I decided it was time to get back in shape and started personal training with Monica N. at Cowboy Fit East a few months ago. It has been fantastic and I am seeing results and getting stronger. Monica designs unique workouts for me that get me to do things I would not do myself and that keep me from getting bored. And I am seeing the results, so it has been great.

I joined EDCF in May of 2024 and I am so glad that I did! I was looking for a functional approach to fitness and I really found it. The programming is super scalable, and each workout is varied, which keeps things fun and interesting.
The coaches are great at giving the right balance of feedback, as well as space to allow you to feel things out a bit for yourself. The coaches are also incredibly supportive and encouraging, as well as welcoming to all levels of fitness.
In my 8 months with EDCF I have noticed a substantial increase in my strength and fitness, and have learned a ton along the way.
I would not hesitate to sign up again.. my only wish is that I had joined sooner :)

I joined about three months ago and I am beyond loving the experience! It’s a good balance of being challenged, but also working at your own pace and adjusting as needed. For years, I was always intimidated to try CrossFit, but this location, especially is absolutely amazing and has such a great sense of community! Highly recommend for any CrossFitter or someone looking for a good workout program that easy to stick to. Ryan and the crew do a great job of welcoming new members. He continuously checks in with tips on nutrition, goal setting and other helpful topics. 4 months in and I have not received this type of extended welcome from any gym, ever.

Best CrossFit in Dallas. I’ve tried many places, but East Dallas CrossFit is by far my favorite. I’m not a fit person, but I like to stay active, and the staff and community in EDC helped me to achieve the best of me. The staff is amazing, they will guide you step by step, the members are super friendly and keep you motivated to finish your WOD, something that I struggled before. They even have a stinky beer hang out 😎 🍻

Great workouts! Greater people! This is the place to go if you want a group workout. Workouts are different each day and continue to be interesting. Every trainer is great at ensuring you have proper form to prevent injury. Modifications are available for any fitness level for any exrcise. I started at EDCF back in may of this year, and so far it’s been the best decision I could’ve made for myself. Previously, I worked out on my own 2-3 times a week but wasn’t pushing myself hard enough. I’ve finally found a way to push myself and hold myself more accountable.
Every workout is tough, but not impossible to get through. They do a great job of switching it up every day too, you’ll never have a week where you feel like you are doing the exact same thing over and over.
The community is great as well. I never feel intimidated when I walk in the door for a workout. There’s a great mix of people that are CF veterans, and newcomers. It’s nice because everyone knows how hard to push themselves and the workouts allow flexibility for the newer folks to scale it down if needed, without judgement.
Finally, I have to rave about the coaches. They are all gray, but especially Ryan and RJ. They do a great job of walking you through each new workout, and giving you constructive feedback in a way that doesn’t make you feel bad about yourself, but instead it’s encouraging and they’ll follow through to make sure you’re never lost.
Overall I love EDCF, and highly recommend it to anyone at any experience level.

This place isn't like other Crossfit boxes.
It's clean, well maintained and incredibly welcoming. It's got the most knowledgable coaches that really do care about its members.
Ryan and RJ really take the time to get to know you, and work with you should you need something modified. They don't make it feel like the stereotypical "go hard until you die" Crossfit mentality at all. I'm sure they can accommodate that if you want, but they have a great way of balancing out the people that are there to train for the games, and those that are there to just be fit.
I 100% can't recommend this place enough. If you've ever wondered what is or how do you Crossfit this is place for you.

I love EDCF! I've been a member for about 3 months and I can't wait to get into the gym each day. Ryan, RJ, and the rest of the trainers are awesome, totally helpful and friendly. Crossfit sounded super intimidating but it's not bad at all, there are 2 levels for each workout so you can work hard but at your own pace. Best workout classes ever! - All of the coaches are friendly & knowledgeable. They are encouraging but not in your face during the workout, which is nice.
- The gym itself has everything that’s needed for CrossFit WOD’s and is clean.
- There are 2 options of intensity for every WOD. This is wonderful because it allows for people at every stage of their fitness journey to participate & build strength & confidence.
- The cost per month is SO much more affordable than any other CrossFit in Dallas. IM SO THANKFUL FOR THAT.

East Dallas CrossFit provides experienced coaches that fit workouts for any fitness level. The options have allowed me to learn to listen to my body better and make necessary adjustments as needed in the week. I have been training for a marathon and the workouts have provided a great cross training option and sprint aspect to my training that has helped me build my running base and increase my recovery. While at this gym, I have been less sore on a weekly basis but have also still made improvements in Olympic lifts. Lastly, you can tell the coaches enjoy what they do!

Folks throw around terms like "gym home" and "gym family" pretty casually these days but I've been working out at East Dallas Crossfit for five years now and no other descriptors could be more appropriate. The coaches are engaged and invested in your fitness journey. The programming is well considered and thorough for all fitness levels, and I love that parallel workouts are designed for masters members. The atmosphere is very friendly which is a function of owners and coaches attitudes as well as members trust. I started crossfit this past summer and as a new member I have truly enjoyed it! The trainers are very good at making sure you feel comfortable with the new exercises and equipment- questions are welcomed!
What I love most about the classes is that they are different every day, which makes it fun to not have to do the same thing every day! I left the regular gym for this reason and I would never go back! I love cross fit and the mix of cardio with strength and conditioning works well for me!

The first rule EDCF has is leave your ego at the door. This shows in everything Ryan and RJ do and the community they have built. As coaches they challenge you but also make certain you are safe and use practice good form. (Something I struggle with after 40 years on my own and the bad habits i picked up along the way) The community is caring and supportive, not a bunch of people trying to one-up or show how much better they are. EDCF is a great place to train and become a better you.

EDCF is an incredible gym. They've helped to me to push myself (physically and mentally) in many ways that I haven't in years. They have a great coaching staff that does an incredible job educating and motivating you along the way. The gym is made up of people of all ages. Classes are never to overflowing or empty, just the right size. Equipment is great. It's an all around great box. I've been working out at EDCF since 2015. The gym offers a wide range of exercise options to suit all ages and abilities. The owners grew up in the neighborhood and are a part of the community. Coming here you're not going to find inspirational photos, color schemes, mirrors on the wall, or someone with a headset on cheering at you incessantly. What you will find is all the equipment and knowledge needed to reach your goals (whatever they are), and a good, supportive group to help you get there. Don't be intimidated. Commit and jump in.

I’m brand new to East Dallas CrossFit. A friend, whose also a certified CrossFit coach at another gym, encouraged me to give EDCF a try since it’s so close to our work. I was really nervous since I’ve heard how difficult CrossFit can be and because of how out of shape and overweight I’ve become over the past few years... I always thought you had to be in shape before you even try CrossFit.
My friend signed me up for the free 1:1 intro course to give it a try... and, man, it was challenging but I found that I really did like enjoy it!
I’m half way through my pre-course trainings and Ryan has been awesome. He’s so patient and very thorough each time he teaches me a new movement or corrects my form. It’s still challenging for me but not to the point where I feel defeated. It’s more of a motivational challenge... which is definitely a sign of awesome coaching!
I initially walked through the door to target my weight gain but now I find my self setting little goals like where I’ll try beat my time from a previous session. I still have a VERYYY long way to go but I’m really happy that I’ve found this place. Thank you Ryan & East Dallas CrossFit. :)

I have enjoyed the community of this gym. Its important you have the right coach to help you through the technique required to obtain the most out of this type of training. No wonder East Dallas Crossfit continues to be named "Best Gym". Great group!

I pulled up to East Dallas CrossFit a few months back to attend a free Saturday workout and see if CrossFit was right for me. I sat there in my truck, watching in the review mirror as they finished their workout. A bunch of incredibly fit people all lifting massive amounts of weight. All I could think was, "what have I gotten myself into?"
I finally swallowed hard and went inside to try my hand at CrossFit.
Ryan Savard greeted me and after a few minutes I realized that I was the only person attending this workout. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. I couldn't blend in to the crowd, but then again I didn't have to worry about embarrassing myself in front of anyone other than Ryan (and surely he had seen worse, hadn't he?).
We started the warmup with some stretches, air squats and other movements that I could just barely do. So after a few minutes of warming up and another few minutes seeing where I was physically by asking me to try a few more movements, Ryan says, "OK, so now let's do the workout." I'm thinking, "that wasn't the workout?" So, I spent the next 10 or 12 minutes doing wall balls, ring rows and 200m runs until I felt like I was going to die, but I finished. I felt destroyed physically at the end of the workout, but proud that I had finished.
It was only later that I realized that Ryan gave me a workout that was easy enough that I would finish, but difficult enough (based on my fitness level) that I would realize how hard I was going to have to work if I decided to join.
I started the prep course a week or so later. On my second or third prep course class, the WOD was rowing and lifting. Once again, I felt like I might be in over my head, but this time it wasn't a coach, but another member, who came over after he finished his own workout and said, "come on man, that bar isn't going to lift itself!" He, along with several other people, encouraged me to finish the workout, which I did. I wondered to myself what kind of response my struggling to finish would have gotten from those working out around me at some other gym. I can only imagine that it would have been a sideways stare or the stink eye.
That was the moment that I knew I was working out at the right place.
Since that time Ryan, Trevor, and Drew have guided and corrected my form - and continue to do so, frequently - while the amazing community has supported my efforts. I can't imagine there is any gym better than East Dallas CrossFit. Excellent coaching, excellent community!

I've always struggled with committing to regular exercise. Then, I joined EDCF in February 2013. I am hooked. Ryan is an excellent coach who uses smart programming and instruction - not aimed to kill you every session, but build your strength consistently. And, the other gym members are great! Every one is encouraging and not super Crossfit-serious or intimidating. I feel stronger and more confident than ever before.

I found a fantastic community in my own backyard. The class sizes are just the right size and the trainers are knowledgeable. Moreover, if you workout here, you are surrounded by good people to the last one.
This is a business that has demonstrated to me they are intent on giving back to their community.
