Went to sign up for a membership this evening and after a few minutes waiting, I was greeted with a male staffer who was completely uninterested in offering me any information whatsoever.
After expressing my interest in a weekly pass, to see how the gym would work for me, he said it was $30.
Since that’s close to the same amount as a monthly pass, I assumed he would offer a membership and begin the process of collecting my info, etc.

He did not.

I am very let down by this experience, I was looking forward to joining a 24hour access gym because it works best with my schedule. The reviews for 1440 seemed to reflect a great and welcoming atmosphere. What I received today was completely the opposite and I felt like he couldn’t get me out of there fast enough.

No further contact is needed, for this type of behavior to occur means that this lack of professionalism is encouraged within this gym.

The environment and all the equipment was really great! The guy Coby that showed my son and I around was very helpful and explained everything very well. We tried out a day pass. Just wasn't to sure about the prices, if the price would involve a family deal or if it's just by individual.

After spending the last 20+ years doing 12oz curls in my backyard, I finally decided to join a gym. After visiting Fitness 1440 in San Angelo I knew it was a perfect fit. Even though I came in with my beer gut hanging I felt very comfortable. The owners Chris and Cheryl introduced themselves to me the first chance they got, and Chris even gave me a few tips to get me started. With the help of the trainers and staff, I was able to drop some body weight and build some muscle. I would post pics, but you will need to visit my OF for them!

Top. I trained in two other clubs in San Angelo (though years ago) - one supposedly the best in town - but 1440 beats them by miles. First and foremost, 24/7 is THE plus. Also this club has gym mats, boxing bag, rings, soft surfaces, ropes, … plus all the usual iron machines - more variety esp. for calisthenics. The personnel is friendly and concise. I came to San Angelo just for a month - 1440 promptly answered my email and gave me a monthly membership for about 50 (which is a pretty fair deal all things considered). The club also looks clean and is spacey. One interesting feature for the future could be some kind of climbing wall - just an input, I know its easier said than done.

I have used several local gyms. 1440 tops my list. I believe there is a greater variety of equipment as well as more than adequate numbers of equipment and space. The biggest advantage is that personal training is offered affordable and individualized with excellent attention to individual issues and correct form. Cleanliness is excellent as is staff. My personal favorite gym.

I usually go early in the morning, it's busy but I never have to wait too long for something to open up. The gym is clean and well maintained. The staff, when on duty are always helpful. The gym is 24 hours which helps with people who have busy schedules. The rates are affordable at $35 a month for the contracted rate and month to month is $50. I will be coming here for the next 12 months and would recommend checking it out.

Really like this gym. Has a great setup. Color combo is really nice and has a good pop to it. Lots of great equipment and a great use of the areas. Good kid of selectorized and plate loaded/free weights equipment. Owner is good guy. Live the place and will continue to go here anytime we r able to.

I highly recommend coming here. Support local and not the big box gyms.

Great place. I've been to a few gyms and this one made me feel like they actually want you to succeed. I have been there off and on but no matter what I am always welcomed by Chris and even though I am not very well acquainted with him he knows my name. That is commitment to something you believe in. Great Gym! I'm not one to work out a lot but the 2 times I have been there they have made it very comfortable. The trainers are awesome and very polite to correct me when I am using a machine improperly. I do miss the custom smoothies but they provide me with other protein options at my request. Kids club is a great addon along with extreme yoga. I have realized it was actually regular yoga and my outrageous grunting and sweating made it extreme. Now that I have found out they have indoor plumbing I will definitely be going back!

We have been members at 1440 since it opened in San Angelo. It’s a great facility with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The equipment is clean and well maintained, and the owners and staff are on site making sure that everyone’s needs are met. There are ample machines and free weights for beginners and those who seek a more advanced workout. The green space is great for warmups, ab work, and plyometrics. We have been at a lot of gyms in San Angelo over the last 30 years, and 1440 is the best. Thanks Chris and Cheryl!! We recommend you to everyone we know.

The folks at 1440 are great! They have a good mix of traditional machines, free weights, cardio machines, and a turf area to perform bounding, running, throws, etc. They also have a wide array of kettle bells, bands, ropes and even gymnastics rings. Bathrooms and showers are always perfect and it's open 24/7 to members. If you can't get a good workout at 1440 that is your own fault.

I visited yesterday while in San Angelo. The staff member at the desk was telling me that they had decided to limit the BCBS health insurance access to the gym and that I was forbidden from accessing the lockers or other services -- that I could only use the workout machines. It definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

By far the best gym I’ve ever been to. Chris and the team are very friendly, helpful and strive to take care of everyone in any way possible. Hands down the cleanest and neatest gym around, all machines and equipment are in excellent condition, everything is always properly sanitized and safe. The community of people that use the gym also share the same efforts as the staff about keeping it clean and being respectful of the gym itself, and all other members. On top of the cleanliness, 1440 has very nice accommodations such as showers, kids club, and private training. Overall, I have been thoroughly impressed with not only the physical aspects of the gym, but also the staff and other members of 1440. 10/10 would recommend to anybody looking for the cleanest, friendliest, most complete and accommodating gym around.

Favorite fitness place in San Angelo. All the other ones get too packed, but I love going to this one and not feeling crowded by others! The place is brand new so the cleanliness, freshness and new aspects are expected. The running owner is beyond respectable and polite. All staff is friendly and has a good amount of knowledge of products. Plenty of high-tech equipment for beginners and advanced workout enthusiasts.
