I actually really like this gym. Clean, organized, affordable. But this morning, showed up at 6:45am and they’re not open. They’re supposed to open at 5am so it isn’t a matter of a few min; it’s been nearly 2 hours! Several people including myself are waiting outside. Very disappointing. This is the first time I’ve experienced them opening late, but other reviews say this is a common occurrence. If that’s true, I’m not sure what to say.

3rd update- 11/10/2025: Another reason not to enroll in this gym, they can’t even hire responsible staff to open on time. This isn’t the first time they’ve failed to open at 5 a.m., leaving paying members stuck waiting outside. We waited til 6:10am and no one showed up!! Totally unprofessional and unacceptable.(photos attached)!!

This gym has some potential, but unfortunately, it has declined since the management change. The equipment is outdated and not well-maintained, and despite regular cleaning efforts, the cardio machines are often covered in dust and sweat. There’s a real need for an investment in newer, better-maintained equipment.

The restrooms are another major concern—sinks and toilets are frequently dirty, often covered in grime. Additionally, I’ve been uncomfortable with the cleaning staff member who is regularly present in the women’s locker room during business hours, which is not ideal when members are changing or showering. It would be a good idea to hire a female staff member to avoid this situation, as it’s an issue of privacy and comfort.

Overall, this gym could greatly benefit from some updates in both cleanliness and staff protocols.

Update after 7 months: I wanted to give this gym a fair chance, so I waited 7 months before following up with a review — but unfortunately, things have only gotten worse. The gym is still noticeably dirty, especially in the cardio area. The machines are covered in dust and dried sweat, and many of them actually smell bad because of the buildup — it’s clear they’re not being cleaned regularly.

A lot of equipment is still broken, and the AC in the women’s area hasn’t been fixed in months, making workouts even more uncomfortable. The Women’s sauna is also falling apart! Despite all this, membership fees have increased, and the gym keeps hosting open houses to bring in new members. Unfortunately, the lack of leadership and accountability is obvious.

It’s frustrating to see basic cleanliness and upkeep being ignored for so long.

Fit Factory has so much to offer! It’s such a great gym, it’s clean and has lots of equipment and space to get all your workouts done. What sets it apart though is its training staff! I can’t say enough about April’s hot sculpt, strength and cardio classes or Brandon’s personal training sessions. They are the absolute best, it’s obvious they care about what they do, they get to know you and always make time for you even in a busy class whether helping you master a move or just encouraging you to keep showing up, they make you feel like you’re right where you belong. There’s such a good variety of classes too…Carrie’s hot yoga and Dee Dee’s matte Pilates and barre are also amazing! I haven’t met all of the instructors but there’s definitely a common theme going on they genuinely care and enjoy what they do and it shows, it makes you want to keep coming back. 💪 I highly recommend Fit Factory, it’s a game changer!

Edit two months in... I love April and Brandon's classes! Row, hot body, and FFIT classes has me feeling so strong. So happy I can get my workout done first thing in the day. I hate working out but love the way it makes me feel. I love the regular people I work out with! They're so encouraging! Also Carries hot yoga class is top notch. These people need raises! The facilities could use some work. I would love to talk to the people in charge of the budget. Flooring is needs replaced, some equipment needs repair or replaced, and the whole place could use a deep clean, specifically dust and the womens bathroom. It's a great building and tons of equipment and the ability to clean things yourself. I love the class times and the location and the childcare. Happy to be a member even with the challenges.

Love it here! From all the equipment on the floor, the locker rooms with showers and sauna to the group fitness classes - they have it all! Loving April’s Hot Body Sculpt, Carrie’s Heated Yoga Flow and trainer Brandon will definitely get you in shape! Everyone is so friendly and helpful if you’re new or a beginner. Also, as a parent of 3, it’s so convenient with their kids place to drop kids off while I workout. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a great community to stay healthy and in shape!

Iv been working out at this gym for 4 years now and I do love the equipment and the staff is amazing. My only complaint is they have not fixed the AC in the girls gym nor the kids club (day care). It’s been almost a year since they have had working AC in both rooms. They just have one plug in fan in the girls gym and one plug in fan in the kids club. It’s ridiculous at this point. I pay $60 a month and I have to bring my 4 year old to a room with non working AC. I’m also 6 months pregnant and it’s ridiculous and unsafe how hot the room gets.I can understand if it was a few weeks but like I said it’s almost been a year of this. I’m going to cancel my membership and look somewhere else. I don’t know how you keep children and your staff in that environment. It’s truly miserable and disgusting.

Joined in April/May and was definitely enjoying the childcare, women's only gym, sauna, and nice bathrooms, in addition to the workout equipment. BUT..... I wasn't seeing much improvement because I'm out of shape and needed direction/motivation. One day I walked in when Brandon had just started an FFIT class and I was hooked!!! Brandon's classes are seriously the best and he needs about 3 - 5 more classes a week! He's amazing at motivating and encouraging you, planning out a great workout that requires zero thought/planning, and he corrects my form and posture throughout the workout. Then I started April's classes and, same thing. She is so energetic and encouraging, and gives quite a variety of different workouts- rowing, weights, cardio, & strength training. Honestly I might have quit but Brandon's and April's classes kept me here and I have now seen a lot of improvement!

Seriously giving 5 stars purely because of Brandon and April's classes, and the fact that there's childcare. Improvements would be to add a Friday morning session for child care so parents can attend classes. Also, fix the AC in the women's gym and childcare area. Please!!!! And... add more brandon classes! Kickboxing? Cycling?

Been attending for 2 weeks and haven't had a single good experience. The bathroom area of the locker room is always disgusting, and while changing today a woman came in and told me that a man would be coming in to change the toilet paper. The staff is rude, inattentive and the equipment is sub-par. I asked an employee today at the front desk how to cancel my membership and was told I cannot until I pay the annual fee, even though I was told at sign-up that I can cancel at any time. Words cannot express how much I love this place. First off, super affordable. Both my husband and I on the top plan for less than I was paying for just me at my last gym. They have tons of equipment and activities, very nice facilities and even a kids club. I have never been an active person, though I have tried to become one and have joined so many different gyms over the years just to go for the first week and then quit. Fit Factory is different though, they offer a bunch of different classes every day and it's super easy to enroll. The instructors are incredible! April is so motivating and informative, I love her classes the most. Billie and Brandon for strength training, which is something I've always dreaded, but they make it fun somehow. Deedee for pilates and Barre. They're all so helpful and wonderful. There are so many others too. I have yet to take a class I didn't enjoy, and I've been doing 5-7 per week! Usually I watch the clock crawl by second by second whole working out, but somehow, and I really don't understand how, the instructors at fit factory make the time fly by so fast. I really can't reccomend this place enough! Come check out a class and see what your body can do!

This gym has a lot of potential but has gone down hill ever since the manager Clay left. I will say that the people that attend the gym are nice and welcoming. The upkeep of the gym has not been the same though. The men's urinal has been broken for almost 2 months, the towel washing machine has been broken for almost 2 weeks and the dirty towels are still in the dirty hampers. The gym is not as clean and organized as it used to be, and machines do not get repaired as quick as they used to. Regular day evening are pretty full, but that is to be expected of almost any gym.
As I said, the gym has potential but as in of now I would not necessarily recommend it unless some changes are made.

Follow up: I am doing a follow up and updating the "stars". A new manager has been hired and she is wonderful. The things that were broken have been fixed and the upkeep has been much better. I now leave four as the gym can get pretty busy in the evenings. Other than that the gym is doing much better.

I had the same promotion in December and the employee said I can cancel ANYTIME within the 2 months and not have to pay the Feb fee of 88. Now to my surprise I couldn’t cancel so I had to call them and an employee said I have to give 30 DAYS NOTICE. Either their employees don’t know what they’re doing and “lies” or they aren’t properly informed of what to say. This is absolutely ridiculous their advertisement is completely misleading and they’re just tryna scam you of your money. However the manager was cool and tried to make it right by giving me an extra month free so including the 88 annual and monthly fee for next month I got an extra which is ok but still extremely frustrating.

I’ve been at FF for several years now. Overall I’ve been satisfied with the gym and equipment but there’s been a definite decline in management in the last 18 months. Machines go months broken…3-6 months at times for very simple repairs. Literally just a cable and some cable clamps many times. I’m marking this machine since it was just broken in the last few days to see how long it takes…will update in a few…months most likely.

Simply put, do better. It’s not that hard. If your current repair company can’t get here in a week then find someone else or repair in house.

The staff is great but something has fallen through the cracks with the upper management. I could go on but I’ll end it here.

I toured multiple gyms before coming to Fit Factory. They offered me 1 month free and no annual fee. I signed up based on that, but even during the sign up process, they acted cagey about the “special” they offered to attract me to their gym. Sure enough, the next month I was charged the annual fee. I have went to this gym when it first opened and it was so good. The staff were amazing unfortunately I had to stop going. Fast forward 4 years later I end up coming back to the gym and at first it was really good then it got bad. I wasn’t aware of any price increases that would have been nice to know or that I had to cancel my membership through an email as they will not give a phone number for a corporate office. The staff for the most part is fairly good but you do have those ones that are arrogant and just unprofessional. With that being said I will never go back to this gym.

I was supposed to be on a month to month contract because I live in a different state and visit here. This march I was charged with a renewal. I had to pay like 80 bucks to opt out of automatic renewal. The gym is great. However, I have a major concern and complain. A guy should never be cleaning the girl’s bathroom/ shower area. It is completely unacceptable to be rushed out of the bathroom when you’re trying to get ready for work and the front desk girl keeps telling you to hurry up bc a guy working is coming in while other women are showering. Not okay. Y’all can definitely work on finding a woman cleaner for the women’s area.

Worst experience ever! I heard a lot bad things about them from some of my friends . But I still give it a try because I’m living very close by. I also bring back one of my friend who was a member here. I sign up with the guy at the front and he told me he will charge me for membership fee + annual year fee and after that I only need to pay 19.99 every month. But the second payment they charged me 86.58 . I came and talked to the girl who work in the front. She told me it was a mistake but she is not a manager so she can’t do anything and asked me to come back on Wednesday when the manager is there. He will take care of it. I told her I can’t come because I have work and she said she will give him a note and he will call me. I waited and no call so I have to call them. I asked to speak to the manager and the guy said there is no manager there. i told him the reason I call . Then he said they charged me enrolled fee + 19.99 . I asked him why my friend who sign up online at the same time as me only paid 19.99 for first month and she paid $86.58 for second month ( for annual year fee +membership)
And he said maybe when she sign up there is some promotion at the time. I told him we did it at the same time. Then I said I’m not longer happy there so can he help me cancel my membership. He said I have to do it on my own. OMG what is the customer service is that? No wonder they seem pretty quiet there.
I’m working as customer service and also a manager of a store when customer is unhappy or misunderstanding I also explain to them nicely and always say sorry . I will try my best to make them stay with the business. But here they don’t care and seem like they don’t need customers. I rather go to LA fitness down the street than stay with them.

I really don't know the reason for this and today I asked the person working at the entrance to put my phone on charge if there was a charger and he said there was no charger, but we saw that there was a charger there and they started laughing after we turned our backs. Signed up and the gym bathrooms aren’t cleaned and guests don’t clean after using machines, no easy access to towels.

Tried cancelling and the only way to cancel is to pay two months of membership, despite being told no cancellation fee.

They also try to get your checking account numbers or charge extra $20 for credit cards. Presumably because it’s easier to dispute a wrongful charge.

I try to avoid being the customer that complains. But this is absolutely ridiculous!!! In the past two months this has happened not once, not twice, but SEVERAL times. My husband and I wake up at 4:30 AM, take our preworkout and rush over to the gym right down the street from our house. The gym being so close is so convenient for busy parents like us who have to get the kids to school and get to work, but time and time again we show up to a full parking lot of people sitting in their cars waiting for the doors to be opened. The gym is suppose to be open at 5 AM it’s 5:52 as I finish this post and everyone that was here at 5 is pretty much gone. If you’re looking for a gym here in Garland and your a 5 am person you should look elsewhere cause this ain’t it. 😡

About a month ago I was gifted this gym membership for my 49th birthday by my husband.
It has been a game changer for me. This gym is about two minutes from my home so I can get in and get out in a little over an hour and the convenience of that is huge.
The level of customer service is above and beyond what I have experienced at Lifetime Fitness in Garland when I was a member many years ago.
Every time I walk through the front door or leave the building someone at the front desk always greets me or says goodbye.
If I go up to the membership staff or one of the trainers to ask them a simple question, they are always willing to help me, but before I walk away, they asked me my name and introduced themselves to me and shake my hand. They really want to get to know their members and want their members to succeed and I really appreciate that.
I usually work out between 7 AM to 9 AM and there are plenty of strength training machines available. I have also been there to work out between 5 and 8 PM in the evening, and I have never had to wait for a machine.
I also like that the gym is very clean. The gym culture there is that everyone wipes down their machines after using it. There are plenty of spray bottles and paper towels available at many points throughout the gym. That makes wiping down the machines very easy to do.
The woman’s locker room and bathroom stalls are always immaculately clean. No weird locker room smells.
The crowd that works out there is very respectful and it’s a no nonsense no drama type of environment.
So glad I decided to stop in and check them out after driving past them for so many months.
I have a workout area at home with dumbbells going up to 40 pounds as well as a treadmill, a rebounder, a boxing bag, and a cycle but nothing compares to being able to lift heavy at a nice clean, friendly gym that has customer service that is above and beyond.

Sean's style is warm and personable. He challenges you to achieve your fitness goals with a balanced approach, both pushing you to succeed, yet patient with the process. He listens well to your needs, adjusts your workouts and is both educational and supportive.
Sean gave me some great guidance on getting past a stagnant period in my work outs.

I’ve been a member for over a year at Fit Factory after I had left LA Fitness due to a bad situation/poor choices made by management.
I absolutely love it here! The facility, staff, and equipment are great!
What makes the biggest impact is the ladies at the front desk- Annalicia and Edith! They always welcome you in with the biggest and warmest smiles! Everyone here is always supportive and welcoming!

The management at Fit Factory, and the customer care are top notch in my opinion. I have been to most gyms in the area and this one is the best in atmosphere, members, and staff. Clay, is the manager and is always so friendly and helpful! He will go out of his way to make sure things are done right and customers are satisfied. BEST GYM IN GARLAND!

Small but clean gym. 100% of the time that I visit, there is someone cleaning. Rarely have I been when it’s crowded. Front desk staff is friendly and remember you when you walk in. Anna at the front desk is awesome.

I have been a coming here for less than a year. Today was the 3rd time (for me) no one was here to open the gym (Sunday). People waiting outside, furious. Also need to mention if I take longer than a 2 minute shower, it’s a cold one. Please provide more than 1 blow dryer.
On the flip side, Ana, the weekday opener is so sweet. I am here at opening, and she sets out towels for me so I don’t have to wait.

I’ve been going there for 2 years now and the staff has always been amazing. Clay the manager is always so kind and encouraging. He is constantly working hard to keep that gym nice and updated and does an amazing job doing it.
Edith and Annalicia are amazing at the front desk. We all know how the beginning of your gym journey can be a bit unnerving. They are always there presenting a friendly face and making people feel welcomed.
Marlene does a wonderful job In the daycare facility caring for my little ones. They’re always excited to come to the gym with me partially because of her.

I used to go to LA Fitness for years and then COVID happened. It was a blessing in disguise because I found Fit Factory. The gym is clean. The sauna isn’t dirty or broken. The gym looks brand new all the time. The best part is the friendly smile and greeting that I get from Anna every morning. What’s even better is that when the music messes up and I forget my headphones, she has the perfect music. Great job Anna!

Do not attend this gym. They use predatory membership recruitment practices; save your money. If thats not enough, the locker room and sauna have roaches and plumbing issues that make the facilities smell like fecal matter, and the classes are sub par and dominated by very pushy regulars; which curates an unnecessarily unwelcoming atmosphere. The one star that I am giving is for my interactions with the desk associate named Faith who was always very kind and welcoming as well as one female custodian whose name I never knew but was very friendly, and one female child care area worker Andria, who was nice to my daughter. If I could give those ladies 5 stars and the gym 0 I would. ALL gyms have equipment, but where you go to work out should give you peace of mind; especially if you're paying to go there..... never again.

Do not enroll at Fit Factory. It’s a one year contract that is absolutely impossible to get out. They make mistakes when you change debit cards and charge you a late fee and do not work with you to get it refunded. Go to LA Fitness down the street. Much better gym, service and bang for your buck!

I have been trying to cancel my membership since September because the only class that I took was heated yoga, step and time to time cycle before Covid. Post Covid reopening the only available class for me was heated yoga and half the good instructors/trainers are no longer there so it's a waste of money for me to continue with this membership. However, every time I call about canceling I get the runaround. I was first told they couldn't freeze my account because they had already processed a payment, but would freeze it for the upcoming months. They only froze my membership for 1 month instead of 2. At that time I requested to just cancel and be done with it. My account still has not be canceled. The facility is clean, the yoga instructors are great, but customer service is everything nor do they offer any classes that I need.

Let me update! Was coming as a guest of a member and was advised when I got there that guest cannot take classes. Not sure if that was communicated to the guest, but considering someone drove from Dallas there should have been some type of courtesy. Definitely would not get a membership here
