Well, it was good while it lasted. We had some good times down at Dynamic fitness. It's too bad they are closing. I'll miss the dry sauna, and the convenience to the office. I'll always remember my time here. I feel like I'm losing a good friend, whose mom never had enough clean towels. Peace, love, and squatting deep.

Nice gym in general. Needs to update equipment or add new equipment. For example lacks all the new machines that have been created for glutes.

I am no longer working 14-16 hours a day and am enjoying some free time as I wind down my career. Is 70 too old to join a fitness center?

Not Dynamic Fitness! I have only been a member for about 3 months and find I am enjoying getting some late in life exercise. As I age, my goal is to maintain as best I can my mobility, flexibility and agility.

Dynamic is perfect for me - about 2 blocks from home, an exceptional staff, and friendly patrons.

Alex Arceneaux is great. He always greets me by my name with his ever present smile. Nice to feel welcome. Alex is more than willing to help with any issues and happy to share his fitness knowledge.

Alex, you are exceptional. Thanks for being there for me and your family of Dynamic Fitness members.

Well if I could give a 0 I would! If your a mom and need to leave your baby in the daycare area please turn around and go somewhere else. Choosing to leave your child with one of the caretakers is putting your child in danger! I have been going to this gym since moving to the area and got my sister in law to join. Last week she went to go pick her 11month old up after working out to find that he was left alone and no caretaker was in the room. He was crying and had a dirty diaper.

What caretaker leaves a child that age alone and did not notify the parent that thier child needed to be change. After my sister in law left crying and upset that her baby was left alone she went back to talk to the manager about the situation. The manager had little remorse about the unprofessional behavior of the caretaker and demonstrated a lack of sympathy towards my sister in laws feelings and the situation in general.

I then called to speak to the manager which was suddenly gone or unavailable only 5mins from the time my sister in law had just left upset. The manager never returned my call. Sadly, I enjoyed the gym due to location, my trainer, and it has most the equipment I like, but once my my training sessions and my membership expires I will not be returning to this place.

Please advise if you enjoy workingout in an environment with unprofessional individuals then this is your home, otherwise turn around and go to another location!!!

This statement excludes Jaz my trainer who gets a 5 cause she is awesome, professional, knowledgeable, and highly trained in her profession. Also, the man who took my phone call who was professional and trying to assist me with handling the situation. He also understand my frustration and agreed that the behavior was unexceptionable. I can not remember his name cause I called focused on only resolution not whom I was speaking with.

Can I give them a minus 1star? The worst customer service ever! They decided to advertise their business with Groupon. I’m a big fan of groupon! No contracts, you won’t over pay or hassle if you dont like a business.
First time I called to book an appointment I spoke with 4 different people. They didn’t have a clue about groupon. Finally, a “manager” gave me an appointment to meet with a “trainer”. I get there and guess what!? No one had an idea of what I was talking about (again!). I wasn’t a member and I wasn’t on the system. They made me wait a hour! Plus, they were acting like I was a broke person that couldn’t afford their membership... which btw is only $20 smh! Finally, they got sick of me and one of the “trainers” took me to the weight area and told me how to use a machine lol! No questions asked? 1st step a PROFFESIONAL trainer does is to ask what your goals are and go from there... he had a bad attitude and complaint of how he was hungry.... Three days later I went back to talk to a manager to see if I can finally redeem my groupon. Wayne, that’s his name; explained that a lot sales people got fired because of the poor customer service they were providing. He was going to “fix it” and call me the next day. I had to call him back... we finally got an appointment set up. I had to call him to let him know that I wasn’t going to be able to make it and cancel the appointment as a courtesy. Again, I wasn’t on the system and they didn’t know what I was talking about. Today, I went back to see if I could finally become a “member” and a “gentlemen” explained how the advertisement in groupon is old and shouldn’t be there (Like is my problem). Mind you he had same bad attitude acting like I was begging for their service and not paying for it. I asked for Wayne to call me cause he was at his lunch break and he never did!!!! What a joke as a business! Worst staff! Starting from the front desk to management! Pay less at 24 hour or LA Fitness. You will get more for your money and won’t deal with such of rudeness! I’m definitely going back to Orangetheory where I should of never stopped going. Good luck if you decide to go to the branch on Post Oak!

I’ve been going to Dynamic fitness for a couple of weeks now.

Pros:
The gym is never super packed
Has a wide range of machines to target different muscle groups
Has a good number of free weights
They provide towels
They have a nice sauna
Parking has never been an issue

Cons:
They could use one more squat rack.
Some equipment could use a little grease
Equipment needs to be wiped more often
The toilet doesn’t flush well and they need new toilet paper dispenser

They have facilities and that's about it. They're shady and get you to sign up for membership; cancellation is another problem. Their so called abc financial services would continue to debit you after you've canceled your membership. Their staff act like they're unaware of their unscrupulous business practices and sound like they wish to help...they are just buying more time so you can get debited the next month. They're very insincere!

This gym is, quite literally, one of the worst in Houston, and I don't use the words lightly. I have several awful experiences and I will try to list the main ones on this review. The biggest fail for this gym is that they use a company called ABC Financial to process all payments and memberships, and when you try to cancel or change your membership, the process will take you several months. The auto-pay system that ABC Financial uses also errors frequently when trying to process monthly fees, and then they will tack-on late fees for their own error. The second major issue is that the gym is not clean and the staff consistently fails in this area. This gym is not worth $40/month and I have taken my family over to the YMCA for a much better overall experience.

This place is great. Terrific equipment, excellent hours of operation and best of all are the people that work there. I really appreciate the extra care and attention that are shown to me by Daniel, JT and Becca. Those employees really make the club a "go to" destination for people in the Galleria area.

A special shout out to Daniel who works so hard and is just magnificent in all respects, Becca "The Queen of Pain" whose personal training skills are superb, and J.T. who keeps everything flowing so well in the "wee" morning hours. Location is perfection!! Staff is amazing...above and beyond when it comes to client accommodations. This entire staff has been so friendly to my sweet little family that we consider them close friends now. Daniel has always been so easily accessible for any questions or conserns. Dominique has always been very pleasant at the front desk. Kellys D-Fit class will whip you into shape in the best way, my husband and I made it to as many classes as possible lol We absolutely fell in love with Derrodrick, he has always been so welcoming and super encouraging not to mention hilarious. And I have to mention Kent in membership services, he is always super friendly and in a great mood. Aside from this A-Team staff the facility itself offers a great KidZone for my 2 littles, they always provide fresh clean towels and play the best music...which definitely helps when you always forget your headphones like me lol

I was one of the first 300 people to sign up for the Post Oak location a few years back. It's a great gym with all the workout machine and weights you would need for a very reasonable price. Keep in mind they do charge a $55 maintenance fee in February, and I don't remember being notified of it. I like that it's still a relatively small gym, it's not overwhelmingly big and if you go past 8:00 pm or 9:00 pm, there will be very few people. The only reason I leave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I cancelled my membership back in december and came to realize several months later that they were still charging my card, thus the employee never effectively cancelled my membership. I had to go back to the gym in person and I was lucky that corporate operations administrator was on site. Luckily, she was able to reverse all but one of the payments so I am glad she was attentive and handled the problem effectively.

I love the gym for the fact that it's close to my apt and work and even though it's small it's usually not busy when I go BUT management and staff need to enforce some rules for the fact that it's a SMALL GYM. People reserve with their towel 2-3 machines when there's only one of each and it's not cool when we just trying to finish our set but some dummy comes and has no sense and reserves several machines at the same time. Bad bad for the gym not saying anything. We pay $20 a month to use the machines

Staff doesn't do anything. Weights are out of place or not reracked, 5lb dumbbells are mixed with 40lb ones, not enough towels 90 percent of the time, and just one squat rack. Good for a relatively cheap gym but I guess you get what you pay for..

This gym is not great. I've been going there for 6 months. They do not have enough towels. They have none that are shower size. The place stinks and the bathrooms aren't well ventilated. On top of that, I broke my foot and asked to have my membership placed on hold for two months (where it doesn't bill, but then goes back to normal after the hold period), I spoke with a manager about this...however, I just got a past due collections notice. I have tried emailing them multiple times about this with no reply. I am VERY disappointed in their customer service. The girl at the front desk is generally rude and lazy. If it wasn't so close to my work I would NEVER go there.

First and WORST experience ever!
I should have listened to my gut when I signed up for 12months in Jan 2015 but getting a workout in during my lunch hours was a priority of mine while working a desk job. After patiently waiting for my contract to run out when I got a new job in a new location, I called to cancel in January. They told me because I couldn't come in to cancel then I needed to email their staff. I of course emailed them stating I needed to cancel and realized a couple days later that I didn't get a reply so I forwarded my email again "Hello, can someone assist me?!"
I call again about canceling my account and no one at any location at that time could give me a straight answer. They told me to call ABC financial so I did, but then ABC said they need to hear from Dynamic because they just could refund money without permission. I emailed twice that month and received 0 responses from anyone!
Now we're 4 months into the new year and after numerous phone calls, more unanswered emails and inability to speak with managers, I'm still getting charged monthly + service fees!
February I was charged again, I called to cancel. March, I was charged a $21 and a $30 service fee so I naturally got very fed up and called around AGAIN!
The managers at Sugarland who were so nice and informative told me I'd get a refund of my membership money from January, February and March! The ONLY person and place to listen and help me cancel so far was Sara in Sugarland but even they couldn't fully help me because I signed up at Post Oak!! She tells me to call Rob. So I did.
I'm now informed from Rob at the Post Oak location that I'm actually unable to get a full refund because I didn't cancel 5 days before my billing date in January so I could only get February and March back.
I find it very ironic that they would like to play by the rules now after the complete lack of customer service and unresponsiveness I've experienced this year with Dynamic Fitness in general.
I of course argued with him telling him Sara has requested this for me, she has emailed him and said that they spoke but Rob wouldn't budge and argued back.
I then call Sara back at Sugarland and she said she doesn't know why he can't refund me for January- especially after all of this. I figured SOMEONE would call me back- of course not.
I asked Rob when we initially spoke to email me (since documentation seems to be so important) a confirmation that he in fact called ABC Financial and I would be getting a refund unfortunately only for Feb and March- OF COURSE he didn't do that either so I had to call back again today! He then says "I'm so sorry I didn't email you back, I had to put out some fires."
Ridiculous. What about mine for the last 3 months?!
The lack of professionalism, urgency and customer service is beyond frustrating! I can't even call the owner- I asked for their number too! It has truly damaged any contract experience I would have liked to have in the future. I will NEVER recommend this gym to anyone! And I still am furious that I've basically been stolen from for 3 months and I can't get a full refund!
So if I can help any one in this decision making process, STAY AWAY -especially from them!

I workout here at least 5 days a week and it is an excellent gym. It BY FAR beats LA Fitness, Planet Fitness, and 24 Hour Fitness. I've been a member at all of them and they fail in too many ways to name. This gym is never too crowded. They provide secure, free, covered parking. The equipment is either new or in great shape. The price is almost too fair. The amenities are nice and unlike other big chain gyms they don't charge you for towels and such. Staff seems nice for the most part. It's pretty hidden in a nice part of town so it does a nice job of keeping out trashy people. I highly recommend it!

I was staying in downtown Houston for two weeks for a business trip and worked out at Dynamic Fitness on Post Oak. I met the manager Israel who was very engaging and energized about his organization. The gym had everything I need, but more importantly the locker rooms were immaculate. I know it sounds like an easy thing, but most gyms usually neglect that part of the operation. I would strongly recommend any business travelers talk to Israel.

Keep up the good work.

Its is the worst place to deal with. The management is so poor. I have been dealing with a manager at post oak location in the past 5 months I have told her to freez my acount whenever my contract is over back on December 2014 but she never did. Her name is Jessica Lightbody and because of her i have to pay the extra charges that I have told her that i wont be there any more but because of her management issues I got to pay all that. No customer service nothing. I recommend 24 hours fitness for.

Convenient gym because of the area and hours that it's open (24 hrs most days of the week). It's a small gym but has a lot of good, well kept equipment as well as a spa and sauna. It's really never that crowded except on Mondays since that's a popular day at any gym. Also, the staff and atmosphere are pretty inviting -- no one is slamming weights or grunting.

I joined this gym when they first opened and have found it be wonderful. It is such an improvement over the ownership before. Dynamic Fitness is always clean and the equipment is great and if something isn't working will always be repaired within a week. (Love that!!!) For a very long time I just did my normal workout routine and no one was bugging or harassing me about signing up for training. I have been using Kelsey as my trainer for maybe 9 months now and have noticed a huge improvement. Would definitely recommend their trainers to change up your routine and get some new ideas. My only negative comment would be their music selection sometimes - I don't care for the rap music and if they looked around think they would know that most of their clients probably don't listen to that music either. So bring your own music......

I usually never write reviews but i have had it with this place!!!!!

DO NOT BUY TRAINING SESSIONS HERE !! : On February 5, 2015 I purchased and paid for 5 training sessions the cost was $240. I specifically told the personal trainer ALFRED more than once that I would ONLY be paying for these 5 sessions and no more. I had been out for two months and wanted to get back in my previous work out routine. As i got home from the Gym that night, I received an email with a contract attachment and noticed that the PT wrote I would be signing up for 2 consecutive months totaling 10 sessions. I showed up the next day and spoke with him and the asst. manager DENZEL telling them this was not something I agreed to and insisted that my card not be charged. The PT said he had to write out the contract that way in order to give me the "Discounted Price" which was irritating to begin with due to the fact that he did not share this information while we discussed sessions and pricing in his office. The PT and the Asst. manager suggested I "Freeze" the training sessions for the upcoming month in order to not be billed so I told them to go ahead and freeze it. Little did i know that "Freezing" was also going to be a charge which they did not tell me about. After reminding them to "Freeze" my account day after day it finally got done. Well on 2/23/2015 I received an email with a "Freeze" request form for personal training starting 3/10/2015 and ending in 4/10/2015 now to anyone with common sense that is a total of 1 month but I was charged for 2 months of freezing at $15 a month and on there it said reactivation of sessions would begin on 4/10/2015 meaning they would charge me the $240 for sessions I did not agree with in the first place.

I spoke with the district managerDAVID THOMPSON on 2/24/15 he was no help whatsoever and told me the contract signed was actually for 3 MONTHS NOT 2, I had paid the $240 upfront therefore I had 2 remaining in the contract AHH WTF! He then asked if the personal trainer had put a gun to my head and force me to sign the contract which was uncalled for and plain rude. I told him that upon me signing the contract not once did ALFRED ask that i review it and as far as I knew he clearly knew that I only wanted to purchase the 5 sessions, the contract was not printed out and given to me in order to have reviewed it in the first place. He continued to say there was nothing he could do and if i wanted to cancel the sessions i would have to pay $240. As soon as I got off the phone with him I called my credit card company and cancelled the card I had on File so they would not try to charge me for anything!!

I only had 2 sessions with ALFRED but after this whole ordeal I am going to Terminate my membership at this gym TODAY, this is ridiculous and just plain unprofessional. Trainers need to explain every portion of contracts and policy's for this chain.

DO NOT SIGN UP AT THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING TRAINED!!!! ASK THAT THEY PRINT OUT A COPY OF THE CONTRACT AND REVIEW IT BEFORE SIGNING A THING, DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD THAT COMES OUT THE THE SALES PERSONS MOUTH OR PERSONAL TRAINERS!!!!

My letter to the head trainer of Dynamic Fitness: you have been warned!

Hello Mark De Castro,
Since you seem to be unreachable by phone, I am writing this email to inform you that I finally received a copy of my contract with Dynamic Fitness. I know I should have read the whole thing carefully before signing it instead of acting on the verbal promises of a sales person, but better late than never.
Paragraph 8, of the contract states, “There are no refunds for cancellation of sessions”. I don’t know if this is referring to the Paragraph 6, which provides that a fee will be charged if an individual session is not cancelled with a 24-hour prior notice; or if, like in my case, a member is canceling personal training because she has two medical notes stating she cannot work out due to injuries for 6 to 9 months. Also, the contract states that all sessions must be complete within 8 months from the start (Paragraph 3). Three months have already passed; I am not going to recover in time to use the three months of training sessions that I already pre-paid for.
My husband and I were treated very well by Dynamic Fitness’s sales stuff during the signing-up process. In answer to our concern over my health we were reassured that we can “freeze” or cancel anything at any time. Unfortunately for us, we neglected to get the statements made by the club’s staff in writing, and signed the contract on an electronic signature pad based on the verbal statement. If we read the contract we would have seen that “Dynamic Fitness does not honor any verbal agreements made in the club…” In other words, the sales staff is allowed and encouraged by the management to lie. We trusted the staff and did not read the contract. It is our fault; lesson learned. The staff’s attitude changed once we were “on the hook”: I did not hear from my trainer in the beginning to get started and had to look for him. My trainer did not create a personal training plan. My trainer did not advise me on the proper diet; he did not address my concerns when I was in pain caused by my injuries. He and you became scarcely available when my doctors insisted I cancel my training sessions. The only function of your establishment that worked without a glitch was billing: I was charged for over thirty sessions that I could not use.

My main reason for joining a gym was to improve my health. I also dream of doing a bikini competition as a way of proving to myself that I did not let my illness get in the way and that I achieved something. I liked your story of your own situation and personal achievement; I thought you understood me and wanted to help. I counted on your help. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

Nonetheless, thank you for the valuable lesson. I will be writing reviews to make sure that others are aware of the Dynamic Fitness’s policies.

Meanwhile, please advise how many sessions exactly I have left. I would like to transfer them to someone who can train; I don’t want over $1200 worth of pre-paid sessions to go to waste.

I've been a member of this chain for almost 2 years this upcoming December. But after my experience this morning, not only was my workout completely ruined but so is my view of this gym.

Today, during my early morning workout, i was harrassed by your overnight desk girl. I didn't ask her name, but she was small, black, with glasses and tattoos on her neck. The girl was watching a movie or a tv show on her ipad, that was propped up on the desk when i walked in. Apparently, she didn't like the fact that my deadlifting was interrupting her "movie time." That's right, this EMPLOYEE of Dynamic Fitness was pissed that she couldn't watch her movie without any disturbance.

I was deadlifting, like i do at this facility once a week without issue and she twice interrupted my workout to tell me "stop slamming the weights and disturbing everybody else." I was deadlifting 300 lbs, and it is literally impossible to lift heavily while being completely silent. I tried explaining this to her, but she would not listen and again said rudely "stop disturbing everybody else" and started to walk away. I then asked for a manager, and she told me there wasn't one at the facility. I then asked her to try and pick up the bar i was lifting and put it back down without making any noise and she said "i can" and walked off. No one complained to her, no one. This wasn't an issue with another customer. This EMPLOYEE was angry that the noise of the bar hitting the ground was disturbing HER.

I have been a customer of your gym for almost two years now, and have never had any issues except for with your parking garage. I have given excellent reviews of your Pearland gym on yelp, and on other internet sites such as Reddit for being an awesome, customer-focused gym unlike other big chains such as 24 hour and Lifetime Fitness. I have also raved about how your gym catered to both "lighter" fitness people and heavy lifters such as myself, unlike Planet Fitness. But this incident this morning shows I was very wrong. I'm not sure if this particular girl was new, as i'd never seen her before, but she was incredibly rude and completely ruined my usually awesome early workout.

A part of your slogan is that you strive to provide the ultimate fitness experience for each customer, but today, that was not the case. After this incident, i have no choice but to search for another gym that caters to my needs and will allow each customer to pursue his/her individual fitness goals equally, rather than catering only to one particular group. I will be cancelling my membership as soon as i find another gym that doesn't harrass its customers for being "too strong."
