Del Sol Kung Fu is a sacred space like no other. You will learn discipline, self control, and self defense. I’ve been with Sifu Thomas for years, and so has my eight year old daughter. The kids class teaches self confidence, attention span, and self awareness. The adult classes teach that and more. Whether you’re looking for self care or to become a martial arts master, this is the right place to be.

Del Sol Yoga & Kung Fu is an amazing place. Both of my children and I have been training there under Sifu Leverett for several years. It is a warm and welcoming family where we learn to trust ourselves. The training is traditional, fun, challenging and thorough. It builds up so many positive qualities and life skills, even in a grown adult like me. I think everybody should try Kung Fu, and highly recommend Del Sol for anybody trying Kung Fu.

Since I started training with Sifu Leverett, I've become significantly more comfortable and confident in myself, I've been able to handle extreme stress in both the workplace and personal life with calm and grace, I've had to buy smaller pants, I've averted having to take blood pressure medication, and I am happy with who I am today. Learning Kung Fu feels like a super-power, but not the "I'm so strong" kind; more the "I can do it" kind.

I have been going to Del Sol for over 4 years for Kung Fu and just recently added in yoga. Thomas and Claudia have created a supportive community in a stunningly beautiful location to challenge ourselves physically and mentally. Del Sol is a place for mindful reflection and meditation as well as a place of play. The spaces are gorgeous and open with tranquil views of the hill country. We have seen deer, hawks, other birds enjoying the property with us. The water fountain and light in the space create such a positive energy.

Miss Faye is THE BEST!! We highly recommend the kids yoga at Del Sol 🤩 My four and six year-old love the Saturday morning class and attended 2 of her yoga camps this summer. They are all smiles!! Miss Faye always has fun activities, games, dance and super cute crafts for the kids .. in addition to introducing yoga and meditation to them in a fun, playful and mindful way. We have known Miss Faye for a few years and just adore her. She is always smiling and radiates positive, warm energy. She connects with the kids on a special level. She is all heart and soul!! Thank you for being amazing!!!

A clean and friendly studio. Heidi's class is one of the best I have ever taken. (I have been practicing 20 years) She kept an excellent "flow" pace, not too slow or speedy. Her cues were excellent, as were her demonstration of poses. She seemed to know everyone by name, including myself, and it was my first class at this studio. I will definitely be back.

The yoga classes at Del Sol are nothing short of fantastic. Locally owned and operated, Thomas and Claudia provide unique yoga practices you won't find anywhere else in Austin (or possibly anywhere in Texas). Each teacher provides options for adjusting the posture to your individual level with opportunities for making your practice as easy or as challenging as you need. Proper breathing techniques are explained and incorporated into each movement rather than just being told to "breathe" once you arrive in a pose. New yogis and advanced yogis alike won't be disappointed at Del Sol. And, they now offer each of their classes online so that you can practice when it is convenient for you from ANYWHERE! Thomas & Claudia have a special way of making your practice relevant for our ever-changing world.

The Yoga Teacher Training is authentic and exceptional.

They also offer Kung Fu classes (coming to online soon) as well as other workshops and events.

This is THEE PLACE for the HOTTEST yoga you will find in Austin!

I did teacher training with Claudia and Thomas and had a genuine and challenging experience. They both bring a unique perspective and style to the training and compliment each other very well. The summer intensive program was ideal for my schedule and I could not have asked for a more responsive and caring attitude from them from beginning to end.
Also, Temple on Sundays is easily my favorite group yoga experience by far! Check it out!

My husband has attended yoga with Claudia twice a week the last two years and since is very first day (as a skeptic), he has hardly missed a session. He is the last person I would ever have expected to even try yoga but Claudia and the experienced participants enthusiastically welcomed him at his level (i.e., doubtful beginner) and now he's one of the fit and flexible regulars.

Attended a yoga class at Del Sol last Sunday. It was by far the hardest, most rewarding yoga class I’ve ever done. The class challenged and inspired me. I don’t do yoga regularly, but not one minute did I feel out of place—I knew I was right where I was supposed to be. After the class, I found myself repeating many of the mantras Claudia, the yogi instructor repeated during class. My favorite was, “Fear and pain are the greatest teachers.” I cannot wait to go back.

Such an amazing place! We first discovered Del Sol through kung fu with my son. He has been coming here for 5+ years and the instruction, care and guidance he has received from Thomas and the other teachers has been amazing. I began taking yoga classes there not too long after he started kung fu and my mind was blown. This is not your average yoga studio and these aren’t your average classes. Hot, heart-filled, introspective, and fun classes set to awesome tunes and infused with huge amounts of love. As they say “All hearts welcome” and they mean it. Thomas and Claudia have put their all into Del Sol and it shows. ❤️❤️❤️ Oh, and Temple. Go to Temple on Sundays at 11:00 if you want your world rocked!

Del Sol is more than a kung fu and yoga studio, it is a family. My son has been taking Kung Fu here for 3+ years and it has helped him in so many ways. He has grown tremendously as an athlete but also as a person in this process and has gained so much confidence, maturity, and resilience from the lessons, which also include meditation and character building. Physically, he is stronger, more agile, and has improved coordination, which definitely transfer to the other sports he plays. My husband and I both attend yoga here as well and they have THE best yoga instructors in Austin. Cannot even capture how much I love this place in words and what it’s done for our family. Thomas and Claudia are the best at what they do.

I have practiced yoga 13 years and completed a 200 hour training 10 years ago in San Antonio, Texas. I enjoyed my first training, but I never felt I had what I needed to begin teaching. Four years ago, I joined a studio in Austin, Texas where I first met Claudia and Thomas. Being introduced to their style of yoga sparked a deeper passion for yoga. Soon after, they left that studio to dedicate their time to their own studio. The next three years, I tried a yoga class at nearly every studio in Austin essentially “interviewing” where to revisit a 200 hour training. I found a studio with a reputable name and was days away from signing up. Before I did, I decided to visit Del Sol for the first time to see what Claudia and Thomas had been up to. I walked in and immediately felt I found my home. The energy of the space vibrates at a higher level than any studio I have ever been to. I have never been greeted with such community from strangers. I wanted to be a part of all Del Sol had to offer, so immediately signed up for Del Sol’s next 200 hour training. I am so glad I did.

I went through Del Sol's 200 hour six week intensive. The lectures are on another level. We dove deep into the various levels of the goal of yoga, from its history and ancient teachings to how its effectiveness is being validated through modern/western science. The asana foundation of our training was in Ashtanga, and learned to teach that before we moved on to Hot Vinyasa, Slowburn, and Yin. We also practiced anapana meditation daily and I can’t imagine teaching yoga without a deeper understanding of anapana meditation and it’s benefits.

I am most grateful for Del Sol’s approach to anatomy and assisting. They thoroughly taught us (through discussion, various diagrams, and videos) that every person is built differently. Ever person has also has their own story from injuries, surgeries, habits, etc., meaning no posture will ever look the same on two people. Teaching only from the way something looks can create new mental-physical imbalances in someone, especially students new to yoga. This brought about a different approach to how we lead a class: we queue an action rather than the name of the pose and without modeling. Their studios lack mirrors so we aren’t tempted to compare or impose expectations on ourselves. Our Slowburn module was even done blindfolded. We practiced yoga blindfolded and learned to teach yoga to a group of beginners while they were blindfolded. Practicing in this way was life changing. Removing the barrier of vision brought the practice further inward, and to my surprise, my asana practice rapidly progressed; I actually did a forearm stand and handstand for the very first time, and I happened to be blindfolded. Being able to fully grasp how to feel movement, rather than mirroring what something looked like, has changed my practice forever and has made me a better and more compassionate teacher. My teaching foundation is now based on sensation. How to queue and guide someone through movement, directing energy, and through the sensations that arise. This means I will be able to teach to anyone, at any level of yoga or with any mind-body-soul limitation to find healing in a sacred space. This is vastly different from today’s prevent and potentially damaging “instagram” mentality where chasing a beautiful pose is the goal. Thirteen years of yoga has helped my body untwist from painful scoliosis. My postures looked far from perfect on day one and some are still far from what some would call "proper form” visually, but yoga is a tool that has brought about better posture. The journey, not the goal. Yoga teachers elsewhere, even recently, criticized my asymmetry. I am grateful to have a strong foundation in anatomy so I will never make anyone feel like other teachers have made me feel.

Del Sol taught me how, with the right formula and teacher, yoga is the ultimate bio-hack that’s thousands of years old. Two months later, I am humbled to have already taught yoga to beginners at two retreats with great feedback.
