Great place to climb and train, nice facility, however most of the staff needs to learn basic customer service and communication skills. Bad attitudes and not welcoming. Wish they improve.

I visited with my 7 yr old grandson a few times during summer break. He loved it. I ended up getting a membership for myself. I've been attending morning fitness classes and using the sauna with an occasional climb in between. I like how spread out it is and all the different levels of climbs available. Seems to be pretty community oriented (climbing community that is) and people of all ages around. It also includes multiple climbing options: free-climb bouldering, belaying, and auto-belay. I've mentioned it to a few friends and neighbors who also plan to join.

We had such a wonderful experience at Crux every time we came! The facilities are great, but what really stood out was the customer service. Our family ran into a small issue with the kids play area during one of our visits, and Georgie went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. He was kind, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. It’s rare to find staff who care so much about creating a positive experience, and Georgie absolutely did that for us. Thanks to him, our kids left with big smiles, and so did we. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Crux to friends and family and we already booked the space for my son's birthday party!

Good for adults, but wouldn’t recommend bringing kids here on the weekend. If there happens to be a birthday party they kick all kids that aren’t part of the birthday party out of the kids room. This has happened to us twice. They try to usher you out early too. Feels very awkward. They should have a separate party room like ABP if they want exclusive birthday parties.

My wife and I took the beginner class to get our feet wet and wound signing up for a membership. Hayley is an amazing instructor and quickly made us feel comfortable and learning quickly! The facility is amazing with great walls and great fitness equipment. The staff is super friendly and the vibe is great.

Very friendly people. I think it's Katharine, she is a sweetheart.
Needs more auto belays.
The pods are always occupied by the same people. I come in the mornings on weekdays and always the same people in the same pods. Think they live there.
Plus there is loud music playing elsewhere so you can never take a call in there.
So, in reality, there are no pods or any quiet places.
I take calls from the car and their Wi-Fi works in the parking lot, some bright side.

Overall, a great place to climb or work out.
Two ways it could be better:
1- Set A/C a bit cooler. Gets steamy, especially on the top rope routes.
2- Keep floors and other surfaces cleaner. Especially in the fitness rooms, the floors are often not wet-mopped for several days at a time. As people walk around and throw down mats, all that chalk, street dirt, and hair gets churned up into the air and into our lungs.
Thank you!!

Amazing place. Was built around a year ago but still looks brand new. The employees are amazingly friendly, and the prices aren’t that bad for a climbing gym this good. The people that go there regularly are really friendly and fun to climb with. Not only is it a climbing gym, but it also has a workout gym, study lockers, and a ping pong table. It’s an amazing place to hangout on an empty day.

What an amazing facility! Good mix of bouldering and rope climbing. The only gym that I know of in the area that has autobelay! They have 3 individual study rooms (with an adjustable standing desk!) and 1 bigger study room. You can still hear the gym music inside but it’s pretty muffled. And also I really appreciate the small things like having the good tp (none of that thin commercial stuff) haha. I had an amazing time climbing and studying here. If it were closer to me I’d come all the time!

I have gone once before and my grandson who is 5 had a great time. But we went last weekend and I went around 2 pm. I paid for him to go in they asked if I was part of the birthday party and stated no. I paid and then we went to the children's room and was in there less than 10 minutes and a woman came rudely and stated that it was reserved for a birthday party. I had no clue. I told her I was unaware the room was closed to the public. When we paid they did not state to us that the room was unavailable. I would of come back another day or time. We were about to get rock climb and the worker had already attached my grandson to the ropes and he quickly took it off and stated we needed to leave. I told him since he is already to climb can he go up and down real quick. He never reaches the top. He just goes half way. But he stated no. He stated he can try the outside rock climbing. But he is not comfortable with the bigger ones. I proceeded to the desk to request a refund. The guy could not refund me. He also stated that if i would have looked online that it states there that the room is booked for private events. I have never looked on their website. I told him that when I paid and told them that I was not part of the party that they should of told me then that the room was closed for a birthday party. I would have come back another time. But that a horrible experience. Please tell people that the room is closed to public!!!

This is an awesome climbing gym. It is smartly set for the area climbers. Lots for beginners and first timers to do. Plenty of auto belays and very nice area for parties and kids. Rating system might bring chuckles from visiting climbers but it’s better than ratings fights. Nobody can really argue that a raccoon isn’t like other raccoons at other gyms.
I would highly recommend this gym if you anywhere near this area. The staff was supper awesome and friendly to visitors

Great location! The coffee shop/tap room next door is very cute, and they seem to have a fried chicken food truck that camps in the lot as well. Tons of hangout space indoor and outdoor. Always clean bathrooms. Rates are reasonable! I only wish there were more auto belay routes.

Joined to try bouldering and stayed for the yoga. Nothing wrong with the climbing, just lower on my personal hobby list. Highly recommend the climbing and yoga here. There's a gym with crossfit equipment and workout classes. Also, I love that there's a sauna and towels (looking forward to that new sauna controller). Staff is always very friendly and helpful.

My husband and our six-year-old daughter have been coming here since last month, and they both absolutely love this place. There are plenty of workout options for all ages and skill levels, making it a great fit for our family. I signed up today, and Dakota at the front desk was fantastic—polite, patient, and incredibly helpful.
Since I haven’t climbed much before, I was nervous about trying it on my own. Dakota took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt confident before I started. His support made all the difference!
The gym is well-maintained and uses top-quality equipment from reputable brands like Rogue, which adds to the overall experience. I’m excited to start this journey, challenge myself, and make this a regular part of my routine!

Great, new climbing gym serving the north Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Hutto area. Tons of bouldering and lead climbing with good auto-belayed top roping options too. They've got a speed climbing route and a few crack climbing routes as well. Upstairs, they've got a MoonBoard and other climbing specific training equipment, and downstairs, they've got a full weight gym with tons of dumbbells, plates, squat racks, bench racks, cardio machines, etc. There's also an upstairs area with a yoga studio and a few rooms that you can reserve as remote work spots, as well as a seating area with couches and some chairs if those rooms are already reserved. Tons of lockers for your stuff both in and outside of the restrooms. The sauna is a nice amenity, though they're working through some trouble with it at the moment. Kids area is great as well with fun routes (about half a dozen autobelay top roping routes, as well as bouldering). It's truly a great gym overall and worth the cost if you're looking to climb regularly.

I was here Saturday introducing some friends to climbing. I was belaying one of them when an old man (that I assume works there) got in my face to ask me if I was belay certified. I said yes, but he continued to distract me by demanding to see the tag, WHILE I’m belaying my climber. This employee needs a lesson in safety and etiquette.
This gym has only half of the routes set up for TR. This cuts the amount of climbing you can do on TR in half. They also force you to use ATC for tests. Once you pass, you’re free to use your GriGri (lol?).
I’m glad I had the interaction on Saturday. We’ll be canceling our memberships and taking our friends with us back to Mesa Rim. A superior climbing gym in every regard.

Probably the best bouldering gym I've ever been too, the staff are so nice and accommodating, the holds are nice and the routes are super fun. The grading scale goes from VB to V11+ so there's something for everyone, the gym is brand new and super fancy, there's a small weights area, kilter board, and even sound proof rooms for remote work. There's also a huge area for lead climbing as well as top rope with auto belays and some manual belays, they offer a free class to get belay certified if you aren't already. They also have a small crack climbing wall.
Definitely recommend to anyone!!

Across my years of indoor climbing gyms in various locations, I've never had a negative experience with any gym staff.
Just tried the day pass at this gym and the girl at the front desk with the pink cowboy hat was rude. I simply asked where to return the rental shoes, and mistakenly put a towel in a basket (labeled "return dirty laundry") and was confronted by her with a nasty attitude.

The workout space is very nice, tons of room. Upstairs are the fingerboards with moon, tensions and kilter boards, work and community spaces along with the yoga classes. Very impressed with the variety of training options. The kids area is also a lot bigger than any of the other facilities. Restrooms and storage are 10/10, this one also has the sauna. I've been a member at Crux for a little over 2.5 years, and couldn't WAIT for the Pflugerville location to open. I've only managed to visit twice so far, but it's definitely worth the extra drive. I thought Crux couldn't get any better, but somehow, with this spot, they achieved perfection. From the yoga studio with the giant windows and a great view, to a huge fitness space, to the combo ropes/bouldering area - it's better than I imagined. Unlike some of the other gyms in town, it's really nice that the rope climbing and bouldering share a space, because some of my buddies only do one or the other - so it's great that we can socialize and root for each other in the same general area despite our preferences.
Some of the same great folks and spirit as the other two locations, just newer, fresher, and maybe a bit more challenging *but in a good way!*
Check out their yoga and fitness classes - I can definitely vouch for Audrey, Jennifer, and Valerie - can't wait to try more instructors here! Looking forward to climbing here for years to come.

We have been waiting for Crux to open. And it came just in time, our 5 year old is really into climbing everything right now so we wanted to be able do that is a safe way, and Crux provided that.
While the kids area is not open yet, there is still a ton for the littles to do. The staff is super accommodating and kind. Amenities are great! I would recommend it for those with little ones interested in climbing anything and everything. This is place to do it in a safe way. This is one of the nicest climbing gyms I’ve ever been to. There’s literally nothing I can imagine they don’t have. It’s an incredible space. They have lead climbing, top rope and auto belay routes ranging from 40-60ft high. They have a huge bouldering area, finger boards, kilter board (adjustable), a moon board. They have an area to lift weight, closed meeting/work spaces, community areas, a giant kids room. They have an area for fitness classes, yoga classes, locker rooms, showers, sauna. They have a coffee shop, food truck. They even have walls for crack climbing, speed climbing. Everything you could think of. I’m so glad they have this in my area.

Having been a member of Crux since they first opened its been impressive to see how much more mature the franchise has become over the last 8 years. Crux Pflugerville is their biggest and best offering yet. Kevin, Grace, Ben, and the rest of the Crux team seemingly spared no expense in bringing this place to life, and even though it's still not fully finished it already feels like it is the climbing gym that they always wanted to build. Even if it's not, it's the one I've always wanted to climb at.
Tall walls with a variety of angles, top rope, lead, autobelay, crack climbing, a regulation speed wall, tons of bouldering with a huge selection of angles and brand new holds. Not to mention the dedicated training area, the weight room, a large kids room completely closed off from the rest of the gym to keep the rowdieness (and the fun) contained. A large yoga studio, bathrooms with showers and saunas, dedicated office space (just like the phone rooms you see in most modern office buildings) and even a small meeting room rounds out the amenities. Of course right outside you'll find a food truck and soon to be open a new spokesman coffee shop, means this place won't be lacking for after climbing hangouts either.
If none of that convinces you that this gym is what you've been looking for then don't forget that a membership here currently gets you access to all 3 Crux gyms, giving you access to the largest selection of climbing gyms in the city.
