Dwayne is a complete con artist. Charged me $400 for a diet that consisted of eggs, tuna fish, protein powder. Didnt take my measurements. Didnt take my body measurements. Didnt do anything. Wishing I had that $400 back.

After reading all the reviews,
I can only give an update that the previous evaluations are still accurate. Dwayne has been my trainer for several years. My only regret is that I did not start with him years ago. : )

In 2019 I had knee pain while marathon training that was hindering my progress. Dwayne showed me exercises to help strengthen my knees and, ultimately, because of his advice I was able to finish my most recent marathon (11/14/20) in a personal best time. I have been training with Dwayne for over ten years now. He is very motivating and has helped to keep me focused on my health and well being over many years; gotten me in shape for a wedding; and helped to get me back in shape after having both my children. In short, Dwayne is awesome, and I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

I have gone to gyms for 30 years and never felt like it really helped at all. But I felt satisfied because at least I showed up. Recently I committed to working with a nutritionist and a diet and lost 30+ pounds. Dwayne was recommended as someone who could help me get used to my new body, work around the back pain that was a side effect, and would help me overcome the bad gym routines I was stuck in.
Dwayne has helped me not just feel better, look better, sync my mind and body better, eat better, and perform exercises I never thought I could do...but working with him has boosted my self-confidence and self-esteem. Being blind in one eye I had learned to stay away from free weights after a few accidents, but Dwayne taught me different ways to judge distance and create movements from memory rather than vision. My vision also causes some balance issues and every session he incorporates 2 or 3 things to improve my balance while working certain muscles. He never laughs when I start to fall or wobble, (unless I laugh first). Dwayne has been able to create exercises and movement that still work my whole body but never add to my back pain, which has all but disappeared since I started with him.
Every once in a while he reminds me that a month or so prior to doing something, that I had tried it before and couldn't do it. There are exercises and movements that he demonstrates for me and I just know I can't do it. I try and my body just doesn't cooperate. Dwayne is patient and supportive and eventually I am doing things I've seen other people do, but were never on my radar for me. He believes I can do things that I don't think I can. Sometimes I think he secretly hypnotizes me. Since he has a different routine every session, I look forward to going every time.
Without reservation I'd recommend him as a trainer, a teacher, and a nutritionist. His dance moves and jokes are also enjoyable. I haven't felt this comfortable in a gym, my clothes, or my body in ages. And the ROG is great.

“I’ve been a client of Dwayne’s now for a little over two years. Aside from knowing Dwayne for quite a while as a friend, I went to him for help in continuing my recovery from a life changing injury. In the years prior, I had an opportunity to watch Dwayne train other clients…and noticed an aspect of his training sessions I found rare if even non-existent in other trainers I had observed or hired in the past – and that was the fact that EVERY training session was different. Many trainers have a standard set up exercise for various parts of the body, resulting in each training session being a repeat of the last with the emphasis on more weight, more reps and (gasp) putting the same exercises in a different order. Not so with Dwayne whose constantly varying training sessions I knew were what I needed to keep challenging myself, keep progressing and to stay interested since all of my exercise sessions involve a level of pain that most people would use to avoid their exercise routine. So I started training with him…and found my observations were indeed correct. No workout is ever the same as the last. And while I sometimes think he stays up late at night just to conceive of new movements or exercises to challenge me and entertain him (ha!), it is the variety and even the good natured humor he uses to keep me coming back and continuing my slow improvement over time. I know I’ll never be back to where I was physically before the injury, but I know that his training, encouragement and humor are the reason I’m still enjoying a quality of life and physical activity that are SO much better than if I had never become his client. If you are looking not just for a “good” trainer but a GREAT one, you can’t do any better than Dwayne.”

Dwayne is the best. Keeps your exercising goal oriented and age and condition appropriate. Equally important, he is able to keep your workouts fresh by changing things up each time helping you to keep at it and dare I say actually enjoy your sessions. Professionally speaking he is well trained and certified. Dwayne is also an exceptionally personable individual with a great sense of humor and capable of great conversation on a myriad of topics.

DcooksonFitness is the real-deal. Dwayne is professional, personable, reliable, & likable. Dwayne concentrates on YOU - what you need to improve your fitness. When training, YOU are his focus. Dwayne watches & corrects your form so that you receive the maximum benefits from the training sessions. But this is not to imply that the sessions are all work & no play - you will laugh a lot because Dwayne is funny as well as smart. Do yourself a favor & schedule an appointment with Dwayne. You’ll see that DcooksonFitness is the fitness training that you need.
