My daughter likes this place and has started practicing gymnastics here. The staff is friendly and supportive. One suggestion though — it would be great to have a bit more focus on cleanliness.

My daughter has been at DGA for almost 15 years. She was two years old when she began with Coach Rodica..
DGA is her home away from home and I am so grateful to these coaches for helping mold her into the gymnast and person she is today.

dga was a good place. but sometimes the coaches are a little too harsh yes we do need that strong push but not to the point that the gymnast cries at that point It's not ok and when your gymnast is trying their best and they fall its dose not mean you have to punish them they are trying their best so when they fall you can just give them some stuff that can help them get better. but dga was a very good place for pushing hard and thats what the gymnast needs for geting better at the skills

We are so thankful for Denton Gymnastics Academy. We have found the coaches to be a great balance of instructive, encouraging, pushing our daughter to reach her potential, and keeping it fun. They have shown understanding and support when she got injured. They have gone out of their way to work with our family for helping our daughter compete at the level she does. We are so grateful for the coaches and their expertise and skill and what they do. It has been a huge blessing for our family! We have been at other gyms and choose to be here. They are a “no nonsense” type gym that has been just what we need. It’s also more affordable than other gyms without all the extra fundraising or parent required volunteering or other events, while still providing a strong community and team. Our daughter is level 9 and has been with DGA for 4 years, since level 5.

DGA is an exceptional place! My daughter has been part of the program since November 2022, and it has been an incredible journey. The coaches are highly experienced and genuinely invested in each gymnast’s development. They have a supportive and inspiring environment where my child has done very well so far. Their personalized coaching has not only enhanced her skills but also built her confidence. I also like the strong sense of community at DGA, which makes both the gymnasts and parents feel valued and included. It’s truly a place that feels like home for me and my daughter.

I think the coaching staff that works with the younger athletes work very hard for the kids.

DGA was a wonderfully blessed experience that my granddaughter Ava had. She recently decided to leave gymnastics for a bit to spend more time with her younger siblings whom she rarely got to see or spend time with them, as she was in school all day and when she got home from gymnastics (4/5 days a week) they were either sleeping or getting ready for bed. The coaching is outstanding. As a guardian I felt mostly respected by everyone there. We made some really great friends there too that I consider family.
The only negative review I would give this gym is that they really need to do better with ordering Leo’s/Jogging pants and jackets. They are pretty pricey on their items, and I am still waiting for an outfit that I paid 180.00 for since March 2024. This is almost a year now that Ava will never get to wear as she’s no longer a member. When I requested my money back the owner told me “sorry no”. I mean, it’s almost a YEAR since this was originally ordered and she’s no longer a member. This is quite a bit of money to just throw away these days. Money I really don’t have. And of coarse Ava will never use it as she’s no longer a member. It’s upsetting to me that the gym/owner would not reimburse me for an outfit that was purchased over 10 months ago and was never received. Me personally it’s just poor business.

My daughter has been attending DGA Gymnastics for almost a year, and we’ve had a great experience. She’s part of the Excel program, and I’ve seen so much growth in her skills and confidence. The coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each athlete’s progress. The training environment is both structured and fun, helping gymnasts develop discipline while enjoying the sport. Beyond gymnastics, my daughter has gained teamwork and perseverance. I highly recommend DGA to anyone looking for a supportive and high-quality gymnastics program.

As parents, we all want the best for our children and strive to help them reach their highest potential in everything they do. If your daughter is passionate about gymnastics and determined to succeed in the sport, Denton Gymnastics Academy (DGA) is the place to be. Unlike large, impersonal gyms focused on quantity, DGA stands out as an intimate, professional, and nurturing environment where every coach is genuinely invested in the success of the athletes.
At DGA, gymnasts don’t just develop the necessary athletic skills to excel; they also grow in their personal, communal, and team-building abilities. These invaluable life skills shape them into well-rounded individuals, both inside and outside the gym.
We are incredibly grateful for the impact DGA has had on our daughter, Emma, over the past three years. Moving from Virginia to Texas was a big transition for our family, but finding DGA has been a blessing. The coaches, including Coach Rodica, Coach Aurel, Coach Sorin, Coach Rylie, and the rest of the dedicated coaching family, have played a vital role in Emma’s continued growth and success. Their love and commitment to the athletes are palpable, and we have complete confidence that we made the right choice for our daughter’s gymnastics journey.
Don't be discouraged by negative reviews. Take the time to visit DGA in person and see for yourself the amazing atmosphere and the dedication of the coaching staff. We wholeheartedly recommend DGA for anyone looking for a gym that will not only help your child achieve her athletic potential but also foster her growth as an individual.

I was at this gym from the time I was 8 years old until I left for college at 19. The coaches took some little girl with a dream and made that happen, Im at a D1 college on a full ride athletic scholarship for gymnastics and i can say with complete honesty I would not have made it without Rodica, Aurel, and Sorin. They pushed me to be better than I thought I could and yes sometimes we didn't agree on stuff, but they became family. If you want a gym that actually cares about who your daughter is as a person and an athlete, then DGA is it. It's forever a second home to me.

We have had a wonderful experience at DGA with our now level 7 gymnast! If you are looking for the best coaches around that truly care about the successes and happiness of your child, look no further than DGA. It was devastating to leave our last gym due to moving for jobs, and for over a year now, DGA has truly felt like home. Five stars!

DGA is a family owned and operated gym where your child is valued, and not just a number. My daughter moved to DGA 3.5 years ago as a level 3 gymnast and she is currently level 9. Once she moved to DGA, she immediately started to thrive with the guidance of her amazing coaches, and she progressed quickly. She was the 2022 Texas USA Gymnastics Compulsory Gymnast of the Year and was also a TOPs National Team member. Both of these huge accomplishments are because of how much her coaches believe in her and the strong work ethic they instill in their athletes. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and have the experience to help gymnasts of every level, from rec gymnastics all the way up to the elite level. They have been very encouraging throughout my daughter’s gymnastics journey and I know my daughter is in the best hands. We are very happy to be at DGA!

DGA is absolutely phenomenal! My daughter has been here a little over three years. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about each gymnast's progress, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where my child thrives. They've not only significantly improved her skills but also built her confidence through personalized attention. At DGA there is a strong sense of community and a positive feeling of belonging among the gymnasts and parents.

My daughter switched to DGA a little over a year and a half ago and I am incredibly impressed by the progress she has made. The gym is family owned and the coaches are highly experienced and knowledgeable, providing personalized guidance and support to each athlete. Their expertise has been instrumental in helping my daughter achieve her goals and improve her skills. The gym offers a structured environment that fosters discipline and growth. In the time she has been training here I have seen extreme progress in her skills, confidence as well as her meet scores and over all achievements. The girls are all very supportive of each other and it has been a very positive experience for her. This is her new gym family and I highly recommend this gym!

My kiddo is on team here and we absolutely love this gym. Her coaches are so encouraging and supportive all while helping her progress forward in the sport. We’ve had a great experience with the other parents and kiddos on her team as well. She is so excited to be at the gym and I truly enjoy being able to sit at practice and watch her.

This gym has been a godsend to my daughter. She moved to DGA about 2.5 years ago and loves it! It’s very family-oriented, and she really feels at home there. The coaches are experienced and knowledgeable and are just the right mix of caring and firm, and my daughter’s gymnastics has greatly improved as a result. She’s happier than she’s ever been and has gained so much confidence. We are thankful we found DGA.

A week ago I took both of my daughters to a trial class and the owner discriminated against my daughter with special needs, saying no one wants to deal with her! Is this what the world is coming to? Definitely don’t recommend!

This place does not know how to deal with smaller children! My daughter was a gymnast there for two-and-a-half 3 years and as she moved up they got more stringent and then once she made the competitive team, they started screaming and yelling at her as well as her teammates! They would make the girls cry on a daily basis! Keep in mind these are 4, 5, 6 and 7 year old children who are coming to learn gymnastics to have fun and get into the sport! The coaches and the owners on a daily basis would disregard complaints from the team parents and continue to disrespect the children and expect them to give them respect. When you tell them that they are worth nothing, that if they are going to cry get out of their gym, you can't hack it, you're not ready, don't go crying to your parents, that is a tremendous issue! No child should be made to feel insecure at their young age! That traumatized a child and they carry that with them. It does, believe it or not, impacts their personality, their self confidence and makes them scared to be their own person. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO ENJOY GYMNASTICS!!!

Our daughter has been at DGA for 6 years, and we couldn't ask for a better group of coaches, teammates and gym family. We moved from a gym in Frisco when our daughter decided she wanted to enter a two-a-day program and do gymnastics full-time. The coaches at DGA took her to the next level and she has experienced much success; owed in large part to Rodica, Aurel and Sorin Lazar. I would recommend Denton Gymnastics to any and all parents looking for a gym, no matter what experience level their child is at.

I highly recommend Denton Gymnastics Academy! My daughter began their recreation class when she was 5. She is now 7 competing level 4 and training TOPS. DGA has become her favorite place to be and she loves ALL the team coaches. Gymnastics is a highly competitive sport and DGA coaches know how to prepare team girls for success at their competitions. They focus on perfecting basics, they know what each gymnast needs and they coach accordingly. I was wowed when head coach and owner, Rodica Lazar, judged each competing gymnast at DGA from level 2 - level 10 during an In-House/ mock meet. She knows All her gymnasts and is sure to place each girl on a team where they can progress and feel successful. When I have questions or concerns, they make it easy to meet privately and have always made me feel that they care about my daughter's success. I always leave knowing my daughter is in the most capable hands. I recommend you visit the DGA website and learn about the Lazar family and the programs they offer. I feel privileged that my daughter receives coaching from the Lazar family, Coach Stephanie and Coach Justin!

Our experience at this gym was awful. My 7 yr old daughter enjoyed the sport, but the coaches ruined it for her. One coach in particular. Some of the complaints about this coach were that he would spank the girls bottoms, step on their backs, and threaten that he was going to shave their heads bald. The spanking made my daughter very uncomfortable. When I complained to the owner, he told me he removed him from working with the younger children. My daughter reported that when one of the female coaches explained to the kids why he wouldn't be training them, she told them "Some people just don't know how we do things around here." He was back working with the younger girls two weeks later.

They also administered some kind of medication to my daughter after she complained of a headache without my knowledge or permission. What if she had been allergic?

I never filled out any paperwork about my daughter when we started attending classes. There was never any formal introduction. This place lacks professionalism and standards of respect toward parents and children. The coaches' tactics are humiliating and abusive.
