We love FINS! Our twin boys have been learning how to swim off and on here since they were about 2. I wish we hadn't stopped at any point, but life gets in the way sometimes. Their coaches have been wonderful throughout the years. They've had to relearn skills each time they go back, but the coaches have been very patient and knowledgeable. The boys absolutely love swimming, and I love that they're learning how to be safe around pools and in the water. It's a win-win!

My son is 3 and has been attending Fins for 2 months now. He was struggling at first but, once he started his lessons with Coach Sophia he finally started to have fun! She made him feel so comfortable and went out of her way to make him laugh when he was upset. He has progressed so much with her in such a short amount of time. Highly recommend Coach Sophia at Fins! I’m so sad we are moving and have to stop our lessons because, she is absolutely fantastic!!

Also, all the staff at Fins are all so incredibly sweet and accommodating. My son struggles with regulating his emotions and is very eager to go to the pool area. The staff has never once given us a rude look or made comments about his behavior. They know he’s learning and have always said how excited he is to go swimming. It’s crazy how u take a child's money and not let them take the classes that’s paid for ahead. Then yelling at them and accusing and recording them is very unprofessional. For being a business for children should not be treating kids as if they are adults. Also for them to be yelling at parents and recording them. Seems like the staff here need to either be retrained or replaced.

My 6 year old son was very hesitant about the water at first but Coach Karen has been incredibly patient, gentle, and reassuring with him. She’s helped him feel safe and confident again, and because of that, he’s progressing much faster than I expected. Watching him get excited for swim lessons now has been such a blessing. I enrolled my 2YO son here for beginner’s swim lessons, and we completed 3 out of 5 classes we signed up for. Mia did a fantastic job trying to calm him despite his heightened anxiety around strangers. My son didn’t like the idea of my husband and I observing from another room. However, each time he eventually went with her, Mia had him smiling by the end of his lesson and accommodated him the best she could. Even the other trainers occupied with their own students encouraged my son and cheered him on. There was clear progression in my son’s comfortability with deep water, and I wish we could have finished the last two modules. I really hope we can sign up for lessons next summer because the staff truly was amazing.

My son flat out refused to enter the building on the day of his fourth lesson, and I’m the kind of parent that’s not going to make my child repeatedly do something they’re uncomfortable with. I caved and spoke to the receptionist, Ashley, while my husband loaded our son back into the car. I told her the situation, and she was very understanding. She helped us out with the cost of the last two lessons and made us feel welcome to come back at any point.

I have been bringing my kids to fins on and off and they always love it but today I had a horrible experience with coach Sofia. When I enrolled her they told me this was a new coach and to give her a try. Initially I wanted coach Karen but she was fully booked so I went with this new coach trusting everything was going to be fine. Worst decision ever!! I was watching her coach my daughter and you could tell the interaction was too harsh. My daughter is 5 so this was not ok with me. I saw how she was approaching her and not once she smiled at her or tried to make her feel comfortable. I saw her making faces when my daughter was not doing was she was asking her. My daughter has worked with swimming coaches before and she has never felt so uncomfortable like today. I waited until we got to the car to ask her how it went she was holding back her tears . I immediately knew she felt she same thing I had felt and called them to switch to a different coach. I hope this is the only time this happens. My daughter loves swimming and this types of experiences is gonna make her not want to go back to class. This review is mainly for the coach but will see what happens in the next class and see if same thing happens. The school has always been amazing but not sure if there was a change in management or what but not sure why this happened this time and I hope they take this feedback. If you are working with kids you specifically need to know how to approach kids and how to make them feel comfortable. A 5 year old should never feel the way my daughter felt and get to the car almost in tears. I saw the whole interaction and I didnt like the way she was grabbing her feet to show her how to keep them pointed, how she was talking to her. I never leave reviews but what happened today has me really upset and in disbelief. And to top it off I call and the person that answered me if I wanted a hard or a soft coach. Like what!! I just want someone that knows how to teach kids. This is a kids swimming school so logically anyone that gets hired needs to know how to teach kids, never thought in a million years this was the type of people they hired. I always recommend fins to people specially on the way they treat kids but today was so different that I’m honestly scared of what’s gonna happen next week and that for some reason the way fins school was before it no longer exists!!

Just recently put my grandkids to learn how to swim. They love the coaches. They are very patient and also great teachers. They feel safe and just in a few weeks they are really learning, only thing is, I’m big on customer service! I say hello when I walk in and no glance no words whatsoever. My daughter has been going here since she was about 8/9 months. She is now 1 and half. I chose this place based on reviews and they didn't let me down. My daughter is now so comfortable with water but also really digesting/developing the safety skills she needs. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I started taking my daughter here when she was 7 years old for swim lessons in June of 2024. I had never learned how to swim and I didn't want her to grow up afraid of the water like I was. She immediately made great progress and I was so impressed. Her first coach was Deron, and he is a great coach! With each goal that she achieved, she was awarded a ribbon. In a matter of weeks, she had moved up numerous levels. She is doing so great! In August of 2024, I started taking swim lessons here. I must admit, I was so apprehensive about taking lessons as a 39 year old adult. I was placed with Coach Deedre, who is accustomed to working with adults. She is great!!!! She was the perfect combination of pushing me to do better but not to the point of pushing me too hard past my comfort zone. In as little as 2 months of weekly lessons with her, I was able to jump in and swim comfortably in a 12 foot deep pool! I am no longer afraid of the water, and can tell people without hesitation that I can swim. This place is professional, the lessons are enjoyable, the curriculum works, the coaches and staff are outstanding. The price is very reasonable for private lessons, and 100% worth it! My family is super grateful for FINS.

I’ve been bringing my child since baby and now is able to float and closer to swim by itself. The coaches are professional and respectful. As any other place there are some very kind and caring while others not at all. I would say that there are more areas to improve for the parents, some let the kids to piping in the changing rooms and change older kids in the changing tables that are for babies. If we expect for the facility to be clean, we as parents have to do our part too and read the signs that are posted to follow their rules and keep a safe and clean place for our kids

Coach Deedre is an excellent teacher. She is very patient and kind towards my 2yr (almost 3) old daughter who is very strong willed and tentative/cautious towards new situations. In fact, our youngest fell into a pool at 2 years old while we were house shopping and managed to keep his head up while my wife ran around the pool and jumped in to get him. These swim classes might LITERALLY have saved our sons life. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

This place started off great and inviting. Staff is nice to you when you’re going to join. However, I had an interesting and unpleasant experience here with my son. My son joined with a bit of hesitation to water (to be expected) and quickly overcame that and moved up a level. Things were great for a while, he looked forward to coming and had no problem learning with Coach Izzy.

Then he had one makeup class with Coach Morgan where she was so careless that she instilled a fear of water in him that he never had before. She physically held him underwater for more than 10 seconds (a long time for a 4yo to hold their breath), to finish a conversation she was having with another instructor. And then going against the skills in his level, throws him in the water from a far distance and does not pick him up from the water when he was literally swimming up for pure survival at that point. He was not at the skill level to swim without any support. Nobody came to his rescue. Luckily, he found the step and pulled himself up from there. She then had the audacity to give me a side eye and rolled her eyes at me when my son started crying. The coaches tend to do that a lot when things don’t go their way. I brought this up to the manager and all that was said was Coach Morgan will be spoken to. I had to take my son to the ER to make sure he didn’t suffer any possibility of dry drowning since he inhaled so much water.

Following that point, he gave Coach Izzy a hard time due to this instilled fear. While she was great for some time, when things got hard her favorite thing to do about 4 times a lesson was give me the same side eye look Coach Morgan gave me that day. He was making slow progress of learning water isn’t that scary. After the incident with Coach Morgan, Izzy started talking to me more vaguely and differently.

On the day he made the most progress, she told me after class “I think I need to have my manager speak to you on what you want from us at this point because I don’t want to have to deal with this anymore.” I had nothing to say to her at that point other than “have a great evening.” . I told the manager about it and said I would consider cancelling if there’s not another coach he can switch to. The staff member with curly hair then whispered to the manager (even though I’m right there at the desk) “she’s the one with the problem with Coach Morgan,” and the look they both gave me was terrible. They went from super friendly, to a very mundane toned conversation with no eye contact anymore. They were so upset that they left me with the only option of leaving and did not want to consider switching coaches. Now I’m glad we didn’t stay.

I’ve seen other kiddos push instructors due to fear and they’ve been patient and consistent and the kids eventually do great. Coach Izzy just doesn’t have the patience with children. I was just asking for 20 mins out of her week/ shift while I was being consistent at home and it was working, but she gave up. They advertise themselves as working with kids but once things get hard they don’t want to deal with it anymore. Part of working with kids is having patience and that’s one thing this place does not have. Even though THEIR instructor did this to my son, there was no effort on their part to make this better.

My son left with zero progress made in 7 months and worse off than he came in with. He has a fear of water now from that day with Coach Morgan that will be very hard on my end to fix. But staff doesn’t care.

I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because there was a 6 month period where things were great before Morgan came into the picture.

I just found our that my grandson who has Autism, was pulled down all the way in the water and came up choking. Now he's terrified of going to this place. We tried going back 3 times now and he wants nothing to do with their incompetant teenage employees. It was just this one "fill in" instructor that obviously never worked with autistic children before. Never again!

My son has been coming to FINs for about 5 years now and he loves it. To see the amount of growth and how far he became. Learning to swim in the water with no amount of fear. All praises to the wonderful swim instructors who has taught him over the years, have been extremely amazing and patient. Only thing I miss is the longer times. But i understand COVID took a toll on all of us and had to make it safe.

Good swim school for beginners. I like the one-on-one private coaching but wish the classes were 30 minutes as opposed to 20 minutes. Changing area could use some improvement. We previously attended a swim school out of state that had hair dryers and spinner machines to put wet suits in so they aren’t soaking wet to take home.

Coach Karen is the best!
My child is wilful, tenatious, and assertive and was pretty well known at Fins as being able to talk her way out of things she didn't want to do. We needed a fun & firm coach to guide her; and we found Karen!
Karen was able to get my child to focus and participate, while still having fun. We tried many coaches before Karen and stopped at the best. My child is now progressing, enjoying the water, and loving swim.

I have a 9-year-old daughter who loves the water. She had never been in swimming lessons. We started in summer A and we decided to continue with summer B because couch Gaby is definitely the best teacher. My daughter progressed super fast with her and she is kind and a good person. Right now my daughter is in dolphin and she only needs 2 skills to be a shark, now my husband does not want her to stop her classes because we look at the results and my daughter is a good swimmer in such a short time, we also notice that she is very fast swimming backwards and we love that, thank you very much couch Gaby.

We have had an amazing experience at FINS for the last 3 years. Our kids have learned so much and love the water. They look forward to coming each week and get excited about swimming with their instructors. All the instructors are beyond nice and truly love what they do. It’s obvious they all genuinely enjoy teaching kids not only how to swim but to develop the love for swimming. I can’t imagine taking our kids anywhere else. The 1:1 teacher/student ratio is exactly what our kids need and it allows them to develop positive trusting relationships. They will all swim with other instructors when their instructor is out for something and every sub they have had is just as wonderful. I would definitely recommend Fins!! We had first looked at some individuals doing private lessons but they filled up fast, or schedule didn’t work with ours. Fins is open all the time so you can definitely find something that works for your schedule. Pricing was similar to others/places we looked into. We had Coach Will as our two boys Coach and I can not say enough good things about him! He is sooo good with the kids and they learned so much. My 4 year old went from no swimming skills to being able to swim after 10 lessons. (Not a pro yet but can SWIM). I would always request Coach Will if I can, and we do plan to take more lessons later on to keep up/improve their skills. We did have to miss, I think 3 lessons and due to our schedule had sub coaches for those make up lessons. All the coaches are so good and nice, but for us Coach Will is the Best!!!
