I went to Iron Vault for about 2 years while I lived in Austin and it’s one of my favorite gyms I’ve ever been to. The morning community was great, with everyone knowing everyone and a fantastic culture of support amongst each other. The gym itself while small, had an incredible amount of equipment without feeling cluttered. Additionally, in my time there, there were constant improvements in terms of adding machines, racks, and barbells. Overall a fantastic gym that’s ran incredibly well.

Editing my review. This is as of 10/202, but leaving the old one for reference.

I have been a member of Iron Vault for over a year now, and well, I hate it. You CAN get a decent session in. 24/7 access is nice. And it does have a nice selection of equipment. But, I no longer feel comfortable training here. Unless you are, and I quote “one of the boys,” or young, hot, skinny, or all of the above, you will NOT be welcome here. At least, I don’t feel welcome. I am a single mother. I’m middle-aged. I am not small. I love to train. And I train HARD. I have every right to be in the gym as I pay, just as anyone else does. That doesn’t matter. If you aren’t in the “Bro” Clique, you WILL be mean mugged. I am trying to prepare for a comp, so need to use some implements here, but honestly, am considering Bouldering Project or Crunch after my comp. The “vibes” are that unwelcoming now.

Old review:

My first time training in Iron Vault was in May of 2019. I don’t recall how I learned about the gym’s opening, but couldn’t wait to check the place out. I paid for a day pass online and went to check it out. I met James—the owner—that day, who complimented my squat depth (it’s gotten better, but dude made my day), and chatted a little about the gym. Instantly knew he was a capital fellow and I thought to myself, “I really hope this place makes it.” Unfortunately, I wasn’t in a place to join then as I was still a member of the Voldemort of Globo Gyms (hence, it shall not be named…except to say the gym name rhymes with Molds).

Well, I’m a member now, and in those 5 years James has built a lifter’s paradise. Rogue Ohio Power Bars, a 28.5 Texas Power Bar, a gazillion multipurpose bars, Texas Deadlift Bar, Rogue Deadlift bar, Texas Squat Bar, chalk, ammonia, a log, wagon wheels, an Eleiko Combo Rack, power racks, half racks, a Rogue Belt Squat, a reverse hyper, a Transformer bar, an Elite FTS SSB, calibrated plates…phew. I know I’ve forgotten something…Oh, and tampons!

You get the idea.

The best part, though? A homely fat old relatively weak lifter broad like myself is perfectly comfortable here. I’m something of a lone wolf when it comes to my training. But I love to put in some work, get jiggy with it between my sets, talk to myself, and grind. FeV members and staff have been happy to let me do my thang, and you can’t ask for much more than that.

Austin is pretty fortunate in terms of quality gym choices, but you can’t get much better than Iron Vault for the price, equipment, oh, there’s also AC. *cue hallelujah singing*

Go get in a lift, support a quality, local gym, you won’t regret it.

Just moved to Austin, and this is easily the best gym I’ve joined in years. Super clean, I’ve never had to wait for a squat rack, and everyone here clearly takes pride in the space. Weights always put back neatly. No BS. No influencers. Just people getting after it. 10/10, highly recommend!

Fev Gym is a
FIVE 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 gym

Since the beginning of 2021 I have been going to that incredible gym, and I can say that it is the best gym I have been to in my entire life.

I can train comfortably and effectively because the gym has a lot of quality equipment and a great environment.

And many of my clients who have been training there for 1 - 2 years, when they first visited FevGym for the first time, have been fascinated with everything they saw in the gym and signed up for a membership without thinking twice.

Since in the gym you can see:

-Equipment 💯
- Cleaning and organization 💯
- Customer service 💯 (Jose, Tristan, Zach and Dorian are always very attentive, friendly and willing to help) - Environment of 💯
- Location of 💯
- It's 24 hours
- Friendly competitions
- A very friendly community

In addition to the fact that the owner of the gym is a very cool and unique person, he appears in the gym as one more gym member, talks and laughs with the members, workout there, support you, and well, he is just great person because despite owning the gym he is very easy going and humble.

If you are looking for a gym to workout.
FEV GYM recommended x 10000

And if you go you will not only be one more gym member but you will be part of an incredible community

I tried out a number of gyms when I first moved to Austin and felt the most comfortable at Iron Vault! The community is amazing - everyone is respectful, courteous, and genuinely supportive of one another. The gym is always tidy and organized, and I never had to wait too long for a piece of equipment. If you're interested in strength training and want a no fuss, no frills gym, I recommend checking them out!

I really have enjoyed my regular visits to Iron Vault. People are pretty serious about their workouts here, but still kind and thoughtful. If I’m near a piece of equipment, folks always ask if I’m using it. Front desk/spotters are all genuinely nice. Facilities are well maintained and clean. I've been to most gyms in town (Hyde Park, Gold's, ABP, LifeTime, etc.) and after joining FeV a few weeks ago I can tell I'm going to be a member here for a while.

This is a no frills, legit gym for actual weightlifting. There are plenty of squat racks, deadlift stations, etc. so I haven't had issues waiting for equipment, and people have been nice enough to let you work in on some of their more limited machines. The equipment isn't quite as new/nice as ABP's, but is more diverse: they have stuff like a hip thruster station, earthquake bars for stability work, etc.

They also have tons of bands for mobility work, although space for this is very limited - the tight quarters along with limited warm-up options (e.g. treadmills / bikes) are really my only complaints so far.

Hard to beat this place for $75 a month!

I've lived in Austin since 2006 and gone to a LOT of gyms around town. I always loved gyms that focused on weight lifting over cardio or just had tons of random machines everywhere. I found this place during covid and am so happy I did. They have tons of squat racks, bars and all the free weights and plates you would need. All of the employees here are awesome. Very friendly. Always willing to help or give advice. Everyone that works out here is very friendly and helpful as well. Even during rush hour gym traffic you can always find a squat rack or deadlifting platform open. This is hands down the best gym in Austin. It's meant for people that take weight lifting serious. I've never seen anyone have a problem at this gym. It's always clean. Always open if you are a member, and always a very comfortable atmosphere. This gym was a huge help in me losing 30lbs and I can't thank everyone that works or goes here enough. I'm leaving Austin and wish I could take this place with me. If you are looking for a serious weight lifting gym, this is the place for you. Great staff, great weights, great price. They will treat you right and you won't be disappointed you became a member. The best gym I've ever had, by far.

If you like free weights, primarily train SBD, or like using chalk or making noise in the gym, you won't find a better gym in the area, especially at this price. There's a reason much of the Longhorn Powerlifting team chooses to train here. On top of this, winter storm Uri showed me that the owner really care about the members.

The only reason I wouldn't recommend this gym is because I never have to wait for a rack or bench and I don't want that to change. For real though, check this place out.

TLDR: Iron vault is a weightlifting gym with new equipment and excellent management.

There are so many pros, I’m just going to list them out: easy sign-up, fair price, 24 hour access, helpful and friendly staff, roomy with plenty of weights to go around, not overcrowded, and painless cancellation.

Great place to lift, lots of iron, good bars, plenty of squat racks. If you are serious about lifting heavy iron, this is the place to be. Low price for membership and no commitment made it easy to try it out and I'm glad I did. I've been here for three months now and it was a good choice.the staff is knowledgeable and the crowd is great. Serious, respectful people who do their work and don't show off. Great environment! They are chalk-friendly and have bumper plates. They also put on regular form clinics on weekends.

Great gym, mostly free weights and a few machines. The staff is super friendly and offer advice/workouts or help in spotting. Equipment is new and facilities are kept clean. They have hassle free membership/no contract or $5 day passes.

Love that the day fee is affordable and no harrassment or phone calls to get you to join. This gym is great and me and my friends love lifting there.

Good power lifting gym. Devoted mainly to squats and deadlift. No frills. No real cardio equipment to speak of. Drop in price is only $5 and the first session is free. You should check it out if you're curious.

This is the best lifting gym in South Austin. With only a $5 drop-in fee you should definitely give this place a try. The facility is fairly small but clean and stocked with everything you need to lift. The staff are very friendly. Unfortunately I had to drop my monthly membership but the cancellation process was extremely easy. A simple email request and my membership was cancelled within the hour. No hassle at all. Five-star customer service!

I'm a novice gym goer and this place is great. I was looking for a place focusing on more barbells than machines and Iron Vault is awesome! I feel safe lifting with their equipment.

What a breath of fresh air from the traditional globo gyms! Every single piece of equipment is new and top notch. No expense was spared in outfitting this place - which clearly shows a great amount of pride in the business they have built.
The vibe is SUPER chill. As a lady lifter I was a little skeptical about the douche-bagery I might encounter. I've been multiple times now and much to my chagrin everyone is pleasant, focused and the douchery non-existent. Don't hesitate to check this place out!
