I am a highly motivated and knowledgeable certified personal trainer with 18 years of successful experience across multiple fitness centers. I have a proven track record for helping clients achieve their fitness goals through personalized work out programs and nutrition plans.
I'm located in the heart of the Houston area. I have trained over 100,000 hours and helped countless people achieve their fitness goals. I enjoy pushing my clients further than they ever thought they could. The many benefits to training include lower body fat percentage, better cardiovascular health, better understanding of the benefits of eating certain foods, and a strengthened body and mind. In the end, you will come away feeling fantastic about yourself!

I had the pleasure of training with Sean several years ago. He met me where I was at in my fitness journey and encouraged, motivated and enabled me to be better! Of course I made the huge mistake of telling him “If I don’t throw up…I haven’t had a good workout!”…needless to say he took things to another level and I often would need to know how far the nearest trash can was just in case! 🤢 Sean is among the best there is! 💪🏼👊🏼

Ten years ago, my trainer could no longer accommodate my requested schedule. He recommended Sean as a consideration. After a few training sessions with Sean, I was satisfied he met my specifications. Shorty thereafter, i began to notice numbness in my left side, both arm and leg. After I received the diagnosis, Sean quickly learned all he could to continue to help me. His expertise, knowledge and genuine concern is the reason I am still mobile today. He developed a comprehensive plan to address my specific needs. Long after others with a similar diagnosis can no longer function, I continue to work, drive, and walk. Without Sean’s knowledge, I would not have a comfortable life today. During the pandemic, he came to my home three times a week. I would strongly recommend him for his knowledge and for his compassion. He is exceptional.

I’ve been working out with Sean since 2008. Needless to say that we went beyond the relationship between personal trainer and client, we became very good friends. I would say that’s one of the differentials that he offers, when compared with professionals from the same area. He gets involved with his clients well being, not only the training itself.
I am 50 years old, thankfully to Sean my body is fit and I’m healthy. I recommend him 109%.

Sean is simply amazing... When I first went to him, I was this close to giving up I had gained a lot of weight and was no longer as physically active as I used to be I saw Sean as my last chance to get in shape and get healthy. Come up with a feasible plan and helped me find dedication to the work in front of me within 6 months I had lost over 50 lb was looking great and feeling better than I had in years. Even my doctor was impressed with the progress and the change it limited my blood pressure medication and I was fit as a fiddle. The results were long-lasting too 5 years later still fitting into my thin clothes and feeling great! We all stumble and make mistakes but Sean has a way to make you feel okay about that but to get re-energized and get back on the program - always accessible and always engaged I would highly recommend Sean for anybody at any level of fitness to find their better self getting better shape or regain their youth.

As a former fitness instructor and wife of a competitive athlete, I consider my ability to assess trainers to be on the higher end. There are a lot of trainers available out there, many not well suited to the role in my humble opinion. Sean Burks of Energy in Motion has been my personal trainer for more than ten years and I chose Sean for his technical knowledge of the human body and his ability to balance that with the right amount of creativity, commitment and challenge. Sean is authentic and is someone who puts his all into his client. I am frequently asked how I am in such good shape for a 60+ year old, and one of the reasons is my discipline and the programs that Sean creates for me. I’ve been seeing Sean over the last 12+years - in between moves in and out of Houston. I’ve worked with a number of “master level” trainers while living in other cities and have failed to find any as effective as Sean. He’s one of the best trainers ever and gets results while making the experience enjoyable. He’s knowledgeable about nutrition and customizes exercise programs for individual needs. He doesn’t do the same standard routine with everyone and designs challenging programs with great variety to help you achieve your goals. I highly recommend Sean if you are serious about getting into shape and maintaining that progress.

Sean for the last 8 months has taken me under his wing from over 1300 miles away. I got covid in november 2020 and a kidney stone. On jan 1 with a wife and 3 kids under 13 it was time to change. I ballooned to 260. With a meal plan, zooms, texts and video/photo uploads...I have dropped just over 50 pounds. This guy gets it...he knows what makes people tick and he pushes the envelope. Holds you 100% accountable for all facets of your goals. I still have more to accomplish and though I want it to be a race...Sean has set mini goals and “tests” to keep me striving and not giving up.

I’ve known Sean about 20 years but didn’t start training with him until 2015, so the last 6 years. I used to be an avid gym rat but kids happened and my opportunities to work out diminished so I figured I needed a little push to make up for reduced workouts. Fast forward 6 years later and Im still as fit as I was when we started. That may not sound like much except I went from my late 40s into my 50s and through a pandemic. Sean and I have been having virtual sessions for the last 18 months but can also come to you or meet you at the gym. We mix it up with some plyometric exercises and some weights. Sean can help you with the basics, guide you on nutrition, help you lose weight, gain muscle, shape for a competition. You name it! I highly recommend Sean!
