym membership, I never cancelled my personal training.

I MOVED OUT OF STATE! I cancelled my membership thinking it would apply to everything but apparently not according to these scammers. How would I logically live out of state and still show up for personal training?!

Even worse, they could’ve told me that I would have to cancel my personal training separately but they decided not to, in order to continually still make money off of me.

Overall, avoid these promotions and deals. These people are scammers.

I want to mention Dillon (I hope I spelled his name correctly) - he gave us a very informative yet non-salesperson aggressive type of gym tour. He asked all appropriate questions to make sure we can get the best of what the gym could offer.
The gym looks great-clean, working equipment (a lot of it actually!).
It is crowded although we visited during the peak hour, so no surprise.
Giving it 4 stars just because I haven’t had a chance to workout there, not sure how long it takes to wait for the equipment. I do have to admit, that there is a great variety of all types of weights, racks and machines.

UPD. It’s been almost a month since I joined. I’m enjoying my workouts. The equipment is clean most of the time (rare exception), the staff is polite, the gym ethics is in place. Lots of space to workout with free weights, HIIT, stretching.
Yes, it is crowded. But in a manageable way.

Overall the gym is pretty decent. I mainly came here for the daycare, Ms. Debbie is amazing with the kids she makes sure that we get our workout no matter what! I could give her 5 stars all day. But unfortunately the other staff that does daycare doesn't quite meet the qualities that Ms. Debbie has, she comes there like she loves her job and the other not even close they don't interact with the children they call for any little things. When ms Debbie is not there I can NEVER get a good workout. In other words consider hiring people who love interacting with kids and they are not just forcefully there. If you want to come here just to workout it’s fine. I highly recommend you don’t spend extra money entering any of their contests or challenges.

I paid $99 to enter their 8 week transformation challenge and another $520 on personal training sessions to assist in trying to win the challenge. They failed to record my initial physical measurements and lost my before photos.

Nobody said anything about my missing data until 8 weeks later at the final weigh in at which point it was too late to capture that data which was part of determining the winner. They still had my body scans that were logged in and were objectively better than the results of the person they declared the winner. I lost 26 lbs, nearly 10% body fat and added 9 lbs of lean muscle and gave the award to someone who lost 24 lbs, 6% body fat and added barely any lean muscle. I believe they congratulated him for not losing any muscle. It really wasn’t even close but the manager said “the team” made a “subjective” decision on the winner that basically ignored the data and he that his team has his full trust to do so.

The management response was to gaslight me about it when I talked to them. If you’re just looking for a cheap gym where you can get a workout in and leave it might be the place for you. I would highly discourage you from giving them any extra money for personal training, competitions, supplements or anything else extra they try to sell you on. If they make an error and screw you over they will just pass the buck to “the team”

Honestly, I’m thinking about cancelling my membership, and finding a new gym. The gym is always packed (mornings too) but even worse after 5pm. Since the gym is always packed, I usually find a little area/corner to workout out in but today me and the 5pm folks who use the turf were told that there was a class happening at 6:15pm. The other turf was closed off for some “transformation challenge” so a lot of us weren’t able to utilize the second turf. Why are there always classes on the turf after 5pm everyday knowing the gym is crowded, and people like me want to get a good workout in still without having to wait for machines/equipment. Secondly, the trainer with long dreads who is also a group exercise instructor is so rude. This gym has a group exercise room but CRUNCH think it’s okay to block off the turf to have classes downstairs while it’s loud from the instructor and the music. This is totally not fair to people because now we are forced to wait an hour or so to use that area.

The restroom is another pet peeve of mine. As a previous member of 24 hour fitness at William Cannon, why did yall keep the same layout as 24 for the men and women locker rooms???! You guys seriously cannot be that cheap. It does NOT match the aesthetics of the gym and it actually looks very old in there, let alone it’s not always sanitized or cleaned well. Other crunch gyms locker rooms especially the ones I saw in Dallas when I went to visit look very nice and matches the rest of the gym.

If you read this review all the way to the end, please do yourself a favor and find a better gym. Just don’t go to LA Fitness because it’s worse there….
